  1. To my understanding, suicide RP is OK as long as its done naturally and has good reasoning behind it. Example of GOOD suicide RP: Someone lost their job, their only friend died and has fallen into deep depression. They decide hurt themselves by cutting their wrist with broken glass. Example of BAD suicide RP: Someone gets caught by the police or a rival criminal organization and decides to use their own life as leverage, wanting money or freedom in exchange for not jumping off a ledge to kill themselves when they have no history of suicidal tendencies or mental issues. I generally don't have any issue with suicide RP as long as its not done simply for personal gain or for NRP reasons. If its legit RP with good backstory, I don't feel it will be abused and therefore wouldn't need to be limited.
  2. So you have a lot of content in this post. Some of the things you have suggested here is actually already in place within the rules. I will touch on each of your points here: We don't want to force limits on players from participating in certain content or going on the map where they would like for various reasons. It would not be fair to players to place this limitation on them just to cater to smaller groups. The idea is that a smaller group should be trying to get on the good side of these larger factions...whether thats joining them, making an alliance with them or making some kind of deal with them to stay on their good side. Its part of the realistic politics of the criminal side of the server. As far as police response is concerned, police are always reactionary. If there are only 2-3 people in a situation, police like only send a couple of units in response. If there is a shootout between 30 different gang members, police will probably send every unit they have currently on duty. Police response and force is measured by each situation just as it would be IRL. Lastly, even if this was implemented, this would be very difficult to enforce from a server admin perspective... RP should be organic and flow as needed. There are backup rules in place for criminals already that you can review that cover some of this. If players come across a situation such as a raid or a lab fight naturally, then there shouldn't be a restriction on them to do as they like as long as its within the rules. If you get into a gunfight with others, then you need to be willing to accept the consequences of being killed for it. Criminals have no reason most often to be merciful as they just risk you snitching or coming back for revenge if you live. It eliminates the risk to finish you off. Normal police officers do not roll around with assault rifles and shotguns on normal traffic stops. There may be advanced/specialized units you will see such as SWAT officers that may have this gear, but thats within their job role to be heavily armed. As for helicopters, the LSPD and LSSD factions mimic Los Angeles Law enforcement. In LA, police regular have helicopter patrols around the city for various reasons. If someone is known to evade on most of their traffic stops, then police will likely react and prepare for that appropriately. Police ram or use force when they determine its necessary and based on reaction to the suspect they are chasing. If the suspect has used force or is driving incredibly recklessly, you should expect the police to response appropriately. Criminals should not be using sports vehicles to ram or ramming/blocking in risky manners that would put their own life at risk, as that would be considered NRP/FearRP and is already against the rules. There are already plenty of OOC rules and IC policies in place to ensure law enforcement will not raid a house unless they have proper reason and probable cause to do so. The point is not to cook on drug tables without watering them to let them explode on purpose. If you cook on a table inside a house and it explodes inside the house, all the police know is that something exploded inside and there is a potential fire and its their job to respond appropriately and assist anyone that may be injured inside. When its discovered that the source was an operational drug lab, then they respond as such. Many drug tables are not near populated areas, but some are. Up to you to determine that level of risk based on where you are cooking and how you do it. You have the choice. You can either grab cash and run, or try to take a hostage if its within the rules. You are not allowed to just grab anyone you want with no escalation as a hostage, but you do not require admin permission to take a hostage as long as its done within the rules. Hostages will already follow current FearRP rules and police will respond appropriately based on demands made and how the negotiations proceed. Some slurs are already allowed. Ethnic or LGBT+ slurs must be given OOC consent from all players in the area first, but if thats done, its allowed per the existing server rules. Already discussed this earlier with downing and finishing people. This is not realistic. If someone was shot, they would need hospitalization and would end of being there for potentially days or weeks, and even after being released, would still be recovering and likely in pain and wouldn't just go right back out and keep fighting like nothing happened. In addition, from a balancing perspective, this would just turn the server into a call of duty PVP fest with people just healing and going back out to fight over and over. This is already the case. If a bug occurs, submit a /report 2 in game and an admin can reset a situation for you if a bug/glitch changed the outcome of a situation. We want to encourage people to join factions and RP together, therefore it doesn't make sense to just give faction benefits to everyone. Stunt jumps are against the rules due to it being unrealistic as it would likely hurt/kill the driver and severely damage/total the vehicle in some instances. Its not there to limit your escapes from police. I can assure you that police vehicles are most often far more limited than civilian vehicles.
  3. If the script ICly gives you a way to locate someone, is it really metagaming? There are ways to hide from the police even if your name is on the warrants list. Last year when a government director was kidnapped for 3 days straight, the police spent countless hours searching for them in every place we could think and still didn't find the kidnappers. If they can hide from police, so can others. You just need to be smart about it. In reality, if someone had some serious warrants out for their arrest, there would be traffic cameras, security feeds, new alerts, etc looking out for this person. It wouldn't take long to know if someone had shown there face in town again after being gone awhile. I feel the current warrants list on the MDC is a good compromise to that. Police simply know that someone with arrest warrants is in town, but thats all they know. The rest is up to the police and the suspect to determine if they get caught. All that being said, the system is fine as it is, so -1.
