Date and time (provide timezone): 23/04/2020 Character name: Cyrus Raven Issue/bug you are reporting: Certain vehicles are unable to go past certain speeds all of the sudden. My elegy retro is stuck around 170km/h, going over to 171-173 when going over bumps, but then immediately returning to that speed, when going max speed on a straight the speed doesn't seem to be capped the same way the 240 cap or /cruise is. Generally, /cruise means the car will flat line at the selected speed and never go past that, no matter the bumps or terrain. This bug seems to make car speeds fluctuate, meaning that they hover around 170, sometimes going very slightly over or under that speed. The exact same as above applies word for word for my slamvan, except it hovers and stays around a 145km/h speed. Expected behavior: Vehicles are limited Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Steps tried to fix issue: - Tried to repair vehicle at LSC, did nothing - Tried to turn /cruise on and off with L, did nothing - Tried to change /cruise limit to another number like 240 and then turning it on and off, did nothing - Tried putting the vehicles in parking lot, did nothing Vehicle license plate number*: - Elegy Retro: C0PKILLA (the second character is a ZERO) - Slamvan Custom: CYABITCH If anything changes I will update this bug report. Edit#1: Video of bug using a brawler - https://streamable.com/2glb82

Pretty simple suggestion, when a medical license is revoked it shouldn't remove the ability for people to /cpr, it should only serve as an IC indication to Law Enforcement that someone is not licensed to provide CPR (you can then couple this with a new law stating people shouldn't perform medical procedures without a proper license) It seems holy unrealistic for someone to magically forget all of their BLS training, as if this knowledge is tied to a piece of paper, anyone who already took the BLS course should be able to /cpr forever, if they do something do warrant a license revokal then the repercussion to doing /cpr will be an IC law break.

+1 (also add bloody helmets please)

Can we have full fledged racing helmets that cover the entire head. The current ones are geared towards MC cruiser type RP, I suggest adding Helmets that fit Racing car RP as well as Sport Bikes riders. More details for these helmets can be found here https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Helmet in the GTA 5 section. Example:

Reminds me of BHT from NGG, especially the dojo, hope to see good heavy RP from you guys! Good luck!
-
I think I saw an admin in another gang thread politely asking for the location to be removed to avoid meta gaming, thought I would let you guys know before you get the same warning. Good luck!

My dude, changing the way the economy works on this server could be beneficial, but it certainly wouldn't be in the direction of making money easier to obtain, if anything, it would focus on decreasing job payouts. I understand from a new player perspective it seems like things are hard, but that's how it is at the start. You grind, get money, build connections and hopefully move into something a bit more easier like an official faction or gang. One of the most brought up aspects on the server is how most gangs/criminals that belong to factions have sports cars and access to super cars, I don't think this would be the case if making money was as hard as you say it is. A game requiring someone to grind isn't necessarily bad, you only see it as bad because you don't have the time to play, which is fine, if this was the case then MMOs like WOW and BDO wouldn't be popular and everyone would stop playing, instead you have a server that has the biggest number of players out of any other English speaking server, which would go against your argument. All in all, change things around and make things that promote RP, I am totally on-board with you there, I just don't think that increasing the way to make money is the issue, I would argue the issue has to do with the lack of script support for RP opportunities and the player base Eclipse has cultivated in its existence.

