Weazel QOL: New command, rather than /wro that automatically sends out a weazel ad in text, we need a new command like /WI or weazelinvoice to charge a customer for something that gets paid directly into the treasury, without automatically posting a message in chat. Minor change on what Ash said, give it the same right click functionality, but make sure it doesnt have the camera UI that makes it impossible to use for video content. Weazel shouldnt have to rely on sniper rifles to have a "camera" for video content. that way we have a photo camera and a video camera option Other QOL - change the interior of the furniture store, making it bigger, and the camera zoomed farther out or controllable, so players can see what item they're buying.

Diamond VIP should get more than five /fdo's

Arma 3 ACE mod is a very popular mod for the military simulator game, where it has a quite in depth medical system. would be neat to have something like that in GTA, but thats a big ask.

modify the tazer script so it interacts with the buff/debuff system. some drugs buff your stats, how fast you can run, etc. if you get tazed it should debuff your stats, make you move slower, then nerf the tazer, fire rate, reload speed, range. would fix the problem, without having to ad another tool.

what exactly do you need a 6th house for? Garage space? then the solution isnt being able to buy more houses, the solution is to buy more public parking spaces. storage? buy a warehouse / business property people dont need to be buying several houses for no good reason. theres a finite amount available, and people owning so many is a problem.

Weazel Weather Reports would be fun to add to the RP

Weazel heavily makes use of life invader, the IC social media site. LSPD also makes updates on it when a new media piece from them is released -
Idk if anyone else commented, but I very much do not speak on the behalf of Weazel. I'm just one dude speaking for myself from my perspective.

i mean, i have opinions, but complaining OOCly isnt going to solve that. the vast majority of whats going on is IC and should remain IC. Weazel got hit back to back in a short time span with chat update and then this IC stuff with Gov. just gotta roll with the punches, ICly it sucks right now and it will have OOC repercussions for the time being till its solved ICly. but things move at a snails pace anyways for everything, complaining on the forums isnt gonna solve anything for us.

More stuff to do is always a good thing, but increasing the value of stamps back to $3 per stamp is a bad idea. a LOT of people gamed the system to just barely make it into DOC with minimal fines to go profit from the trip. its still more than possible with the current $1.50 value of stamps. it shouldnt be profitable to go to prison, and it shouldnt be a primary way people make income.

Private cook operations were removed from properties specifically because people would just sit in their property cooking, not being out in the world. Being able to grow within a property would break that too. Which is why it should be only allowed out in the world, like private chops can be placed anywhere, so your have to hide it, or defend it from people out looking for them

Players should be able to seed and grow weed anywhere on the map (in the dirt on the ground) and have private grow operations. Players should also be able to place and run cooking tables anywhere on the map, removing the ability to place tables in instanced locations like RVs. How would this work? Solo players, small groups, and large gangs would be able to invest in large quantities of weed seeds, and drug tables, and be able to place then down like any other asset in the world. Pros Increased options for small, medium and large amounts of players to work together to have a private grow operation anywhere on the map. Decrease the clapper meta of circulating the three or less active labs every 20 minutes robbing and killing anyone who shows up Promote the idea that individuals have to now actually protect real ground/territory to defend their grow operation and private cooking from others interfering and stealing their product. Pranks can be made, having random weed growing in the front lawn of city hall? Cons Dev work? IDK? It would need to be balanced for privately growing a batch of weed. It would take a long time, but with scale, would be better to do than running public labs picking the naturally growing weed. It would need to be limited to only obviously dirt/ground that makes sense, so theres no growing weed in the streets or inside or on top of buildings.

-1 honestly less would be better. 15-20 even. More diversity in gangs, more active groups at different times, more RP options for interaction, alliances, war, etc. making them bigger than 30 would be going in the wrong direction. obviously this would have to come with increasing the frequency new official gangs are added, as officials are what quite a few people want to join or create, and it seems like its been quite a while since the last official gang was introduced, while several have quit or are not doing anything anymore.

