Rare occasion I actually agree with @alexalex303 The main benefit of criminal activity selling to the NPC dealers should be order power, not money. Those NPC's work for the cartel, they're not just random money generators. if you want to make money, sell it to someone who needs it for order power. other than that, sounds like its time for your crim to get a day job. when I was high command of a gang, I had a full legal job, and was regularly buying bulk drugs for import power and selling guns for profit while working on the job, getting both salary and side income from criminal activity.

My bad gang -
I really do get it. DCC core members are incredibly tight nit and y'all put in serious amounts of time and effort to have regular internal events is probably the best I've seen on the server from my varied experience across from, civ, crim, and Leo characters. I've been in SD, JB, Weazel, Bayview, Benny's and DCC. But, the issue with DCC is that overall this is a videogame that people play mostly for cops vs crims, and DCC is intended to provide a service, but through IC regulations, OOC faction rules, and how the scripts propping up DCC work, the faction as a whole is entirely inconvenient to the player base. DCC is entirely only held up cause the script for taxi service is only supporting DCC. A freelance taxi job option being available with the same script functionality would kill DCC in it's current form, and overall would increase availability and convenience for the general playerbase. DCC could potentially still function as a salaried option, but the extremely overbearing IC/OOC rules and expectations heavily discourage players from joining or sticking around. DCC takes itself too seriously, honesty more seriously than law enforcement does. If DCC heavily cut back on restrictions, more people would have an interest in applying and sticking around, taxi service would be more available, and the playerbase woulnt need to be making forum posts brainstorming ways to substitute things because of DCCs failure to function as a service. When there's 5+ taxis at 5-7am NA times when the server pop is at 60-80 players standing around on duty talking amongst themselves or sitting in their taxis alt tabbed out at the bank, but during peak hours when there's 200-300 people on the server 12 hours later and there's only one on duty driver blocking every player from accessing citybees, the faction has failed its core function, and has been for a long time now, a negative impact on the server as a whole.

im not familiar with this, is there a report this happened in? They're both risky actions to take. I hate to reiterate whats commonly said by other LEO mains, but situations that escalate to requiring a gunship escalate to that because its a reaction to whats happening on the ground. If a gang is going to barricade themselves in an area with heavy weaponry like like machineguns and assault rifles, law enforcement are going to respond with overwhelming force. I agree, whether its a gunship or just a patrol helicopter, if you're taking rounds or getting shot at, the pilot should be expected to back off and reengage from a different area or give it some time to return. Shooting from a helicopter isnt and shouldnt be considered nonRP, but Helicopters should still be expected to follow FearRP rules, but staff have decided helicopters are immune to fearRP, which is a bad decision imo.

Id have to disagree with this one. Scripted cameras are an approximation of what happened. It's a scripted recreation of a car or a person, but it's extremely buggy and inaccurate to what actually happened in game. Ldo camera rp allows for a back and forth conversation, allowing the person being ldo'd to respond in a way they think is reasonable. If you think an ldo request is too "powergamingy" discuss it with the player who sent it, intentionally be vague, or ask for staff to assist. I've been on both sides of it, and the person responding is more or less in control of the outcome. Use that.

I specifically was told by management, "just sit in your car and watch videos on your phone, you're not allowed to interact with people." didnt stick around in the faction much longer than that. Driving Taxi was actually a lot of fun but anything beyond afk salary farming at the three designated parking spots alt-tabbed out was punished by DCC faction leadership. I specifically would clock off anytime management showed up just cause of how stupid it was. Devs should offer a freelance Taxi job, and let DCC do their own thing as they please for however long they last till they follow along with LSC and get disbanded or figure out how to fix their staffing issues and allow players to RP in the faction. never got a response. was fired not long after.
-
DCC crushes taxi RP. the faction is anemic at this point, most members log on during low pop time to afk salary, no one is ever available during peak hours when theres actually players wanting to use the service, and faction leadership actively encourage afking salary, and discourage RP. should just be a freelance job at this point. if people could just join a freelance job and drive a taxi, availability would be through the roof. Wild to actually admit DCC is so inconvenient to the playerbase.

agreed. statistics, and staff going invisible to watch people with crazy stats and reports should be the way to go.

