  1. The idea is that a private chop and tables would all be rebalanced on their costs, since there would be no free option available. 150k import on a toolbox is already so prohibitively expensive, it would need to be reduced massively, like $30k-50k. Yeah, being in your own private dimension locked away printing money was poor for the server. But the current way labs work is also less that ideal in the best of circumstances. Completely removing public tables and chops, and letting players place them anywhere on the over world map (not in a property) would be a significant change in how things work, and I think it would be for the better.
  2. which is why the suggestion of a blanket statement of, "you wont get a refund on assets if you were actively involved in criminal activities" is a way to remove any subjective part of it, no assumptions required, no need for proof of intent of the report. A report should be made for a rulebreak, not because someone lost a fight. having that blanket rule with the option to appeal would ensure the intent up front is to combat the rulebreak, not throwing the laundry list of rules at someone hoping something sticks so you can get your stuff back for free.
  3. This is the goal, to fight against the current "report culture" and this suggestion is a potential solution towards that, and people can discuss from there about the pros and cons i couldnt think of up front.
  4. fair, an accepted cheating report should be an extreme circumstance for refund. they're few and far between, and are a big enough break to justify a complete refund Valid concern and I agree with y'all on that. What's the punishment for reporting? I don't understand how there is a perceived punishment for reporting someone in what I've said.
  5. That's why I replied in a single post with two staff members getting notifications of it. The question wasn't directed specifically at you and only you. The point isn't to force people to not be crim. The point is to reduce petty, toxic forum reports made by players against other players in the hopes of getting a refund. A lot of forum reports end up being made in the hopes of getting assets spawned in as compensation because they lost, not because a rule was broken. if they had won the fight, the report would not have been made in MANY cases. The compensation system encourages these types of reports. A blanket, " you can't be refunded assets if you're actively involved in a criminal activity" statement would likely heavily reduce petty reports.
  6. fair, an accepted cheating report should be an extreme circumstance for refund. they're few and far between, and are a big enough break to justify a complete refund. I guess this ends up being a matter of opinion. with my "remove public labs" suggestion, a lot of people agreed that there is no roleplay happening at labs, so what roleplay is being disturbed? 99.99% of labs interaction is someone grinding money, and someone rolling labs to steal from people grinding money. are staff not removing assets from people who broke rules to gain those assets? that in itself should be a problem then.
  7. Hey look, another controversial forum suggestion. Let's go over why I think this should happen. Forum reports from players against other players that initiated while being involved in a criminal activity should not have the option for compensation or reimbursement, full stop. No extreme circumstances, nothing. No chance for getting your stuff spawned back in by admins. Why? You’re intentionally putting yourself in a risky situation, knowing the risks of losing your assets, and going into a situation aware that it could happen. The current “meta” of forum reporting over any fight claiming DM, nonRP, FearRP, ruleplaying, etc, in the hopes you get your report accepted to receive reimbursement of your lost items is a waste of staff members time and fosters a toxic OOC atmosphere. By all means, if someone broke a rule, report them for breaking that rule, but if you yourself were actively involved in a criminal activity that initiated the rule break, your options to receive a refund should be removed, as you knew the risks of doing those activities. The main pro to this point is to reduce the likelihood of a player or a faction mass reporting another player or faction over a gunfight that was lost. A lot of these forum reports come across as petty at best if you take into consideration that they are all initiated by either side during a criminal activity, be it labs, robberies, etc. The current report system encourages these mediocre, petty reports as the chance of getting a refund is worth enough effort to bullshit up a forum report. More often than not, these reports are denied, but the chance they get accepted is worth it to these players to waste staff time to get their stuff back for free. I had also brought up in the FM 2.0 feedback that faction punishments have not been a thing, and FM staff should be more proactive in moderating official factions for petty reports, but thats a different suggestion at this point. Pure, random deathmatching wouldn't be covered by this, and would be up to staff interpretation, and with the appeal system, players have an option to escalate if they disagree, so there’s avenues to follow if you disagree with the denial of a refund. Refunds should overall be restricted to pure, random intentional rulebreaks, glitches, and server issues causing loss. Removing the ability to receive a refund if you make a report on another player / group while you yourself are involved in criminal activity would be a big step towards passively moderating petty reports. Whats your thoughts? TL;DR - Requiem summed up the intent really well, better than I explained in the post above. This TL:DR better explains the intent of what I was going for. This is the goal, to fight against the current "report culture" and this suggestion is a potential solution towards that.
  8. while law enforcement arent supposed to be highly trained emergency medical responders, the people who play law enforcement should still be held to a high standard on their capabilities to provide realistic RP in /me's and /do's. a bandage and ice pack doesnt fix everything, and law enforcement should be trained to better RP stabilizing a gunshot wound like a military soldier knows the basics to stop the bleeding. ive seen some VERY poor levels of experience out of law enforcement when it comes to realistically treating gunshot wounds. but the same goes for crims getting treated. I regularly go above and beyond when it comes to proper GSW treatment in the field, providing realistic, adequate medical treatment to reduce bleeding from severe wounds and multiple GSW's. and theres been several times its just been straight denied, requiring me to force RP, or just ignored by the crim cause they're upset they lost. so its a two way street. death RP overall is a big -1 though. there's a chance you can die, get NLR'ed and avoid the repercussions of your RP choices. but if deathRP was allowed, people would just bitch and cry in /b anytime they get /cpr'ed or /stabilized. really this all boils down to the DOC RP experience for crims, theres fucking nothing to do, fixing DOC to be more engaging for crims to be at, would fix people complaining so much.
