The Scout police SUV

Recommended Posts

PD and or SD go crazy in these SUVs up and down mountains like it isn't an SUV. I don't think an SUV should be allowed to go up a mountain the same way a bike or an actual off-road vehicle can it's insanely unrealistic to say the least

Maybe give the police other off-road vehicles to choose from would be my suggestion. I just hate when you've clearly got the advantage these cops just be following you up a 90 degree angle in a freaking SUV haha. It's too much and i'm sure i'm not the only one who thinks so.

You have access to the same vehicle so you can do the same things in it with the exception of ramming I guess since they have ram bars and normal ones don’t so I’m unsure what the issue is? Or is the point that one of their main daily driver vehicles shouldn’t be allowed to do that and they should have a specialised one?

The Scout is based on a Ford Explorer. A google search states that the Ford Explorer is great for going off-road, as it has 4 wheel drive and a powerful engine.

The LEO factions have other vehicles they can utilize for off-roaring, such as a Kamacho.

sure but alot of SUVs are considered "off-road" vehicles if you look at wiki lol, just not off-road enough to climb up a mountain you know?

yes, the point is they should have special off-road vehicles for that kinda terrain, just like the Kamacho. i doubt anyone has ever taken a ford exlporer up a mountain you know haha 😄

even the first video just proves my point lol... "we're gonna do it in a vehicle you would never expect"
and do you see how slow they're going not to literally die lol.

You ask for realism but you mention being changed up 90 degree angles. Realistically no car or bike will be able to go up 90 degree angles.

The scout is available to civilians and they can offroad just as much in it.

It's a GTA server, we have off-road and non off-road vehicles. As long as it's in the off-road category, you can go off-road any way you would like.

There really is no point to prove. They are capable vehicles. If you don't allow Scouts to go off-road, law enforcement factions will have to adapt and use other vehicles to make it up such as the Kamacho and Caracara, which are already available to most faction members. Big pass on seeing Kamachos everywhere so let's close an eye on the scouts.

id rather want to see some ACTUAL off-road vehicles chase me rather than 2 or 3 SUVs just piling up a mountain like it's a piece of cake lol specially when i'm in a proper off-road vehicle myself

Why is this thread titled "The Scout Police SUV" when it's accessible by every single player on the server? I feel like this is targeted at LEO's when criminals buy the scout for the exact same reason.

The vehicle is designed for off-road use. It complies with server rules for its use in that manner. Sure, PD has the Kamacho, but that isn't accessible to all IC. Do you expect PD to have a vehicle specifically to chase your off-road capable scout? The PD scout is top-heavy anyway due to the light bar on top, so actually performs worse than the one accessible by anyone else on the server.

Massive -1

i don't think gangs should be able to drive up mountains in it either lol. The title is the way it is cause it's from personal experience.
You can feel whatever you want in regards to the naming of the thread, it's the fact that a SUV shouldn't be able to climb a mountain the same way an actual car built for off-road / hill climbing can

This is where we need to concede that this is infact, a videogame.

whilst we try to base our RP to be as IRL as possible, fact is that criminals run around in BFs and Kamachos almost exclusively so that when they evade, they can go offroad.

The Scout is the most common PD/SD cruiser and a large part of the reasoning behind it is to keep up with such vehicles and be able to follow them offroad. its also one of the most "inoffensive" looking off road vehicles. it would look very wrong if LEOs constantly drove round in kamachos which are a civilian model of a millspec vehicle. we would look like an authoritarian dictatorship (imagine...🤡)

Also, handy list of all accepted off road vehicles for those interested:

A Druguar, Kamacho or a Brawler

None of those you mentioned (their irl equivalent) are made for vertical hill/mountain climb. Even on rocky terrain they'd have to travel incredibly slow. I'd argue just as slow as a ford explorer would. I think a lot of people on the server really confuse what "off-roading" means and how it is different from hill climbing.

I get the feeling this post was made as a knee jerk reaction to one rhetorical situation where you were not happy with the outcome.

SUV = Sport Utility Vehicle. They are made for off-roading and rougher conditions. I sometimes understand the complaints about the tools PD has available...but the Scout of all thing? Not sure about that one chief.
