  1. yep. and there has been no reply/update/anything since april from the initial report...
  2. Daily login rewards, loot boxes, FOMO systems are bad game design. There’s endless topics online about why this is a bad idea. It has no bearing on RP, it shouldn't be a thing. If you are not feeling incentivized to log in and play, then don't. Take a break, come back when you’re ready to play again and have the time and energy to make fun RP for yourself and others. If the admins/owners want people to have an incentive to log in, keep a regular update schedule and produce the updates that people are requesting, like the stuff in the QOL update thread.
  3. Would be absolutely massive for Weazel News, but noclip is such a powerful tool that is so easily abusable i would have to argue against giving it to every player. We already had the issues where people were using the ctrl+X exploit to see through walls. just straight up noclip being available would be abused heavily.
  4. The fact that people even get a chance to come back if they're caught with game modifications is wild to me. you're modifying your game to get an advantage in a RP server. go play GTA online or something... lol once a cheater, always a cheater. its a saying for a reason.
  5. I remember when i first joined the server, that my initial understanding of JB was that you could call a lawyer/defense attorney to a scene / investigation before your charges get placed. obviously thats not how things work, and would slow things down drastically, but it could be an interesting way to get private lawyer and JB RP active out in the server interacting with people and LEO's directly.
  6. Drastically reduce or remove the 30 minute wait timer to get paid for working at burgershot. Drastically reduce or remove the crafting times on burgershot food.
  7. Terry Walkner submitted an IC crime report against two individuals who robbed Weazel News. Terry followed them. They brakechecked me, jumped out, pulled guns, and yelled hands. I ran the closest one over in very clearly obvious self defense. IC dashcam footage was provided. a Detective in training took on the case. Terry is full legal, with no criminal history, and a member of command at Weazel News. several weeks later, I joined LSPD on that character. the same day i joined LSPD i was going to be invited to join the Law Review Committee. ive spent MONTHs working towards building my characters reputation to get voted into LRC. i was the second highest person voted in, just behind dale ashcroft, a very popular character on the server. within 4 hours of me joining the LSPD faction, and the day i was to be officially sworn in at LRC. i was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon because of the crime report i submitted weeks ago. They specifically waited for that day to do so. Since then, i was directly removed by Whitehorse from LRC who completely disregarded all the steps and rules on how to remove someone from LRC, and charged with a false felony by a detective in training who wanted to make sure his first case he got his guy no matter what. Months of work and RP to get involved was ruined. legit was ready to quit the server over it for how bullshit and stupid it was. wont be able to have a chance to attempt to fix it ICLy for another 6+ months due to how JB currently works.
  8. yep, the point was to share a solution with the issue surrounding JB, not argue about crim v cops. I'll take blame for getting it started a bit cause i did put a bit in the original topic that would be against LEO, but the whole point of the post was to have a suggestion to improve JB for the rest of the server as a whole. my suggestion is likely not the correct answer, but the discussion that has come out of it and the Idea that Quietthecutie put up is phenomenal. Any way the server and the factions can push for more interaction and RP opportunities for players, the better off we'll be. The RP opportunities for getting to use Quiet's idea would be immense and incredibly unique for the server. a significant amount of fun and interesting content would come from it for everyone involved.
  9. Give us the ability to edit/change the names of certain items in game. let us change the names of food items, and drugs, specifically, so encourage and support player to player food businesses and player to player drug businesses. would massively increase RP for player owned restraints and bars, and gangs could have their own strand of weed or meth they sell. etc etc.
  10. I play arma 3 where we have a short range radio and a long range radio, each radio has its main frequency and an alt frequency. having extra radio freq's is definitely useful that you can talk over and listen to.
  11. Where you get caught while doing a crime isn't having an overwhelming advantage for crims, as where they get caught is wherever the leo player notices or initiates a stop. The goal of Leo is to catch the criminal. The goal of most crimes is to avoid or escape Leo's. Leo's regularly have the overwhelming advantage, very capable cars, high speeds for every situation, air one, and superior numbers. But it can be balanced as chasing a fleeing vehicle is harder than fleeing. You have to react perfectly, manage call outs for your supporting units, and avoid collateral damage with bystanders and your own friendly units, where the fleeing vehicle has to just get away. That balance is thrown out the window when it comes to foot chases or gunfights. There's no reason to not put on ap as a Leo because there is absolutely no downside. You get all the benefits of Leo's organization, communication, and support equipment, with no debuff for having double or more the HP as most fleeing crims. A kitted chest rig with plates can weigh like 40lbs. That should have some form of debuff on your speed for the added protection. It would affect any crim wearing so if they try to fight Leo's or are focusing rolling labs, they'd also get the debuff of slower movement to keep it all even.
  12. yep, im actively being prevented from doing RP i have spent months working towards, and invested 100's of thousands of IC dollars, with probably well over a couple hundred hours of time invested, because of a flimsy charge and JB's inability to process cases within a reasonable time. by the time my case comes up, the RP i am involved with will be over and forgotten, and by the time my case is concluded, who knows whats going to happen in 12 months from now... lol i'd be lying in saying it hasnt crossed my mind in just saying fuck it and quitting due to how drastically its derailed stuff i wanted to do and having fun playing on the server.