I disagree with the majority of the original post, might make an effort reply later if I feel like it. However, I do agree with the notion that this server is mainly cops and robbers based. This isn't to say it's a ''bad'' thing, but it's far from the promised holy land of hardcore RP. From my personal experience, most people just want to shoot each other. Now this isn't to say that good RP doesn't exist. After I was banned for a few months and came back I couldn't really go back to my past job, so I decided to do some freelance work, selling and buying assets in the city, hanging out with friends, talking about current state of things, etc... I like this type of RP and have no issue with it, in fact. I don't think I've fired my weapon a single time since I've come back into the city. Onward to the solution. How do we fix these ''issues'' ? Well, from the time I've taken to think about this throughout my time playing on this server, the solution would come from the moment you start on the server, the quiz, specifically the way in which we let people on the server. Currently, Eclipse is advertised as a hardcore RP server, but the way we let people in seems to be faulty. Now, I have no data or direct knowledge on how this process works. But, I can base the following argument on the appeals and reports I see on the forums. There seems to be a lot of new players who get on the server and for some reason or another have no idea how to RP. The staff usually combats this really really well. They kick them or ban them and ask them to repeat the quiz, etc.. However, what I would suggest is that the punishments for not knowing how to RP at all are a lot more severe. The reason behind this is because we want to be a Hardcore RP server, not a light-medium RP server. We shouldn't be trying to be the first stop for a new person getting into RP and we shouldn't be teaching people basic RP skills like simple /mes and /dos, these should be lessons learned in lighter RP servers on RAGE/FIVEM or even SAMP. We want to cultivate a player base that is already knowledgeable on basic RP skills so we can focus on developing an actual ''hardcore RP server''. The above point brings me to the next suggestion. Do. Market. Research. I don't know how else to put this, one of the most basic steps of any business is market research. This involves competitors too. What are they doing that I like and can use for myself, etc... Simply put, one of the biggest competitors for eclipse (not gonna mention names, cause fuck getting banned) has quite a high RP standard, you can spend hours talking to people or at an event and very little of the focus there is on shooting people, although such scenarios definitely exist. One of the reasons they are able to do this is because they have a very strict entry requirement. They also allow for a lot more flexible script support to create businesses and gangs, and have a self sustaining economy (hopefully the new update will make this aspect similar in eclipse). My point isn't to say ''Eclipse sucks, just go somewhere else'', but it's an outside perspective from a person that loves this server and wonders why some of these excellent functions and RP enhancing qualities these other servers have aren't getting used here. There's a lot I want to say, but these are just my raw thoughts, I would be willing to discuss this with anyone. At the end of the day I want this server to increase it's RP quality, be stricter with the players they let in and use and improve existing ideas from other servers, ultimately making this server better. Also a bit of transparency and update on what is being worked on would be nice, we aren't running a secret community here guys, you already operate the largest server on RAGE and you probably have some of the most loyal players around, I'm sure they would love to have bi-weekly or monthly devblogs talking about new functions, rules, changes, etc..

((I wasn't aware. I agree, just thought it was being roleplayed since admins have been seen doing RP tests.))

To whom it may concern, Following the recent hiring of Commissioner Osborn and Commissioner Lewis, it seems that the business section of the government, specifically the registration and licensing sections have come to a stand still. Although these events may be disconnected we as citizens of Los Santos and faithful tax payers are entitled to a transparent and communicative government. As things progress with regards to COVID-19, the economic uncertainty created by such virus is already putting pressure on the businesses of Los Santos to act. So far, no government actions or advice on how to proceed has been issued, businesses are observing a halt in registration application handling and licensing, making it impossible to set up a new business with the government. Furthermore, no word as to why this is the case has been communicated, despite having ample time and means to do so. Given the above, I ask the San Andreas State Government to provide answers to the following matters: Why have business registrations and licensing come to a standstill ? When can we expect these to return to normal ? What is the current government advice with COVID-19 ? What are the number of cases in Los Santos ? Should businesses be closing down or remain open ? What steps, in the entire month both Commissioner Osborn and Commissioner Langley have been employed in the SASG, have been taken to bring a legal system into place ? Have plans been drafted ? Has recruitment started ? Are future law firms able to pre-register in anticipation of such a system ? A concerned citizen and tax payer,

Thanks for the input, if I may, is it possible to open up communication about this process. Just letting people know their plans are being reviewed, kinda like reports. I think the same applies for updates, the frustration comes from the lack of updates which feels unnecessarily secretive. People want to feel like they are involved in an active community that is transparent. I'm almost willing to bet the feeling of mistrust and loss of faith stems from the lack of transparency and ''status updates'' from developers and staff and not actually lacking the update itself. Just something for you to think about and possibly bring up to others if you feel like it. Again, thanks for the responses.

