How to make Law Enforcement Vehicles Fair and Balanced
Requiem replied to Demonmit1's topic in Implemented Suggestions
You can assume that if you like, but I am telling you from statistics and experiencing the pursuit of these vehicles on a daily basis, that PD most often chases these meta vehicles. I have been in PD for over 3.5 years, so I have enough experience and data to back it up. As to your last point regarding PD having an equal or better solution, I would be happy to set up an experiment where we give you a PD scout or Buffalo and have you chase a paragon or issi sport and see how you fair against it if you believe the other vehicles are equal or better. I'm not sure you read my explanation or understood it. If someone evades in a niobe for example, no vehicle PD has can go 240 and keep up with it. The best option available is the PD jugular and helicopter combination. If the jugular is taken out of commission due to popped tired or whatever else for even 2 minutes, it is near guaranteed that the pursuit is lost if the criminal driver has any kind of skill and knows how to lose the helicopter, which most that evade do since they have been server long enough to understand those strategies. I am mentioning these points as I believe that no change or "balancing" is required, and your suggestion would be an unhealthy change to the server causing frustration and a meta shift for criminals that would allow them to easily win nearly all of their chases if they are evading in a meta vehicle. I agree with your sentiment that it would be nice to see more variety in the server of vehicles used, including from law enforcement, but thats not the server environment we are in. Law enforcement factions are a reactionary force. If criminals only drive meta sports vehicles consistently, law enforcement will respond by only driving the vehicles that have a chance of keeping up with them. -
Locking no longer cancelling getting in vehicles
Requiem replied to Xylum's topic in Game Suggestions
I don't personally see this as a positive, so -1 from me. I think this would just create frustration and troll behavior rather than add anything positive. -
The idea is not to use it on NPC cars, its just an alternative "repair" item that would allow you to start up your own car to drive it to the mechanic shop. If necessary, could make it so it only works on your own cars and not a friend's vehicle, similar to existing mechanic limitations today.
-
Perhaps a better way to do it would be an item that gets the engine started, but does not add any vehicle durability/health back. This way, if the vehicles engine is shut off, whether its due to damaging it further or gets manually turned off by the player, it won't start back up without the use of this item. Perhaps if the vehicle is 0 health, it could raise it slightly just to get the engine to turn on as long as the car isn't on fire. This would serve the intended purpose and force the player to still interact with the mechanic factions. Also, I would suggest this item only be usable if you have keys to the car, so players cannot abuse it to take peoples stalled cars on the side of the road to go chop them.

What benefit would the suggested change add vs the downsides it could bring? I don't see many positives of this suggestion aside from allowing more flexibility with passengers with the VIP autolock feature. -
How to make Law Enforcement Vehicles Fair and Balanced
Requiem replied to Demonmit1's topic in Implemented Suggestions
I think you are painting a false narrative here. If you part of 90% of criminals that Law enforcement chases on a daily basis driving a drag, niobe, issi sport, paragon or jugular, if the criminal finds a way to disable the LEO high speed vehicle (PD Jugular for instance) normally the only vehicle left that will have any chance of keeping up at that point to maintain visual is going to be the helicopter, and any experienced or skilled criminal driver will be able to lose that in less than 60 seconds (and thats being generous). If you disabled the LEO high speed over by El Burro (Garbage area) for example, it would take a minimum of 1.5 to 2 minutes for them to make the round trip to a precinct to swap it out for a new one and get back to the same area, and if you are smart about it as the criminal, you can maneuver in a way where its difficult to get the LEO jugular back to the front of the pursuit line behind you again, and by that time, you will have made the heli and other units lose visual of you and have gotten away. You talk about balance, but its a double edge sword in most instances. Yes you will have pursuits of scrap cars or mid tier vehicles at times, but most often, criminals are driving the high end meta sports cars with speaker mods that allow them to go a constant 240 where little to no PD vehicles can actually keep up. If this suggested change were to be implemented, you would simply be creating a new meta for criminals to just take out the tires of the high speed and giving the evading criminal and instant win as there would be no counter on LEOs side. This side effect would obviously be unhealthy for the server and would demotivate law enforcement from wanting to participate in most pursuits if it involved any standard meta crim vehicle. I would suggest looking at the actual success vs failure rates for law enforcement pursuits before pushing for balance changes rather than wanting to act on situational circumstances or just your own experiences. -
Vehicle License Plate Visibility and Inspection Mechanism
Requiem replied to Lukey's topic in Game Suggestions
This seems like more of a suggestion than a bug. As such I will be moving this over to the suggestions area. -
This is not a bug. This is a technical issue with your PC and game files. Please submit a support ticket on discord to get assistance with fixing this if you are still having problems.
-
Also, can you clarify what the bug is? In your pictures, the hunger and thirst icons appear to be fine.
-
Please update your bug report to use the proper format: Date and time (provide timezone): Character name: Does this issue appear again after a full game restart?: How many times did this issue appear for you?: Issue/bug you are reporting: Expected behavior: Evidence (MUST provide either UNEDITED photo or video) , notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Vehicle license plate number*:

