  1. +1 overall. Support everything mentioned here. I know it had been brought up in other threads, but one other point to mention as well as one of the major current issues is the lack of new content. I believe the devs agree with some of the suggestions and complaints made by the community, such as the DOC situation as an example...however they are only able to work so quickly because of the lack of development manpower. With such a small dev team, even if they agreed with everything on this post and made the decision to implement it all, I feel it would take so long to put in place, many of us might not ever see it. The dev team NEEDS to add more people to their team and push more content. They do a great job with all of the content they release and give a uniqueness to this server that makes it what it is, but its just too slow. I know its hard to train others or trust others with the source code and other issues that may be involved here, but at some point it needs to be realized that the current progression of content just isn't working and a change is required. Agreed with everything you mentioned as well Clank. There are instances on forum reports where staff are investigating fearRP breaches and they are literally analyzing frames of video evidence looking at MILLISECOND differences between two people pulling out their guns and who has who under fearRP first. You have to be joking with this nonsense. FearRP is just a terrible rule to begin with in the way it is enforced and used as it limits players so much. I get the intent behind it to prevent non-RP, but the rule in of itself CREATES non-rp. Players who RP a certain character have to sometimes completely change the way their character acts to the point its non-RP in itself to conform to the rule and then that person just doesn't get to play anymore. They get to sit there and comply with every demand given to them, or simply get reported for fearRP. No opportunity what-so-ever to RP back or have any say in what they do, just cuz the other person pulled their weapon first. Absolute BS and so restrictive...and what a joke that it gets taken to the point that MILLISECONDS of difference of people pulling their weapons is being analyzed. All of that being said, this is not a slam on server staff. They are just doing their job as they have been told to. This is a problem with the server rules themselves. In my opinion, rather than have such restrictive rules, let people have more conflict. Let people shoot each other more freely. If two gangs want to fight, let them fight. The issue will resolve itself if they fight too often as there will be too many resources lost, whether its manpower, guns, or overall just money. Sometimes you need to let things naturally sort themselves out. Let everyone just be creative and have fun with it. So disgusting that everyone is so afraid to even play the game anymore without the fear of being reported with every single situation they get into. And that brings me to my last point of the play-to-win mentality. This goes hand in hand with what's already been mentioned about the reports. WAY too many players now with a disgusting play-to-win attitude. Its a game bro. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Get over it. Losing a situation doesn't always necessitate "SaVe pOv". I feel this could also be resolved with rebalancing of the pricing of everything. Lower the prices of weapons for crims. Its been said over and over and over. Enough with the grinding. This isn't runescape man, the grind isn't necessary. Let players get the things they need to RP more easily. It shouldn't be about sitting around all week just grinding money to have fun for 10 minutes at the end of the week and then lose it all, then rinse and repeat next week.
  2. +1 Probably low on the dev priority list compared to other items, but nice suggestions.
  3. +1 to the concept. I can't speak to or agree with the pricing as I don't interact with these features enough to have an opinion.
  4. While I agree with you that there are certainly some people who don't seem to be on the server for primarily RP purposes, or just don't take it seriously enough, there are also still people that care and do put in good effort. I think burgershot has become sort of a gathering area for these non-rp underage players. I would recommend trying to find other places to invest your time to get a better response. To be fair on the same note though, there were many times on the pier back in the day when that was also a gathering of immature non-rp players as well. Playing as a LEO in the server, we all hated going to the pier for presence or responding to calls due to all of the non-rp ridiculous things that occurred there every time. Literally couldn't go down to the pier without these people jumping onto the police car and dancing and saying vulgar words for no reason other than to be immature and obnoxious, despite how unrealistic and non-rp it was.
  5. There is a really easy fix for this...don't break the law in a very public and open space, and cops won't harass you if you paid for the parking, didn't wear a mask and parked your vehicle properly to begin with, cops won't have a reason to say anything to you. I don't see an issue with removing the parking pay though. But that sounds like an IC discussion with the state government to have that done.
  6. -1 This discourages RPing and interacting with other players as it can all be done on your own. Step in the wrong direction for the server.
  7. As for your advertising issue, there are IC ways to advertise houses already! Yes, some of them could use improvement, but its not a massive issue. As for your mortgage idea, there are player ran businesses IC that offer loans for this kind of thing as well already. I personally bought a 4G 4 mill house in Vinewood using a loan and paid it off over the course of 4-6 weeks. Inquire in game to figure some of that out though.
  8. -1 This is an RP server, not an MMORPG. This would only incentivize more "meta" actions and activities and create more unnecessary grind that people won't want to do.