  13. Tasers, mixed with my suggestion to balance them, would solve that issue.
  14. fuckin love this idea. well thought out with pros and cons, would significantly increase in person interactive RP for everyone involved, would love to see it.
  15. couldnt have said it better myself Over 10 months on the server, regularly playing crim, reasonably well known crim, doing banks, cooking, stores, fighting and killing people in the burgershot parking lot, etc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  16. Who is the suggestion for? - Anyone that can wear AP. Crim, Civ, and LEO Why is the suggestion being made? - A way to realistically balance Crim vs LEO, offering a nerf to both sides for their added AP protection What are the pros and/or cons of the suggestion? Pros - Realistic way to balance Crim vs PD. PD always wearing 100AP vests should have some form of downside to doing so. - PD actually gets a noticeable nerf for once, as a lot of Crim focused players complain about PD not getting nerfs, when Crim seem to regularly get small nerfs. Cons - dev work? - cops running slower will be more taser happy since they now can more easily lose a suspect on foot? How should the suggestion be implemented? - Modify player walk/run speed, turning speed, and aim down sights speed based on the amount of AP they have equipped. - not sure on specific percentages, would need to be tested. somewhere in the realm of like, 80% total movement speed for 200AP, 90% total movement speed for 100 AP, 93% total movement speed for 75 AP, and 95% total movement speed for 50 AP I think having a system where based on how much AP you are wearing reducing your character movement speed would be quite realistically balanced. Wearing plates gets hot and heavy, and should have some debuff on your character for the added protection. Obviously this suggestion is heavily targeted towards LEO factions, as it should be. so lets think through how this could change outcomes of situations LEO have no downsides of wearing AP, so effectively every LEO player puts on 100 AP when they clock on, as there's no reason not to. Foot chases will be drastically different. now LEO will have to consider how much AP they want to wear depending on the situations they expect to be in. foot pursuit? too much AP and you'll quickly lose your suspect because you're running slower. Get a lightweight kit with 50AP? well now you're at a disadvantage in a possible gang shootout, and are more vulnerable at the moment i don't see any real con to this, other than LEO's being upset for getting an actual noticeable nerf for always having AP as a buff.
  17. Yeah, that's just how meta guns work. You change this one, and a new one will fill its place. Its meta because of how good it is for the price, its a really efficient weapon to use. I see a lot of this as a crim vs crim focused change, and I totally agree that LEO factions are OP well beyond than they need to be. Having the .50 so high up in tiers is an interesting place to put it, and I can see both sides. .50 is what people are used to and what they like, and losing easy access to it is frustrating. But, its not like its being removed or its damage nerfed, its just not going to be as common, and the people that will have access to it have more or less proven themselves with quality RP that they can handle having such an efficient weapon in a reasonable manner. Regarding SNS vs 100AP, a tier 2 faction probably should not be attempting to go head to head in a gunfight with their tier of weapons against a tier 7 faction. When its crim vs PD, then yeah, PD has always been OP, and should be looked at on how to balance, but should still regularly have the upper hand as its a government funded and trained faction. Crims aren't typically supposed to win against PD. if Crims win against PD, PD fucked up and did something wrong. Crims should be managing interactions and evading, not outgunning LEO in every situation. agreed. Thats why I said that, the way there is now hard OOC rules to follow for gangs or else they will lose tiers, is FM attempting to force a culture change. If it ends up working out, its better for the server overall. if it doesnt work out, we'll see an exodus of long standing groups and players that didn't want to conform to the new rules.
  18. My crim is a fair bit over 150k xp, whether i main my crim or not doesn't make a difference. My main has succeeded in taking down more government officials than any other gang in remotely recent times. Just because I dont roll labs day in and day out, that doesnt discredit my opinion on the topic... lol
  19. I think this change is really interesting. This is clearly a heavy handed way to force a culture change within the crim RP on the server, and will be interesting to see how it plays out in the long run. I think if it does go positively, it will be incredible for the server. Forcing factions to have OOC repercussions if their leadership and members are breaking rules is really interesting. Its a system that will promote good RP situations and punish clapper/PVP mentality that almost always leads to rulebreaks. If you want to progress, you should prioritize maintaining quality players that will properly RP and don't have a win over everything mentality. It will also force players to more carefully consider their actions and how quick they resort to violence rather than finding another RP way to handle it rather than a shootout. The discussion about .50 being harder to obtain now is interesting. I think complaining that the meta gun in the server is being nerfed is kinda silly, there’s a reason why EVERYONE uses it, and this kind of nerf to the .50 seems reasonable.
