Automated Toll system in and out of LS
SquirtleSquad replied to olowepolo's topic in Game Suggestions
I feel this is something needed to SD, PD and MD when they have lights running. The number of times me responding to a Medical call and having to spend at MOST 5 seconds to type and wait for the gate to go up in an ambulance is a minor annoyance. I'd +1 the idea of emergency vehicles with lights and sirens running to have the gate auto open. -

As Ash said, there's a work in progress command, which is outlined here: -
Hello and welcome! You can purchase cars from Dealerships across the map. Their locations can be marked with icons on your GPS, you can look at the Legend for names, or you can ask people in game. Taxi drivers are a wealth of information, in addition to a ride to their location, so utilize them! Additionally, there are 3 Used car lots, also marked on your map with a Red Car icon: Low-End (Cars under $50,000), High-End (Cars over $50,000), and Paleto (Cars over $50,000). Feel free to check them out, but as you're new, I'd head to Low-End which is near the Airport. To park or unpark your car, on your GPS there are tealish color Garage Icons. There are two locations, one at Legion Square, and one at Paleto. At Legion Square, if you drive up to the parking booth, you can type /park to park your car, and when you want to unpark it, hit "Y" and select it from the menu. You will have ti drive pretty close to the booth to park it. If you sit there a few minutes, you can observe another player parking their car to get an idea of where that spot is. At Paleto, there's a blue circle icon you can drive up to and type /park and again hit "Y" to select it from the menu to unpark it. Regarding what you want to do, the worlds your oyster. You can start doing Freelance jobs which are indicated with the yellow briefcase icon. I'd suggest Burgershot (Denoted with a red B) or Roadworkers, near Casino on Elgin Ave. Both jobs offer good pay, and a lot of player interaction so you can learn more about the city, what to do, and make friends.

