  1. Ok I'll try and tackle these one at a time. Attempted Murder on a government official - In your case, shouldn't have been added, since the shootout was voided because of NRP, unless there was any other instance where you purposely rammed an officer in such a way that could be constituted as attempted murder (which from what I can see didn't happen). OOC IA and try and get it removed. Assault with a Deadly Weapon: Assaulting another person with a so-called "deadly weapon" which could include a gun, melee weapon, or a vehicle. In your case, the moment you blocked any vehicle and caused them to crash into you or you desync ram another officer you are liable for a assault with a deadly weapon charge. On one of the people you reported, it looked like you rammed them, IC'ly this would translate into this charge. Again, OOC IA with your video and try and get it removed. Knife Charge: Assuming everything you've said is true and you did not at any point RP your knife being longer than 4'' then this charge shouldn't have been applied. OOC IA report and get it removed. Armed Robbery: IC'ly Officers and Deputies have the power to charge and arrest anyone if they witness them committing a crime. From what I could tell people saw you leaving the area of the robbery and then you proceeded to help your friends who were being chased. All of these factors put together give enough reason for law enforcement to charge you with armed robbery. As for IA, as mentioned in this thread I can not speak for them, in fact what I said above is entirely my own personal views. I have a thread up from a few months ago about a justice system, I think that civilians should be able to bring in a lawyer and RP that if they want. However, as of now the only recourse you have is IA when there is a clear disagreement between the Officer/Deputy and the person being arrested. I take the same approach I do on normal OOC reports, if you want change to happen you have to report it, just make sure you are doing reports where clear violations can be observed and try and leave out the bits you might have included because you were angry or something, this allows IA reports to be completed faster.
  2. Let's calm our horses before this turns yet into another PD vs Crims thread. Can you answer me a very simple question. Why do you think PD/SD might be using drags or high-speed vehicles ? Do you think there is an IC reason for this or is it just because they felt like it ?
  3. I can happily go through this with you, but I fear that most of these issues are IC. For example, stacking charges. Both PD and SD have very strict rules against stacking charges. In essence, we have charges that can be stacked and make sense (If you shoot three officers you will get x3 Attempted Murder of a Gov. Employee) VS Blanket charges (If you flee from the police you escape then you get into another chase in 30 mins you will get x1 charge of felony evasion not x2, the exception to this is if it's clearly a different situation). When you talk about people stacking charges I think you mean Officers/Deputies giving you charges like Face Concealment or Possession of a Blade, which aren't charges given out very often. To make this clear, although these charges might be added because the officer or deputy doesn't like you IC'ly, it is important to make clear that this isn't ''stacking'' or even corruption. If you do a bunch of crimes and you remain calm, show regret and cooperate then law enforcement might go easy on you and forgo a few of these petty charges. However, if IC'ly you are causing issues, resisting and you've committed a serious crime then they might include all possible charges. I wouldn't consider this stacking, but simply giving you charges for crimes you've committed. If any of the charges given are wrongly given , especially in a malicious manor, not only do I agree that is wrong, but I encourage you to IA and forum report it. The second and final part of my argument relies on consistency. What I mean by this is that it seems like the standard of RP expected from Law Enforcement is x10 that expected from civilians and criminal factions. To an extend I agree with this, I think law enforcement in RP servers should be a staple of roleplay, mainly due to the powers given to us. However, there is a distinction to be made between roleplay standard and IC'ly adapting to IC environments. A good example of this was your report. In my view, it seemed like a lot of what you complained about was the behaviour of SD and how someone stacked charges. However, I don't think you considered why this was the case. You can not expect as a criminal to want leniency when you interfere in pursuits by following pursuit lines, not pulling over when you see and hear lights and sirens, circling around scenes and blocking police vehicles. If you want PD/SD to have chill traffic stops without 3-4 other units showing up then don't literally immediately talk on the radio as soon as you get pulled over and have your buddies circle the area and park their cars in the middle of the street four meters behind the traffic stop. This might not apply entirely to you, but this is an overall issue brought up. When you say you want things to improve it has to be a two way street. One that I want to see happen. I think both sides can improve, but this can only come about with a fair conversation and not forum threads that are essentially hit pieces on SD/PD disguised as ''constructive criticism''.
