  1. Businesses have very little script support especially when compared to legal factions, this results in very little business roleplay. - /roll where you can either set the amount of dice and their faces, e.g: 1d6 or an upper bound such as /roll 1000 and it pulls any number between. This in my opinion would add a lot of fun roleplay opportunities as 1d6 is rather limiting and is only a handful of lines of code. - An invoice system where a business gets paid rather then the player handling the transaction. - The ability for businesses to create custom items/foodstuffs, possibly as a reward for reaching a certain legal tier. (A 3D printer was seemingly fully finished, I do not know where this has gone/what state it is in.) There's a lot of very good suggestions that have been made over the last few years that have received near or zero attention from decision makers (management+) which I believe is a gripe most players have and why more suggestions don't get made. I hope this thread will remedy this. e.g:
  2. This is such an awful mindset to have on a roleplay server.
  3. It's not an issue that solely rests with law enforcement. There are mentality issues that plague every branch of the server and I hate that LEOs catch the most flack for it, sometimes deserved, sometimes undeserved. Crims tend to be the most vocal in this argument for a variety of reasons, but as someone who is currently playing both I promise you it is not as one-sided of an issue as you are making it out to be. A lot of mentalities/playstyles on this server are super toxic and have yet to be snuffed out to a significant enough degree in my opinion. LEOs are not perfect and there is bad apples, but being unable to self-reflect is just as awful and contributes to these echo chamber threads.
  4. Let's not derail the thread into "PD bad" please. PD has a roleplay feedback form, in which one was filed and I believed adequately responded to above situation regarding Hope Kant. This also is once again turning into people bringing up situations that have not been adequately reported to the associated factions. I personally play SD where we have, on multiple times, honored individuals agreements and agreed that we would not shoot.
  5. FM 2.0 seems to be a step in the right direction for the server, but that took years and years to be properly executed to any degree. I wish management and such would partake in these threads more often and would put some hope into the community that steps are being taken to resolve the issues brought up. A lot of the issues here have been brought up time, and time, and time again.
  6. I believe there to be a lot of missteps and poor interpretations of what's happening in Eclipse in this thread. I'll try and give my (somewhat) experienced opinion and hope it helps us bring the argument in closer. The Strength of LEOs/The "Ouroboros" effect Ouroboros means something along the lines of "an eternal cycle". LEOs are at the strength they are at, due to criminals, what they use and how they operate and, although not as many as you may think, to chase W's. Criminals operate the way they do and fire upon LEOs frequently, or what have you, because of how LEOs operate and once again, not as many of them as you think, but to chase W's. Why are police treating high speed units and air vehicles like they cost literally nothing? (Because they do cost nothing.) Why are motorcycle gangs using sports cars to evade police? It's something that has escalated to this point, and neither side seems willing to back down to a substantial degree. Just this week, 2/3rd's minimum of LEO's night shift has been killed multiple times. I'd like to see street gangs using actual street vehicles, but it's just not in the cards. It'd require a major intervention from management that I do not believe they are willing to engage in, for better or for worse. Unless something changes in the future, I do not believe we can expect the strength of criminals/LEOs and their portrayal to change. Personally, I'd enjoy something more grounded that involves less armor/heavies, less expensive vehicles, more roleplay and more sidearms. The complete lack of support, especially in recent years, for civilian RP I don't mean ICly, as both Weazel News and GOV do a lot to try and promote this but we are missing critical features in my opinion to make civillian RP worthwhile. The list of missing features is the following; An easy way to pay employees when not a faction. Business bank accounts/treasuries when not a faction that can be used to 'invoice' players rather than having customers pay directly to whatever employee. Businesses being able to make custom items (which seem to be fully coded, yet not implemented), & especially custom foodstuffs. An easy way to contact a business, especially when a specific individual is offline. (Arguably, the biz site solves this but I'd argue that's an extremely high bar for entry for the average player.) A way to tell if a business is open or closed reliably. A way to generate random numbers beyond 1-6. I feel this would add a lot more than people realize, and I don't see why it hasn't been added yet We do NOT need more LEO factions. We need to focus on enhancing what we have.
  7. -1 The rich on the server do not need another way to make money by quite literally doing nothing.
  8. This. Along with the fact that any other of the decent jobs (such as oil, or at least it was) are "pay-to-play" such as needing to invest in a large truck for transportation of goods, that kinda thing.
