im actually against this. Reason being that knowing trucking locations by name is IC knowledge that will help a trucker do their job efficiently, knowing what drops are where and therefore what jobs are more valuable in terms of time and fuel. TLDR; a more experienced trucker benefits through the current system, which is how it should be. and with time you too will know the locations by name and be able to work it out yourself.

in agreeance that admins should only change weather if an event requires it, for e.g lifting rain for the Formula 1 event or making it night for a car event. i havent really seen any admins change weather outside of these parameters.

+1 For text chat centric players this is not good, as you have to prime alot of stuff and having to mouse over it instead of just being able to cntrl+A wastes precious time.

Honestly i think they would have to scrap both roulette and blackjack before poker actually gets as popular as it once was. the thing is, the UI isnt the reason poker became unpopular. poker became unpopular because easier ways to flip a coin and gamble became available, that's what most "poker" players at tequilala would do. get all the chips into the middle of the table asap and just roll the dice. if they win, great, if they dont, well its back to holding labs. changing the UI wont fix this.

Facts. Ive been saying for ages that using a personal truck and not a rental should come with some sort of monetary incentive. a percentage bonus onto each job price or something. at the moment there is no motivation to use your own truck. they cost money to refuel, repair, put through tolls, with a rent-a-truck you can just despawn and respawn. bearing in minds that trucks have MAMMOTH fuel tanks, the cost of refuelling your own is like 2k plus.

Unhide the archived forum reports section
Quietthecutie replied to Dola's topic in Implemented Suggestions
This is an extremely serious issue which does show the worst of our community. however hiding the forum reports section does not fix it. if anything, it makes it worse. Reports that used to be a matter of public record for the whole community to see are no longer available. that doesn't change the fact that people (particularly the people involved in the reports and therefore still have access to them post archive) will talk. will put their own spin and own conclusions as to why what happened to them happened and circulate that around their circle of friends and acquaintances. they will do this in DMs and unofficial discords which are impossible to moderate. and now there's no longer a record available to look at regarding it, so their word is gospel and people can no longer see the whole story and make their own conclusions. As i said, Hiding the forum reports only fosters this culture of us vs them. we are talking about a punishment system that can lock people out of characters and accounts that they spent a significant amount of time and money into. and now interested parties can no longer look at previous reports to better inform themselves about the application of the rules. you hiding this, scares people. When i started in this server i was not used to GTA RP, and took it upon myself to do a lot of reading on previous reports to figure out what flies and what doesn't. reports demonstrate this a lot clearer and in practice than the list of rules. fast forward to now and i have a spotless panel. not a single behavioural mark on it not so much as a warning. I was able to do this because i had the information available to me to be informed. we are under threat of losing that. -
Make bags work in store robberies similar to bank robberies
Quietthecutie replied to Eliza's topic in Criminal Suggestions
+1 makes no difference to grabbing times, just saves you having to constantly store packed cash manually in a bag. -
Ability to change volume of specific players
Quietthecutie replied to Sigma's topic in Game Suggestions
cool idea but i dont know how realistic this would be to implement. having every player having every other player set to a specific volume (i know most would be left untouched but i dont think thats how the server would read it.) could cause stability issues. -
hey! love your taco RP! its awesome! This issue can be fixed in game through roleplay. if you were to roleplay something along the lines of: /me shows the customer the charge on the card machine /do it would read $500 This demonstrates to the player what the charge is rply what you said it was, instead of them just having to take your word for it. if you were to scam them at that point, it would be a breach of server rules for lying in /me /do land.

biiiig +1 Most weekend nights up in vinewood are maybe 1-2 house robberies and then maybe half a dozen people just running around checking doors, this is a metagaming abuse of the UI limitations currently in place on the server. when i walk past someones front door IRL there isnt a big neon sign saying "HOUSE ROBBERY: OPEN" so why are players allowed to act on us having that sign in game? as OP said, if they catch you going in and out of the property, holding crates etc. then yes, that can warrant a little more sleuthing and a proper robbery. but when you factor in the planning time, money invested, tools, drugs and transportation you need to organise to even attempt a house robbery, having it killed off because some dude in silders and a tshirt mask randomly checked the door and magically realised the place was being robbed, so he can call the boys and get some free loot....yeah no thanks.