(P.S. My next response is assuming all the information given so far is correct, feel free to correct me) Ok, so as I suspected, seems weird to remove laptops and restrict criminals in this way without first having something to substitute it with. I understand if staff wanted to remove laptops and then maybe add a criminal update with the ability to negotiate for weapons in a different way, but as it stands it's they removed laptop with no IC explanation, claimed it was IC and have yet to give gangs any other viable options. All of this more than justifies the sentiments coming from criminal players. However, I don't think a bi-weekly event is the solution unless every event is custom and fits within the RP, as some have mentioned. I would however, support bringing back laptops until server management is ready to substitute it with an actual viable system, as far as I can tell it was done just for sake of doing it with no IC reason. (again feel free to correct me if this is wrong)

Do you know how long these proposals take to be looked at ? I sent one through the forums to SA+, but never got a response back, not even a ''we are looking into it'' or ''No, not possible''. Perhaps an official section on the forums where such proposals could be posted (and hidden to all except staff to avoid metagaming). As for the overall suggestion. I think criminals should have access to weapons in some way, but I can't really comment without knowing what the situation is as it stands. So @Goaldan are you able to elaborate on this point ? Has there been any progress in obtaining weapons IC'ly or has laptop access simply been revoked and no alternative given ?

As someone who spends a lot of time doing real estate RP, it is kinda annoying that weazel is limited to 10 house blips at any given time on the map, especially considering this isn't a faction limit, but one by the script. Please remove this, if the worry is people cluttering the map with house blips then make a command to /hidehouses or something along those lines, I doubt a lot of people would dislike having house blips on the GPS given that it's an easy way to know when I house is for sale. Hopefully this can be implemented rather sooner than later as I suspect it would be a simple removal of the limit or increase in the limit.

Should be the case. I am not entirely sure if the FPS issue scales up if cars get a buff (so if the base speed for comet is 220 and people with good FPS can go 300, will the buff make it so the base speed is 300 and people with good FPS go 380 or will it mean that everyone, including those with good FPS, are capped at 300). It all depends on this. If it turns out that higher FPS will still give people unfair advantages then a speed cap might have to be put in place.

This suggestion was thought up while reading the bellow thread which is now locked. I ask that anyone participating in this thread avoid insults as the other did, especially considering it is an entirely different yet related suggestion! Essentially, my idea is to increase the general speed limit of almost every vehicle, specifically newer vehicles and sports vehicles that would realistically be able to achieve higher speeds than 200km/h. My reasoning behind this suggestion is to focus less on (not take away) the influence of the money spent on a vehicle and FPS, making it so that what dictates whether someone escapes from an enemy is largely based on driving skill and not whether someone has a better PC and FPS or a more expensive car. I shouldn't be passing most super cars I meet on the highway with my slamvan. However, this change should also realistically give an advantage to anyone who owns a super or a expensive sports car. What I imagine is cops winning a situation based on their driving skill and not on an exclusive buff. Same goes for criminals, I want to see more tactics from PD/SD to stop you guys, I think this can be a real option if they have vehicles that go at decent speeds (unfortunately this probably has to be higher than IRL speeds, but not enough to win every situation, due to the fact that most people on the server own sports cars and a good number of criminals own supers.). Keeping up should be the goal and then actually catching criminals should be based on tactics and very good driving. This also means that the use of personal vehicles or drags would no longer be needed. You would have the crown vic which is a mix of handling and top speed for every day use, you would have the buffalo which would have lower top speed but better handling and breaking (for inner city chases), you would have the interceptor which is specifically used by TED to combat super cars and higher end sports cars, and finally you would have the police bike, which should be modified to have good acceleration and decent top speed (making it harder to control at higher speeds). How would this be achieved, well it would probably be done with developer support. In conclusion: Increase overall speed limit for most vehicles (specifically supers and sports cars) A higher speed for all vehicles makes crashing a lot more likely and shifts the focus on being a good driver and not just simply owning a expensive vehicle. Supers should be slightly faster than most sports cars, whether PD/SD/GOV make an IC adjustment to combat crims using this is up to them. Hopefully gets rid of the FPS game engine bug. This is obviously unintended by rockstar, but probably hard/impossible to fix in current state. Might open up possibilities in the future for having tuner vehicles, essentially meaning that any car if replaced with a good engine etc... can have a high-speed (but that's even assuming this suggestion gets accepted This is straight off the top of my head, let me know if you have stuff to add or any constructive critiques. If you disagree and like how it works right now that's fine too.

