Rebuilding Drug Labs

fairly intuitive suggestion; current system allows for labs to be destroyed for several hours at a time, leaving criminal activities severely lacking in this downtime of no turfs. system would allow for a group of people to rebuild said lab; maybe scaling on the number of people involved?

I lose hope everyday.  This is a new kind of mentality.  Yeah to your suggestion.

We don't randomly rock up, 9/10 times someone checks one out, dies, then we all respond to an officer down call.

But yes, I do agree that criminals should be allowed to rebuild the labs, the same way turfs work, the more people you have in the area, the quicker you can rebuild the lab

I don't necessarily agree they should check it out randomly and stuff, I do understand the 911 calls however.  I was told over the Eclipse discord that they aren't supposed to check randomly and the officers involved would get into trouble with the IA if reported.

It would be interesting to be able to collect resources to rebuild them i.e: Go to the scrapyard to collect wooden panels + Metal to rebuild all the cabinets and tables. Possibly either takes a couple of runs or alternatively takes a lot of people to gather the resources.

This would encourage a couple of things:

1 -  More RP around the scrapyard

2 - Encourage more 'team' RP

In addition, It might be nice if normal chemicals could be purchased from the shops to restock the labs, or even some kind of pharmacy/cleaning company etc. There also should be additional justifiable Non-criminal reasons to be in possession of the chemicals to stop police arresting you for carrying them, since the only current intention of use is 'drug creation.'

maybe have a system where you can build a small setup in your house that can only make one thing, takes much longer, and can only have one of. and maybe have it findable in some way by police so that you don't have to be in a gang to be able to use labs cause they are always inhabited by them which makes it hard to use them

Criminals should be able to rebuild. Also, I don't think we should be visiting the drug labs randomly. I personally never do unless someone calls 911 reporting suspicious activity at some run-down shack in the middle of nowhere.

It's planned to rework the system, so gangs must construct their own labs. This means, they will be able to build them at a custom location, which will make them more difficult to find and give the police investigators a new task, to find and report their location. But I'd like these to be valuable and their destruction should be a huge loss to the owner (forces criminals to act more careful and secretive).

This sounds fantastic, look forward to seeing it unfold! Thanks for the reply.

This would be a great addition to the game because it would not only affect the drug game but I think it would also prevent non-gang related citizens from getting into the drug game

I wouldn't want non-gang criminals to be pushed aside from the crafting content, perhaps it would still be possible for them to craft low tier drugs or illegal alcohol like moonshine.

On a different RP server I used to play on, they had a system where you could plop down drug crafting facilities anywhere (including inside houses). It made for some really cool RP where police would show up at your house and ask things like "Why are the lights always on" or "Why is your electricity bill so high". They then required an actual warrant to search the house. I don't know how possible and balanced this is in GTAV considering the map is already so huge and there is plenty of places to hide even without houses but it might be something to consider!

Basically, that's what a custom location means, my plan is to include houses, warehouses and the outdoors. I think the bigger the map, the more fun it will be finding them 🙂

Definitely agreed with that.  We don't want to push away the chances for players that aren't in an unofficial gang.
