Ramming cars list

Recommended Posts

Posted

Can staff atleast help us (community) out by giving us a list of cars or atleast specifications that would verify ramming in? A lot of mixed sayings spread. One that you can ram in any car with a metal bumper. Two you can ram in cars that are worth less than 100k. Three you cant ram in cars less than 100k you can ram in only offroaders and SUVs. Fourth you can ram with anything unless you own it and you fear for its value.

Which is true?? We need a bluntly visible list of vehicles you can ram in. Also should you fear for the price of a stolen vehicle? An enemy gang's vehicle? Dont get it still.

I would recommend to try and see it from an IRL standpoint. Would you care about a car you stole? How about your safety?

Personally I would love to see vehicles way more sensitive for damage to get it more realistic in general.

If we place everything within the rules and a certain amount of boundaries, we will never be able to role-play anymore and it will become more of a rule-playing.
I think people should consciously understand what is a sports vehicle that you shouldn't ram in and what is an okay vehicle to do such thing. If the server will focus on clarifying everything to a detail, I doubt we will ever be able to finish such a list.

Exactly I would like to see vehicles breaking even if you crash a pole at higher speeds. People ain't afraid to ram other people since what the worst case scenario will happen? you will stall the engine and you will turn it back on after a a minute? that's why we have high speed ramming and so on because there is no consequences for your car and if you get into the building and go out your car is brand new 🙂

I believe the biggest issue is desync though. I personally try to avoid this kind of situations mostly and having a list would promote ruleplay I think. That list will influence some people IC.

Nah you will never be reported for misunderstanding.

This just sounds like a pathway to ruleplay to me as well as metagaming considering people will end up purchasing vehicles solely off that list for the purpose of ramming.

So which of the conditions I mentioned is right? Are you allowed to ram in a car that you stole but is a sports/super car? Giving safety and fearing for your life, are you allowed to only block a car from moving in it?

Well if I'd steal a car I wouldn't care much about it. It's not my car. I also don't care about cheap cars, usually the ones from scrapyard or ones that are around same price range with Warrener.

Honestly I don't give a shit what happens to my irl shitbox, it wasn't that expensive, I hate it, I would start ramming with it if it'd be necessary in any real life situation.

I'll make a list of vehicles and realistic interactive uses for situations like this. I'll make it fairly generic as well so you can still choose based on your experience and character choices.

I believe this is something that, if made, should be done following consulting with Senior Staff to ensure compliance with metagaming as well as ruleplay.

I feel like the idea of a list has the intention on getting as close to stepping over the line of breaking the rules without breaking them. That should not be the reasoning behind making a list like that. I think now it is made more than clear enough which cars can or cannot ram. If it t a sports, super, or bike just don't do it. This just seems like an excuse to say hey this car "wasn't on the list"

I said it once and I will say it again this would only encourage people to walk the line even more on what is rule breaking and acceptable and I strongly feel changes like that should not be acceptable in this community.

I propose something... persistent damage? Cars already have that "damage" thing in the bottom right, out of 1000, and if you look on the ECLIPSE panel you can see that it IS tracked there. Just save that info and have the cost of repairs be relative to the stock price of the car, say 10% for one thats totaled maybe?

Then REMOVE the ramming rule, if you want to damage your expensive shit then go for it my dude, but you will have to pay for it 🙂

Seems like this would end in a lot more non rp.

I feel like people would be more focused on ruleplay and the list of vehicles rather than roleplay. If you think you would be able to ram with a vehicle you should ask staff to make sure you can without breaking rules.

Perfect, thanks @MrSilky

I was going to do something similar.

  • Don't Ram if what you're driving is...
    • Valued over 200k?
    • A Classic, Compact, Motorcycle, Muscle, Bicycle, Sport or Super.
    • Smaller than what you're ramming.
  • Ram if what you're driving is...
    • A reinforced vehicle.
    • Smaller than you.
    • Not yours.
    • Makes RP sense and the gain is greater than the repair.

SUGGESTION DENIED

Thank you for your patience while this suggestion was being reviewed/researched.

After reviewing/researching this suggestion, we have decided to deny it for the following reason(s):

  • The rule is basically covered in the "misusing expensive vehicles" subsection of nonrp as well as general nonrp rules. As stated above, don't ram unless you're in a reinforced vehicle with a ram bar.

This decision is final. Unless instructed to, do not post another suggestion pertaining to this topic. You will still be able to submit other suggestions on the forums.

Regards,

Chunder