  9. oh yeah, color can be whatever, was just an example, and i coudnt think of a color different than red for MD, since panics are already red, lol
  10. MD calls are already yellow for the map blip, this was more just for backups, backup response, and unit changes. scripted 911 calls could do with a minor change, making ATM calls and similar calls say what region, like hawick, chaparal, etc its coming from, rather than being color coded. but that would be a different suggestion i think.
  11. Who is the suggestion for? - Law enforcement players Why is the suggestion being made? - to better organize dispatch chat spam, to help all government faction players to better quickly understand dispatch with it being color coded for easier understanding. What are the pros and/or cons of the suggestion? -pros: more organized response from the different LEO factions to their own calls -cons: dev work? How should the suggestion be implemented? - apply some logic to the dispatch chat system to have SD/PD/DOC/EMS/GSB dispatch calls color coded so, this is a pretty simple suggestion, make the dispatch chat for LEO's color coded based on what faction the player is currently clocked in as. for example:
  12. staff have ruled that helicopters are not subject to fearRP.
  13. As someone who's got a bit of a reputation for making suggestions on ways to balance cop vs crim interactions, there's some justification to this suggestion, but the solution is not the right one. Honestly, I believe the current way blunts work is bugged. You are able to get the full effect of the drug without any negative side effects (the visual change screen shake stuff) Currently you use a blunt by clicking use on it, them tossing it instantly, not pressing O to smoke it at least once, which causes the visual impairment. Every other drug causes a visual impairment in exchange for the buff, except blunts. The solution is make the buff only apply after pressing O to smoke the blunt once, which triggers the visual impairment effect. This isn't a cop vs crim argument. Blunts are just bugged.
  14. this is why the whole concept of public labs needs to be removed, so many people treat it as a PVP redzone. just remove the system entirely. will fix so many issues.
  15. i have a very high end PC, and since December has rolled around im constantly getting lag spikes and freezing up. The snow and the RP around it is great. the random fully decorated Christmas trees on every street corner and center of every intersection makes no logical sense. they shouldn't be a thing.
  16. the solution to that is just not allowing people to randomly run through vinewood and check the UI's of doors to see if they're an active robbery. that is just pure metagaming. If you're not allowed to use every other menu and UI for IC information, this one shouldnt be allowed either. robbing house robberies shouldnt be removed, but the idea that people can just run through vinewood hills and check random doors till they find one is so dumb. if you wanna rob people robbing houses. camp the dealer, track the person as they make the contract purchase, then follow them to their destination. that seems fair. randomly checking for a UI on a door that says "This house is currently being robbed" is straight metagaming, theres no argument against that.
  17. The meta around banks is really boring. if you dont have a hostage, you have scouts and dip the moment a cop is seen headed that way. the goal is just to get money, not have any player to player interaction. thats why you see everyone disperse in every direction on bikes, as thats the most effective way to profit from a bank with minimal loss. If you chose to interact with cops, like having a hostage, you already lose. Currently, the only way a bank hostage plays out is cops surround the bank, and after some talking, shoot everyone. some cops in charge seem to like the concept of shooting fish in a barrel, and prefer the instant win over more interaction with the chance the crim gets away. on the RARE chance they do let a crim attempt to evade, they barricade the entire place in with invincible barriers and set spikes everywhere to completely shut down the evade attempt right outside the bank. This is one of many instances of the play to win mentality law enforcement on this server has that people complain about. you're not given a chance as a crim, your only option once cops show up is die or give up. What should change is, if you have a hostage at a bank, and chose to interact with cops, the cops should willingly accept the hostage in trade for a chase. this is the best option overall for everyone in terms of RP and fun. Cops save the hostage that crims took, so positive RP. Crims get a free 5 seconds to start evading, giving them a choice to react. Cops and Crims get a chase, which basically everyone enjoys the process of being in. all of this allows so much more interaction to happen, but its actively not being allowed to happen by law enforcement side. If players spend the real time and effort to acquire a real hostage to use, they should be rewarded for that RP effort. having a hostage should be the correct way to do a bank, as it should ensure a fair evade attempt by law enforcement without getting instantly shot at. The way law enforcement currently react to hostages at banks actively discourage RP, and promotes the current no interaction bike scatter meta.
  18. this would open up a massive can of worms to OOC toxicity and complaints of favoritism and "insider trading" I think the concept is neat, but the thought of admin controlled passive income for players on the server would overall be a net negative for the players.
  19. more objects, places, and scripts that support more interaction between players would break your immersion and damage your roleplay? you must never have gone garage saleing. some people are just like that, lol whats the point in making more options and interactions players can do on the server that would be unique? there's been a couple IC "bottle collection" events hosted by SASG, but having an actual scripted support for doing that would be neat. wanna RP as a homeless guy? make all your money by just picking up cans and bottles for money. Own a resturaunt? have busboys on staff to collect the trash and bottles for reimbursement on the cost of food for the company. every player at some level would interact with this system, since everyone needs to eat or drink. giving more things to do isnt a bad thing, and as i said in this old suggestion, theres real life examples of how this works linked.
  20. the same can be said for phone text logs, call logs, bank records, etc. all of those require staff support to acquire once a IC warrant is issued. why would this not be the same? if law enforcement need info, they can request a warrant from a judge and be given logs. they do that already with anonymous posts.
  21. from what I can recall, and seen lately, cops will pull a lethal weapon for a felony stop. if you're evading, thats a felony, and i see that as justification to have lethal force quickly useable, by having a firearm out. Should LSPD become more strict in following/enforcing their force continuum? extremely. but thats an issue to bring up with their faction command or LFM, not really a server rules issue.
  22. https://ace3.acemod.org/wiki/feature/medical-system if something like this existed for GTA 5 it would be really neat.
