    DOC Visitation Room

I personally did 3 visitations today myself so they're definitely getting done At the end of the day they're an IC luxury that we allow people to have when we can spare the personnel and deny for various other reasons. If you believe the system is broke then you're welcome to try join DOC to get any changes implemented or talk to someone in-character about it.

    DOC Visitation Room

We have a proper system. We allow inmates visitors if: a) There's enough other online guards to do the other stuff that's higher priority b) The inmate hasn't been a pain in the ass The code red thing is an IC status implemented from too much inmate violence, inmates fighting = not allowed visitations. IC actions having IC consequences. But overall, we do offer them and have several visitations each day, you must have just been unlucky with the timing or the specific people on duty.

    DOC Visitation Room

This is already a thing. Just go to prison and ask for a visitation and see where it goes from there. Obviously subject to online guards but we've always offered this option.
  4. I like this, reminds me of the Total RP 3 add-on in WoW, just a way to add more character to your character.
  5. First of all, welcome to the server and I hope any initial negative experiences don't turn you away. I think the main issue you've faced is that it's other new players that have done these bad things that either might not know the rules well enough or not be that committed to roleplay which is unfortunate considering the number of incidents you've had. I'd highly recommend getting Nvidia Shadowplay or something similar that records the last X minutes of gameplay at the press of a button, the overhead for this is very low and shouldnt really give you a performance hit and is worth it for you to report rulebreaks like the ones you mentioned. Recording is the best way to deal with rulebreakers and you can /report in game if something happens. The rewarding aspect from buying your first car and building yourself up from the incidents is a good opportunity for your character development and it's good to see someone who thinks of it that way. Sometimes you gotta take the L when you are figuratively and literally knocked down but if you can spin that into ways to progress your characters story that's always a win. You'll definitely pick up the quirks of the server and ways to avoid things like your vehicle being stolen and avoiding trouble etc for sure.
  6. I would recommend adding some formatting to your suggestion for it to gain traction, a wall of text is not very appealing of a read.
  7. +1 for this, as I've commented on several suggestions like this, just a way to maybe jump-start your car to get it to the bare minimum to take it to a mechanic (where another crash would stall it again) would be a nice compromise that doesn't take away mechanic RP as your car will still need servicing. +1 Similar to the /ringprison at DOC, but for PD and SD. Would be nice to not need to dial 911 or find a cop car about for a non-emergency. However with your complaints about the impound, I'm not sure how effective this would even be. -1 The stuff in lockers does not disappear after X amount of time like when we stored stuff on the floor before the lockers update. If there's nobody about, just come back later it's that simple. -1 I get the frustration, I've had that many times myself but I think impound interaction with a police officer is something that shouldn't be scripted to be automatic. Instead I'd prefer more of an IC push to get them to be more active with it where possible as opposed to scripting it like you suggest.
  8. Right now the only work around is to skip country select when setting it up in-game on the phone or do the initial set-up in your normal PC browser (https://lifeinvader.eclipse-rp.net/)

    My Issues with Eclipse

My main character got 2x General Misdemeanors in my first days playing on the server over something silly, like a week or two later I joined DOC, where I am today. They had similar policies to the other factions mentioned. Here I am still there over a year later as one of the people leading the faction, all it took was a bit of explanation in my application and interview and it was pretty much overlooked. If you get a felony on the other hand I don't think it's unreasonable to not allow someone with a felony into the likes of PD/SD/DOC. There's plenty of other factions such as mechanics, taxi service, news agency and EMS that allow ex-felons so it's not like there's a lack of options for people who want to go down the route if they stay clean long enough. I know plenty of characters that only needed to stay clean from very serious felonies for a few weeks and can get work in a faction. And I'm talking like very extensive charges of kidnapping, multiple accounts of murder etc. So compared to them, your assisting a GTA or whatever it was is childs play and shouldn't hold you back. I just don't see how this is an issue personally.
  10. I don't feel this needs to be added. There are currently script ways to sell your vehicle or property to other players in the form of on-the-door buying and high/low end dealerships. For trades such as car for a house, you can do RP contracts and should things go south from them scamming you, you can look for IC ways to get that money back e.g. reporting it to the police and have them investigate it. The scamming is the risk you take by putting trust in other people and trying to circumvent the tax associated with the script ways of selling vehicles/properties. People are not allowed to OOCly lie or mislead you with their ooc chat or /do's so providing all the RP of a contract is there and you cover yourself, there's no reason why you'd be unable to pursue it ICly. There are also other ways to not get scammed such as using a trusted middle-man. That being said, as the judicial system grows, maybe we'll see more proper RP ways for contracts that can be officially trusted. But overall I don't see a need for this to be implemented, it can all be done with RP.

