(Restructure)

With the war over, the Dojin-Kai began a restructure, with full emphasis on chain of command and implementing a mentor system for the new influx of trials we received, this new system would put more leadership decisions on lower ranking members, and ensure that everyone knew their role, thus eliminating the need to be micro-managed. With the added heat from the LSPD including a drug bust at one of our factories, the decision to randomise car colours was put in.

Following what seemed to be an unprovoked attack by the council on our city hang out, we decided to bide our time and reach out to the various commanders within the organisation, the people who we reached out to didn't want to talk.

A couple of days later The Dojin-Kai was formed up at our city Dojo (Koi) preparing to make a run for materials, the nomad known to the syndicate as CJeet, turned up and jumped into one of our vehicles, pointing a gun at the drivers head, a member of our 'Wakagashira-Hosa' swiftly subdued him and was met by a counter attack coming from 'La Spada', The Dojin-Kai formed into vehicles and headed away from the area. Whilst in transit a known triad called 'Tyler Rogers' began talking on our frequency, 'We have one of your boys at Koi', 'You guys need to earn our respect', 'We know about your master plan'. Since the war we have gone out of our way to help members of the council, including dropping off vehicles, transporting people to hospitals, and he seems to know more about 'Our master plan' then we do.

With communications failing and random chases and attacks coming from all directions, The Dojin-Kai formed up to begin counter attacking.

    b1.png

     DRRKW2h.jpg

With conflict breaking out between the two groups throughout the week, a weekly command meeting was held to discuss current affairs and operations, during the meeting a few notable members were promoted for their selfless commitment to the syndicate. With no end to the hostilities in sight between the Dojin-Kai and the council, the commanders of the Syndicate attempted to reach out to the council once more, this time all messages were replied to and meetings followed suit, a temporary ceasefire was put into place until the High command of both organisations could meet and discuss plans for the bloodshed to end.

                                                                To be continued........

TRAINING

Lola finally found the opportunity to visit the Dojo to train. Particularly in the last several weeks, she had dedicated her time to meetings and present conflicts. Nevertheless, as she stepped into the Dojo for the first time in a while, all her worries seemed to evaporate.

Members of the Dojin-Kai frequented the Dojo to train and spar with one another. She was pleasantly surprised to see it was fairly quiet, with only one other Kobun training by the punching bags.  Like every training session in the past, she began with meditation.

As she neared the end of her training, she saw Jimmy Santa, the Kobun, packing up his gear in his bag. She invited him to a spar, to which he happily accepted. As a brown-belt herself, she treated the spar as an opportunity to teach and train with the white-belt, walking him through attacking, defending, and balancing. To no surprise, Jimmy impressed her with his fighting ability.

image.png.2e44f6322458994d3b319c3dd623fb6f.png

Once the spar was over, she and her opponent bowed towards one another and began to make their own ways out of the Dojo. She looked forward to the building opening to the public, where members of the community can experience the space like it was their own.

Recent kidnappings

As of late, The Dojin-Kai have been partaking in the kidnappings of those they deem to have disrespected the family, following the same methods used in the kidnappings of Green Taxi. The Dojin-Kai does not take lightly to petty thieves and those who badmouth the organisation, and individuals caught actively disrespecting the family have been dealt with accordingly. As per tradition, a steel Yakuza blade is used to slice of the fingers of those who believe it necessary to take what is not theirs, or speak ill of those who have done them no harm. Said individuals are taken to a building that was formerly used as a HQ for [redacted]; it is perfect for teaching a harsher form of discipline to people outside of the family, as it contains a deep basement filled to the brim with chemicals and devious instruments.

Back to Our Roots

Ever since the war ended, Dojin-Kai had lost sight of its customs and values.
This organization was forced to adapt to the circumstances around them, leading them away
from their roots. This change was not something bad, it was just different to the
organization. Before all of the chaos commenced, the Dojin-Kai used to host Martial Arts
classes for its family, in hopes of expanding to the public. Alongside these classes,
they had many others, such as discipline, self control, mental and physical training,
among many others. Due to the circumstances around the organization, we had to distance
ourselves from these teaching experiences.

b1.png

The Kyodais (Mentors) and above decided it was time for this to end. It has been a while
since we have engaged with our family in this way. Samuel decided to host a meeting with
all of the Kyodais+, and they all shared the same point of view as him. This filled Samuel
with joy, now that he knows others believe in what he believes. At the meeting, the Kyodais discussed
their current situation within the organization, and they went through different ways to go back
to Dojin-Kai's old traditions.

iNTytJk.png

After the meeting was over, Samuel and Livvy Castle had the chance to speak to the Oyabun, James
Sakamoto, about their ideas, and with excitement, the Oyabun agreed and gave them the go.

b1.png

Finally, our first class since the war was over had commenced. In this class, the Kyodais
grouped up Minarais and Kobuns, then went over discipline, respect, and the importance of them.
Once this part of the training was over, we moved on to physical training, teaching our brothers
and sisters how to properly spar inside our Dojo. Then the Kobuns decided to give it a go.
There were a couple of fights, and they were very well thought of. Both parties had analysed
every move, and as the minutes passed by, I could see great improvement.

b1.png

This is the time for our training to be reinstated within our organization. It was greatly missed
by many, and now the new members get to experience proper mental and physical training, while
also creating stronger bonds with their new family.