Purpose of this guide The goal of this guide is to go into more detail on common issues players have when they are trying to connect to ECRP through RageMP. Sometimes, RageMP works, and then the next minute it just refuses to connect or refuses to launch. Below are some outlined steps that you can try, to get the issue resolved on your own. This guide may not entirely resolve your issue, but it will resolve the majorities. It is your responsibility to read through the instructions entirely. ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――― Common issues These are common issues the players will face when trying to connect to ECRP through the RageMP launcher. Common issues that this guide will aim to resolve are: GTA loading indefinitely GTA loading, then taking the player to Storymode a.k.a Single Player GTA loading a black screen, requiring a forced shut down GTA not launching at all ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――― Pre-check Here are some things that should be looked at BEFORE you attempt any of the steps below. Most of these take a few moments to check off, before the instructions below which can take anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours to resolve. So, ask yourself the following questions before you move onwards: Are you allowing Universal Access Control (UAC) to launch the game? When you launch certain games, you will be greeted with a pop-up from Windows asking, "Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?" with the options of "Yes" or "No" As long as you have downloaded RageMP's installer and ran through the official installer, you can click "Yes" with confidence. This will allow the client to launch GTA 5 from your library, whether Epic, Rockstar Launcher, or Steam with the correct permissions and allow the Easy Anti-Cheat to instantiate properly hooking into the game. EAC is required to connect to the server. Did you restart your PC? Something as simple as restarting your PC can resolve a majority of the issues players face. This is especially true when your game just crashed, and you cannot relaunch into the game. While Windows does try to do it's best to close down all programs associated with the parent program, some processes can get stuck indefinitely, and cause another instance of the same main application to fail to initialize. A simple full restart will clear this out from RAM and kill off any processes still running on the CPU. Have you installed any new mods? If you've installed any new mods, uninstall them and see if the game will launch. If so, refer back to the instructions for your mod and ensure you're adding the appropriate files to the RageMP folder and only applicable files to the GTA 5 Game Directory. Do you have mods installed from other servers; FiveM, custom overlays, custom plugins, custom mods non-graphical If you're using any FiveM, GTA Singleplayer, or GTAO mods installed directly into your GTA 5 folder, uninstall them and try launching the game. Some mods will play not load with RageMP fine, others may cause issues, particularly scripthook.dll, which you should not have installed to play. Is it just a black screen? This issue is a bit harder to determine what the outcome is, but commonly if someone is using OneDrive, and are backing up their "Documents" folder, this can cause an issue with Windows not having the files fully sync'd on their system. To check open up Windows Explorer, in the Quick Finder on the left side, click on the cloud icon "Name - Personal", then "Documents" and scroll down until you see a folder called "Rockstar Games". There, right click the folder and make sure the option "Always keep on this device" is checked off. This will force Windows to always keep these files on your computer as opposed to uploading it to OneDrive to keep them in sync. ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――― Steps Step 1: Restart your PC. If you skimmed through this guide to come to the steps, then restart your PC. It's the least time consuming thing that you can try before moving on to the next steps. Step 2: Open up your RageMP folder, and delete your client_resources folder. Sometimes the files can be hashed wrong or corrupted, and deleting the client resources folder can fix the issue of the game not loading. If you installed the RageMP at the default location, then it'll be under C:\RageMP. Highlight the folder and hit delete. Then launch RageMP as you normally would and connect to the ECRP server. The client will automatically start downloading the servers assets again, so you won't have to do anything. Step 3: Uninstall RageMP completely. There are two ways to do it. You can delete everything in the RageMP folder but updater.exe or you can use Windows uninstaller to uninstall RageMP. Deleting Files: If you are deleting the everything in the folder, make sure you do not delete the updater.exe file. After deleting it, empty your Recycling Bin, and then double click the updater.exe file to start reinstalling the latest RageMP client files. After that, you can try to connect to ECRP and see if the game loads. Uninstalling via Windows: If you want to use Windows to uninstall, then right click the Start Button and select "Installed apps" or "Programs". There, you can scroll or search for RAGE Multiplayer and uninstall it. Once that's done, make sure that the RageMP folder is deleted entirely. After that, you can download RageMP and run through the installer again. Step 4: If the above didn't work, you will then need to verify your game files through whatever platform you run Grand Theft Auto V through. Steam: Find the game in your library Right click the game, or click the "Cog" icon and select "Properties" In the pop up window, select Installed Files Click on "Verify integrity of game files" Wait for the scan to conclude and Steam to down the files Launch GTA V and run through any installers Launch RageMP and connect to the server Epic Games: At this time, I don't have screenshots or anything on how to run it through Epic games, however you can follow the directions outlined here. Rockstar Launcher: At this time, I don't have screenshots or anything on how to run through this on Rockstar Launcher, however you can follow the directions outlined here. Step 5: This is a big annoying step, uninstalling GTA V entirely. Sometimes even with verifying the game, installing any mods for Single Player could have been lost or missed when removing them, or there's a corrupted file the verification process did not pick up on. With that, you'll need to fully uninstall the game and reinstall it. Steam: Locate the game in your Library Right click the game, or click the "Cog" icon, select "Manage" and select "Uninstall" Let Steam run through the entire Uninstall process Afterwards, you can reinstall the game You may need to run through Step 3 again with RageMP to make sure that Rage detects where the game is installed at. Epic Games: At this time, I don't have screenshots or anything on how to run it through Epic games, however you can follow the directions outlined here. Rockstar Launcher: At this time, I don't have screenshots or anything on how to run through this on Rockstar Launcher. Step 6: This last step to get the game to work for you, would be uninstalling Rockstar Games Launcher and Rockstar Games Social Club. Right click the Windows Start button and select "Installed Apps" or "Programs" and look for "Rockstar Games Launcher". On Windows 11, you can search for the name of this application. Click on the application and start the uninstall progress. When prompted, you want to make sure you check off "Remove saved Social Club profile data" AND "Remove currently installed game data from your computer". This ensures that when you go to reinstall Rockstar Games Launcher, that it'll be a fresh new copy. After uninstalling it, check the "Installed Apps" or "Programs" and see if Rockstar Games Social Club is installed. If it is, please uninstall it as well. There should be no checkbox options to select from, so you can go through the entire process of uninstalling it. Steam: After you uninstall Rockstar Games Launcher and Rockstar Games Social Club, located Grand Theft Auto V in your game library, and click on "Play". As the Launcher and Social Club are uninstalled, this will prompt you to install both applications automatically from Steam. Make sure you follow the steps and have both programs installed. After that, Steam MAY close the game due to it taking too long to start, or launch you into the game into Storymode. You want to make sure you load the game all the way to Storymode before you try and connect to Eclipse Roleplay, as the game needs to generate the necessary settings files for the game. Once you have loaded into Storymode, you can go ahead and close the game and try to connect to ECRP through RageMP. Epic Games: At this time, I don't have screenshots or anything on how to run it through Epic games. Rockstar Launcher: You will need to manually download the Rockstar Games Launcher, which you can find here on Rockstars own website. This should also install the Social Club as well. ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――― Still not working? If none of the above instructions have worked AND you've read through each step, please make a Technical Support ticket through our ECRP Discord. You may be asked to provide photos of the issue you're encountering and telling us what you've all tried will help eliminate repeating steps. To share images of the issue, you'll need to upload them to an image hosting site like Imgur, ImgBB, or otherwise and paste the URL into the Discord ticket. Do not reach out to me via Discord Private Messages for additional troubleshooting. Your best bet is to make a ticket on the ECRP Discord for assistance. It's a freelance job, aimed to allow new players to interact with the server, learn some of the ins-and-outs, and allow them to make social connections. Depending on the time of day you play, the place can be busy or dead, similar to how MD, PD/SD, DOC, other factions have activity and low-activity. I don't think making it a faction job is the route to go here at all. It's already ICly owned by the Government, but keeping it Freelance is ideal. Regarding the Food Delivery idea, this is a sound idea. This could be fun to introduce, but I think that for this to happen, there'd have to be a vast improvement of RP standards and activity surrounding Burgershot. Meaning, people not using the Food Delivery request to go off and do what they want to do outside of Freelance duties. The script to pay someone out would need to be taken into account as well and adjusted. It's an interesting idea, just a few things to think about and think through, as well as some RP consistencies that would need to improve.