    Stump jumping

There is a chance one of the situational questions (6 & 7) involved stunt jumping and this was overlooked by you. It might have been a typo of the person reviewing
  12. Ash

    Stump jumping

Do you mean stunt jumping? If so then it's when you do an unrealistic jump with your vehicle e.g. driving off a cliff or up a ramp to gain mad air. Whilst the GTA mechanics might make this not as punishing as IRL, you should aim to act realistic when in a vehicle so "stunt jumping" is when you perform unrealistic jumps as if you were doing stunts.

    Bus Stops on GPS

+1 It would make it so people are using the buses. I'm up for any suggestion that adds more actual RP to freelance jobs
  15. Welcome to the server! If I meet you I am hoping you pull a rabbit out of a hat and I'll be disappointed if not
  16. +1 The taxi shows the distance of how far away it is, I think this alone being added to mechanic + newsagent would be valuable as there's no way to know if they're still en-route That being said a blip on the GPS showing their location wouldn't be unrealistic as that's a thing for the likes of uber eats IRL so I'd definitely support this more
  17. +1 This is a good idea
  18. Sure, huge QoL feature. I don't dispute that. but -1 This is a classic "did i leave my stove on?" that people get IRL. You just go back and check it, its that simple. And if your carelessness of not double checking you've locked the door leads to you being robbed by a home intruder then so be it. I also really don't think this is such a common issue for it to even be bothered to be implemented. What I would support however is doors showing locked/unlocked status like business properties do instead of you needing to click "lock" to check if it does "unlocking" or "locking" action timer.

