(Remember, information in these posts is strictly OOC and using the knowledge IC is Metagaming) Unused Pictures from the Public Relations Division With a power cut across the state on Halloween, some of the prison's facilities were affected but luckily our backup generator kept the major security features running just enough to prevent any attempted inmates taking advantage of the storm. _____________ The commissioner was making a public announcement at the pier, so naturally some of SADOC High Command made it over there to hear his words. The public were as rowdy as always but it's still good to show a public presence at events like these. Bonus game: See if you can spot Solomon Cobb, Warden Ren Sanchez, Reina Moraine and ex-deputy warden Herbert Butler amidst the crowd. No prize if you spot all 4 _____________ Our Human Resources Department showing some newbies the ropes in how we conduct transportation of 10-15's with Yuki Nakamura being the mock 10-15.

Probably a controversial opinion but -1 for capped time ...But hear me out. I can absolutely understand the frustration, especially and quieter times when you're very limited with who you can interact with. I do not really play crim an awful lot and when I do I can see where it gets a bit laborious for those of you who visit jail frequently. That being said, capping prison times is not really an ideal solution imo. Giving the DOC more script resources to enable more forms of RP would be much more valuable. As High Command at DOC, we put a LOT of effort into allowing various RP scenarios and keeping people entertained but we still lack in the quiet hours when we're limited by staff. I've seen some threads that have made some pretty cool suggestions like this: FatherOsborn and Xoza say it well, improving RP would be much better for us all than just reducing sentences. And even from a non-script point of view, I am always open to suggestions on what our faction can do to improve the experience for you guys on an RP level. My discord DM's (DrPathetic#0001) are open for any OOC discussions anyone wants to have about the rp level at the prison as I love to get feedback, complaints or criticisms that we can address as staff there. And ICly it's easy enough to contact me too for any IC comments people could have. We do not want to punish people on an OOC level for being in jail but there also needs to be some give and take. Inmates need to be willing to put some effort into trying to RP with us also beyond the usual "im going to fight this guy for stamps and start a riot" we see daily. We get some inmates who take full advantage of their jail time and do some very different RP and it passes time for them when they're in, so some of the issue is the mentality that it's an ooc punishment and people then going afk. But yeah, -1 for reduced time but +1 to any suggestions around improving the RP opportunities there and implementing more script changes that make sense and can improve prison life for both between inmates and guards and also when there's not many guards available so inmate-inmate interaction can be enabled some more. Here's a quote of my other message on that thread above: Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Can confirm also the same for DOC faction. Causes issues when we go into the cell block with only non-lethals and return from a code 0 with lethals and requires explaining to inmates we don't actually have a firearm.

+1 This would be great. Here's a similar suggestion with lots of support also:

+1 Honestly, I just want to be able to completely remove my tattoos
-
+1 I'd absolutely love to know if someone rated my RP good or bad and what comments they had on it so I could know what to focus on or avoid.
-
+1 It would improve the secondary market for things that aren't cars or houses, such as re-sale of removed furniture.
-
+1 Even if you can't browse other options, being able to just see your current customization settings would be great.

Regarding the comparison to /fspawn. With fspawn you get them from a garage and not a parking lot generally speaking so spawning in it makes a bit more sense whereas with the parking lots it's more like that the vehicle was just sat there and you're going to get it. I could kinda see the argument for having that kind of behavior with getting them from house garages. I don't think this is a change that's needed though.

Reducing volume of smaller safes could cause issues with item loss, and raising the price of door safes could cause inflation issues with price of them on secondary market so those options both have downsides to consider. Personally I like the idea of just increasing the volume of the large safes. I do think just having a wall of safes in an RV is a bit silly though.

I second Xoza's comment about secure and remove with a timer based removal

This suggestion is the best in the thread in my opinion. I really think a system like this would be a compromise between civillians who were sick of being robbed in public before this rule when shopping and refueling were unrealistically difficult, and crims who want to rob people and have some more freedom. Having a colour indicator on the "NCZ" area of the screen at the bottom left that would toggle between Red or Green based on location and time of day would be a simple implementation of this. It would mean care needs to be taken when being in shady areas at certain times and would free up a few more areas for crims whilst not screwing over civillians. I think something like that would also provide more roleplay overall and is a lot better than a complete rollback on the robbery rule from a civillian perspective and I can see how it would be a nice change for people who play crim.