Typical capitalist brain. ''Hey guys I want to increase my fuel price cause fuck everyone else and I want more money'' also capitalist ''But if the government steps in to make sure this price increase in fuel is followed by fair wages fuck them and fuck the people''

A government sponsored truckers union should be put in place, only this way can truckers have some sort of leverage against the gas stations through collective bargaining. Sadly, any standalone efforts without government support are stifled by gas station owners doing their own deliveries or by misinformed truckers who are willing to do a job for no pay. A union would educate those who needed it, prevent owners from transporting their own gas and increase trucker pay.

Maybe that is the case for T20. However, SD HSIU are default.

The reason there are high fines and jail time is to encourage a higher level of criminal RP with secrecy, subtlety and intelligence. If you want to be obvious with your criminal RP and rob people in broad daylight, ask for guns at bank and speed like a mad man then you're gonna go to jail and maybe next time you'll learn to improve on how to do things. Instead of expecting to get a slap on the wrist for a ton of crimes, act like your character's life is actually worth something. We can have fun, but a type of fun that is serious AKA hardcore RP. I agree that many things need improving, including content and updates for both criminal and civilian RP, but excusing lazy RP and expecting carte blanche to do anything free of consequences isn't it.

Insane Prison Fines ~ Removing Auto Tickets For Speeding
Cyrus Raven replied to BishopCombos's topic in Archive
-1 The spots for speed cameras are very easy to memorise, not only that they are only place in areas like the Bank to prevent people from speeding like maniacs, which is what happened before the cameras were added. -
I don't mean to come off as confrontational, but I fear you are being bias here. ''I may or may not get those charges dropped, and honestly I mean no offense, Your own take on that is biased, your looking at what I did wrong, not what the officer did wrong, then swinging it around to effectively say "Shit happens, you were involved"...'' I gave you my opinion on the issue, admitting that I personally wouldn't have given you 3/4 charges you mentioned. How this is ''bias'' is beyond me, I explained my reasoning above, if you disagree with it there isn't much I can do for you there. ''That's why i'm pissed, that's why I know they stacked charges, and all PD will do, Is just blow it off...Charge stacking needs to be a rule, or they need to incorporate a justice system - One bad day for an officer, could ruin 10 peoples experience here.'' One thing you don't realize is that 80% of times you go to jail officers/deputies are going easy on you. In other words, you've committed a bunch of crimes and they could technically add a bunch more charges, but they don't. (This isn't with regards to charges that were in my opinion wrongfully added as was your case) Example: Guy robs a gas station and flees, going off-road, incorrect lane of travel, speeding all while wearing a mask. Usually I would give them: - Felony Evasion - Armed Robbery - Unlicensed Pistol However, in this case I am GOING EASY on them, as I am forgoing other charges which technically should be added, like for example - Felony Public Endangerment - Face Concealment Misdemeanour - Reckless Operation of a road or marine vehicle - Unlawful Assembly (if the crime was committed with 2+ people) - Etc.. Whether or not I add these charges depends on what happens ICly and if I do choose to add them they are in no way stacking charges because guess what, that's what you CHOOSE to do IC'ly, if you don't want the charges play safer and smarter. I will refrain from commenting on matters regarding your case in the future, I tried to be charitable, but it is still clear that you are angry about what happened, which I fear is influencing your opinion in an irrational way.

Pretty disgusting, especially the second video. Sorry that a few bad apples have given you a bad impression of law enforcement, I wish this wasn't the case.
-
So you've pivoted. First your claim was that police using drags is unrealistic. However, when pushed on the matter this view is supported by a situation that happened to you while lacking details of what led to that situation. So I'll ask you again and see if you'll answer this time. Why do you think PD is using drags and high-speed vehicles?