Add a bus stop to DOC

+1 Honestly I think a second bus route that also passes through Sandy and Grapeseed would be very useful as well as stops at the DOC.
  20. Back in 2006, "Tubbs" as everyone called him, was a 16 year old boy who'd lived with his elder brother Darius for most of his life. Darius was a high ranking Balla at the time meaning Darryl didn't know much beyond Grove Street and had grown up amongst the 'family' of Ballas. At the time he was too young to participate in anything too serious by orders of his brother but was mainly one of the scouts when the rest of the Ballas conducted business. Tubbs' main role was to keep out of the way and be on the look out for rivals, or cops showing up when transactions were being made or jobs were being done and then radioing it in to the rest when he spotted something. Tubbs had never got in trouble with the law doing this but gained some good knowledge on the streets from those higher than him. Tubbs got pretty close to one of the runners in the years he'd spent at Grove, Latoya, and as things escalated the two of them got real close and to the shock of them both, Latoya got pregnant. This was not good news for either of them as they were both 16 and definitely did not have the resources to bring up a child. 9 Months had passed and Latoya gave birth to a little lad. Latoya skipped town and left the baby with Tubbs who was not ready for this level of responsibility. Darryl could not bring a child up in Grove Street, he'd been there his whole life and knows that it's no place to raise a child so he made the decision to leave Los Santos with it and start afresh with the blessing of Darius. Darius gave Darryl his car, a trusty Buccaneer in the Balla colours to see his little bro off from the city. 15 years later Darryl gets a call from a lawyer claiming that Latoya is wanting to get in contact about seeing their child once more. Darryl was not happy about this as she chose to abandon them all that time ago and that she has no right to come back making these demands. A court case ensued and with Latoya being the mother and having a well-paid job, whilst Darryl was effectively living off scraps from his work as a garbage man, Darryl lost custody of the child even after all the work he'd put in bringing it up. Feeling at his lowest point Darryl returned to Los Santos to find his elder brother who he'd not heard from in about 8 years. Going back to his old home of Grove street he pulled up in the same Buccaneer he left in...but it was empty. Grove Street was a ghost town, no sign of his brother or any of the old Ballas. Maybe it's time he followed in his brothers footsteps...
  21. _______ To the untrained eye, the communicator hat might just look like a paper cone. That's what we want you to believe. The communicator hat is in fact a highly sophisticated piece of technology designed to keep Boofa out of our minds whilst simultaneously enabling us to get closer to Flarg. Core Materials: Paper outside To keep inconspicuous Foil ball stuffed in the inside of the peak of the cone To focus our energies to communicate with Flarg Foil lining on the inside To protect against Boofa trying to read our mind Tape So it doesn’t fall apart To stick all Flargs love together Markers To write “D.U.N.C.E” on the front for branding Dangerously Unstable Nuclear Cap Enhancements Optional Stat Enhancers: Secret compartment between foil lining and paper outside To store Enchantment powder* Glitter To sparkle so Flarg notices you more *Note: “Enchantment powder” = crack _______ The plan is simple: We take Scoobie’s car, Go to Weazel, grab paper, Go to PD, grab fingerprint tape, Go to Bayview, grab foil Go to SD, grab markers, Go to church, Have a nice cold crack drop, And wait for Flarg's apocalypse to blow over. Wizard Prophet Scoobie Bathsheba: The mastermind behind the plan The gang arrived at Weazel News Headquarters as with all the newspapers they put out into the city, they must have some paper going spare to kindly donate to the Bathshebas to make communicator hats. However, relations with the employees of Weazel News are not very good at this moment in time due to Travis Rashguard scamming Wizard Prophet Scoobie Bathsheba out of money that was meant to be for adverts for last week's church service. Instead of asking them we decided that Scoobie would distract Travis at the Weazel News gates whilst mason infiltrated the office. He made it inside and scoured the draws and cabinets for any blank, loose paper he could find. Mason, being the kind fellow that he is, at least left an “I O U” note on the desk on his way out. The grand plan was to go to the Mission Row Police Department and convince one of the officers there to donate some of their fingerprint tape to us as without the tape, the whole plan was doomed. It was a poor mistake on our part to expect the LSPD to do anything to help us, being the biggest Boofa worshippers in the entire city. We were denied our request and they all rushed off (not before one of them crashing into Scoobie & Mason’s communicator vehicles). The Bathshebas do not stop at the first hurdle, there is always a backup plan and today that came in the form of Los Santos Customs. Now, all Bathshebas are banned from LSC so we had to make this a quick in-and-out