Yous be shocked what an active scouter can do to prevent a lab being watched. Your be shocked what basic information security within your own gang could do to majorly hinder investigations. (Coming from someone who was high command of shadows, we actually took it seriously) Turn your phones off. Break your phones and Don't have one. Don't recruit random people and give them all your information up front. Gangs recruit people who are KNOWN for regularly jumping from gang to gang, have no loyalty, and then wonder why people snitch for personal benefit. All these gangs recruit people just to have numbers for fights so they can win PVP but investigations take advantage of that sloppy low quality way most gangs handle recruitment. Maybe don't runaround in the open with heavies? Keep them in a glovebox, trunk, bag till you actively need them. Be more sneaky. Control your idiot friends who run around in the wide open with heavies for shits and giggles, cause there the ones fucking you over. Probably the ones who are CIs too. It's like they do it on purpose... On the note of calling in DOC to help push a lab. I can't recall a single time I've seen DOC or GSB called in to push a gang in lab. I've been in 6 months and I'd say that's never happened. GSB / DOC get called when OTF or others like LSK used to shoot over a traffic stop and then run to colorful parking and shoot at all the cops, when cops leave the area they'd push out and hunt cops all over the city till they get pushed back into colorful parking and keep shooting again. That's when DOC/GSB gets called for help

1100 hours and 6 months on my SD and I just am now able to even drive a kamacho. Still won't be till at least 3-4 more months till I can drive a jugular. I have access to the D10 but it's in every possible way inferior to the buffalo stx except straight line top speed. It needs to be replaced with the vigero zx. Let's not forget that the vigero zx is a $350k car that easily does 240, and you can earn $350k in about 5 hours as a crim, and then you have the car forever. Or the D5 that does 230. Or the monstrociti that's $220k that does 225. Or the brioso r/a that does 220 and is $25k, or the vivanite that does 210 for $180k and you can shoot heavies from it. Law enforcement don't have an equivalent for any of these cars. The closest thing is a jugular which only supervisors can deploy. Every criminal is driving a cheap vigero, d5, kamacho, monstrociti, or a la corouse/ jug / niobe that law enforcement don't have a vehicle equivalent or it takes at least half a year of active play and promotions to be allowed to use

If you don't want DOC/GSB responding to all hands code 1 situations, LEO shouldn't be expected to follow NLR for responding to active panics. Gangs hunting cops at NA night times to wipe us for no reason other than boredom and wanting PvP is a stupid interaction that happens a lot. LEO just log off to not deal with it, cutting off access for players to do any atms, stores, or banks just cause the crims got bored and wanted PvP

Reduce All criminal charges sentence length by at least HALF.
Demonmit1 replied to Demonmit1's topic in Criminal Suggestions
again, you didnt even read the post, you read the title and chose to say this without any thought beforehand. there is no cap reduction being requested. the problem is the cap being 180 minutes, and no matter what you chose to do, non violent turning yourself in if you get caught, or shooting at cops and losing, you still get 180 minutes. non violent crimes dont scale to the max sentance at all, so there's no point in not being volent, there's nothing to lose. non violent charges being so long compared to the scale of the low 180 minute cap, encourage PVP cause theres no added consequences for doing more violent crimes. "You had the clear option to get a shorter time," THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN. THIS IS THE PROBLEM. there is no shorter time for turning yourself in cause the charges still add up to 180 minutes anyways, so crims chose to be violent cause there's nothing to lose. the scale of non violent crimes does not work with a limitation of a max sentence of 180 minutes. non violent crimes get added up to 180 minutes. violent crimes get reduced to 180 minutes. everything is always max sentence no matter what you do, so why not evade or shoot to have fun since theres no difference? -
Reduce All criminal charges sentence length by at least HALF.
Demonmit1 replied to Demonmit1's topic in Criminal Suggestions
this is exactly what the current script encourages. there is no jail time difference between turning yourself in or shooting, so most crims choose to shoot cause its more fun. the issue is the max cap. to be honest, increasing it would also be a fix to this problem, but increasing the cap so people spend more time AFKing in DOC isnt a good decision for the health of the server. I dont want the max cap to be reduced again, that would be silly. Im saying that charges should be scaled to the max cap, so violent charges more easily get you to the max, when non violent charges shouldnt give you also max time. currently non violent charges still give you max time, so crims have nothing to lose if they chose to shoot. either way its still max time. scale the charge times to the max cap will fix this. -