  20. 100% agreed, JB is a unique tough job in the server. if you're unable to keep up with your own trial, that should fall onto the defendant to deal with. like i said in my list of potential cons, there could be issues with defendants intentionally stalling to get the case closed in their favor without a judgement. that's something that can be handled by a judge to determine. there are seven active cases, two would be considered petty, the other five are felony all 10 pending cases are felony of the 68 received cases, only 16 in my opinion are petty. the rest are more serious misdemeanors and felonies. I dont think the issue is people flooding the faction with petty cases, as the majority are not petty cases. i do think that might be a solution if this gets implemented, that petty cases could be thrown out or not allowed, to prevent flooding the faction. 100% agreed, i actually believe this is already a thing to an extent ICly. JB faction members reach out to players ICly through email to check in if their still actively wanting to follow through with the case. The problem is even though this is an IC issue, it has big repercussions on an OOC level, the extremely slow responses to contesting charges has a noticeable negative impact on the players. There needs to be something done from an OOC side of it to force a faction to perform its faction duties, when its required ICly to be done in a timely manner --> In all criminal trials brought forth by or too the San Andreas Judicial Branch, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial 8-12 months IRL is not that, and there needs to be a fix to the current system. like i said, If you can't prove that someone was guilty in a couple weeks then there was not enough RP done to justify the charges placed. that should be pretty simple to implement, and then it would be on the Judicial Branch faction to handle ICly, and recruit, or they'll start having to let charges slide. There needs to be a change that positively affects the average player on the server, which i believe this type of change will.
  21. If you can't prove that someone was guilty in a couple weeks then there was not enough RP done to justify the charges placed. Should be considered borderline non-RP to place charges like that.
  22. TL;DR If JB can't prove your guilty within a set timeframe, your case should be concluded in your favor and charges dropped. The extreme wait time for JB to do their faction duties has become so disruptive to the server that it needs to be handled on an OOC level. Who is the suggestion for? Every player on the server interacting with the judicial system, and member of Judicial Branch Why is the suggestion being made? The severe lack of progress in this vital legal faction on the server is drastically hurting players experience on the server. What are the pros / cons? Pros: players, both crim and legals, will have a significantly better experience on the server knowing that potential interaction with law enforcement won't royally fuck them over if the LEO player is having a bad day. Significantly speed up player trials to make them reasonable for people to follow along with and be involved. Force LEO factions and players to more carefully consider the charges they are placing, knowing that if it's not concrete, the charges can be dropped soon. no Dev work required. Cons: Pressure on JB faction members potentially causing burnout / overwork LEO's could potentially get more involved in the prosecution process to provide more manpower? Potential for crim players to flood the faction with every charge they receive. Would need to find a way to limit/moderate that. potentially deny players from contesting citations and petty charges - Ranger Defendants could abuse the system delaying their own response to push the trail closer to the time required to attempt to get charges dropped. Would need a reasonable way to moderate/limit that. defendants who are not actively participating in their cases could have their case closed against them if they fail to be active, respond, and be reasonably available for the trial How should the suggestion be implemented? Faction management needs to put strict OOC deadlines for the Judicial Branch factions to process cases. The problem: The Judicial Branch faction from an outside perspective is a dying/on life support faction, that it's inability to perform faction duties is significantly disrupting players time, experience and enjoyment of the server. There are cases that are coming up to nearly a year since they were filed, and haven't had a single comment or update in over two months. Players charged with crimes are expected to file a case for defending themselves within a week of the crime, but are looking at 8-12 months of real life time to get a conclusion. People either give up and just deal with it, or quit before their case comes up for review. Law enforcement players are currently in a position to be the judge, jury, and executioner with how the server works, you get the charge, do the prison time, and then try and fight the charge after. While I understand that this is more or less required for the legal system in the server to function, many players are frustrated with the system, seeing law enforcement as abusing the system to stack charges, apply additional flimsy charges or just corruptly apply charges on players knowing that there's no reasonable way to defend your character within a reasonable time. The solution: I understand that a lot of this could be considered to be entirely on an IC level, but the effects this is having on the server are so severe that it needs to be addressed and fixed on an OOC level, and the faction management team really needs to make an effort here. I know the issues surrounding the judicial branch faction are complex, it's not a RP many people are interested in contributing too, and it's a lot of work to make the faction function, but at some point there needs to be expectations to follow. My idea to help solve some of the issues, from a player perspective that's not involved with the judicial branch faction, is have an OOC enforced time limit for trials to be handled. The specific time range is not for me to decide, but somewhere between 30 and 90 days would seem reasonable. If the case is not active, activated, and at least close to being resolved within the time limit, all charges should be dropped. If JB and law enforcement are unable to prove their case within a reasonable timeframe, the case should be dropped. Yes, this should be an IC thing, but it's so disruptive to the players on the server that it needs to be handled on an OOC level. ^ this is a very interesting solution I really like the sound of as well, very much worth a look
  23. When you spawn your car at parking, unlock it, and within the 2-3 seconds before your auto lock is enabled, people rush your trunk to loot it, getting locked inside, but continue to steal stuff it's non rp, they're actively abusing the script and it should be against the rules outright.
  24. How much of a loss you take shouldn't be the determining factor on if something is a rule break or not. I've had reports denied based on that, when the action itself is blatantly non-rp. Big +1
  25. 1. 2. maybe let people have garage spaces with business property? theres still so many unused business it wouldnt really cause issues till WAY down the line if we added garage spaces to business properties. same IC rules would apply, would have to have a functioning business thats used, but it would be nice to store business related vehicles at the business.