job. A few of us rushed into the workshop and were promptly told to leave but we had the numbers on our side, 4x Bathsheba vs 2x LSC mechanic. We split up around the shop and searched everywhere we could for any form of tape. Samoa came in clutch and grabbed some scotch tape, stuck it down his pants and we all made a bolt for it before the LSPD showed up that the LSC employees called. Here at the Bathsheba Family, we always try to go down the non-violent approach when possible and look for PG-13 options! Heist #3 was probably in the middle in terms of difficulty for the Bathshebas to pull off, we were greeted with open arms by a man Wizard Prophet Scoobie knew and were invited into the break room of Bayview Mechanics to get a roll of foil. THEN IT STRUCK - THE AGENT OF BOOFA Someone claiming to be higher ranking than the one who was welcoming us began to order us out of the room. Luckily there was enough of us to keep him distracted whilst Scoobie made the deal to ‘borrow’ some foil. We got a full roll of it under the promise we return the excess. To spite the agent of Boofa we also yoinked a spray can because f*ck him. We made our way from Bayview to Los Santos Sheriff's Department and wandered around the hallways looking for someone to inquire about ‘borrowing’ some markers. We found an officer seemingly locked in the Armory, he was extremely unhelpful and kept saying “help” like a baby so we took our business elsewhere. Kourtney with a K from the Department of Corrections was infinitely more useful than the child in LSSD, we approached the front desk of the prison as Mason had seen Kourtney with a sharpie in his last trip to the prison. Kourtney has proved time and time again she is standing with the Bathshebas even though she’s not a true believer enough to change her surname, she attends our churches, looks after our family members when in prison and helps us in our high-priority missions like this one. _______ _______ Once all of the pieces were successfully collected and the Heist was complete, the group headed back to the church of Flarg. Scoobie instructed Mason to lead the craft session and show the others how it is done and construct the first Communicator Hat. Mason’s recent trauma (keep an eye out here for “MasonVision” to find out what recently happened to Mason) made it difficult for him to cut out the correct shape from the paper but he persevered with the power of Flarg and constructed the communicator hat. After lining the hat with foil, taping it together and adding the “DUNCE” on the front he was all ready to present this hat to a new Bathsheba at the next church session.
  22. +1 I'd like to see a slight rebrand of the gov website to not just be emergency services now that the judicial and business licensing is prominent on there and have DCC/Weazel/LSC/Bayview have sections on that website rolled into it so all IC recruitment is in one place maybe separated by "Emergency Services" and then "Public Services" It would also mean that those other companies that use the main ECRP forum for recruitment don't rely on things like spreadsheets and google docs for IC information due to not having dedicated IC forum space for internal stuff that's as easily accessible as the gov forum would be. It would also prompt more non-emergency services people to use the forum IC mailing system and just generally have a single point of reference for new people to know where to go to apply for any job. Also...add a link to it on the mobile phone!
  23. _________ Mason Morrison was a wealthy scam artist running the Los Santos branch of The Epsilon Program, a “Religion” whose primary goal was enlightening those into the teachings of Kraff (Their Diety). Of course the real reason for this was to make money from the gullible and the whole thing was a scam set up by ‘Prophet’ Mason Morrison and ‘Prophet’ Jonathan Richards. In his leadership role, Mason scoured Los Santos for any idiots and vulnerable people with troubles that he could claim he could “wipe away” through the ‘religion’. Taking advantage of anyone he could he would charge them at minimum $5,000 for a ceremonial cleansing or baptism and sometimes up to $100,000 for extra reading material and ceremonies. Pretty much everything he did regarding this he kept a log of in his private notebook for easy reference if he was required to make something up on the fly. Mason made many contacts through running this scam of a cult/religion and more importantly, made plenty of money setting him up for life. The Epsilon program could only be sustained for so long though, with more and more people becoming aware of the higher-ups in the ‘religion’ effectively scamming the vulnerable and stupid people in the city people began to get sus. As some of the more loyal Epsilonist members began to lose faith Mason made the decision to ditch them all and make a run for it with the money he had scammed, re-spraying his light blue Epsilon vehicle black, trashing the uniform and wearing a mask around the city to go unnoticed. There were several close calls where he was almost noticed by people he had scammed across the city but his acting talents came in clutch, allowing him to get away unnoticed. Mason was ready to move onto his next big venture and started looking around the city