did you not read the post? LRC takes almost a year to have even the most basic changes be done. LRC is not a viable solution to fix an OOC issue ICly. especially when SASG is corrupt and keeps motivated people out of LRC by breaking the constitution to do so... -

Demonmit1 replied to Demonmit1's topic in Criminal Suggestions
no. I want criminals to be able to carry a fully kitted loadout to have a reason to just cut their losses and not attempt to evade or shoot, because the time in DOC between just turning over your gear and taking the loss would be SIGNIFIGANTLY less time than attempting to evade or shooting. i guess i didnt explain my POV super well. currently a full kit turning themselves in gets the same time in DOC or almost nearly the same time in DOC as if they attempted to evade or if they shot at cops. if you turn yourself in you should have less time. but because the max time is 180 minutes, the full kit reaches nearly 180 minutes, while the attempted murder + evading gets lowered to 180 minutes. Yet this is highly common. Suppressed .50 for quiet, long range shooting, with a pump for when shit hits the fan. the amount of people I've arrested with this exact kit is wild. .50 plus pump is the default LEO kit too, theres a reason why its used by crims all the time, its incredibly versitile. yes it does? SUPER common charge list: Class 1 - 30 minutes Modifications - 25 minutes Class 2 - 60 minutes Drugs while armed - 25 minutes suspended license - 25 minutes face Concealment B - 10 minutes 175 minutes, 5 short of max sentance. the difference here between this and attempting to evade is 5 minutes. the difference here between shooting or not shooting, is 5 minutes. ditch the class 1 for body armor as a felon, or add in body armor as a felon, etc etc. it ads up to max time or basically at max time for just turning yourself in. its dumb. tack on resisting and failure to comply, since thats still a common double charge that gets placed, and again, no violence, still get max sentence. -

