Addressing the Culprit of Social RP: Player Robberies
Ezrya replied to Osborn's topic in Announcements
You clearly don't play criminal and haven't had to deal with the 6th person today running from doing criminal activity to a populated area and proceeding to say IC "can't rob me here it's populated" then proceeding to taunt larger gangs knowing they are protected by OOC rules. How is this not affecting criminal RP in a negative way? No one is necessarily arguing against the rule we have all said its definitely a step in the right direction, we are simply just pointing out some flaws within the rule that's leading to a large amount of ruleplay. Criminals abusing NCZ's for protection was already affecting crim RP this is just making that a lot worse on the criminal side of things and feel like something needs to be done about it or addressed. -
Addressing the Culprit of Social RP: Player Robberies

Agree with this, while the rule is for good reasons and I'm glad a rule like this exists now, it could still use some work. Lately I have seen a lot of ruleplay happening, many chases have just led to people going from chop shop for example to a public place then just saying "Can't rob me here it's a public place". It's essentially being used as extra NCZ's for protection by criminals. -
Completely agree here, I feel now wars have way too much OOC involvement. I definetly don't like the idea of being forced to have no interaction with my faction if WK'd. Most of my friends on the server are in the faction and it's allies so not being able to interact with them and spend money dropping colors would suck, at this point there would be no point in logging on. I'm not sure why someone else should dictate if my character gets to no longer participate in a war and even get to socialise with friends. I feel as if there should be some change here to where you can interact with faction members socially just not assist them in any way. As for gang wars being resolved through faction management this is completely unnecessary, this can easily all be done IC. While I can see these rules were made in good faith to further improve the criminal side of the server and to move gang wars away from just hunt, shootouts, wait for NLR and repeat, there's just way too much OOC involvement in wars now.

Couldn't agree more with this, when one of my labs blew up yesterday both a detective and swat with an insurgent were first on scene before FD ever were. Not sure in what world it makes sense where swat showing up with carbines in hand to what at first seems like a house fire. This is just straight up skipping any investigation RP FD could be doing and metagaming. The only reason realistically PD should be on scene at first is to assist with scene management until FD make the place safe and do investigations on how the fire started to which then PD would be involved once drug traces are found to conduct a house raid if needed. The best way to fix this is have a rule for PD similar to static drug labs where OOCly PD shouldn't know it's a drug lab that caused the fire until FD have done further RP into investigating the cause of the fire.

Love the thread, this could be a really unique faction if done right best of luck

-1 As already stated we don't need anymore NCZ's fix it IC by asking PD's help.
-
Yeah but I'm also sure the barriers didn't just magically appear out of nowhere too.
-
This sums it up perfectly, if I hit a rock going 270kmh in my rapid gt and stall due to going too fast ill accept that because it's my mistake and ill accept im going to prison I took that risk when I decided to go fast down the highway running from PD. But hitting a barrier that loads in at the very last second which I would realistically be able to see sooner feels like abusing to me.
-
I do agree people speed everywhere unrealistically but you can't expect people to go the speed limit when getting chased by PD ? In the end the render distance is getting abused by PD and SD constantly and once again I doubt a wooden barrier is going to bring a car to a complete stop and injure the driver.
-
So your trying to tell me a car going 200kmh+ hitting a wooden barrier would send the car flying and completely injure the driver ? Plus just saying slow down a bit doesn't work as stated in the original post most of the time these barriers don't load in until its too late to realise they are there to slow down. I can understand barriers being used at static scenes to stop RP being ruined but the problem is the fact that they dont render in until the very last moment is being abused by PD and SD.

Good luck, thread is looking amazing.

+1 Combat logging is one of the most frustrating rule breaks to deal with as it brings any current RP to a complete stop.
-
+1 I really like this idea, massive immersion breaker when there is ongoing RP in prison just for someone to be released and suddenly disappear.

-1 honestly. I don't think forcing members to leave the war because they died or putting a timer will help improve war RP. Yes getting chased constantly and being outnumbered can get boring eventually trust me im aware but as others have stated when you decided to follow criminal RP and join a gang this is the RP you signed up for. At some point especially as a criminal faction your going to make enemies along the way. In the end wanted is suffering the IC consequences for our actions. Plus not all wars have to end with disbanding or paying a certain amount of money. The whole war between zetas and wanted hasn't even been going on that long who know's how it will end. As for this timout idea I definetly like this, getting chased constantly or dying then going to parking lot just to get robbed again by the same faction can get boring. Plus I agree with the NCZ idea. Can be really annoying and just odd RP to be chasing a rival gang member just for them to hide in an NCZ to avoid IC consequences of the war. On a final note as someone in the wanted I have been having quite a lot of fun with this war to be honest and experienced nothing but good RP from all factions involved, having a timer or end date on this RP would just ruin the experience.

These latest stories are amazing, keep up the good work.

+1, I feel like this would be a reasonable price to the point where not everyone is using it but it's still worth buying if needed. As it stands it's just way too expensive for what it offers. I also like the idea of having different grades of body armour available.
-
+1 from me, not sure if it's possible but it would certainly be nice. Obviously the reason for having a certain car color in a gang is to identify each other so this would definetly be a nice addition.

As someone who RP's a criminal I love the fact that I now need to put some consideration into my actions before deciding to shoot at a police officer for example. As a criminal I'm now actually worried about getting caught by cops which is exactly how a criminal should feel, I shouldn't be able to kill someone then give a friend all my money, go to PD to turn myself in and watch netflix for 2 hours and get out to do the exact same thing all over again. I should actually feel worried about getting caught for the crimes im about to do and this change gives us a reason to. In the end these changes means as criminals we have to actually be smarter about our crimes now and carefully plan them out thinking if it's worth doing the time if we get caught instead of just running with the mentality "meh ill just do 2 hours and get out". For me personally these changes make being a criminal a lot more fun. Plus like people have pointed out already this now allows us to develop some really interesting RP from within the prison. As @MrSilky already said we need to focus less on the time limit and more on the roleplay.

completely agree +1