  4. Hmm I don't have much experience with IA and how it works. However, SD has made public it's suspensions and employee adjustments on the government website, so anyone can see who get's promoted, suspended and discharged. I agree that if an officer or deputy is clearly in abuse of power he should be given a punishment that reflects the severity of the issue. To quote Sheriff Wallace who posted the other day on another thread. ''I can't speak for IA as I never had any interactions with IA myself while in PD, but in SD we do usually solve a case within a week, if not two in rare cases. Though I have to say, a lot of IA reports are complete bogus and they take time away from dealing with the actual issues. We have one reported been spammed to us 6 times in short succession, and each time triggering the IA process. That report was a waste of time which could have been allocated to solving actual cases. I know this is something most people do not want to hear, but PD and SD are not and will not unleash the full possibilities and consequences that would be justified in a state with such a high murder and crime rate. ''
  5. Can you provide some evidence with your claims ? If what you are saying is true, then it should be in all of our interests to identify the issues and try and correct them, but this has to be done properly. In essence, if you make a claim back it up with some evidence, every story has two sides so machine gunning problems with no evidence gives us no basis to improve on.
  6. Is there any specific issues with law enforcement besides the individuals mentioned in this thread ? In other words, do you have any constructive criticism involving the majority of the law enforcement factions and not just a few individuals.
  7. +1 It seems weird to have so few cars, both dealership and donator vehicles. We have people willing to spend money on them. What I would suggest is to gather a tester team to test a bunch of cars (so we don't have any overpowered cars, but ones that are comparable to the current meta (some with better handling, but low top speed, others with good top speed, some that are good off-road, others with good acceleration, etc...) Then once testing is done introduce them to the dealerships as part of a major update.
  8. +1 Don't really care about the reaction, but the ableism behind feelschromosomeman is pretty disheartening
  9. We didn't decide this willy nilly, we legit had weeks of people posting pursuit logs to determine how many pursuits we were failing or losing. News flash, a retro is x10 better than a cruiser, all they have to do is start going around corners and using it's insane acceleration and they will probably lose the cops. Something you have to understand is that the majority of pursuits involve sports/supercars (let's not even mention bikes as we don't even bother to pursue those 90% of times) We are adapting our vehicles to what the majority of the pursuits require, we would never have to do this if criminals owning sports/supercars weren't an issue in the first place.
  10. We're talking about two separate issues. 1 - Criminals owning supercars and sports cars VS PD having boosted crown vics. I would considered these both unrealistic, so the solutions would either be to match the criminals and have better crown vics, which is what happened, or take away supers and sports, making them extremely expensive vehicles. 2 - Sports cars and sports bikes being able to go off-road I would argue this is unrealistic and would restrict both criminal vehicles and PD vehicles from being able to do this. You still haven't answered my question. ''are you willing to concede that both have to change or will you try and claim that only PD is ''unrealistic'' while ignoring the criminals and all their supers and sports ?''
  11. Well that's my point, just like it's unrealistic to have every cop with essentially a super crown vic, it's unrealistic to have criminals with supers or even sports cars, so the question is, are you willing to concede that both have to change or will you try and claim that only PD is ''unrealistic'' while ignoring the criminals and all their supers and sports ?
  12. You realize the only reason cop cars got a buff is cause every convicted felon had a sports/super car, does that in any way shape or form sound realistic to you ?
  13. I think that for these matters there should be a clear guideline, you can conceal weapons with RP if you are in a situation where you can't just /dropgun and put it in your inventory, if you do this you can not use the weapon until you RP taking it out. That's how I would do it.