  9. Despite requiring near constant control from the player at all times to earn money, it's (as far as I know) one of the lowest/at the very least worst effort-to-pay ratios. Especially city bussing. You make approximately 6k/hour bussing (before tax). If this falls in line with other jobs please let me know but I feel as though it could use a 10-25% buff.
  10. Forum reports and OOC IAs can be used for NRP behavior.
  11. Fairly similar, but I'm still gonna explore an alternative solution here. I'm okay with blunts being more powerful, if that means you have to smoke the whole thing to get the "best effect". One puff does hardly anything, etc, etc.
  12. Blunts are just used as the equivalent of combat healing pots, and don't even have to complete a single 'puff' animation before they can /toss and obtain all the benefits for ~2s of having your hands occupied. I don't see how taking a painkiller is longer than smoking a blunt.
  13. It'd be nice to see this released IC as a way to encourage roleplay and plot lines!
  14. Not every interaction has to result in a fight or someone being insulted. You can perfectly stay out of a cell and interact and engage more without going into one!
  15. Just a general response, while I agree that enhancing DOC should be the way to approach this, it seems that DOC does not currently have any form of development priority and this is the 'simpler' solution.
  16. This is also just enforcing an already existing rule about being AFK in public. Being actively AFK in DOC is a rulebreak/gets you kicked when reported. This is quite literally just returning the feature to how it was prior to the recent change. As a CO that tries to create roleplay in the cellblock, it's rather difficult when all the inmates are standing there staring at walls, and then leaving the cellblock empty at what should be peak hours. It's a (three?) way street. I do agree that there's been not enough from the development side of things, but I don't think that excuses quite literally AFKing what is still 'active roleplay'. EDIT: I also work the night shift. (9 pm - 3 am EST) where claims are made about no one being around. I've very rarely seen ZERO COs, but frequently see zero inmates.
  17. Roleplay in DOC has completely tanked when people just stand there AFK to wait out already shortened sentences, especially with VIP. I think the lack of AFK kicking has just encouraged this behavior. Something should be implemented to negate this.
  18. I think both have their pros and cons. I'd personally prefer a hooking minigame but it should pay more to reward the skill check that comes with that.
  19. I think this is definitely worth expanding upon! Why stop here! I've had the idea of years to allow for varied baits/fishes. Better bait gets you better fishies, and species/weight of fish can vary. I don't expect all the effort into the world to go into this, but my dream system would have different species for different areas or even different times of the week like you go into. I remember their being an elusive tale of a "golden fish" that everyone talked about when the pier was SUPER active during COVID-era. I'd love for this to be a real thing! Even an 0.001% chance of getting a 10-20x value fish would give a lot of people a reason to keep fishing. Maybe it could be so rare and valuable that only a certain amount could be caught in 24 hours? Making it a global event that can be celebrated for someone to catch one! It's like gambling, but less risk! I think we can have a lot of fun with this suggestion and truly pump some lifeblood back into the server and social/civ RP with these suggestions. I agree with the sentiment that the shared JURO is a bit silly but I understand the motivation behind it. If Del Perro had a station added, I'd like to see it limited to basic, beach friendly equipment like boats, BMXes and caddies. I don't want it to be used as simply another spawnpoint for PD but rather fuel for roleplay in the surrounding area. And finally, regarding the SCUBA suit. I think it's perfectly possible for it to be balanced in such a way that prevents it from being used in PvP/crim constantly. But I also think the opportunities it presents for crims are cool in of itself. edit: +1 BRING BACK THE PIER!!!
  20. I feel like enabling/fixing AFK kicks doesn't exactly take the focus away from new content, it feels like something pretty minimal..
  21. Believe this would help player count be more accurate along with preventing troves of AFK people simply standing, unable to be interacted with, in areas like the DOC lobby.
  22. This is a duplicate/re-iteration of a suggestion that's been made many, many times. Should show your support on those threads instead!
  23. This could possibly be at the scrapyard NPC even. But the idea is pretty simple. The NPC would buy any vehicle at some 40-60 percent of its stock value. This would allow players to get rid of vehicles that no one wants or if they simply want to get rid of a vehicle fast for some quick cash. This would also "purge" / "sink" the difference from the stock value and the sold for price, along with the removal of the vehicle, actively deflating the economy by X amount which is something I think the server desperately needs.