  9. I think the minigame is in a good state currently as far as compensating for lag and all that as long as your internet is horrendous. That aside, I think the minigame should pickup where you left off when you failed as long as there are proper negative repercussions in place when you do fail (i.e. breaking your lockpick if your lockpicking something and setting off the alarm).
  10. +1 The realistic capability of the vest/carrier should be considered that if its too full of holes and damage, it wouldn't function properly anymore, but other than that, this is a great idea.
  11. I understand your view point of RP opps here, but I have concerns that this would impact LEO's capability to do their job script wise with what we have in place as it is. Also I would rather the limited dev resources we have be spent on more needed thing such as crim drug updates, house robberies in progress and the much needed DOC update. This would be pretty low on the list and would involve quite a bit of dev work I imagine. Gotta be a -1
  12. With the state of DOC the way it is, until new content is developed/released for it, I support any type of RP opps inside prison, so +1 on this. No need to restrict allowing people to play cards in prison if it creates a more positive RP environment.
  13. ICly be the change you want to see. If you want the pier back, make it happen IC. Get people to rally there and start a movement.
  14. Perhaps reference the multiple posts from LEO players giving the exact reason why this doesn't work and why PD needs TS and how not using TS and only the in game radio has been significantly tested by LEOs and server staff and it did not work. As mentioned by JBacon, if dev support can allow for multiple radio freqs at once in game to allow LEOs to function properly, then we can get rid of TS!
  15. Agreed that the police cruiser situation should be changed. It is abused right now that most officers just go out on solo patrol, drive like a maniac and then just respawn a new cruiser once every 30 minutes. Something should change that so people drive more carefully and I think BOTH sides should do a better job of RPing injuries after a shootout or vehicle crash. LEOs should not have to pay for their own equipment. That's nonsense and unrealistic. There SHOULD however be some limitations where resources such as vehicle and weapons need to be paid for from the faction budget. That way if there are officers that are blowing through the budget by doing reckless things like destroying cruisers or losing weaponry, then they can be dealt with IC with consequence for that. I agree with the faction loadout at cruisers issue, but some divisions, such as SWAT, need capability to do that. There is a lot of gear RPly stored inside some of the SWAT vehicles (ammo, armor, weapons etc.) that wouldn't make sense to not be able to access unless there were large scale script changes to store the actual things in there, and not just RP them being stored there. As mentioned by others, the pager is not an issue. As part of the SWAT command team, I can assure you that the pager is used maybe once a day, and even when it is, its because there already very few people online (low pop time of the day) and with how spread out everyone is in time zones, only 1, maybe two people every actually log on from the pager. Most often, even if they do log on from it, the situation is already (nearly) done by the time they clock on and gear up. Also, the pager only goes out to SWAT on PD's side, so its only about 15 people total. I agree with reducing armor capability a bit. I think regular patrol officers would not be wearing as much armor as they do. Only SWAT members would likely have lots of armor. 50 AP seems more reasonable for regular patrol officers. For the carbine, I don't think it needed the 20% damage boost the other weapons got. That could be reverted. Also, although the carbine is restricted by rank to supervisors and above, I think it should be further limited so not every officer that can carry one should be all the time. There are IC protocols that are supposed to limit carbine usage in some situations for those certified to use it, but that's not enforced as well as it could/should be. Lastly, I will reiterate what has been said by others and what I have said in the past...I see some valid points being made, but this is not a cops vs robbers server. Its an RP server. LEOs should have and need to have the upper hand. This isn't a battle royal game where you gear up and should be on equal footing as everyone else and try to just get into every shootout you can every 2 minutes. If you spent less time focusing on how to get as many W's as possible and focus more on quality RP situations (not all of which need to involve shootouts or violence), you would probably enjoy yourself more and the server would be better for it.
  16. +1/-1 I go both ways on this one. I like the concept of learning skills and being able to expand RP opportunities for "DIY" or player owned businesses, but there were several updates this year to try and push players to central areas and RP hubs, such as removing many hospitals or usable police stations. I feel that if everyone was able to just fix their own car or there were too many player owned businesses that could do it, then it would spread everyone out again and too few people would want to go to LSC or Bayview.
  17. +1 No reason a van shouldn't have the capacity to transport anyone...
  18. +1 Good suggestion and should be easy to implement.
  19. +1 Could certainly improve RP capabilities!
  20. -1 As Ash mentioned, rule breaks will be difficult to be dealt with if people aren't seeing the IDs. If you don't want to see people names for your own immersion, then don't utilize alias for yourself.
