Still no racing league?

I took a quick look around the server and I noticed that most criminal activites is run by gangs, I fear this is gonna turn into a cops and robbers. Instead you could have an official faction about racing just like in LSRP. For those who dont know what URL is, Underground Racing League was a faction back in the golden days of LSRP that didnt associate with guns but criminal activities through cars. Basicly chop shops, organized illegal races (customization is a big thing here so I am surprised you dont have this), and protection was run by them without guns but passion for the road. Back then we even had some car mods rendered as illegal so that the cops could pull you over for that matter. Make it happen bois, I can pull up an old thread or two if needed. Dont turn yet another rp server into cops and robbers.

i tried to make a street racing group/faction called the street reapers but every time i have a car meet at my gas station the whole pd would pull up and bb sit the meet even though nothing illegal was going on and shut it down even when it was on privately owned gas station, so i gave up and disbanded the faction lol

Our criminal faction has and will continue to orchestrate racing events. As @gohena has said, the reason it isn't so common is that PD is very persistent on monitoring and shutting down these events so it's difficult to make them accessible to the public without running into problems. With a group of our size we tend to race among ourselves with upwards of 15-20 people with additional outsiders being brought in who we know personally. Just keep an eye out for our colors or advertisements and you'll get your racing fix . We tend to roleplay at chop shops too but don't "own" it per say.

The suggestions regarding illegal mods and an official racing faction are a huge +1 from me obviously.

Vehicle mods are something The Wanted has been discussing internally, but we aren't sure how to propose it in a way that both criminals and police can meet in the middle on. We do a lot of street races, and have been trying to lean away from the standard crim RP. But it's a real struggle doing these things without police getting involved, and we still haven't been real great about finding a way to monetize these actions, or come up with a safe place to have them.

Obviously, I am all for this. However, there has to be a middle ground to meet with the police. They won't be happy with even faster cars on the roads.  

As far as chops go, that's our primary form of income currently, we RP taking vehicles apart for customers, etc. But it's not enough for our guys to survive solely on that.

The Wanted def is a street racing group at its core. We support street races as well as rally races as of recently. While yes, there can be no car show without the PD sitting in or nearby it...we do have our sucesses in races and setting up parties and meets across the city.

I've seen several wanted races where they got permits, and even though police was present to observe they did not interfere, no one was arrested and the races went through smoothly. I don't see how having police present in a civilized city at a large gathering of individuals is painted negatively. Unless you plan on breaking laws while racing, which is not OP was talking about.

I've "gambled" at a legal race before, organized by you guys. Won too. I don't believe it's considered illegal if you get the IC permit. Not to mention technically you can make it a participation fee, and then the organizer gives a prize to the winner.

I'm mainly referring to OP's mentioning of illegal races, which we have most certainly done and had issues with PD as a result. Obviously an illegal meetup for these events are gonna raise problems with the law and i'm not complaining, i'm just saying its difficult. Hook me up wit a permanent permit cuh.

+1.  I'm trying to organize something like this currently.  I know the PD would interfere if there isn't some kind of permit, but they'd be writing tickets for speeding almost assuredly. Maybe even reckless driving.  You can't really street race without breaking speed limits.

I tried to make TRS (The Road Slayers) a successful faction, but there's no interest in this kind of RP at all. Everyone is in a gang or a government faction, and I could barely recruit the few members we have. After a few months of worthlessly trying I just had to throw it because of IRL exams and stuff. I have the time rn, so I could revive it but... Who would it be for? The only one who was RPing actively was me. Others came to RP a few times, but everyone who got recruited is too inactive - that's probably why they are not in a gang or government faction. Basically, the whole server is made for government factions and gangs. If someone wants to make something unique without being in one of these, he has almost zero chance to succeed since they can't offer anything as good as the official factions can. For example, we have no real way to get income without joining a faction. (I am not counting the normal jobs since that's no RP at all, and just doing same tasks over and over is nothing I personally would want to do on an RP server.

Sounds like an IC thing. If you want a certain group that does certain things, it's up to you and others to make it happen. There's absolutely no need that a gang has to be official or not in order to function in the game. There are some great groups that don't have official status and they're doing fine. 

Remember that gangs and other groups get official status when they keep playing, trying and have good RP. Show that you can do that and you may get that official faction status. It's something you should earn, not get from the start.

As stated by Marca, this is an IC thing and the work should be done ICly to get to the status of an official player faction. Official factions should only be given from the start to necessary groups (ie: Police, EMS, etc) and everything else is earned after proof of extensive and continued RP. If you want more street races, come together ICly to try to make it work. There are many ways to do this, you just have to talk to the right people and go about it the right way.

There is alot of intrest in this but most people dont want to dedicate to pure racing loads of people meet up and have races all the time but they all got their own stuf fto do too

As stated by others, if there is enough interest, this could be implemented IC. And is currently being worked on by The Wanted. If you have the energy and passion to make this a reality, I recommend joining up with them and putting in the time and effort to make it come to light. 

Its unlikely the Devs are going to create a faction for you/us. The best way to create new factions/organizations/business types is to create it ICly, and if it gets enough attention, it is possible Devs add some support for it. An example of this is the casino which is now an NCZ.
