Yputi Posted June 10, 2019 Report Posted June 10, 2019 (edited) Hello! I have created this topic to suggest a change in the current lock pick system. The reason for this is that I believe the current system is just totally random and does not require any skill. It is just praying while lock picking vehicles. The current system also allows you to being able to focus on your surroundings quite a bit. Now the suggestion: I would love to see some sort of puzzle when lockpicking that you will need to solve. I think many of us played many different games next to GTA and many of the story mode games have this kind of systems. I found this page with some examples: https://www.ign.com/articles/2015/02/10/9-examples-of-awesome-lock-picking-in-video-games I believe this will improve realism as it is just not random, have people more focussed on lock picking so they are less aware of their surroundings as it requires concentration and I believe it will make it possible for very big criminals to become good at lock picking cars as they do it more often. Let me know what you think! Comment I made with a possible idea example I had: Edited June 13, 2019 by Yputi 1 1

Right now the randomness if the only thing keeping every car from being stolen... while I wish a puzzle was enough, I feel it would be incredibly hard or this would just be a massive boost to car lock picking.... I like the idea of it being more skill based, but I also think the problem is none of it will be as hard as actual lockpicking, so people will just breeze through it... unless its like time gated and the person has to do the puzzle for a good 5 minutes.... So ultimately, I like the idea, but I can already see the abuse...

But yes, for sure there needs to be a really hard one as there is a learning curve. Edited June 13, 2019 by Yputi
