  1. The core of the issue is the script. it shouldnt be based on IRL days. change the script so that its based on hours, (or minutes, so we can go back to the IC "months" of suspension terminology) and let law enforcement / gov handle the punishment length ICly. give players the choice, dont limit them scriptly. if an LRC member wants to put the effort to reduce it, and it gets voted on, give them the option. if law enforcement want to extend it for more serious crimes, give them the option. there's no chance for that currently. The fact that my character even HAS a drivers license still is wild.
  2. i dont understand what part of the suggestion you dont understand? theres nothing in the suggestion saying cops shouldnt have access to the vehicles and assets they need to do their jobs, and there's nothing in the suggestion that would take vehicles or assets away from police either. if you break a cruiser, you cant /delcruiser and spawn that same model for a set amount of time preventing instant repairs. thats the entirety of the suggestion.
  3. it scriptly prevents you from accessing freelance jobs that require you to drive a vehicle if i remember correctly, which is a lot of them. ive seen new players just confused and stuck over a reckless for speeding, getting their license suspended, going to jail, losing their car, and unable to afford a taxi to go anywhere, and unable to do most freelance jobs to pass the time, so they log off.
  4. I'm pretty sure it stacks from my experience. it just adds 24 hours to whatever you got left. even if it doesnt, what happens when you only have 1 car? the new player experience with this mechanic is rough.
  5. im aware of at least a few instances of a crim pulling a gun to hold up a lone cop, and before the crim can make demands, the officer presses their panic, allowing them to do so without being under FRP. the same doesnt happen for crims. if you are at gunpoint by cops and then change freqs, you've effectively broken fearRP, cause theres now a 4 second timer to change freq. why this isnt the same for law enforcement makes no sense. the fact that cops even get to still use their radio when incapacitated is already crazy. its not a realistic type argument, its a balance type argument. cops shouldnt be immune to fearRP, and should be scriptly limited just like non cops. or revert the timer for changing binds.
  6. no, setting up the binds takes time. you bind each frequency to a physical button on the radio itself, so you're still only pressing 1 button to change freqs, so the argument that pressing 1 button for a panic is different than pressing 1 button for a bind change makes no sense. if you want to get really specific, why wouldnt you not have to press and hold the panic button? its an emergency button, it should realistically be set to be press + hold, so an accidental bump doenst set it off.
  7. then why does it take 4 seconds to press a button to change binds?
  8. Crims just got a radio nerf for Fear RP sakes, putting a timer to change binds. law enforcement should also have a timer on their radio when interacting with it. the bind change is 4 seconds, make the panic 4 seconds.
  9. just change the script for 1=day to 1=hour, and then law enforcement / GOV can work out the specifics ICly on how long in hours suspensions should be. (double to triple your sentence would be a good place to start) The logic of a 24 hour license suspension but a 3 hour prison sentence is bad. the prison time is set up to be minutes = months, so having 1440 months of your license suspended by that logic is just fucked. lol
  10. you're also missing the entirety of the context of that post. someone else argued every faction that has the ability to spawn cars should be included in this suggestion, not just law enforcement. other factions only allow a single vehicle for a new faction member. law enforcement doesnt. if a junior advertiser at Weazel is the only one clocked on, and their only vehicle they have access to, the Weazel Rumpo, gets vandalized, should they just be told to get fucked and not do their job of responding to ad requests or be able to go to blip requests? no. factions that dont pursue criminals shouldnt have to have a gameplay balance of not being allowed to instantly /delcruiser and spawn a new one. as a Cadet, theres a single vehicle, the transporter, you're allowed to use specifically to only drive to impound. but there are seven vehicles a cadet can use and drive basically off the bat during training. law enforcement has enough vehicle selection from trainee to chief to support losing access to one for a few minutes if they park it when very damaged. thats the argument. understand the context.
