  1. I did say in my original post that I can understand people not wanting to vote for suggestions that made their time in the server more difficult but if people can perhaps have an open mind and see that we can increase prison times if we do it the right way. The goal isn't to fuck over criminals here, PD needs criminals, but it's to make crime make more sense and mean more to both sides. No point in having a massive prison interior and a Corrections faction if we got no prisoners, but at the same time, we gotta make sure that the arrests are legit AND that people are getting the sentences they deserve for the crimes they commit.
  2. I think given people's attitudes to driving and the amount of sports vehicles in circulation, increasing the highway and rural limits by 20mph each would be fine. I think 80 is probably a good number for the city personally. You aren't too fast but then you don't take the fun out of driving either. Unfortunately an IC thing though.
  3. I realise that there is going to be stiff opposition to increasing prison times because hey, no one wants to vote to make things more difficult for themselves do they, whether they are a cop or a criminal. I am a cop in this server and I do think that the two-hour sentence cap leads to a lazy attitude to crime which lessens the impact of committing crimes or catching criminals for both sides. If you are doing illegal things out in the open because you don't care if you get caught then there is an imbalance that needs to be addressed there. What I'd like to achieve in with this suggestion Major Criminals Factions to have to re-think how they operate. There is a reason why they call it the criminal underworld. Criminals are far too obvious and brazen with their activities, partially because they know that at most, they'll do two hours in prison and that's that. I want to see Criminal Factions make it harder for cops to arrest them, not easier. The reality is, it's often harder to catch a serial speed violator than a gang member in this server and that's pretty backwards. The Investigations Bureau, SWAT and Department of Corrections to have a bigger role in the catching and looking after of suspects. The Investigations Bureau can spend days, even weeks building a case on a target and when it comes time to arrest them, they go away for 2 hours? The same goes for SWAT, you can spend half that person's sentence trying to find them. As for the prison and Corrections, that faction is never going to get any better than it is while it has 3-4 prisoners at a time. They have this gigantic new interior and all these members, but they spend half their time outside twiddling their thumbs waiting for scraps of role-play with prisoners. Prisoners are their roleplaying currency, like crime is to cops and gangs. People will say there is nothing to do in prison but then what is the point adding things if no one is in there to use them? It's a constant wheel. Prison sentences to reflect the crimes the person has committed. The higher the risk, the higher the punishment but still capping it at something that is fair and manageable on all sides. Under the current system, three Reckless Operation charges gets you the same time in prison as an act of Domestic Terrorism. Prisoners not being subjected to double jeopardy when it comes to prison time AND the accompanying fine. As everyone is aware, when you get charged with something, you also get a fine that comes with it. I think a compromise of getting more prison time would be that your fine is reduced. Catching suspects using script means for PD to be harder. I understand some are upset about the 5% tip-off on imports so I feel that applying that same logic to police tapping your phone for example wouldn't be unreasonable. Police should be tested when it comes to catching criminals, the same as criminals should be tested when evading. The Suggestions
  4. Thanks for doing this Audrey, I wish the retro Issi was on there, then i'd consider donating.
  5. 10 seconds after being tazed and you need your arms when running to have any kind of speed.
  6. Am I allowed to use the It's a Game excuse for this? I was involved in the second video and the reason why both tunnels weren't blocked off is partly because we wanted to give those in the tunnel the chance to yeet. It is even the side of the tunnel where you just drive straight out that we left open IIRC. It's probably not acceptable that these barriers stop cars dead in their tracks but then it's also not acceptable that people can sprint off immediately after being stun-gunned or sprint at full speed with their hands cuffed behind their backs but bippidy boppidy.

    My situation.

I don't know you personally but my mother has serious health issues in the past so i know how it feels. Best of luck to you and yours.
  8. 1. Oh no, not a challenge! Whatever will the biggest gang on the server do? Maybe use their heads to approach situations with more than just brute force? 2. The strength of PD.. my guy, they hold us back so much. You have no idea. Police eventually always win in real life so the whole "its unrealistic" argument doesnt really play.
  9. You and me, rap when?