(Remember, information in these posts is strictly OOC and using the knowledge IC is Metagaming) Attempted Prison Break & Hostage Situation The shift was going as normal for Solomon, he just clocked on duty and reported to the medical bay with Assistant Warden Reina Moraine to treat an injured inmate when suddenly he heard on the radio "CODE 1, AIRLOCK, NOW". Solomon and Reina, knowing protocol, both rushed from the medical bay to the airlock (The injured inmate was stable) and drew their firearms upon seeing the officer that called the Code 1 being assaulted by several inmates in the airlock. All but the one that was currently being processed left immediately, Solomon went to cuff and search the 10-15 that was left with Reina covering his back as per protocol. Somehow amidst the confusion, that particular 10-15 (Hugo Barr) had a broken bottle on his person unbeknownst to any of the officers, he went for a grab of Solomon's kevlar in an attempt to take a hostage. With quick thinking upon seeing the weapon drawn, Solomon made the in-the-moment choice to try and drop to the floor so Reina could open fire to incapacitate the threat...Unfortunately the Hugo had quicker reflexes and managed to take a firm hold of Solomon before he could do this, and had the broken bottle to Solomon's throat before any reaction could be taken. This was the beginning of the hostage situation. Hugo demanded Solomon unlock the airlock door to the cell block and lock the one to the corridor where the other officers were (The key-card was deactivated shortly after). This allowed 2 other inmates who seemed to be conspiring with Hugo to enter the airlock and added to their numbers, in the mean time Hugo began to make demands whilst Reina utilized her hostage negotiation training to attempt to get Solomon safe. There was a lot of back and forth between the two, talks of getting $300,000 transferred to their bank accounts and vehicles for an escape, all in the meanwhile LSPD, CERT and CIC had been preparing an ambush on the hostage takers. Through utilizing the maze-like interior of Bolingbroke Penitentiary, SWAT and CERT had moved to the corridor adjacent to the cell block. Their advantage was short-lived unfortunately due to the numbers in the cell block, all it took was a single inmate to get a brief glance at them for the initial operation to be compromised and a second plan had to be constructed. Plan B was to get bags of fake money and load up vehicles at the intake road and prepare for an ambush. With snipers set up long-distance and officers located near the vehicles they had every avenue covered in an attempt to get Solomon out alive. During the negotiations in the airlock things got a bit heated between the hostage takers and Reina, to the point where one of the hostage takers lit a cigarette and stubbed it into the corner of Solomon's eye with the threat that the next one will be directly in his eye. Solomon, heavily distressed, proceeded to wire transfer $50,000 to the main hostage taker Hugo Barr in an attempt to get him to order the other inmates out of the airlock who were clearly impeding the negotiations for both sides. This was successful and the negotiations proceeded and Hugo had agreed to walk Solomon out of the airlock with the other inmates to the vehicles with "cash" in them. With Solomon's .50 sidearm pointed at Solomon's head, Hugo proceeded through the interior of the prison to the intake road. Once outside, there were several officers waiting their arrival but due to the sidearm to Solomon's head they obviously did not take action as that would have put their colleague's life in danger. Hugo ordered Solomon to get into the drivers seat of the front-most cruiser and instructed him to start driving forward. Solomon drove slowly forward past Reina towards a group of LSPD who were waiting for the ambush. In the span of a second, the main hostage taker Hugo Barr was shot dead by a sniper once there was a clear shot and the rear vehicles with the other inmates in were fired upon by DOC officers. Solomon had made it out of the situation safe. The surviving inmates were detained once again and treated for wounds with attempted prison break added to their sentences. Following the situation and many thanks given to LSPD from DOC for their assistance, the team had a quick rundown of the situation and recognition was given to the officers that contributed. It was a long and stressful day for Solomon, he was ready to go off shift when he caught Reina alone and was about to ask her information on some of the details of the situation he was not clear on but she just hugged him tightly and had a small break down to vent. Solomon had not really seen her like this before. He thanked her many times and assured her that if it wasn't for her actions he wouldn't have made it out of the situation alive. This situation was followed by a meeting with an LSPD Deputy Chief Bacon and Commander Xoza Shadow, which was cut short by another Code 1 situation and a transport...but that's a story for another day. Solomon finally clocked off duty and went home to tend to his minor wounds and have a well earned cigarette break.