This is why progressive tax rates exist IRL. the server has flat tax rates, so if you hit the next tier, you start making less money. and that next tax tier shows up quick.

Private chops can be built anywhere on the map. hobo huts can be built anywhere for storage, why not let people place tables and grow anywhere on the map? I think that would be an interesting idea, now there is actual physical territory gangs would have to actually control on the surface if they want to defend a cook, scrap, or grow operation.

Three were posted. five minutes passed, and another three were posted. if there was no other chat history to be seen, then yes, the ads would fill the chatbox. Considering that Shiro is high command and has access to the logs of when those were posted, I would trust that she checked that.

LEO players use the taser as a crutch, specifically because of how unbalanced and overpowered it is. its an instant "i win" button, with no negatives, and they rely on that solely to win a situation. The character i play is a non violent criminal. He is RPly drunk all the time. I have a permanent drunk animation on the character. that walk/run animation forces my character to be EXTREMELY slow. there is no possible chance that i can successfully run from a situation. I have been tazed DOZENS of times for non compliance, often times nearly instantly after a demand is made. its is engrained into how nearly all PD officers play, to just tase first, rather than interact RPly. i have never once seen an officer attempt to use the tackle mechanic against me in nearly 60+ arrests, and its a rare occurrence for a good cop RPer to use /do's. most just default to the taser to instantly win, even if there is a 100% chance they will "win" the situation, they just force the RP to end instantly with a taser. At the end of the day, It doesnt affect me as I actively seek out interactions with PD to end up going to prison. If they use their tasers the same way on other real crims as they do to a character like Billy Pappalardo who's quite well liked OOC'ly from LEO's, I can see why crim players are fed up with the system. LEO players will argue against any change that nerfs their power, but something needs to change.

I'm the Weazel News Advertising Manager in game. on an IC level some things can be changed. I can look into what options Weazel has and can look into testing some ideas. im open to suggestions that can be handled entirely as a player ICly, as I have no power over new scripts being put in, or whatever. Overall this would be a significant change to Weazel and how advertising works. 1. Chat spam: Weazel is only allowed to send 3 messages every 5 minutes. so people complaining that they see more than three coming in all at the same time isnt correct. The only time Ads are coming out more than three every 5 minutes is if someone sells an ad, which upon payment received, the invoice automatically sends one, so theres a chance that 4 ads could go out in quick succession. 2. Blocking / Moving Ads: Weazels entire income is almost completely supported by Ads. people buy ads specifically because they stand out so much and are seen by every player on the server. Making a simple quick toggle to disable being able to see them would drastically cut interest in buying ads, as most people would immediately just turn them off and never turn it back on. That would effectively kill all revenue for Weazel instantly, which is something that cant happen. I'm actively working on creating new revenue streams, but text ad sales is the basis of what Weazels income is, and touching that would be a significant blow to Weazel. I would say if you have your phone off, Weazel News ads should not show up. that seems reasonable. a command to turn them off or burying them in the terrible phone system we have would effectively Kill a significant part of Weazel. 3. Color variation vs uniformity: Its a current IC policy within Weazel that people who make the ads are expected to use at least two colors, and some sort of emojis / icons. This system allows Weazel advertisers and Weazel customers to individualize their ads, do custom stuff to stand out. People pay for the ads in game specifically because they stick out and draw attention of the rest of the playerbase. A significant part of being an Advertiser at Weazel involves testing and practicing making appealing, interesting, eye catching ad designs. Obviously, lots of cooks in the kitchen making different ads for different people, there's not going to be any uniformity in the ads. Theres a few potential changes that could be made to limit the "rainbow" of all the ads going out, but overall i think that would be a significant change within Weazel, and would be a disappointing loss for members of Weazel who enjoy the process of designing a quality ad.