With the scars of the war long behind them, the Dojin Kai have slowly started to become more accustomed to the new normal. Continuing with the day-to-day activities of the organization comes various rituals, with the ‘Gishiki’ being one too. The Japanese from ancient times have valued emotional and aesthetic institutions in expressing their religious and ideological experiences. Following these age-old traditions, the Dojin Kai is serious in pursuing traditional means of organizing the family also. With this comes the promotional ceremony, conventionally performed by elders within the family. These wise men follow a skilled and highly pious set of actions to both showcase new brothers the devotion required to stay with the organization, as well as celebrate the promotion in a traditional cultural display.

With the family pursuing new business ventures; public correspondences; and cultural showings of Japanese culture, Alex also decided to come out of the shadows once again. As he got back into town after a long stay in the home country, he caught the tail end of a promotion ceremony, performed by [REDACTED]. Seeing the performance unfolding before his eyes filled him with much vigour; reinvigorating him to pursue his goals in the city.

A LESSON IN TRUST

q7BAPDg.png.fcde5aa9fe6ddbffc11ecd1b6dfc5ef9.thumb.png.1723a0a958e6f862240d80070faa6fae.png

Trust was one of the many core values held highly to Dojin-Kai members. Over time, members of the Dojin-Kai should learn to trust everyone like their own blood-related family. To raise the importance of trust within the Dojin-Kai to others, Lola planned and held an open evening session for anyone that wished to join. She was pleasantly surprised of the turn out and proceeded with the session.

q7BAPDg.png.fcde5aa9fe6ddbffc11ecd1b6dfc5ef9.thumb.png.1723a0a958e6f862240d80070faa6fae.png

The session began with the simple question; what is trust? No one held back and shared their own definitions of trust. Lola followed up the question with a request and asked all the members to think of someone in their life that they trust completely. They stated names outside and within the organisation, as well as expressed this level of trust they have in themselves. Then, she asked them if they could truthfully say they trust all the members of Dojin-Kai the same way. Unanimously, and to none of Lola's surprise, the answer was "No." The session was going just as she had planned it.

image.png.e16f25c60a61e4992e78f2074e826414.png

She picked out one of the trials (Minarai, 見習い) and asked him to step forward, facing the other members.

image.png.1a4389476eedaa7cbd5754700d712084.png

She proceeded to let Zez go before bowing to him, thanking him for his co-operation. His lack of restraint were testament to the trust he built in a matter of days of knowing her.

q7BAPDg.png.fcde5aa9fe6ddbffc11ecd1b6dfc5ef9.thumb.png.1723a0a958e6f862240d80070faa6fae.png

She invited Lesley onto the mat and handed him the knife, before inviting Tayven to stand before him. Lola's instructions were simple:

"I give you permission to hurt him."

image.png.d19b24963b2d958756ac6e673fee81cf.png

image.png.e08ff9c59e474d7c27b0cd315b5af5c3.png

Her decisions on who to bring onto the mat and for what exercise were entirely calculated. Although she had known Lesley since the beginning of Dojin-Kai, she was also aware that many members were not as close to him and only acknowledged him as one of the Wakagashira-Hosa members. These members were the Dojin-Kai aggressors expected to take lead in the face of combat, so his ability to fight was not a secret. Because Lesley's moves in Dojin-Kai were silent, she paired him with a member with one of the loudest personalities.

Everything continued to go to plan, including the somewhat angered and fearful reactions of the members.

q7BAPDg.png.fcde5aa9fe6ddbffc11ecd1b6dfc5ef9.thumb.png.1723a0a958e6f862240d80070faa6fae.png

She moved onto the next exercise. Just in time for the session, she invited James to help its facilitation, to which he gladly accepted.

image.png.a019bb1990653007573c96c97eeb6de8.png

image.png.3aff231bbe55a85764ab9a1e5285d452.png

James stepped forward and began to work down the line slowly, placing the gun to people's foreheads - simultaneously challenging them. His words continued to daringly mock them, but none of them budged. Some showed signs of discomfort.

image.png.f3d50f67e267b0e8e897a303618ca1f8.png

He then put the barrel to Livvy's back. Lola and James carefully observed the reactions of their other members. He continued to challenge them, asking them why they're not stepping up to help her and questioned if they'd simply let her die in front of them. However, it was all part of the exercise. All members remained still, fighting their instincts to defend her.

image.png.1e673203b526acef062621928f949355.png

Once the gun was returned to Lola, James asked the question once more;

"Did none of you step forward because of my role as the Oyabun?"