How to make Law Enforcement Vehicles Fair and Balanced
Requiem replied to Demonmit1's topic in Implemented Suggestions
I don't personally feel any "nerfs" or changes are needed. There are a larger portion of pursuits LEOs lose the suspect in than most people think, especially when it comes to the higher tier meta vehicles such as the Niobe or Drag. On top of that, there are little to no proper investigative tools to follow up on these pursuits afterwards, as there is very little proof law enforcement can find to guarantee that the person that evaded previously is the same person driving that vehicle now. And it only gets more difficult now that people can remove license plates for even less of a chance of tracking them down again. If you look through the responses on this thread, I don't see any of the regular criminal players that evade on a regular basis and at times easily win pursuits responding to this thread in support of nerfing Law Enforcement vehicles. In fact, most criminals that are decent at driving actually like the challenge of the better Law Enforcement drivers chasing them and trying to lose them, so much so that I see people regularly baiting a pursuit from PD/SD, even knowing they probably have a high speed at the ready. The above being said, I don't necessarily see anything wrong with trying to push for a change to hold law enforcement a bit more accountable for the damage they cause to their vehicles and some of the city property such as light poles and such, but some of that is inevitable to have when I can count on one hand the list of high tier vehicles 90% of the criminal players drive when they know they will get into a chase. I do not agree though that it makes any sense to try and disable Law Enforcements only tool (the jugular) to combat some of the crazy meta vehicles, such as the Niobe or GTO. -
Interactive Bag/Briefcase/Crate in Inventory
Requiem replied to Vitaly Gorbachev's topic in Game Suggestions
This has been suggested before, but the issue with being able to search a bag from your invent without dropping it would be people could just hide heavy weapons in the bag and just pull them out with little delay. This would be harmful to both crim and LEO roleplay. -
Be the change you want to see. Get more people to go the casino with you. Same way as when people used to advertise poker games happening at tequilala

Put the old facepalm animation into the anim list
Requiem replied to Ms.Somebody 's topic in Game Suggestions
I agree. I use facepalm on a daily basis as a law enforcement officer hearing some of the terrible excuses people come up with as to why they commit crimes. -
I can understand where you are coming from, but I believe this could be solved by simply finding some self discipline. I don't think its beneficial to spend dev time on personal problems such as this. Perhaps you can even use it as an IC opportunity for RP by visiting the medical department and scheduling some therapy sessions regarding gambling addiction.

Just modify the taser to apply a debuff to the player's stamina/speed so it slows them down after being tased so a tackle can properly be used afterwards. This way, everyone wins. It allows the criminal the chance to still resist or run if they want and it allows cops other options to capture them rather than only the taser. The primary issue currently is that everyone runs the same speed (as long as they aren't injured), so tackling isn't viable. The taser is the only real option to catch someone. Another alternative option would be to add the beanbag shotgun that @Bala made. Then it would be an alternative to the taser as well that would knock someone down from a distance.

ECRP logo switches between locations all the time.

Doesn't bother me that much personally, but it would be nice just to keep it static in the bottom right hand corner. -
Make radio frequency UI toggleable in CTRL+U
Requiem replied to alexalex303's topic in Game Suggestions
It would be a good QoL addition to have a toggle for it, but I don't think its that big an issue right now. The only way it gets metagamed is if someone shares their screen, whether through streaming or a POV clip, and in those instances, an overlay can just be used to block it off. -
I think the better way of going about this is to push for the suggestion of reworking the UI. I posted this on other suggestions already, but if the UI could be eliminated, this wouldn't be an issue any more. Here is my suggestion for how to do that: Rather than the UI and the big skull icon marking the robbery, the contract dealer only provides an address, and the player needs to do /setgps [robbery address] to find it, or just find it manually themselves. Add a new command /checkdoor to initiate the robbery or for others to check for signs of forced entry, or just checking if the door is unlocked (this will help in situations aside from just house robberies). To prevent other crims from going around Vinewood hills and spamming this command at every door, there could be a random chance of law enforcement getting an automated call if the command is used on a house that is not currently marked for robbery saying something such as, "The homeowner believes someone is trespassing on their property, trying to break into their front door!" Ctrl+x can be used to lockpick the front door, just like with vehicles and added to the new interaction menu that was changed for the license plate removal update. Change the Law Cleanup UI to a command such as /cleanuphouse for police to use to get rid of the robbery contract. This command would of course be restricted to on-duty law enforcement officers. Could also add this to the Ctrl+x menu as an alternative option. Until any changes are implemented, the topic of the rules surrounding using the UI to rob someone else doing a house robbery has been brought up within the staff team several times over the past few months, each time with the consensus being that using the UI to know that someone is robbing the house is not metagaming, with the argument being that there would be signs of a break in that had occurred.

Echoing the comments above. It would be redundant to have to do both as the mini game already exists. I have seen a lot of people break free from the cuffing whenever they have tried. Also, take into account that drugs can help these minigames to allow you to more easily breakout of cuffs as well.

This has been implemented.