oh yeah 100%. I verge on cop baiting on that character just to start an interaction to be involved in RP, and have no problem regularly going to jail. I'm sure I've been to prison well over 60 times now on that character. lol. I make sure to offer good RP from playing that, and basically everyone i interreact with on that character OOCLy is a fan. Was definitely using that situation just as an example, showing that even as a known non violent crim/civ, I commonly get LEO responses like that. Personally, it makes it more entertaining for myself, and i ham it up for everyone involved to make it fun, but i can very much see it from the POV as a real crim player, that kind of response that happens regularly would be extremely demotivating. There needs to be a push from both LEO and Crim to make a change and improve interactions across the board, and thats a massive undertaking. A lot of people see it from an outside perspective, and see these recommendations being made, but nothing being changed or tested, so people get frustrated thinking they're being ignored.

i play a non violent criminal. ive given up playing my actual crim. the average PD / SD response to crimes is insane even for my non violent crim. drunk driving 40kph down the road in the city. having 10+ units respond, helicopters, and being boxed in with ARs pulled is giving people a fair chance? this is how PD responds to calls regularly. if i had something to lose like a true crim with assets, yeah, i would want to quit with how unfairly PD responds to stuff.

yep, tasers are heavily used as an "i win" button. ive been tazed countless times for the mere fact of being handcuffed and walking around. no running, no trying to fight, just, not immediately complying. I've been tazed repeatedly while already knocked down. never been combative or attempted to fight back, but being spam tazed as a way to abuse the system to prevent movement rather than being interacted with RPly. sure, its an IC issue, but its allowed to be this way because tazers are so powerful, and need to be addressed OOCly on rules on how they can be used, or need to be scriptly nerfed heavily. how to change the tazer: 1. buff it by letting the taser shot effect your characters stats like drugs. some drugs give you bonuses, taser shots should do the opposite, so that every time you're hit with a taser, you lose run speed. 2. nerf the reload and fire rate of tasers. tasers are heavily spammed right now due to their power. reduce their fire rate drastically and increase reload times.
-
modify the tazer script so it interacts with the buff/debuff system. some drugs buff your stats, how fast you can run, etc. if you get tazed it should debuff your stats, make you move slower. Making it scriptly supported is far superior than making "you can only get tased 3 times" in the rules.

set up a system where you can chose to be paid clean cash, but a lower amount (still needs to be higher than current payout) , or marked bills, for a higher amount, from selling scrap car parts. that way there's options, take the easy cash and just move on, or take the marked bills and process them, for a higher payout, but more time and risk. could also have a NPC stolen car buyer where you can just drive the vehicle up and sell it, no manual labor to disassemble required, for cash. similar to how players can sell stuff to the pawn shop, no questions asked.

Weazel is unable to access CCTV cameras scriptly... why?
Demonmit1 replied to Demonmit1's topic in Civilian Suggestions
anyone can request anyone for their security camera footage, it doesnt have to go through law enforcement IRL. a news company would typically send a request to whoever owns the camera to access to the footage, be that private, business, or government. from there the footage could be saved and handed over to news media for making content with it. the problem with that in the real world vs in game, the footage in game is only saved for 30 minutes, so if you dont get it right then and there, you dont get it at all. RPly we can request the owners of the camera, be it a private, buisness, or government camera, permission to use the camera, but thats all IC handled. because of the 30 minute limitation on the CCTV footage, we're time gated to access the footage. it would be unreasonable to expect us to IC contact whoever the owner is, hope they're logged on, call LEO's to access the footage, and have it handed over, for us to use, within a 30 minute timespan, when we RPly have permission to use them, but its not supported by the script, when the script already exists for others who also have permission to use them. We would be able to pull the footage, and then send a request to whoever owns the camera for permission to use it. when the footage only exists for 30 minutes, its unreasonable to expect us to email, wait 3 days, get permission, and then the footage is gone. lol " they cannot just go into a store and ask the shop manager for the CCTV footage for a news story to cover on TV" yes they can. we cant willy nilly use the footage whenever and however we please, theres IC ways to handle it, just like we cant willy nilly pull out sniper rifles for camera use and use them whenever and however we please.