  10. Of course you don't like it, you have the opportunity to lose lol. There is a 5% chance that we'll receive a tip-off of your shipment and act to try and seize both you and the product. But, it's not an automatic win for the PD. No one is stopping you from coming as a group to secure your package. You talk about this 100k dropoff as well, i've been to these raids three times and on two occasions, it was just some SMG ammo. If you are buying 100k's worth of stuff at once, you are taking a big risk for a big convenience. The numbers game suggests doing more imports but for less would be safer for you but obviously, you want the path of least resistance. The only thing automated about this system is that it's set at 5%. We still have to deploy SWAT and organise ourselves more extensively than you think. You just have to scout your location properly beforehand, leave it on the ground for us to seize or come tooled up to the drop-off to fight for it. If you are sending 1-2.. even 3-4 guys to pick up the mother-lode, then that's either arrogance that no one will dare try to stop you or stupidity on your part that you think no one would think to. You guys have a small militia, use it for more than just standing outside the 24/7 playing music and painting your cars blue. I don't think it's fair that you can only go to prison for two hours when you guys commit mass-murder but bippidy boppidy, life is unfair right? Zetas are practically unopposed by other criminal factions so you need a challenge.
  11. We'll trade you this for higher prison sentences. No?

    New Homes

They could do an apartment complex, like the parking garage system. You'd just select which apartment you wanted to visit. If the door was open, you could go in. If you wanted to ring the bell, you could do that also. You could set up a number of these apartment complexes across the city, have them cost less than a house and boom.
  13. I think all they need to do is have some consistent CPU made deliveries to non-businesses, which pay slightly less than the user ones. People will still do the business ones, as they pay more but when you don't have them to do, you can still grind away.
  14. I can see why they wanted to incorporate the job into the business updates. But, yeah they need to not rely too much on user driven decisions for the job.
  15. Filling out a form to fight another faction doesn't sound very entertaining. I'm just a humble police man but I think you have to accept that when it comes to gang violence, it be like that sometimes. The strong pick on the weak. The constant blame game comes from people wanting to be the one holding the gun, not the one on their knees. Why do you think people don't make reports when they win situations? I think gang warfare should never be "planned out" and "approved" but driven by purely in-character motivations AND with something to fight over/work towards. If you are just riding around, looking for people to kill for the sake of killing them, that's GTA Online. You have to consider how a war between two factions moves the server's story along, there is no reason why a war can't continue indefinitely but it has to be for more than just not liking another faction. Crips and Bloods hate each other in real life, but it's about turf and supremacy. I don't think you want to "reward" people OOC for killing other people but I think a turf system where it's just about being able to claim that a certain area is your area is at least a step in the right direction.
  16. I dont think I made it out to be a BiG IsSuE but it was a suggestion I felt made sense. There is a difference between having a dealership literally on the beach and a dealership in Miami Beach. The spot in game is pictured above in real life, as you can see there are a lot of cars but I don't see any Lamborghinis or Ferraris. It's a temporary parking area for visitors to Santa Monica Beach. High End in game, is a big parking lot, with no security on the beach. It's at sea level, open air and at a distance of about 50-100 metres from the water.. Likely the salt water won't damage the paint immediately no, but do you really want bird shit on the paint work of your new $400,000 vehicle or sand collecting in the brake pads? Bare in mind also, these vehicles can be sitting idle for up to a week in character, so it's not even like they are only there a couple hours like the vehicles pictured. They get dirty when exposed to the elements. If this was Low End, it'd be fine. They are hunks of junk anyway, but i'm not sure your average premium car dealerships are putting their stock at risk. I suppose if you see this as just a game, then sure there's no issue but if things are supposed to be based on real life, then aside from it being a big parking lot, there is no role-play reason to have it there and it should be moved.
