  1. Let's try to keep the comments constructive rather than just putting a -1 or something toxic. If you disagree with the suggestion, then state why so all sides can be considered.
  2. Apologies, I misread the OP. On that note then, I agree that the time limits may restrict some RP opportunity, but my points regarding IC decisions stands. You can't commit felonies and expect to have little to no consequence. Times have already been improved as it is. And this is still an IC suggestion.
  3. I believe I have seen one example of this already being done. Someone wanted to run their own towing business, so to allow for this to work with the script, they were put in the LSC faction and given their own admin spawned tow truck. +1 to the suggestion. I think this would help provide more diversity and opportunity for player run businesses in an easier manner with proper script support and allow for more mechanic availability for everyone.
  4. I don't think the suggestion is to change the rules around engagement/DM regarding someone you know is calling the cops on you. The suggestion is to allow for /low to be used with a 911 call (or calls in general) so that someone can feel they can more safely and realistically call the cops without having the run to the city bank if they are Eclipse Towers just to not be heard on the phone. +1 to the suggestion
  5. +1 Agreed with the points above.
  6. Not being able to have a gun for a certain period of time due to IC consequences is not locking people out of roleplay opportunities. The only thing that not having a gun stops someone from doing is using them for illegal purposes (at which point you might as well go full illegal anyways), or something extremely niche such as a private security situation. If you want a legal character, and to have a legal gun license, why make the conscious RP choice to do something criminal, then complain about the repercussions afterwards? As SquirtleSquad said above, this is entirely IC as well. Nothing about the firearms licensing other than the script used to issue/remove them is OOC. This is a suggestion to take up in character, just like if you wanted the jail time served for a certain charge adjusted, you would bring it up IC to the Law Review Committee.
  7. -1 Speaking from experience as a long time SWAT member, I can tell you that following the gun update, I have been getting melted in gun fights with 150 AP. I had a gun fight recently where I went down in 3 hits with full HP and 150 AP. Not 100% certain what i was shot with. Also, keep in mind crims don't even have AP rounds yet, which will likely melt through armor even more. Not sure about SED's policies, but SWAT almost always used 150 AP as it is. We rarely ever use the 200 AP variant unless we know for certain we are about to go into World War 3.
  8. If you are looking to share OOC things and RP stories/pictures, isn't that what these forums are for?
  9. +1 if you can only remove gas from the NPC spawned vehicles. If it was used on player's vehicles, people would just use the feature to troll and grief others.
  10. Please update your post with the proper format here: Date and time (provide timezone): Character name: Issue/bug you are reporting: Expected behavior: Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Vehicle license plate number*:

  12. I would like to revive this topic. Over two years later and Law enforcement are still running to the general store down the road from the property to buy a few bolt cutters. Things have changed and private labs don't exist in bulk like they used to, so I feel the conversation that was occurring here before isn't the same now. I can see both sides of the table here, so yes, it would be ideal to allow /ram to work for interior doors, but if the feeling is a balance is needed to open doors, than at least give law enforcement bolt cutters in faction loadout.
  13. I was actually thinking about this recently and going to suggest this myself. The server already detects where you get damaged and shows that info in /mywounds or /analyse wounds. Depending on the type of damage shown, melee wound or gunshot wound, you could use different medical items to treat it. I would also suggest that you have to either be on duty government personnel or have a valid medical license for the script to allow you to use the medical items, so that people with no training can't use it and its not abused, similar to how painkillers cannot be taken in the middle of a gunfight, these medical items cannot be abused in the same way. Regardless, 100% support this and its long past time we update medical RP and add some more fun and depth to it.
  14. You could start a real estate company ICly without any dev support. Just advertise your company and collect the info from buyers and sellers and advertise the properties for sale through existing means or your own created source.

    K-9 Roleplay

As Waryerz said, it is not possible for normal players to RP as a K9 unit as the dog. Only server staff, moderators or admins, can change their character model to become animals. Certain factions do allow for K9 RP with mods acting as the dog for their handlers, and you may do that if you are very committed, but it would take months, if not years, of hard work at a minimum to become a moderator within server staff.
  16. This bug has been an issue for 1-2 years at least now.
  17. The OP directly says "K9 units for police, who can be used to search for criminals using scriptly sniffing out a car and hunting the suspect (specially trained K9 handlers only.)" referencing a source for LSPD K9's. My comment was regarding the suggestion and the value it adds to the server. Thanks for providing us your valuable feedback man we all were wondering
  18. This is already several open suggestions:
  19. I don't honestly see the value in implementing this suggestion. Also, I for one don't want to have dog fights or anything related in the server. The LSPD already has a RP backstory and source for their K9 units that we put together.
  20. I am in support of all of your suggestions, but I have my doubts with point 4. Tow trucks are powerful tools to have in the server and can abused easily if you aren't careful. With two clicks, you can pick up any car you want and move it, whether its locked or not. If someone abuses it, it can become NRP really quickly. Those who are given tow trucks to use should be a reputable faction and have trust of server staff that they will use it properly.
  21. +1 I am all for group activities and incentivizing people to RP together rather than alone as long as its still balanced in terms of money made.
  22. Prices absolutely go up when you raise minimum wage. The company has fixed overhead cost to running the business, and if their cost of running the business is required to go up by paying its employees more, than to maintain profits and stay in business, the money to compensate has to come from somewhere, and with many other overhead costs already fixed to some degree, the only place to compensate is with price to the customer. Not only do prices for the end distributor rise due to higher employee costs, but the suppliers cost also goes up due to their cost increase. So likely, the supplier ends up raising prices to maintain margins to distributor, and the distributor has to raises prices to maintain their margins/profits. Basic economics and business.
  23. I said insane to drive 200 kph in an RPly populated city, not the freeway. I am speaking to this point from an RP perspective due to how the city would be realistically highly populated. And I have to disagree that a Chevy Cruze could do 200 as easily as you claim. I have driven them before and they would have a hard time doing that. I agree with your points regarding realism for the vehicles. I am not disputing real life vehicle specs. I am looking at the suggestion from a server health perspective. What good will come from the suggestion in regards to the health of the server? All vehicle specs need to be considered in the balance of the game. Do some of those supers you are asking for a speed increase for already have top of the line handling for example? Most often, vehicles in the server are balanced to have trade-offs to achieve balance for chases. An issi sport for example is a meta vehicle commonly used in chases by criminals. It has great acceleration and handling to turn very quickly, but the top speed isn't that great. A rapid GT has really good top speed, but suffers on the turns more. These server health factors need to be considered above realism at times to ensure the server stays in a healthy place from a balance perspective.
  24. There is a group of admins/server staff called legal faction management that oversee the RP standards of any legal faction, such as Law enforcement, government factions, mechanics, Medics, etc. If there was issues as you describe here, they would be corrected first by the faction leaders of these groups, and as a secondary measure, by Legal Faction Management. If you have evidence of severe DM or rule breaks that you are referencing above, I can assure you that any leaders within law enforcement factions would encourage you to make a forum report and perhaps even send it to them, as Einhart has done above. Please don't spread misinformation or slander a group based on rumors or hearsay. If you have actual evidence of this poor RP occurring, make a forum report against those players and server staff will deal with it accordingly. No one is above the rules of the server.