so its as i feared. private labs are practically non existent. alot of really good suggestions get passed up on these forums, crim and civ, but i really hope the devs look at this one. Crim RP is incredibly stale, as are the methods to make money. which if we are not counting the casino (and i dont because the odds are firmly stacked against you in everything but poker) its been years since a crim activity to make money was added. we can add all the new outfits and cars and other window dressing we like but if the core gameplay of being a crim isnt being worked on then its all for nothing. i was flicking through the patch notes and i dont see any reference to spawnrates or replishment rates being adjusted for stores banks or chop cars despite the fact one of the biggest crim activities on the server was torpedoed, meaning more people are looking for chops or stores or banks but no adjustment has been made to compensate. Somethings got to give. There are alot of extra activities that could be added to diversify crim rp. A few examples: Arson: taking a contract from a dealer, similar to house robberies, but in this one its either insurance fraud or extortion, going to a location with fuel cans and torching the place, bonus points if we can get FRD involved to put the fires out. also gives people a reason to buy jerry cans besides when they hecc up and forget to refuel. Cyber Crime: driving to a location and using a laptop to hack the local network, either doxing the system or infecting it with randsomware. minigame could be something like typing tutor to make you feel like a hacker. bonus points cus it gives laptops a reason to exist besides LEOS. Extortion/loansharking: driving to a location and either trashing the place or assualting an NPC until they give you packed cash. measures can be put in place that would trigger an LEO response if not fulfilled. if this was implemented i would expect a sharp uptick in the purchases of baseball bats etc. There ARE options for stuff we can add to this game to make it more fun.

not neccessairily. theres nothing in the script that makes you have to set up your toolbox within private property. if you find a secluded spot on the map you can set it up there. at the risk of getting robbed. in agreement that the cost for toolboxes is hella high tho. and it being an import, a heavy one....compounds the issue. This is in line with the servers want for crims to make money "on the map" instead of behind locked doors/gates.
-
I honestly like the existing script. but this will always boil down to efficiency. this is why online poker rooms (gg poker, partypoker etc.) dont simulate dealers giving you cards etc. they just bang out all the cards asap. because it looks cool maybe half a dozen times, then it gets tedious, its just slowing down the process of actually getting to play your hand. speeding up the dealers maybe 20% would go a long way to fixing the issue, whilst retaining the script.

The issue im seeing here is the whole "letting the crims go" aspect of the idea. the definition of giving crims "a reasonable chance" to get away is so open to interpretation. does a reasonable chance include LEOs pulling highspeeds, offroads and Air1 and waiting at the outskirts of the bank for people to drive off? or must LEOs stay well clear of the area until a timer expires? the reason i would want this in concrete from the get go is otherwise forums would be flooded with reports from both sides if its left so vague.

Honestly i would rather they just changed how quickly dirt shows on a freshly washed car. I use the car wash in the city, then head up north to see some friends, by the time im pulling into bayview my cars already caked in mud again despite me just going on a quick blast up the freeway, not on a rally.
-
Carwash prices at mechanics have always been mind boggling. Im fairly certain its a script issue? Because no sane person would think those prices are sensible and willingly set them that.

-1. we already have taco trucks and they barely get used. I cant see this getting much traction. the gameplay loop for the job would basically be the postal job.

I think we can all agree that the Panim update was a massive W and i have been having a lot of fun with it. However it has raised a concern, namely now that you can panim a cigarette, cigar or vape pen there is literally no reason to buy cigarettes or cigars anymore, not even for RP purposes. My idea would be for tobacco products to give you some kind of small statbuff when consumed. as nicotine is a calming drug, it would be cool if it had the same effects as marijuana but at a reduced potency, maybe half? this would give tobacco products a reason to still be sold in stores whilst not making them super powerful.

Change the current license suspension system
Quietthecutie replied to CalvinKlein's topic in Game Suggestions
this is the point we keep circling back to. If your license is suspended, you cant get your car outa impound, if its stuck in impound, youre either passenger princessing until your license is unsuspended or you simply cant play on that character. -
Proposal for Improved Real Estate Management in the Community
Quietthecutie replied to Han's topic in Game Suggestions
"housing market crashes" do happen, where a bunch of inactive players lose their properties. typically once a year you see more green houses on the map than a 12 hour monopoly game. -
+1 My brother in christ pull the trigger on this.
-
i totally agree. i wouldnt do it. forcing them to raise the price.
-
Prices ARE set by the player running the business. they pay for the delivery. if the price is too low for you, dont take the job, forcing them to increase the price or wait til the trucker is desperate. supply and demand. typically a docks to paleto run is priced in at 3-4k by the market, with players paying more if they need the delivery ASAP. you just ran into a lowballer.