  11. a timer on /delcruiser and respawning the same cruiser model if it was damaged, be it engine damage or popped tires. thats the entirety of the suggestion. you break any cruiser, you cant /delcruiser and spawn that same model for a set amount of time.
  12. its not a problem with any of the vehicles, its proving a point that law enforcement have more than enough vehicles to sustain having to lose access for a few minutes to a specific model they get damaged. Others were arguing they have infinite amounts of every cruiser to justify being able to delete and respawn STX's over and over again. but they dont use any of their other cruisers. they have enough other models to support the suggestion. its not about any specific cruiser/highspeed, its about if you get a specific vehicle damaged, you shouldnt be allowed to despawn and respawn it instantly. there's plenty of options available to switch if you need another vehicle quickly.
  13. Buffalo, all three cruisers, scout, stanier, transporter were all allowed for me to use in ADAM patrols as a cadet after i passed the driving course.
  14. -1 so, the concept is entirely logical, and I completely see where you're coming from. but from a gameplay perspective, blunts have a mechanic as a player buff, that is instantly applied for full effect when you interact just once with the blunt. being able to share that player buff to as many people as possible from a single item i think would be an overall bad game design decision. blunts are incredibly cheap to produce, so just having multiple to share is simple to handle this issue.
  15. this is why. Law enforcement have more than enough selection to support losing access to one for a few minutes if they wreck it. (BTW this is what a cadet can spawn) Edit: if i remember correctly, at least half of those are ICly allowed to be accessed by a cadet.
  16. if entry level civilian jobs had multiple different types of vehicles to chose from, then sure. make it for everyone. but they don't. Law enforcement have multiple to switch to as a brand new member in the faction.
  17. factions that dont actively pursue and are against criminals have no need for this, as there's no requirements for that balance of play. entry level positions in non law enforcement factions that have vehicle spawning typically only have access to a single vehicle. entirely preventing Weazel / JB / Mechanics / EMS from doing their job would be dumb. Law enforcement is fine, cause even as a cadet, you have access to 14 different models of cruisers.
  18. at the end of the day it doesnt matter what crims drive, or what crims can do, or strategies of crim vs leo. non law enforcement dont have a dozen places across the map they can just delete their car and spawn a new fresh one. if i wreck my car I have to go through the process of finding a mechanic on duty, requesting a repair from them, waiting in line if theres other people waiting, getting an invoice for the repair, waiting for the scripted timer of the repair and the RP of the mechanic, and then my car is in good condition again. law enforcement completely avoid that and can just despawn/respawn their car instantly. while the department should cover the repair and not charge them for damage, they should not be able to instantly spawn in that exact same car when theirs gets damaged. that is the suggestion. criminals have a 24 hour IRL timer to get their car back if they wreck it in a chase. as we can see, most law enforcement cant fathom a 10 minute timer for theirs. if you want to instantly swap the type of cruiser, great! you can still do that under this suggestion. you have your cruiser you really really like drive but someone fucked it up and you dont want to lose access to it for a few minutes? you can solve that too, just go get it repaired at a mechanic shop.
  19. Who is the suggestion for? - Criminal players that are sentenced to DOC Why is the suggestion being made? - a way to add more interactions and things to do within DOC What are the pros and/or cons of the suggestion? - more people actively doing something within DOC, less AFK sleeping in a random cell. How should the suggestion be implemented? - place the game in an area accessible by inmates and set up the script simple suggestion. set up a couple arcade machines within DOC's inmate area that you can "play" that is effectively just the same picklocking minigame for vehicles. have a machine for easy, medium, and hard difficulty speeds, or let you set the difficulty. this would be an IC way for players to RPly learn the minigame, improve their reaction times with the minigame, and something new to do within DOC other than litter and laundry. (mining doesnt count, no one does it) Could set up some sort of rewards system if you succeed the minigame, rewarding stamps for completing the minigame. or not, and just let it be a training item. either works.