for a new group to target. It was an average Sunday evening at Los Santos Customs, Mason was getting some well earned engine upgrades to his pride and joy Windsor Drop, the vehicle he had purchased with a chunk of the money he had scammed from people the previous months. A man with a child-like voice pulled up in a Space Docker vehicle which looked like it was made by Elon Musk as a child. This person was Ronnie Bathsheba, he told mason the basics of their religion “The Bathshebas” and how they are a family who communicate with their deity “Flarg”. Mason saw this as divine intervention for him to take these new targets and milk them for all they are worth. “If the rest of this family are anything like Ronnie, I’m going to make a killing” Promptly after this brief introduction, the rest of the Bathshebas rolled up and began being harassed by Los Santos Police Department and Los Santos Customs employees, always keeping the end goal in mind of gaining favour with these new cultists mason helped them and stood up for them, though there was a soft spot in Masons mind got him to stand up for these Bathshebas as he had often faced persecution for the previous religion he was leading by the police and government workers. After a Bathsheba or two was arrested and sent to Mission Row precinct, Mason talked more with some of their members and their leader Scoobie Bathsheba, who invited him to join their family/religion. A quick name change later, Mason Bathsheba was reborn. The Bathshebas instructed Mason to buy a “Communicator Hat” and “Communicator Vehicle” which he found to be ridiculous but for the low cost it seemed a worthy investment in the long run as he was still planning on scamming them for their worth. A few nights later the Bathshebas were going around the city parading their new mobile church, a RV decorated with many plants to go around preaching. “This is genius” Mason thought, worrying that the leader of the Bathshebas was maybe smarter than he was letting on. The night consisted of talking to random citizens across the city, inviting them inside and trying to get them to join the Bathsheba cause of worshipping Flarg and condemning non-believers. Mason was dedicated to the Bathshebas and did as much of their bidding as possible, whilst also trying to avoid their “Enlightenment Powder”...Literally Crack. Mason was trying his best to fit in but taking crack was the line for him. The Bathshebas routinely found themselves involved in crime from a petty level of being nuisances up to more serious felonies like assault of a government employee. Mason participated in these crimes as he has the money to burn in fines. His first arrest is a bit of a blur as it all happened so quickly but it came from the assault of a Sherriff Deputy alongside the Bathsheba leader, Wizard Prophet Scoobie Bathsheba. This kind of activity was a first for Mason as he had steered clear of obvious criminal activity and was used to more subtle ways of committing crime such as fraud and trickery. Mason was praised at the next church session and offered a promotion for his work serving the Bathsheba cause. Many crimes and church services later, Mason Bathsheba is now a Disciple of Flarg and recently got out of prison serving a sentence for Grand Theft Auto of a Government Employee. Mason Bathsheba is now a strong member of the church of Flarg and is continuing to try and recruit new people to the 'religion' wherever possible and conducting activities that would gain his favor with the Wizard Prophets, maybe he is getting too friendly with his new companions who treat him like family but the thought of money is in the back of his mind as he is running low on funds but whether he could actually go through with it when the time comes is a different question...especially with the current families goals of building a preschool for Ronnie & Winnie, could he actually stoop so low as to prevent that from happening. Mason is currently on the lookout to get hold of some "Enlightenment Dust" for the other Bathshebas, maybe he'll try some in the near future...just one won't hurt right? Tune in next time for "Mason tries Enlightenment Powder for the first time"
  24. But isn't half the point of all dressing the same and looking like a bunch of drones to not stand out? As someone that's around a bunch of people in the exact same uniform all day in-game, I can very easily point out name and badge numbers of those I have known for a while, with the newer trainees not so much. Which I think is exactly the point. And I'm not all for the toggle command as honestly I just think so many people will go for the convenience route and toggle it on which will defeat the points I mentioned in the last post and above.
  25. Gonna play devil's advocate... -1 I really like it and think that it will force more meaningful interactions and have you get more used to the voices and appearance of the people you're closer too. This bit I do agree with, especially if they need to /vr and even moreso if they do it in a vehicle. I think a compromise of just having ID's over heads that then expands into an alias when you press ALT could be a middle-ground. But overall I think the new way will just need people getting used to it more than anything and is better for immersion imo.