  4. I get the feeling this post was made as a knee jerk reaction to one rhetorical situation where you were not happy with the outcome. SUV = Sport Utility Vehicle. They are made for off-roading and rougher conditions. I sometimes understand the complaints about the tools PD has available...but the Scout of all thing? Not sure about that one chief.
  5. I do not believe the pros of implementing this will outweigh the cons with the issues caused for player reports.
  6. This is one potential option, but the better option would be to fix the bugged coroner job and to encourage people to actually do the job. Would help so many players and server staff members not having to deal with /reports for dead bodies.
  7. It has been verified that there is a random low chance for the alarm to trigger, even if everything is done successfully. Think of this as the homeowner waking up on their own to use the toilet for example, and they hear people in the house when they wake up. The loot/cabinet issue is something that could hopefully be fixed. Can't speak to the crashing issue. Are you sure you didn't take too long with the robbery and it timed out coincidently?
  8. Date and time (provide timezone): 03/NOV/2023 - 7:30PM EST Character name: Bill Breacher Issue/bug you are reporting: Using the /pet command just spawns a bugged color changing rat instead of the proper pet. Expected behavior: Using /pet will spawn the associated pet. (In this case, my /pet 1 should be a Husky dog, but it pulls out a rat) Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Try using the /pet command and it will pull out a rat instead. Video evidence of bug: Vehicle license plate number*: N/A
  9. This is a bug report and should be posted in the bug report section.
  10. Unfortunately your suggestion cannot be used. It has been confirmed by the developers that trailers cause too much desync to properly work on the server and were therefore removed quite some time ago.
  11. -1 Blanket unbans are not a good idea. People get banned for good reason and this would cause nothing but problems. Also, you make it sound easy to just "Ban them again" during their supposed probationary period. Who has to monitor all these people during their probationary period? Who has to ban them when they likely break the rules again? You have to remember that there are limited mods/admins in the server and they all work as volunteers with their free time. This would be too large a burden on server staff to do something like this...in addition to the inevitable lower quality RP the server would face from bringing back rule breakers all at once.
  12. +1 to the concept of a change. To add on, I suggest removing the minigame and replacing it with a timer instead. Really the minigame was just added to nerf the speed at which you could fill the bottles. If you just add a timer, it does the same thing without the unrealistic hassle of filling the bottles. It doesn't take "skill" to fill up a bottle, so why have a minigame to test you doing it. Then just scale the time it takes with the number of bottles you have to a cap (maybe 5 bottles at once for example) so someone cannot fill up 200 bottles then just afk while they wait for the timer.
  13. -1 The speed cameras were partially implemented for OOC reasons to encourage people to slow down and discourage unrealistic driving everywhere you go. Speed cameras are also a realistic thing, and to the points made above, could not just be outrun. If you want to not get tickets, either slow down at the cameras or rethink your driving routes.
  14. +1 Same goes for general store items like lockpicks or water bottles. Should be able to just select the number you want to buy and then click buy to purchase in bulk.
  15. Just because you give LEOs the same boat doesn't mean its an even playing field. LEOs have very limited boat spawn locations and it could take a very long time to even get the boat over to the location where a criminal is trying to evade in said boat. It would just become another meta evading tool that would provide little to no positive RP interactions.
  16. Make it more like store robberies imo. An "alarm" or 911 call can go out right as someone finishes up smashing into it rather than right when they start. Because many of them are out in the open somewhere, they still run the risk of a random cop or civilian seeing them actively smashing it.
  17. Yeah, I realized that and corrected my statement after.
  18. There is a lot of slander being thrown out that "PD is the worst and ruining the server" with rhetorical situations with 0 context or understanding from both sides. If you are going to make claims of poor RP, it doesn't do any good but create a toxic environment to target certain individuals or just generically slander a whole faction. Report the situations to the correct people and provide actual evidence and context rather than just say "PD bad." Example: I don't know what happened with the hostage situation explained above, but someone can come in claiming PD just rushed in and shot someone ruining the scenario, but maybe the context is that the hostage taker was ICly harming/killing the hostage. PD is ALWAYS reactionary. They never act on a situation unless a criminal does some action first to require that response. SWAT will not just move in on a hostage situation and just shoot someone for no reason...there will be context and reasoning behind that decision.
  19. Let's try to keep the comments constructive rather than just putting a -1 or something toxic. If you disagree with the suggestion, then state why so all sides can be considered.
  20. Apologies, I misread the OP. On that note then, I agree that the time limits may restrict some RP opportunity, but my points regarding IC decisions stands. You can't commit felonies and expect to have little to no consequence. Times have already been improved as it is. And this is still an IC suggestion.
  21. I believe I have seen one example of this already being done. Someone wanted to run their own towing business, so to allow for this to work with the script, they were put in the LSC faction and given their own admin spawned tow truck. +1 to the suggestion. I think this would help provide more diversity and opportunity for player run businesses in an easier manner with proper script support and allow for more mechanic availability for everyone.
  22. I don't think the suggestion is to change the rules around engagement/DM regarding someone you know is calling the cops on you. The suggestion is to allow for /low to be used with a 911 call (or calls in general) so that someone can feel they can more safely and realistically call the cops without having the run to the city bank if they are Eclipse Towers just to not be heard on the phone. +1 to the suggestion