  20. The solution is allowing players to build their own public "private" lab anywhere on the overworld by letting us set up tables anywhere. there are public chop shops in static locations everyone knows about and can use. BUT, you can buy your own and set up a private chop hidden somewhere on the map, and have a private chop. why cant we do that with tables? why can we not set up a private cook on the map like we can with a chop? Having a private cooking lab in an instanced location is bad, and I agree with that change, but completely removing the entire concept of a private lab is bad. The obvious replacement is having it work just like private chop shops. placed on the overworld, where anyone can stumble upon it, and you have to protect it by more than a door lock.
  21. yes, it would be inconvenient to no longer let law enforcement delete and spawn vehicles as they wish, and force them to roleplay with other players who are mechanics to get their vehicles repaired quickly by paying the repair fee everyone else pays, or have a timer for their cruiser to be repaired for free by the department. It's almost like people are playing on a server like this to have player interactions, and this current system discourages that. you even said yourself: why is law enforcement allowed to avoid any interaction with the three mechanic factions in the server for the sake of convenience? law enforcement have several dozen vehicles available to use. 95% of law enforcement use the STX and Scout, because they are "meta" from law enforcement perspective. It would also only affect those who misuse their vehicles. do you regularly stall your cruiser and thats why you dont like this? encouraging variation in what cruisers are used is a positive thing, and punishing law enforcement players for misusing their equipment regularly is a positive thing. its an odd game mechanic that the all powerful law enforcement are allowed to delete and respawn their cars in the middle of a chase to instantly fix damage. its not a "realism" argument its a balance argument
  22. i think the solution would be having two /alias systems. keep how we alias people right now, but it reverts to no name after a week or two. then have another /truealias that both parties have to agree to, to have it be permanent. Paying for cosmetic surgery should also reset everyone's alias for you.
  23. just to explain more. this is generalized, this isnt you @Bala you as dezzy bala have always been one of the exceptions that reacts accordingly to the threat, plays fair, and overall just enjoyable to interact with every time ive ran into you. theres maybe a couple handfuls of others that are genuinely wonderful to interact with. BUT, the general mindset of your average LSPD player is exactly this. it doesnt matter what character im on. I can be on my actual hardcore crim, Billy the drunk, my new crim, or my legal, and get treated the exact same way by your average officer. you have high ranking people in your faction that play like this, display these attitudes, and set this expectation on how things are done for your lower ranks. you need to play a crim that no one would recognize and experience it. make a crim, come find Billy or Raymond, and spend a day with me. i'll show you what its like as someone who actively plays with a high standard of RP on RP heavy characters. ^ this is the average experience. less and less people are willing to put up with it.
  24. cool, its fun to head on ram a vastly inferior car that has no chance of escaping, so you can instantly shut down the RP and win as fast as possible, going so far as to non RP ramming without pushbars so hard that you're stalling your own vehicles, that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to stop a $2000 car. but you dont give a shit cause you can just spawn a new car instantly and be on with your day and go do it to more people. lol its not a LEO issue, its a LSPD issue. i can drive a scrap car against SD and they'll use logic to take it out, set up barricades, spike traps, and then go in for a tactical pit. LSPD dive bomb rams you until the car blows up the moment they see you, or they just shoot you. lol. two people died from that race cause LSPD started shooting. Three cars blew up from getting rammed. LSPD damaged/destroyed millions of dollars of STX's to take out $25k worth of cars as fast as possible. thats the way LSPD likes to have fun, playing "realistic" my favorite "realistic" part is getting grenades thrown at me while im evading in a scrap car. cause that makes sense.
  25. did you not read what Bala said at all? bala said exactly what i said but i replaced crim with cop. im sarcastically copying what he said word for word and you're complaining about me saying it but not Bala... lol about 3/5 officers in LSPD's idea of fun is to have unlimited guns, cars, armor they can freely spawn in to overpower and punish players with no downsides or balance. the server entirely caters to law enforcement and has repeatedly nerfed criminals. at what point is there just no one left for police to RP with? cause thats the way its going.
