+1 For calling the cops this would be amazing, you should have the ability to quietly snitch - Me, a professional snitch

@ladypapercrown I think the issue is the rate at which that RP has been done. Sure crime is denser that it would realistically be, but the proportion of these "darker" individuals due to everyone wanting to be the baddest guy just is a bit silly in my opinion. Which is why I think the script change of selling human meat shouldn't affect people wanting to do this RP, there's nothing stopping people doing a /me consumes the flesh if they so wished. But selling it is just a ridiculous notion and I think it's more about the money issue as mentioned above, which I think there are many better alternatives for little moneymakers for crims than this.

This is actually something that's done a fair amount already. I've seen some events by Downtown Cab Co done there. There's also nothing stopping you, or other people in-character from hosting some events and getting them advertised. I don't think there is anything that needs to be changed in the game for these to happen. Your own suggestions of shops setting up stalls, boat races, atv races, swimming races, could all be achievable in-game already I would say. But, I'm always for more events!

+1 Just a bunch of quality of life changes to make poker that little bit more enjoyable. I really like the queue idea since this is meant to be a legal gambling venue and not some shady gambling ring so more order makes some sense. I also really like the high and low stakes tables idea, let the big boys play with other big boys for higher stakes. Also on the topic of poker, would love to see the buy-in price for poker in prison to be severely reduced from 1500 stamps to at most 500 (how many you come into prison with). Or have a way to utilize bank money instead of just stamps if it was to stay high.

In my opinion, when calling the police it should just use /low by default for the proximity of seeing the text. You're calling in a scene and it does not make sense that people across the road could hear you. I've had plenty of altercations with people from snitching when I thought I was a reasonable distance away and out of sight of them to call 911 but evidently not.

Welcome! This is definitely more in depth RP than you'd find on GTAO, so hopefully you enjoy your experience here on Eclipse RP!

100% agree, I've mentioned before that I think being able to drink ocean water makes no sense and there should be 2 kinds of water bottles, ocean water used for cooking and then drinkable water you can refill elsewhere e.g. coolers. However, I don't think one unrealistic thing is justification for keeping another.

I disagree with your point that hunting areas should be NCZ. NCZ should be reserved for high security areas. About the bit that it should be added to the unrealistic robbery rule: 15. Player Theft, Prison Breakout, and Kidnapping Robberies should be conducted in a realistic manner with reasonable in-character motive using secluded areas. Players should not conduct minor robberies in situations with high risk. Desert or forest areas are considered secluded but witnesses should still be considered. I think that hunting areas very much fall into that latter area and are realistic to rob people as they're extremely secluded. People can't randomly kill you up there still otherwise it'd be Deathmatching so if you've been killed there it must be from trying to fight back against a robbery. Now to the main point, I can get behind the idea of Park Rangers for sure, but there'd be a bit of clash with SD's jurisdictions that would need to be fleshed out a lot more in the actual role of said Rangers. The main issue is that hunting areas specifically are pretty wide and not many player density so it could be a large waste of time being alone up there for people who choose to patrol. I think this could be created by anybody and wouldn't need to be an LEO, someone could set up a faction dedicated to this cause and patrol with their legal firearms, bodycams on, and a uniform and act within the law and claim they're park rangers. And when they do catch someone robbing for instance, they do a citizens arrest effectively and call actual LEO's. This kind of RP could be hella fun to be honest. It's something I have considered multiple times trying to set up.

I do not really like the idea of repair kits since it would take away some RP as well as not really make sense that everyone carries them around and would know how to fix an engine. My little idea is as follows: First of all, I think we should get /mechanic and /newsagency function buttons on our phones. If you don't have a phone that's on, you can't call for these. Secondly, I think that if a mechanic doesn't respond in X amount of time (Or if there's just none on duty) then you can 'call' for Mors breakdown cover where you state a license of a vehicle, it checks if you're in range of it, it charges you a wad of cash from your bank and your vehicle is set to say 400 health (or something close to the minimum of breaking down again) with an /do of something like A Mors breakdown cover mechanic would get your vehicle working again This would require you to still go to a mechanic eventually to get your vehicle properly repaired.

I always thought human meat being able to be sold (let alone eaten) is pretty ridiculous. A lot of what drives the server is realism and barring a tiny tiny percentage of crazy people IRL, nobody is a cannibal and nobody buys human meat, even criminals. The use of human meat should only really be for the craziest of nutjobs to flesh out their RP huehue. I see no need for human meat to be added back to the markets, especially when some people ended up gutting their own allies after winning a fight to get that free food/$$$.

+1 Mayoral elections would be sweet civillian RP. Giving them some influence in the government decisions and some city policies could be very interesting.

+1 Could be interesting, as JBacon said, this can be proposed IC to the government also which could get the ball rolling.
-
+1 This could be pretty neat for people who do not wish to join a large faction for criminal activities.

