Add a max amount of people that can do activities together
AtlasOLimbo replied to Eliza's topic in Rules Suggestions
-1 One of the reasons why I've stuck to Eclipse is this ability to have these large-scale, grandiose encounters. Sucks to be limited to how many friends I can partake in something in simply because a rule says I can only have so many friends present. Small groups have to work around big groups it's true, but I think to a degree that's how it should be. A majority of the large groups in F4 have worked very hard to get to and stay where they are, they're rewarded their high-tier imports and the likes as a result that they then feed to lower, less-established groups. Thus is the pecking order. -
-1 Private labs are awful for the server in so many ways. A) Inflation. For very minimal risks long-standing crims of the server made millions upon millions of dollars with relative ease. You could say you're always at the risk of blowing up but well-knowledged crims knew how to avoid this and did so. B) Roleplay/engagement on a roleplay server. We should never encourage someone to sit alone in an interior to make money, in doing so is the antithesis of a multiplayer environment that thrives off joint storytelling. C) De-valuing drugs/influence. This simply offers a way to gain influence with little to no risk involved.

+1 For the most part. The bag searching would still need some kind of animation or even an /ame, but could very well be solved to prevent the issue mentioned above of pulling a heavy out with 0 RP and 0 pre-visibility.

Date and time (provide timezone): November 30th 6:45 AM EST Game Edition (Legacy/Enhanced/both): Legacy (AFAIK been reported on both.) Character name: Orlando Callahan Does this issue appear again after a full game restart?: Yes How many times did this issue appear for you?: Constant. Issue/bug you are reporting: All notifications in the top center of the screen, along with their beeps are significantly delayed. This seems to also delay some actions. Expected behavior: Notifications appear in realtime and are able to dismiss one another, preventing such an issue. Evidence (MUST provide either UNEDITED photo or video) , notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Vehicle license plate number*: N/A

LEO Weapon & Armour Rental System (Economic Balance Proposal)
AtlasOLimbo replied to Xylum's topic in Archive
Why are we so intent on giving LEOs something to rage over and go into /b the same as anyone else when they lose? This is not the solution that people believe it is. All this will do is make LEOs much quicker to get aggressive and much more violent with people. Especially people who are simply stumbling across scenes or seen interfering with pursuits. The behavior of LEOs solely relies on how strong your respective faction's supervisory team is and their own behavior. I personally have wanted permanent vehicles for the longest time where cops actually have to be considerate of fuel and the state of their vehicle, but that also doesn't mean I believe that cops should be footing the bill for these vehicles. This suggestion particularly hamstrings specialized units who rely on heavy weaponry as a part of their daily kit and are focused on high-risk situations. -
They have been nerfed drastically. Two shots before you need to go and grab another has resulted in very drastic changes to how foot pursuits are handled, along with internal changes in the approach to foot pursuits. I don't think this post fairly considers the opposite side.

Cap server FPS to 120 or add a 220 Speed cap
AtlasOLimbo replied to Jay_Valentino's topic in Game Suggestions
Is the argument here genuinely if people cannot pay for a competitive edge, the server will die? -
Cap server FPS to 120 or add a 220 Speed cap
AtlasOLimbo replied to Jay_Valentino's topic in Game Suggestions
I'm sure as hell not getting 120 on an RTX 3060 and a 5600X. -
Date and time (provide timezone): All time. Game Edition (Legacy/Enhanced/both): Both Character name: Orlando Callahan Does this issue appear again after a full game restart?: Yes. How many times did this issue appear for you?: Constant. Issue/bug you are reporting: Speaking in text full volume is possible while injured. Expected behavior: As far as I know, this is against the rules and not intended behavior of the script. This is consistently abused by both LEOs and crims as a workaround to the fact they cannot speak in VoIP at a normal volume. Expected behavior is that any text in 'regular chat' or shouting is declined, or is re-routed to low chat. Evidence (MUST provide either UNEDITED photo or video) , notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Type a 'normal message' while downed.

This. Having the traffic vest and standard Kevlar as something add-able alone would make life a lot easier.

At least for SD, our uniform menu has grown obscenely long. It'd be nice to have further dropdowns for uniforms to allow for variations, like how weapons have for different attachment setups. Can we also please return the slight accessories like different armors or different insignias like we had years ago? Pretty please.