  17. SWAT likes this.
  18. I like the concept of the used car dealerships but there are some frustrations with it. High End's Roleplay Location High End is for all intents and purposes, supposed to be a premium used car dealership, correct? Why do we have cars that are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars right next to the ocean and beach. Saltwater has an adverse effect on the paint of vehicles, as well as sand potentially damaging the parts of the car. Just seems a little short sighted to have expensive cars parked practically next to the sun loungers on the beach. We could either move it to another location or split the high end dealership up into multiple locations, possibly creating used car dealerships as a business. Vehicle Price Limits It can be really frustrating at the best of times when you want to sell a car and there are no available slots. But when you go through the vehicles like I did today and there are 30 grand Chebureks and 50 grand bikes but a 1/3 full parking lot at Low End, it feels like there is an imbalance. Set Low End price limit up to $75,000 and High End from $75,000+ so we can more evenly distribute the vehicles and make more use of the available spaces. I feel like the current economy dictates that 75k isn't a massive amount and since New Players tend to gravitate towards the cheaper cars as their "first car", it would give them better cars to aim for. Add a CityBee Spawn to High End This only really applies if you keep it in Del Perro and although we have the Taxi Company, they don't always answer. If you are going there by yourself to sell your vehicle, you have to run across town because there isn't a facility to rent a vehicle on that side of town and obviously you don't have a vehicle to drive.
  19. It would be a lot more convenient for you and others. How many people have you spoken to with their old name and they've had to correct you?
  20. It's alright, you can only go to prison for a max of two hours anyway.
  21. I look at the application system and I think to myself, it got overloaded when we had the influx of new people a couple months back and it's never actually recovered. They can give incentives to staff to do reports all they want but it's a numbers game. The lower the number, the lower the wait time. The lower the wait time, the better. I don't think the application system is foolproof. You can be the poorest role-player for example but if you know someone that knows the rules or can roleplay then you can just ask them for the answers. The application system means you have to be connected to the server but you can't actually play as you aren't approved yet. Which would you find more frustrating? Going to register on Eclipse but being told you cannot apply right now as there is a high volume of pending applications. Registering on Eclipse, taking the time to do the application process and then having to wait 2-3 weeks just for an answer? For me, it's the second one, because if I log on and i'm told i can't apply right now, I've wasted two minutes. If I apply and Idon't get accepted, i've wasted two weeks. I wonder how many people submit good applications, wait 2-3 weeks to be approved, lose interest and then get accepted. If i've took the time to apply, I'm tenatively committed to playing here. Think it would be in the server's best interests long term to close applications for a week or so, get that number of applications right down to in the hundreds and then set a hard limit. If there is x amount of pending applications, no more can be submitted until the number is back down to y. So say, the limit for pending apps is 1500 and the quiz team has to get the number of apps down to say 800 of those before the apps re-open again. That gives you a window to stay on top of the apps AND also, it's a while before the cap is in effect.