  14. Of course not, which is why they would have something more suited for the city like Batis, regular motorcycle units or even drags, seeing as their main field of operation is the city which mainly has paved streets.
  15. Not everything is one dimensional. I don't speak for all cops, but as I mentioned, I would rather deal with BF400s that are going off-road because they realistically can VS allow all vehicles off-road while having strict rules for ramming vehicles (something that feels contradictory to me) You may have a ton of criminals on BF400s, but you will also have a bunch of cops on them too, that's how RP works, we adapt to the situation, just like we did with our cruisers VS sports/supers.
  16. Would also like to point out that RP hiding a weapon should really only be used in situations where you might have been pulled over by a cop and are hiding it under the seat or something (meaning you can't unequip it unless you ask to in /b). If you want to have your gun ready to go then you can use the script and equip it, just be prepared for it to show on your back as hiding a heavy weapon is very very difficult. If you want to RP carrying it hidden in a coat, gun-case, etc... then use the script to unequip the gun and bam, problem solved. This seems to be more of a complaint about how you can RP hiding the gun while at the same time having it ready to be pulled out at any moment to shoot someone, I would argue that you can't have it both ways.
  17. I mean this can be counteracted by having more actively deployed motorcycle units, specifically BF400 by SD, considering the terrain we operate in. I would rather limit vehicles going off-road for the sake of realism and then counter-act the possibility of people using BF400s with an IC update to units used by PD/SD, but that might just be me.
  18. I think people who have donated to the server should be able to use credit vehicles in other characters, but I don't know if it should be done on demand. Maybe introduce a vehicle transfer limit per week. So you can transfer your car to a character (you can only do this when the trunk is empty) and then the car will be locked in and unable to be transfered for a week.
  19. +1 Stealing a police car can be seen as non-RP, but that doesn't mean that there aren't situations that warrant it. No other vehicles have this limitation regarding the keys and not being able to turn the engine off unless you are a cop. So either make it the same as others, or make it so that if someone turns the engine off in their vehicle (manually through down arrow, not through stalling) it automatically needs keys unless you lock pick the ignition. So people who want to be safe can turn the engine off and lock the vehicle, providing two barriers to stealing vehicles. Not only would it make it more realistic, it would also fix the advantage by giving it to everyone.
  20. +1 and +1 for @alexalex303's suggestion. People being able to pay fines on their phone would be convenient, as for tickets going over the 12 day limit (3 day OOC) they should automatically convert to a failure to pay fine, although I am still not 100% on this last part. I like the idea of allowing players to pay their fines on scene if they get caught with expired tickets instead of automatically getting a charge.
  21. Yes, I actually agree, but I would argue that if death is the only option, he's already been shot and you guys have already killed other cops then he would at least try and fight instead of just taking it no ?
  22. Again I'm trying to sympathise with your POV, but this example is not even relevant. At this point he had been shot, he had his vehicle disabled by gunfire, the group pursuit had already killed a bunch of other cops, of course the option is to fight.
  23. Couldn't this be addressed with an update to the fearRP rules instead of limiting the access to weaponry that might be needed ? So if the issue with having heavies is solely because in your eyes you see officers/deputies rushing into situations like rambo, then that would be a failure to value one's life.
  24. Just for reference you can only get a shotgun when you are DS2/PO2, then you will only get access to an SMG if you are a SLO/Master Deputy and even higher to access the Carbine. You can get these weapons slightly earlier if you apply for SWAT/SED and even then these divisions and ranks are only suppose to use them if the situation requires it. Depending on the situation we might use heavies, pistols or just tazers, if you feel like you keep getting engaged with heavies it might be because you are rolling around with a large group, have heavies out , are known to have heavies or have actively engaged in multiple criminal acts. I think it's unfair to limit PD/SD's capability to retaliate given that the only reason we use heavies in the first place is to match the opposing force's firepower or to compensate for the lack of units VS any given group.
  25. Why do you think a cool down on weapons is needed given that from a realism POV a Police force should be better equipped ?