Desperate need of staff taking in game reports.
AtlasOLimbo replied to Larentki's topic in Game Suggestions
As an LEO main, my reports do not get accepted instantly and often go to the forums. Especially due to conflict of interest. Please stop spreading misinformation. -
The REAL reason ECRP is in it's current state. (Opinion Piece)
AtlasOLimbo replied to Marksy's topic in Forum Suggestions
As someone who follows an IC policy/force continuum which should in theory prevent me from deathmatching currently but has experienced this checklist behavior in the past as a crim, have the changes to rules helped at all? Made things worse, better, same? I'm curious and I'm sure the senior administration watching this thread may be curious as well. -

I feel like this will easily de-rail the thread but I also don't want to leave this hanging. I think both sides are aware there is some issue with the K9 process as-is, especially as Bala stated above. What that issue is necessarily may not be agreed upon but there is room to improve. This is not to put the entire onus on the criminal in these scenarios, but you should understand whenever you are roaming with a firearm in your vehicle, especially as a 'person of interest' (gang affiliated, recent murder of gov., etc.) you should expect a K9 deployment to be a very real possibility, maybe even get that AltRP. (which I understand is not plausible daily.) That's my piece. -

I beg to differ on this. We have different K9s we use for different things. A gun K9 will not be able to smell drugs, a drug K9 won't be able to smell guns. The concept of detection K9s is pulled directly from real life where they are used to great effect and are not typically hindered by things like a bag or clothing. Firearm K9s in specific are trained to recognize gunpowder and chemicals used in the manufacturing/maintenance of guns. K9s can't be pulled out on anyone although I do agree stricter requirements must be enforced (and are fairly strict as written), and from SD's side are actively being worked on. Would it be nice to have a proper script, that ensures fair play on both sides and maybe offers false detections or a lack of detection once in a blue moon? Sure. But I can't expect anything of the sort anytime soon. -

I'm not sure how aware the general public is of this change, but the 4 highest members of SD (with the most decision making power, and final say on any decision in the faction) have stepped aside (or been removed in one case) to allow new leadership to take their place. I've seen actual change happen over the week or so they've been in place and had the opportunity to speak with them to vent similar frustrations to those here. Changes won't happen overnight, but as someone who's been a very vocal critique of the server and its leadership, I have hope. -

To try and get in early here before this dogpiles too hard. I've been a crim man previous and currently an LEO main and have seen these points happen more than sometimes during my tenure. Executive staff in SD are aware of these issues and while I think there's some exaggerations in here, the core points remain the same. Steps have been taken internally to rectify these issues already and I can only expect more to come from our new Executive Staff in SD. (I cannot comment for PD at all, nor is my statement a direct faction-wide statement on behalf of SD's executive, simply my perspective.) -
I think this is just a case of moderation possibly needing to be heavier handed in regards to /b use.

-1 We shouldn't be encouraging things that make MD have even less RP.

LEOs should be responding if you use 'both'. I think it's a genuine negligence of faction duties otherwise.

Move away from server-wide 'mega' events.
AtlasOLimbo replied to AtlasOLimbo's topic in Game Suggestions
This doesn't cover my concerns about time-zones and the events not necessarily needing to be server-wide. All of these events are scheduled during peak. I've experienced maybe one mini-event over the last 2 months in my time playing. As well, these events can't really be partook in by those actively on duty at a legal faction (in most cases). -
This is not to say that server-wide events are a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination, but, they are not the only avenue when creating an event. I believe that the Event Team should look into smaller events that can be stumbled upon too or involve a smaller group of people. These events can be performed more frequently, require less pre-planning and can be performed for people like myself who are not available for 80% of pre-scheduled server-wide events. These 'scenarios' could be anything from; The Governor's cat has been lost somewhere in city hall, GSB and MD have been called to try and locate the kitty. A member of the cartel needs help moving furniture (or possibly something illicit!) from Point A, to Point B. The group with the most furniture moved in X amount of time wins a prize. A self-driving car wreaks havoc on its surroundings, being a general nuisance to traffic and citizens. LEOs are tasked with halting the vehicle. In general, even if pre-planned, I believe smaller, more frequent events spread across more timeslots encourages longer play sessions and generally more activity to see what might pop up. These don't have to be daily, maybe even weekly. But just enough to where people know they're there. CC: @Timmaayy@Ranger

In your conversations, do you believe Osvaldon is aware of and appreciates the concerns raises by the community as key factors in the decline of the server? It really feels like these simply aren't recognized by the founders on many occasion, or players just feel generally unheard.

I still think it's not amazing the way we seem to be reaching the end, with little to no communication, false hopes and relayed messages. I think all anyone really wants is transparency.

Is there any progress being made internally towards any of the suggestions made here?