Modify player speed based on what AP amount they have equipped
SquirtleSquad replied to Demonmit1's topic in Game Suggestions
It's not a statement "hits too close to home", but you are mentioning a blatant violation of internal policy. Thus, my statement of filing an OOC IA report. In PD we are not allowed to sit in the passenger seat to just spam /fl to refresh armor in a gun fight. In addition to, it being a server rule break. So if you're going to mention this, at least follow through the appropriate channels so the behavior is appropriately corrected. -

SquirtleSquad replied to Demonmit1's topic in Game Suggestions
In addition to this, we have walk animations that have various speed differences as well. So it'd have to be a bit more standardized. I wouldn't be opposed to heavier armor, anything above 100 AP imposing a 5-10% reduction in run speed, with the trade off that cuffed/zip tied individuals suffering from a 5-10% speed reduction as well. -

If you're going to make wild accusations like this, at least provide evidence and OOC IA report them to their respected faction. -
QOL - The Next Update / Near- Future of ECRP
SquirtleSquad replied to Bala's topic in Game Suggestions
Allow for MD to treat Painkiller overdoses. RPly they'd be treated with Narcan either through a paste or nasal spray, same can be done for overdoses as well. Good RP for MD when players accidentally take more than one, or New Players down them like candy not understanding that it's a heal over time. -

On the subject of "Packed Cash", automatically make it so that pocket cash in excess quantities, like 25k+ turns into Packed Cash. This would allow for items like this to be dropped upon death, in addition to, no longer being scriptly gained through store robberies, bank robberies, etc, requiring a bit more RP from LEO to determine its source. Or, for Packed Cash, allow for an analysis option that requires an MDC so that those who are able to can trace back the source. -
QOL - The Next Update / Near- Future of ECRP
SquirtleSquad replied to Bala's topic in Game Suggestions
Something I would like to see integrated into the server is the removal of "Destroy" options on all items. Instead of "Destroy" have a purpose for trash bins in places around the server. Allow players to dispose of their shit in there, and then every say "hour" they would get automatically deleted. In addition to this, they could be deleted earlier by the Garbage Freelance job when they collect it. It would also allow crims a way to ditch weapons or anything like that, and if someone else comes to pick it up, then their grubby prints are now all over the weapon. This would also allow people to go around and "recycle" water bottles. One of my characters always runs around picking up Empty Water bottles because A) I don't mind the mini game to refill them, B) I can stash them in my apartment or in my cars C) RPly helps keep the city cleaner and D) It's more money efficient this way. -

Ability to still rob houses when alarm is triggered
SquirtleSquad replied to Charlie2231's topic in Criminal Suggestions
Sorry, but I need to -1 this. When the home owner wakes up, you can't interact with it anymore. They'd RPly be coming to look at what's going on. Why would you RPly want to stay in the house knowing someone in the house is looking around for you? Lights turning on, shouting "Hello? Is there someone there?" If there was a way to interact with the NPC more to either defer the 911 call, or something, then yes absolutely. Yet, as it stands now, it makes zero RP sense to want to stay in the house instead of escaping. Even if you're putting emphasis on risk vs reward, the risk is 100x high because you know the jigs up, and the reward is the same if you hadn't tripped the alarm. -
They actually do!