Several members nodded, with some confessing that they wanted to. However, Livvy stressed that she didn't react because she put her trust wholly into James, despite being the one held at gunpoint.

q7BAPDg.png.fcde5aa9fe6ddbffc11ecd1b6dfc5ef9.thumb.png.1723a0a958e6f862240d80070faa6fae.png

As the session came to a close, Lola had planned one final exercise. She pulled out an envelope and revealed to them that she had $10,000 inside of it. She proceeded to hand out a piece of paper to each member, asking them to write the word SPLIT or STEAL.

The outcome rules were simple. Should all members write split, the money would be equally shared between all. Should one person write steal, then that person will receive all of the money, no questions asked. Should more than one person steal the money, then no one receives it.

image.png.9e54c6316e718e55544fd6e6228fbc9a.pngimage.png.1ed8f04325b0c847bd97b8c778102d48.pngimage.png.71b35283064d8d4b24771baee604eb95.pngimage.png.05d84149aac82afb46c391f31188d5cd.pngimage.png.244f947180d6c3f65adec5f323c6b82e.png

To her surprise, one member decided to steal. Once announced, everyone in the room flared in outrage. Whoever wrote to stole the money was then given ten seconds to confess before getting given the money, no questions asked. Following the session, Lola promised that no one who know that the money was given to her. The person stepped forward and admitted to stealing the money, before splitting it amongst the members herself.

q7BAPDg.png.fcde5aa9fe6ddbffc11ecd1b6dfc5ef9.thumb.png.1723a0a958e6f862240d80070faa6fae.png

The family shared an evening of both laughter and tension. Some members were pushed to their limits and forced to face and re-evaluate the level of trust that they had in others. Trust will continue to be earned and proven for over time, as well as remain a high-standing value of the Dojin-Kai.

Moving To The City

In a period of boredom James gained thoughts of moving to the city of Los Santos. During this thought he got in contact with one of his best friends Jimmy Highland who had a weird obsession with the colour orange, especially his "IRN-BRU Shoes". Together they both agreed it would be a fantastic opportunity but also a dangerous one.  Both Jimmy and James had heard stories about the high crime rates within Los Santos, this did not seem to faze them. Soon after their discussion they moved to Los Santos and began finding their own feet within the city. In the first few weeks of moving to Los Santos they stuck together as a pair, nobody was to be trusted. They had both been told that mining was good money within the city, this led to endless nights of mining to get to where they are now. Little did they know, they would both be finding their own paths which was not the same.

The Fisherman's Friends

A couple of weeks into moving Jimmy and James gained a few friends while fishing on the pier. They both found themselves fishing here all the time. The friends they had met at the pier would become family. The name "Fisherman's Friends" had quickly become a thing, though the family did not consider themselves a gang. The Fisherman's Friends began to realise that fishing all the time can make you feel insane, this is how they have all found their own paths. It seemed like most of the family had decided to take the legal route with some of them joining the DOC. James felt the legal life was just not for him and decided to try and find his own path by joining a gang with a couple of the fisherman (Mark and Davie). The gang they quickly got into was the "Gambetti Crime Family". Some of the family still remain fisherman and will always be seen down the pier together.

The First Encounter

A few days after joining the Gambetti James received a radio message from someone that he did not recognise. The message was very cryptic and requested that all members meet them on the beach, it seemed that the Gambetti had messed with someone and now they're taking revenge. There was one problem, James and Davie were the only members of the Gambetti awake in the city and Davie was MIA so James had to go alone. This was very frightening as he had no idea what he was getting himself into. Upon arriving to the meet location approximately 20 members of the Dojin-Kai got out of their vehicles and stood proudly as a family, James knew this was serious. It had quickly become clear that a member of the Gambetti had robbed one of the Dojin family members and taken some weapons which were not theirs. James was informed that Davie had been kidnapped until a debt was paid, a debt of 3 .50 pistols for Dave's safe return and an AK47 once the leader of the Gambetti Sarah Ryan returned to the city. This was everything that the Gambetti had stolen from the Dojin-Kai, they just wanted back what was rightfully theirs. From this point James knew he had joined the wrong side and the Gambetti had later disbanded after this altercation. James' new goal was to find a family that was more organised and had the same beliefs as he did.

Present - MINARAI (見習い)

James felt like he had presented himself in a respectful manner during his first encounter with the Dojin-Kai, he hoped that this would help him with joining them in the future. Weeks later a few members of the Dajin-Kai were fishing on the pier when one of the members pulled up to James asking how he knew him. James explained the story and the man asked James if he had found a new family. James told him that he was still looking for someone who is able to provide what he is looking. He was looking for a organised family which knew about respect, discipline and would not just go around robbing every person they see on the street. This is when the man James was speaking to told him to go and speak to one of their recruiters Lola. Everything went very well for James and he was eventually welcomed to the family as a new Minarai. The first family meeting James went to involved talks of respect and how the Dojin-Kai want to go back to their roots, they felt as if the recent cold war had displaced what they stood for. James knew this is where he wants the settle in and continue his path in Los Santos.