Let players rob anywhere again. (apart from NCZ's obviously)

-1 I can understand crim might be difficult for people right now for various reasons but this absolutely is not the reason nor solution for it. As Caesar said, the rule implementation was a HUGE civ RP buff. Before it was implemented you couldn't visit clothes stores (even the one down the road from Mission Row PD), refill your gas, buy food without needing to watch your back for fear of getting robbed which was awful as someone RPing a legal civillian. Especially when the height of the 'roleplay' was "*points gun at you* /me frisks them /do s?" which just isn't roleplay, it made it seem more like a cops and robbers server. The rule change allows for much more social civillian RP. Plus there's the other benefits such as new social hotspots like the pier as opposed to everyone being at the bank, which wouldn't be the case if people could just rob with no repercussions at somewhere that would realistically be populated. Sure, if i wander into the wrong part of town, or into a shady area or the middle of nowhere or a gang hotspot as a civillian I should, and do get robbed. That statement is VERY assumptious. There are many forms of roleplay and a lot was limited by the old way of robbery. The people who like PVP have PD/SD/Gangs to join with dedicated opposing factions. I think there's no need for people who want to have some more civillian roleplay to be punished for those who are here for a PvP experience. At the end of the day, the server should accommodate all types of roleplay as much as it can and this rule was a step in that direction. -
This IC press release Caesar linked that I put out pretty much explains both PD and DOC's procedures for taking and returning items. It's 100% an IC issue that you have. If you have any issues with the way it currently works you can always submit an in-character complaint or suggestions to the many communication channels linked in that press release. As for the bit about guards not being at front desk of the prison, well that's just poor timing of people not being online to help you, something that can't really be helped but at the DOC we've been taking measures to ensure the front desk is more manned and attended to when people are online. You mention things like fish are taken, do you think it's realistic for PD/DOC to store perishables like fish that would go rotten being stored for days? Pretty much this, just asking the officer arresting you "where will my items go" will probably go a long way as to whether you should go to DOC front desk or Mission Row. In terms of scripts on the server for this, PD/SD have a evidence locker system to store your items which I think is what @_Demon_ is referring to in the last part of his message and the DOC (Who does not have this script yet) have a tracking system for tracking inmates they process and the items taken off them.

The way I see it, crims shouldn't always be aiming for on-the-fly criminal activity. RP could be super interesting if gangs put a lot of planning into some crimes, like planting getaway vehicles, stationing people as distractions or something. I definitely don't want to say this kind of stuff doesn't already happen as I don't main PD nor crim, this is just me adding to discussion. But things such as 7 police cars and a heli on you in 5 seconds could be avoided with the right prep since a lot of people forget that's one of the main advantages crims have over PD, foreknowledge of the activity and prep time.

(Remember, information in these posts is strictly OOC and using the knowledge IC is Metagaming) The Correctional Medical Team Division of the DOC has 2 branches, the medical team and the psychology team. Below is a confidential file of a psychology review of one of our frequent inmates. He does not prove much of a threat when inside the prison but he requested an evaluation himself so he seems aware of his psychological issues and here at Bolingbroke Penitentiary we are committed to giving the best care to the inmates, especially those wanting to help themselves. This confidential file has been lifted from the CMT records with names redacted.

(Remember, information in these posts is strictly OOC and using the knowledge IC is Metagaming) This is a patient file pulled from the Correctional Medical Team records from when Solomon Cobb was attacked by 2 maximum security inmates when responding with other officers to a situation in the yard. Sometimes not all cellblock operations go well, but there's always staff on hand that are capable of dealing with severe injuries like this.

+1 Honestly the "open" on car doors should have the same animations as the first half of pressing 'f' or 'g' to enter vehicles. So when you check doors you go up the same way as if you'd try and enter the vehicle.

+1 Heck, even just having ((ID)) would be great
-
+1 Xoza's additions are really good, too.

+1 Even better if there would be a way to make these into freelance jobs that people could take the cash and/or hand over the order. I've always wanted to roleplay a fast food employee; "Welcome to burger shot how can i take your order"

+1 Honestly, for drinking water, the ocean is an unrealistic location to refill anyway. You should be able to refill at sinks and also publicly available water coolers.