    Burying Bodies

I'm sure there are probably a few places you could dump a body. That flowing creek in Blaine County is another one.

    Burying Bodies

Alright, so I was reading a couple suggestions about the bodies and I realised that we don't actually have the most obvious one yet. We can carry bodies, trunk bodies, cut up bodies but we can't actually bury them to my knowledge. But we can't actually bury them. The Idea You would need to have a shovel on you. Same theory as /carrybody, you'd need to be near the body. The command /burybody would start you digging a hole and this would take a little bit of time, say like 60-90 seconds. Once the hole was 'dug', if the body was still near you, it would disappear and there would be some text there that would basically say 'Mound of Dirt'. You would be able to see the text from a reasonable distance where you could see some disturbed earth but obviously not too far away. The hole would last there as long as the body was going to last, so if it's fresh body, by the time the hole is dug, it will be there for like 28 minutes. /digupbody would uncover the body and take slightly less time, say 30-45 seconds as the earth is already disturbed and would respawn the body on the spot where it was buried. I guess burying someone injured could also be a possible too. Pretty dark though. The more ways to dispose of a body, the better right?
  24. To me, my suggestions at least give the criminals a chance. The whole "Reckless Operation" thing is actually kind of underhanded, but it's not something that we as Police control. Personally, I don't think there should ever be anything in the server assigning automatic charges because to me, it's power-gaming. I get it was done for OOC reasons but we're told not to take OOC stuff IC and vice versa so why is this any different? Fines, yes. Misdemeanors, no. I don't want to fuck the criminals over, because we need there to be at least some kind of OOC understanding between us and them, but I feel like the punishment also needs to fit the crime. I want to achieve.. Leniency for first time offenders, which at least gives them a chance. Rewards the Investigations Bureau for their extensive role-play and case-building. Rewards the criminals for conducting their business in a more clandestine and smart way. Gives those that are caught something to do. Gives Corrections something more to do. Gives us all the opportunity to do more with prison roleplay i.e. breakouts, transports etc.. Not interested in fucking over the Zetas or sending Marcellos to prison for half a day. Perhaps I should make my own suggestion, kinda piggybacking on this one.
  25. I think there are two things we can take as fact here, no criminal wants to go to prison and the two hour limit on prison doesn't deter people from committing very serious crimes quite openly. There is a carefree attitude towards prison, because all things considered in a couple hours, you're free to do whatever you like again and if you are a donator, an hour and a half. I've seen arguments about DOC being small and prison being an AFK zone, but don't you understand that if we keep the max time at two hours, that is NEVER going to change. Corrections from the outside looks really boring, because half the time prison is empty. Prison roleplay is boring because there aren't enough people there to make it worthwhile roleplaying inside prison. Here is an example of how stupid the current system is. Flint Carwyn went to prison the other night for the maximum time. After he was imprisoned, Zetas kidnapped a cop and held him hostage, for the release of Flint. By the time the situation was finished, Flint was free. It was a waste of time for everyone involved, yet if Flint was in prison for 4 hours or 6 hours or whatever, there would be more on the line there. People assume that PD just want to fuck criminals over but the truth of it is, we rely on you guys committing crime to do our thing. Without you killing each other or trying to evade, we have very little to do. There is also the fact that once you are in prison, you can pretty much commit whatever crime you want and you won't really see any further consequence. DOC should have the ability to give you early release for good behaviour or extend your original sentence by some if you commit crimes in jail. Investigations Casefiles on people can take days, even weeks to build but when the pay-off is an hour or two in prison, what is the actual point? I've never been in a roleplay server where there was a functional and practical court system, so asking for a judiciary is little more than a pipe dream. It's just too time consuming and like the Investigation Casefiles, wouldn't be worth the time it would take to process everything for a small sentence. This also makes visitation more worthwhile, as there is more opportunity to visit people, the longer they are in prison. So, here's what i'm suggesting.. Prison time stays capped at two hours if you don't have any serious or gun-related felonies. This would mean that for charges like Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, you'd still only get a max of 2 hours, even with say, multiple counts of Reckless Operation. However, if you had felonies like Murder, Kidnapping, Drug/Firearm Trafficking then the two hour limit wouldn't apply. Prison time would be capped at up to four hours on your first time being charged with serious felonies and up to six hours if you'd committed serious felonies before. This would soften the blow a little for first timers to get used to the system but also, for those that are persistent offenders, it would serve them with adequate punishment for their crimes. Prisoners could be released early for good behaviour when they've served 80% of their sentence by DOC. For example, this would give someone with a 5 hour sentence the ability to be released after 4 hours. Prisoners could have their original sentence increased by up to 20% if they commit crimes in DOC. DOC won't be able to add extra charges in the MDC but they'd have to document the increase with evidence as to why obviously. For example, this would give someone with a 5 hour sentence, up to a potential six hour sentence if they committed criminal acts in prison. Add a prison job that allows felons to make money in prison and also, allows them to have something to do. Obviously this would have to be less than the normal jobs, as it's prison but it gives you something else to do and allows you at least some progression. The job could be things like creating those ready meals for prisoners or sewing mailbags or some shit. Add in a Punishment Appeal type-system that is ran by non-Law Enforcement high ups in the community to allow prisoners to appeal for wrongful arrest. The thing these court systems seem to get wrong is expecting every arrest to be put before a judge. The best way to do it would be after you have served your sentence but if it was proved that the imprisonment wasn't legit, the Police Department would have to compensate the person and within the PD, the responsible officer would be subject to disciplinary measures. The reason why I suggest after is because it's very rare that an arrest isn't correct but obviously with the investigations bureau, there is more opportunity for mistakes to be made. No point having a new prison interior if there's no one in there to make use of it.
