  1. I can see the appeal but you can always RP having patches etc. in /do. I RP checking patches on peoples jackets with /me and have them respond back in /do, so far it works.
  2. Really cool stuff on the forums guys, hope you include some more interactions with LSPD as noone currently RPs as the FIB/FBI.
  3. If you feel that something about firearms licensing can be better then you should talk to the right person about it IC. Its run by players so theres nothing really preventing you. Everything you need to know about it can be found out IG and on the gov. forums. If you really want to try new RP that your character isn't eligible for then making a new character is always an option. My first character didn't turn out how I wanted to so I started over. Its not the end of the world. If you want to bring some of your stuff over then make a transfer request easy as that.
  4. A cruiser goes 20 km/h faster than an Elegy but an Elegy accelerates twice as fast, brakes twice as fast, and takes corners twice as fast. I don't see your point here.
  5. We already have a Dinghy which is actually below that range when I bought mine. But more variety would be cool.
  6. Just as an update, this is not fixed and crates still function this way. I've seen one with over a dozen layers inside of it. You can store an unlimited amount of weed plants/drug materials inside a crate, simply by putting it in another crate.
  7. Was just about to suggest this, I feel that alot of people are driving in a very non-RP way with buses and garbage trucks, would be an easy way to circumvent it.
  8. best of luck in portraying the Ballas.
  9. You clearly have 0 clue on how the faction operates. In order to qaulify to be certified for a shotgun, the very bare minimum amount of time you need to be in the faction is 2 months. That is considering everything goes smoothly and you get promoted in the minimum time needed. Then you have to actually be certified for the weapon, and if you fail the test/have a bad internal record you may be denied access to it. The minimum rank to take out a high speed unit is a supervisory rank. It can take faction members up to a year to even reach that point. Myself personally have even after being in the faction for over 6 months, don't have access to that yet, and theres alot more people who've been around for longer without access to one. The fact that you can say we get given a shotgun, a pistol and more straight off the bat with 0 RP on trainings or anything other than that is not accurate. Police weapons are not stealable and have not been for a very long time exactly to prevent that sort of abuse.
  10. I'll agree with this change if being tazed prevents someone from running or jumping (not walking) for 1 minute. The amount of times people are tazed multiple times and simply run away like nothing happened after the short few seconds are up is stupidly high, and changing tazers to have limited shots will just lead to more people powergaming their escape.
  11. The LSPD has an entire traffic division. If some officers give you verbal warnings then you can expect others to enforce them fully. At the end of the day ICly the traffic laws exist in the penal code so its up to them if they feel like its something their character would enforce.
  12. If you're only going to use vehicles that are "competitive" instead of matching your own lore, then you're part of the problem. In which universe does a criminal have a streched drag bike and evades police using it on a daily basis? How many people in Eclipse actually use the drag as its meant to be used, to RP an actual drag bike, have drag races on a strip, etc.. If the changes were not made then the drag would've stayed as the go to OP vehicle that everyone wants to have. Not because its a prop that starts interesting roleplay, but because they want to up their chances of winning.
  13. The reason drags were nerfed was largely because alot of people started abandoning vehicles that their character would use, in favor of a vehicle which granted them an edge. The drag was OP, and thats really the only reason people used them. Instead of a street gang driving muscle cars, lowriders, vans, they drove drags. Not because it suited their character/factions theme, but because like you said they felt more confident using it cause their chances of escape are much higher on it. The nerf happened really because the drag was the biggest offender of this problem. While the drag nerf while push people to stop using the bike for the sake of its power, people will most likely just find the 2nd best bike/car to escape in and start using that. Its really a mentality issue that the community has and while nerfing the drag is part of the solution, its not going to automatically make people want to use RP vehicles overnight.
  14. I don't get what there is to talk about on an OOC forum. The situation you describe is something IC. Let me paint you this image, just as an example I'll use the Aztecas like you said before: An Azteca is involved in a pursuit. At the end of the pursuit, several other Aztecas with similar gang clothing and vehicles ambush and shoot down the original officer in the pursuit, before opening fire on the rest and killing multiple people. Now you tell me that a gang pulls stunts like these, which if they choose to then from an OOC standpoint thats alright. But as a consequence, our IC reaction would be to increase focus on that group. Sounds fair no? A good example of this would be WCA which disbanded ages ago, but at a time they chose to be the #1 enemy in the eyes of PD. They chose to RP that way and received the consequence. Now lets say another gang for example, the recently disbanded Tsukoyomi. While they are a criminal group, they keep most of their actions behind the scenes. There are rare ocurrances where we catch them in the act, but most of the time they rarely ever kill officers publicly. Sure we would make sure they're not causing trouble, but they're not our primary focus. Now which one would you say would make more sense for an officer to target? IC choices carry IC consequences. I don't think theres really anything to talk about OOCly.
  15. It was recently (around 1 month-ish back) decided that serious charges such as murder will now be charged multiple times depending on how many times it is done. For example, if someone kills 2 people, then shoots at 1 police officer, they will get 2x Murder and 1x Attempted Murder of a Gov. Employee. The changes were made mostly to discourage people just going around killing people without any regard. Someone involed in killing 8 people in a shootout was to get the same charge as someone killing 1 person in a small robbery, which wasn't fair. I think that if prison times were capped once more, these changes would mostly become irrelevant, and it will continue encouraging more people to partake in shootouts without much regard. A regular evasion, if not done with anything else, is usually just 60 minutes. If you were driving extremely bad, maybe 120 minutes max. Regular charges still carry reasonable prison times. If you can only afford to spend 6 hours+ in jail once a week, then that should be how much you go around shooting at people. The rest should be filled with other RP.