Demonmit1 replied to Demonmit1's topic in Criminal Suggestions
the part of the charge that matters is the fines. Sure, we could increase the cap if DOC was remotely anything close to being worth playing inside of, but its not. theres nothing worth doing, no RP to be had, all it is is an AFK timeout box for 99% of crims. DOC isnt going to get an update to make it better for people to play and have fun inside, so reducing the overall time spent in DOC i think is the correct way to go. Time spent in custody, being transported, time served in prison having to AFK it, then time spent to earn the money back that was lost adds up to a HUGE amount of time for players going to prison. the least enjoyable process of that is DOC cause there is no Interaction, no RP, nothing. so reducing the time players spend there is the right way to go, since we are not getting any DOC dev work before GTA 6 and the server dies off. -
Wow, what a controversial title. But yep, I'm actually suggesting that. Before you lose your mind over this or that, actually read the post before commenting. To prevent this becoming some anti LEO conversation, here's some context. I have mostly been playing LEO, with just about 1200 hours on the server i have a criminal focused character with 1500 hours with experience as high command of an official faction I have a Civ focused character with 1300 hours with experience as command of an official faction This is not a Leo vs Crim debate and lets not make it that. SO, the problem. Max sentencing on the server is limited to 180 minutes. while this is great to reduce the impact of bad charges being placed, or charges stacked to a large amount causing high prison times, its created an unfortunate dynamic for criminals vs LEO that I think is one of the core problems on the server. receiving a max penalty should be reserved for the highest crimes committed, or committing several violent crimes at once. This currently isnt how things work. Evading, with adding on additional charges, can very easily become max sentence. This puts criminal players into the mindset of, "I'm getting max time anyways, might as well shoot at them too to see how many i get, and get to use my gun before i lose it." Admin Lewis recently posted a QOL forum thread, and said one of the goals is to reduce how often people shoot. "I'm getting max time anyways, so i have nothing to lose" i believe is a core reason why people shoot at LEO. So why not make DOC better? well, that would be perfect, but that development is just not going to happen at this point. The simple solution is reducing sentence times. that way, big violent crimes will still get the max sentence, but a couple basic charges tacked onto a single evasion doesn't also boost you to max sentence. Why not do this ICly through LRC? because the civilian/gov side of the RP is taken way more seriously than Criminal RP. no one in their right mind ICly would accept reducing all charges being halved. this is why it needs to be handled on an OOC level. X charge shouldnt be reduced cause it doesnt make RP sense. A maximum sentence of 3 hours doesnt make RP sense. a domestic terrorist killing several people and burning a building down get the same time in prison as someone who evaded and gave up, but had a shotgun, a single blunt, and a ruined body armor on them. A massive reduction to all charges would allow for the modifiers to actually matter, and would differentiate serious violent situations from basic evading. Reducing sentencing time will reduce the mindset of, "I'm getting max time anyways" that causes a lot of situations where people are not valuing their lives. What do you think? how could this be improved and implemented? EDIT: wow, ok so a lot of people are not reading the post and are just reading the Title. typical. so here's a TL;DR for you lazy fucks who just comment without reading. The cap of jail time is at 180 minutes. if all charge times were reduced, a crim turning themselves in without attempting to evade or shoot at cops would no longer get max time in prison. If you currently evaded or shot at cops, your charges are heavily reduced down to max time. the problem is turning yourself in also gives you max time, so there's no point in doing that, so players think they might as well try to evade or shoot cause they have nothing to lose.

Rebalance income. Freelance jobs should have a very noticable pay bump, keep faction pay at the same level, since it adds up over time and is consistent. reduce the profit from cooking drugs, the benefit of crim activities should be power points to order drops, not the best profit on the server by 5x everything else.

i talk about that in a past suggestion i made

Invoice system for player ran businesses. Automated impound release. Let players edit names of names of consumables (food, drinks, drugs) to allow for more in depth RP Remove restrictions on all items in vending machines, so anything can be sold. But any item in a vending machine needs to be priced and viewable so they're not used as godtier storage. Those are all small things is love to see. I've made bigger suggestions in the past, but these should be relatively simple to do.
-
So, the "glove box" is really just the vehicles interior storage. Devs have made trunk space dependent on the vehicle type, we should have different sized glovebox storages per vehicle type. Reduce the size of some glovebox sizes, and increase the sizes of others. Should be an easy change.

So. Lots of conversation has been going on about LEO vs Crim balance. A major difference I've noticed between being high command of an official crim faction and now a member of the investigation bureau, is how powerful the "pager" system is for LEO. Cops get an OOC channel in their discords that they can ping an @role to notify everyone with that role, (SWAT, G&D, Detectives) to show up asap. In an official crim faction, doing the same would be a metagaming punishment, if not a bannable offense. Crim factions are only allowed to have an @RPops ping with a minimum 1 hour lead time. I think if crim groups were allowed to have their own pager system on discord it would help alleviate one of the issues that people bring up with Leo vs Crim interactions. There would have to be rules and regulations made for the system, like it can only be in official faction discords, or admin approved discords where FM would have access, etc. Thoughts?

thats why rebalancing the cost of vehicles to be in line with their performance would be a good way to fix the issue. if the "meta" vehicles were priced appropriately to be more expensive, there would be fewer people upgrading to them as quickly, and there would be a new "meta" of price/performance options that people will find and use. sure, people still have the cars they own, but at that point, they own them already, you cant take it from them, they paid for it. but fixing the root of the problem, meta cars being really cheap, and HSW upgrade being really cheap (which the fix was teased a while back but theres been no updates) would solve the problem long term