+1 HOWEVER The issue might be more limited to the theme. It might not be that easy to update the configuration if it's baked in.

The point is NOT completely irrelevant. The point is completely relevant, we have to adopt different strategies to keep up with specific cars, which means we develop and hone skills to keep up in a pursuit. Adding the D10, which is not that as great as people think is not going to unravel and imbalance the fun that is a pursuit.
-
I am going to have to respectfully disagree with this here. There are already a multitude of vehicles that crims have access to either through dealerships or credit store that LEO's cannot gain access to. One being specifically the Issi Sport. We have other vehicles that we use to combat this, but the D10 is not one of those that I feel is that much of a deal breaker.

Guys, we're playing on an RP server, but I don't think it is feasible to start expecting people from MD to start pulling medical supplies from an /fl loadout to treat things. Would it be great? Yes, yes it absolutely would. Is it ideal for a script based RP server where everyone operates on their own expectations of time? No, not at all. Not everyone wants to wait for you to get forceps, copious amounts of gauze, bottles of saline solution, bandages, ice-packs, tourniquets, IV lines with blood packs, scissors, medical tape, EKG machines, etc, etc. Does it enhance the RP? Fuck yeah it does. Does it work for the field, when we only have about 28 slots of inventory space? No, not at all. If we're going to start expecting MD to start carrying medical supplies needed to treat injuries, or we're give /do Would see a broken leg when someone was shot, then we're pulling crap that won't fix the right injury. We should then start requiring other factions to carry around assets in their inventory when they are on the field. An EMT's job is about stabilizing the patient to be taken to the hospital where a team of Doctors and Specialists will heal the patient to be released. An EMT is not going to be ripping open shit and digging slugs and bullets out of a patient out in the field. They're there to stabilize and transport. While the /stabilize script should cease if the medic moves away, some of the other expectations from a field medic, and from a RP server, where other factions do not always provide the same level of RP, people willing to be patient for that level of RP, or being receptive of the level of RP given to them. You also have to understand that while MD's internal manual is very good, and very in-depth, not everyone is that into the understanding and knowledge of medical roleplay to be able to provide something that other games and servers might offer. MD does provide MUCH more in-depth RP, but that's within their internal divisions, AMU and CRU. This allows for the receiving player to understand and set aside time to follow through with more medical RP. This is where people will experience the massive knowledge dump and very descriptive and storybook level of RP from the medical side of things. Additionally, with at times, how many Medics are on shift compared to other factions, we have to speed up RP to get someone treated to go and save someone else. Otherwise we start getting 30 reports in game about why no one is responding to 911 calls, since people don't seem to understand that they are not the only ones on the server. There's gotta be a fine line of expectations, and delivery. There's a balance, and outside of the issue of stabilize continuing even if the medic leaves the player their stabilizing, it's in a pretty good spot. Finally, we need to consider how much development time would need to go into this. This is a lot to request in my opinion.
-
Respectfully, as someone in MD, and you being in MD as well, no. No way. When we do medical RP, as Ranger said, we are focused on providing the actual treatment itself. We are not foregoing any RP to just clicking spacebar, and THEN we have to provide medical RP. This is an RP server, and not a skill check server with this stuff. If it was a one liner, like the cuff script, or RP that involves no interactions then fine, but not for medical RP. When MD is in a shoot out, does it suck? Yes, yes it does, but so does providing medical treatment in the line of fire during a war. Medics are generally seen as a "off-limits" target, however, that being said they can be shot and are not immune. It comes with the hazards of the job. You can RP picking them up, and moving them to safety, but as you know, we have internal policy to not just run in with bullets flying everywhere to save people. That'd be a violation of FearRP, not preserving the integrity of our characters' lives to perform faction duties. We also don't want there to be instances of people being mad that "a medic purposely failed the skill check and let me die", or "a medic hit the skill checks and I should have died" mentality and reports that would come in. We already get people requesting Death perms which we do not grant, as people want to find a way out of getting charged.

While I understand this can be an annoyance, you can make a Refund Request for this to get your money back that you lost buying the contract. Unfortunately Server Restarts are either due to crashes that are unexpected, or when the Founders want to push an update up and it aligns with their time/availability. This is just my opinion.
