  1. Just seems like we are needlessly against those who are creative in their roleplay. The people that do this level of roleplay are typically more dedicated/willing to invest more time and effort in high-ranking positions in factions.
  2. Why are we so against heavy roleplay in this faction and others? I am not saying it needs to be prioritized by any means, but I've had really good roleplay on this server, admittedly not for a long time. But it seems that we've done everything in our power to ward away these players.

  4. This. DOC shouldn't be an "reward" to the point where you're actively seeking to be imprisoned for lengthy times (see: initial stamp buff) But. It should be fun and offer its own unique roleplay. Right now it simply feels like ajail. Which sucks. Even something as simple as the poker table was taken away with the gambling update and replaced with nothing. Inmates can make some of their own fun with /dice and what have you, but that can only last so long. You have to be staff or pay to use the TV in the common room. It kind of feels like these things have been discussed to death though and there's no intent to actually act upon this feedback.
  5. So the solution is reducing sentences to literally nothing?
  6. This is a nonstarter. Reducing jail time has been done multiple times in the server. When I was playing during peak COVID as a crim, I had double digit hour sentences on multiple occasion where there was NO offline reduction, as there is now, or conversion of stamps for any meaningful time reduction. I still had fun.
  7. Personally one of the reasons I play Eclipse over other servers is our lack of limit on activities. I think this kind of limit adds on an unnecessary level of bureaucracy and "checks" when responding to a situation and being immensely unnatural. Admittedly, I believe an over-reaction from police comes down to boredom at times. If LEO has twenty units who have seen maybe one pursuit in the last hour, and you rob a bank, is it really fair for half of them to just ignore the situation and not get the fun they seek when logging onto what is at the end of the day, a video game? Measures are taken at times from supervisors to reduce units or cut them from certain scenarios, especially when a routine traffic stop gets a large amount of units during these "slumps" in activity.
  8. Me when I lie. I don't think anyone should engage with him further when he's spent the whole thread trolling/contradicting himself tbh.
  9. This approach would make sense if 80% of or pursuits weren't of vehicles in the "sports or super" category. Sadly they are not. We do not have the numbers, especially late at night to perform blockades like you're talking about and have taken efforts to extend pursuits lately. I'm going to be frank, your approach is blatantly one-sided and I genuinely cannot tell if you're trolling or not.
  10. This. At least for SD's side we have very specific policies in place to try and prevent the "overuse" of equipment like high speeds or motorbikes. But should we just let you get away because you have an expensive car..?
  11. Getting rid of law enforcement pagers isn't the magical solution to issues. They're an essential part of how law enforcement operates on our server. LEOs are expected to be capable of responding to situations to some degree, maintaining peace & order 24/7/365 which may involve any number of people from the 10+ criminal factions, or unaffiliated criminals that may be online at once. Law enforcement's situation is unique, that's why their tools are unique. This isn't the magical solve you think it might be.
  12. +1 Problem has only gotten worse.
  13. As someone who's currently playing LEO and was a DOC main for a fairly long time, the state of DOC is simply disheartening. Although I play late night EST, (1-2 AM UTC onwards) I've had two-three arrests where DOC was present in the last 20+ arrests, even when the server was at 230 players one day, there was no DOC. I'll often walk into the lobby at DOC and find multiple players afk there, stumbling injured in place as they have ran down their hunger and thirst bars. This is a point that has been beaten to death until the very faction that is forced to deal with the fact that no party wants to engage with them in meaningful improvement or roleplay, whether that be prisoners or developers, is now at the very least a mere shell of what it once was. I'd love for @Chunder to pitch into this conversation or at the very least correct me if I'm wrong, but they've harped for so long internally, I see little reason they'd want to make any further efforts, especially externally. What happened with the QoL thread where we were promised real change? Things like the impound change are nice but definitely weren't at the top of many priority lists. We weren't even told what final decisions were made regarding features, and once again just left in the blind and waiting for certain updates with our fingers crossed.
  14. Had this happen this morning. Seems intentional but as stated above ^ does not take failure to pay a fine into account.
  15. +1. Way too much roleplay relies on rather high-ranking staff approval.
  16. The current CCTV script is absolutely awful. It lags, skips, often misses details like weapons or vehicles and is pretty much only used to grab visual descriptions of suspects. We have to rely on roleplayed CCTV to get any level of detail but do honor when cameras are broken (Properly roleplayed destruction of bodycam and dashcams for example with proper /fdo's.) If a camera is directly facing the area in which you are expected to provide roleplay, it should be fair game. This is a roleplay server.
  17. What would you need from staff that you don't already have? Ironically named, Underground hosted a couple fight clubs where the prizes were things like heavy weaponry or cash. We had a lot of fun doing it.
  18. -1 As someone who's been around since COVID days as both LEO and crim. This change would drastically reduce motivation on LEO's side and as stated above, LEOs would be even more vicious than they are now. This may sound good on paper, but would fall flat on its face in execution.
  19. You are so fucking welcome, SillyRabbit.
  20. - Lack of IC rulesets, certifications, etcetra. - Drugs. - Allowed to break the law. There you go!
  21. There needs to be more gas stations or enforcement of activity with gas stations. There's a 50/50 chance I go to a gas station with very little fuel in my motorbike's tank, only to see that it's empty and limp my way to the next one.
  22. This. This. This. Creating, running and interacting with a business is the equivalent of stuffing your face against a pile of sandpaper and barbed wire. There's a lot of needless obstacles and hurdles that one has to find their way swerving through. Even business visibility is an issue. I had the idea a while back for a Weazel app on the phone where while you'd initially purchase your ads from Weazel you can decide when to post them, when to toggle your blip, so on. You could buy X amount of hours or Y amount of ads but only decide to use it during the time your business is open. Otherwise you have to spend quite a bit of money to maintain a blip that leads to a closed business.
  23. I believe stashing is one of the few things right with the server, no? It gives investigative divisions and SWAT places to surveil and raid, it gives criminals quick access to a bank of weapons, but also runs the risk of losing quite literally all of it should someone mess up to the point where a warrant can be placed. If someone manages to keep their property a secret for their whole playtime of the server, I believe they deserve to keep it and its contents.
  24. Six exists. I don't believe I can go into detail but six does exist and does happen.
  25. NCZs did not stop these things from happening, they may have reduced it but an NCZ does not cut down to the root cause of these situations which thankfully this thread is trying to resolve. You can always short-term medicate symptoms of a cause but unless you deal with the issue at its source, you'll get nowhere and we'll be back here again in a year's time.
