Resize all "glovebox" storage space to match realistic "interior" storage capacity of a vehicle.

  • Who is the suggestion for?
    - anyone who uses a vehicle
  • Why is the suggestion being made?
    - to re-balance vehicles internal storage to make more sense, fix some game balance issues with certain meta vehicles, and give some buffs to other vehicles.

  • What are the pros and/or cons of the suggestion?
    - Pros: (will update as people discuss)
    - Cons: (will update as people discuss)

So. Why does every vehicle have the exact same "glovebox" capacity? every vehicle has 6 slots and 10 volume, doesnt matter if you're driving a sports bike or a Minivan. All vehicles currently have some form of variation in trunk size to balance them, why cant we get the same for interior space?

The easier solution i could think of would be set the slots and volume based on vehicle class, and then as necessary modify specific vehicles.
Motorcycles need a slot reduction and massive volume reduction. explain to me where I can fit a drum mag ak-47 with 200rnds inside a BF400 with room to spare?
Supers and sports should likely keep the slot number but have a reduction in volume.
Vans, SUV's and Off-Roads would all likely get a slot increase and a large volume increase.

obviously this isnt a super fleshed out idea and balancing would need to be figured out and tested, but I think this would be an interesting thing to try out, and ways to nerf meta and high speed vehicles while giving some utility buffs to utility focused vehicles. thoughts?

Im a fan of this. +1

In the inventory its called a "glove box" and most are fairly similar in size, but in gameplay land, this is all the space in and around a car people are not sitting in and is concealable. larger vehicles should have larger space, smaller vehicles like 2 seaters and supercars should get way less, sports bikes should get minimal.

Massive +1 I feel like this would do a lot for the community especially demotivate players that play for the fights aswell because I agree its insanely unrealistic for a gun bigger than a .50 to fit inside the glovebox of a bike

I support this suggestion and I think it would push for more realistic usage of certain vehicle depending on the situation (such as not using a motorcycle for a large scale gang fight as your gun and armor won't fit in it for example).

Finally a non-PD related suggestion!

While I think that the premise of resizing the glove-box to fit the vehicle type, I think you do run the danger with these kinds of things where you make certain vehicles less useless which in turn, creates more 'meta' and less variety. Lord knows we already have a lot of that.

That being said, I think alternatively if we added purchaseable vehicle storage options from LSC, Bayview and Bennys then it's something for people to invest in. Because some times it's not an issue of weight, it's an issue of spaces.

Perhaps based on the vehicle class, the vehicles would have x amount of slots and weight but if you went to a mechanic shop, you could extend your storage if you paid money.

While I can take peoples points about the rifles and pumps being a little yucky, it's not the end of the world.

+1 my suggestion is adding maybe other places to store your stuff in a car. For example a person sitting in something like a limo all a longer vehicle wouldn’t be able to view glovebox.

So implement a change from were you can access it also adding another for a back seat passenger like under the seat/the side doors. Or either the driver “Glovebox” some cars have storage in ARM REST bit for storage. Also not forgetting some vehicles have roof boxes if possible able to implement a feature up there. To pay more at any of the mechanic shops for it.