@Itssmegol58 "DOC is really boring" and right after you say "I just jump on cod till my sentence is over"...Do you not see the issue with that statement? But to @Sodapopcurtis main point, So as someone that's High Command at DOC we do actually have stuff in place for more RP opportunities such as officers coming into the cell block for yard time, shower time, food, and exercise and a bunch of other things. Granted, we're limited by the script things that can be done in prison (basically just mining) but we work with what we got. Obviously there comes issues such as: Some people literally afk A lot of people just start fights for no reason Due to the nature of people always wanting to try and get a prison break we have IC policies regarding the officer:inmate ratio in the cell block which limits the times we can do this since it depends on DOC online vs inmates online which means we can't chill in the cell block all the time For some ridiculous reason, the only script thing for inmates to do requires a pickaxe...which can RPly be used as a weapon so that always has to be taken into consideration (I'm all up for removing mining and replacing it with some better script activities more fitting to a prison) I've been following a bunch of DOC/prison threads on this forum and I 100% get your frustrations and I personally am working on ways to improve that experience for people to lose the stigma that jail is an OOC punishment but you have to understand there needs to be some give and take also, for example inmates shouldn't just try and 1v1 a guard (primarily when we're coming into the cell block to generate some different RP like all the things you mentioned) as they're armored up and have weapons so trying to 'yoink' a tazer/baton/pistol on the off chance you get admin perms for a prison break after the fact. About your point that a lot of rooms in DOC aren't used by inmates, true, but they are actually used for various other activities such as processing, medical treatment, solitary and recruitment by the HR department or for inmate items. Believe me, there's not much else in the interior that would be able to generate much RP for inmates, let alone would make much sense to be there. As I said, some issues stem from the smaller faction number count when compared to PD/SD but I hope you believe me when I say the kind of things you mention in your post are very much things we're trying to push the faction members to do when there's enough people on duty and general duties are quiet (e.g. processing new inmates or retrieving peoples items from front desk or supervising a visitation) @Jbacon also has a very valid point, Some of the burden for creating RP falls on the inmates also to be willing to let officers in the cell block without a DM fest or 'all pile on the first officer and take them hostage when we dont have prison break perms'. And also them not being afk so often. And as he said, if you joined the faction you'd see a lot of the difficulties and frustrations our end when it comes to trying to generate RP for inmates. @AlbertoPanchino You know me and how much effort I put into trying to RP with you, so I hope you take my word that if you ever have an officer that does not respond to your RP that if you came to me with details or proof I will 100% chase it up as I push for very high RP levels with my faction members. But to summarize, these kind of RP activities is something we're trying to push a lot more recently (I even brought it up in the IC and OOC portions of our command meeting today) so I do hope that you see more of it when it's available and we're not a 24/7 faction, we do have quieter times where it just doesn't make sense officers can come inside the cell block or do things beyond chatting to you from the catwalk when it's not peak times on the server. And if any of you have any direct non-script suggestions for the DOC on an OOC level you can reach me on discord also at DrPathetic#0001

This is no longer true. DOC have the locker system (/accesslocker) so items are tied to specific characters and persist beyond server restarts. So yeah, any missing items DOC side is an IC issue from us not getting them from PD/SD or an officer not doing processes correctly.
-
If you're 'killed' in prison then you obviously can't avoid the general area you died but you should avoid interacting with the people who killed you and forget whatever incident lead up to your death as per the NLR. If this was adjusted it would just create a cycle of people killing each other over and over after being killed themselves since they're locked in a small space with them and wouldn't forget about the conflict.
-
This is not true, we do crack down on officers that afk as it's salary farming. But yeah as @Jbacon said, there needs to be some give and take as the way it currently stands we cannot enter the cellblock without a significant numbers advantage due to how inmates choose to rp a lot of the time. (most of the time it's "Guards have entered, lets attack them all" and a bunch of DM) Inmates should also be responsible for trying to have some fun RP with guards also
-
Hey Alberto my man, I always like to chime in on these discussions that mention DOC. I have voiced my concern in many discussions and suggestions on the forum about the lack of activities for inmates to do, The DOC do try and do RP opportunities with inmates when we can but obviously number of online officers vs number of inmates in prison is usually the deciding factor as to how interactive we can be. If there's any suggestions you have from an RP standpoint of DOC guards feel free to let us know as we do like feedback from people who main criminal characters. I do really think the prison needs some love when it comes to script activities as the way it currently is, the mining is 1-2 players max doing it before the ore's all gone and doesn't respawn for a fair while which doesn't really make it very viable (Even something as basic as changing the spawn rate based on number of online inmates). This below thread is a great suggestion you might want to consider throwing a +1 at. As for the jail time part of the discussion I can't really talk much about it as my criminal character does not go to jail often so I don't really have many opinions on that bit.

Think of it from a different point of view, what did they have that you didn't have? Certain vehicles, weaponry, backup? And then steer your direction to ways that can counter having those kind of issues.
-
Just to play devil's advocate, what exactly is the suggestion here? Just a general overhaul or something more specific? Something you have to keep in mind with a lot of the points you mentioned is people are raking in $100k-$300k from government jobs per IRL week, which means that the kind of high prices you mentioned make more sense. The "base jobs" you mention that pay $3k an hour, I assume you mean the freelance jobs? They're meant for new players to maybe get their first cheap car and bare essentials to cover them until they hit that 5k exp mark, are no longer new players and can get a more 'beefy' job that pays better. 'An easy solution to this would be to add more houses and apartments, bloat the market to the point where the price is somewhat average.' This already happened when apartments were added, many more 2g properties at a much lower cost were added. I totally agree that the scaling is a bit off when comparing housing, cars, furniture, and general items. But at the same time the economy is very stable and is not really an issue at the moment. I could maybe support a down-scale of everything for more realistic numbers but honestly I think as it is, there's not much that needs changing.

Not even for bayview, just for all water coolers publicly available. I've said before I think it's silly that you can refill and drink ocean water. Like there's the regular ones like in SD and bayview as well as these [pictured below] at places like the pier, DOC and some gas stations and stores which could be used for water bottle filling (heck, even if it was charged but at a highly reduced rate compared to buying water bottles)

1. Trucking Jobs / 2. Rent fee for renting a truck
Ash replied to John Kovach's topic in Game Suggestions
I like the idea of adding more depth to the freelance jobs to allow more civilian roleplay especially with the trucker job which has the shared radio. Chaining it like you explained could be more interesting and breathe some life into that freelance job in particular on top of the regular orders. A little refinement needs to be done for the locations and gritty details but otherwise I like the idea.
