+1 There should be some reward for using your own truck.

I think there is another open suggestion for this as well. Nevertheless +1

I would have to look at the report for myself, but I would suspect the ruling was either inconsistent as you said, or more likely that the demands were mentioned for escalation purposes. Server staff have consistently said that demands to not equal DM rights on their own, necessary escalation is needed. Perhaps the demands that were being referred to in this instant were meant to be part of that escalation. Its really a case by case thing and not all situations are going to be the same. The background and lead up to any particular situation needs to be analyzed and understood to properly understand if escalation was present. Its all for the sake of good RP. No one wants a deathmatch/pvp server where everyone just shoots on sight.

I'm sorry but this is cap. You are asking police to not do their job and to ignore crims and let them do crime for the sake of their fun and for the server. This is an RP server. You are legit asking cops to ignore faction duties and break NRP rules. This is already a PD internal policy as it is. Only one jug gets deployed per pursuit. Only time you MIGHT see more than one, is if SD and PD are in the same pursuit and both have one. Even then, normally one department will put one away if thats the case. The drafter is allowed to be out, but its booty. The normal cruisers easily outperform it.

Agreed with ArcAngel. No need to put futher limitations or rules in place. Just keep it as is and if someone if unhappy about something someone said or is saying, then kindly ask OOC/PM for them to not say it.

Did they at least give a good reason why script support was denied? Kind of unfair to put that much effort in to prove yourself as a group and put in 6 months of effort to show that just to get told no, when the script support already exists for other factions.

License Plates and Stolen NPCS Vehicles Fix.
Requiem replied to Monroe_SB's topic in Implemented Suggestions
I agree something should be done to make it less obvious that a vehicle is being stolen or has been stolen. Its too easy to detect right now. Something should be put in place for a limited time to give a small window for someone stealing the car to get it to a safer location. -
+1 Add to the immersion and make it more realistic. As noted above, there are visual indicators that show when a vehicle is low on durability. The physical number being there makes no logical sense. I would rather have a gauge indicator as OP suggested or a check engine light.

-1 I like the theory of being able to investigate murders or find out who was killed in a particular situation, but due to the same reasons as Hector shared above, I have to disagree with this execution in the manner of dog tags like this.

Overall, the patch was likely implemented the way it was to try out the spills, but not have any negative effects for a few days to try it out. I am sure that if staff/dev's find that it was not a good change, they can and maybe will revert it. No need to lose your mind about something that hasn't even had an impact yet.

It would be nice to see more people not camped inside their house solo... Secondly, if someone chooses to shoot in/near a city, its realistic that cops would respond. IC actions (shooting) have IC consequences. And this isn't even always the case. Just two days ago, PD responded to a shootout situation at the garbage area lab and by the time anyone even got there from PD, all the surviving crims were already gone and all the bodies looted for anything valuable. I think you overestimate response times from PD (although response times may vary). This comment is not true. Cops do not camp labs. There are OOC faction rules that do not allow PD to camp static labs, and I have never seen anyone in legal factions camp labs. If they do, feel free to OOC IA report them to faction management as they shouldn't be doing this. The silencer thing will be resolved with the gun update, they didn't permanently go away. Also, see comment above...response times of LEOs will vary. Why does this have to turn into cop vs crim? Just keep on a productive discussion about the drug tables. Its a really terrible attitude to want to ruin other peoples experiences just because you are unhappy. Be part of the positive change, not the negative.

Small police depts do not have normal air patrols, but departments in large cities such as LAPD (the dept LSPD RPs) have regular helicopter patrols. If you research online a bit, you will see members of LAPD saying they have heli's not only supporting operations, but flying around for regular surveillance on a normal basis as well.

As a legal faction member, I can say I consistently check the forum reports everyday to keep up on server staff rulings on situations, both for situations that may have involved my faction members, and to educate myself. That being said, I don't know why this suggestion had any good reason to turn into an OOC toxic PD vs crim thread once again. I for one completely agree with the OP and I think reporting should be cut down and only used when necessary. It's really obnoxious when people take an L and immediately go to the forums for the W to make up for it. Reporting should be used as a last resort for sure. To the people making the comments here about cops making reports, I will reiterate and say everyone should minimize reporting as much as possible, however, as a member of PD, if I see someone combat log to avoid arrest, or someone break fearRP when we have weapons pointed at them and they ignore it "cuz they know they won't be shot by cops", if we try to PM them (if possible even) and get no response or just arguement, then /report 4 in game, and get no staff response, what is the expectation here? Just ignore the blatant rule breaks that ruin not only the experience of those involved in the situation, but likely many others after due to a precedent being set? Just because someone in a legal faction isn't losing material goods in game, doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to combat blatant rule breaks. As I said though, if someone in a legal faction takes an L ( e.g. gets killed in a shootout) doesn't mean they should go right to the forums. I can say personally, I have been involved in shootouts and have died more than a couple of times as a result, and never once reported it. IC actions should have IC consequences. If someone gets themselves in a position and get out gunned or out skilled, the L is deserved. Same goes for illegal factions also. How about everyone gets treated the same? No need for the crim vs PD debates in a suggestion such as this.

A Personal Review: Freelance Jobs of Eclipse Roleplay
Requiem replied to Commander783's topic in Discussions
Thanks for the feedback Osborn. What I think would be great is seeing the jobs working together! For example, the roadworker job has a spawned incident where there is a plane crash and the pilot and some passenger dies, so the coroners get a notification for the same incident to come cleanup the deceased while the road workers place blockades and FD puts out the fires. Alternatively, the people that supply wood at the lumbermill could generate trucking jobs to have truckers pick up lumber and take it to the furniture store. Or the meat or fishing market goods have their products taken to restaurants/burgershot for the food supply. -
They are not a monopoly by choice. There is no competitors. That is not their fault. You are stating there is an issue, but what myself and alex are saying is the solution can be implemented without the extra support you are asking for. No one said it was gonna be easy. It WILL be difficult for sure, but difficult doesn't mean impossible.
-
Yes, but this is the same case in real life. In any free market economy, there will be a company with the monopoly or majority market share, and if you start up a competing business, of course almost everyone will continue to go the big players in the market. This is the fundamentals of business and marketing. I don't think the lack of script support is everything here. If someone has a good enough idea or execution on their business and strategy, people will naturally start migrating to it. But yes, it will be a struggle to begin with and it will require hard work...but again, this is no different than real life marketing.
-
+1 to the idea of competition in the market, -1 to players making their own ads. Competition is good and creates a healthy economy, but there are limitations to how this can be achieved in this server sadly. If someone wanted to, they could make their own rideshare business without script support currently (although it may be somewhat difficult in some aspects). As for the ads, this would be terrible honestly. You would never be able to read the chat box because it would constantly be spammed with ads everywhere and people would troll and grief with it, writing troll things in ads just to "announce it" to the server. And if it was all moderated by server staff, it would simply take up too much time for them and couldn't realistically be done.

Increase Exterior Item Slots from 30 to 40 (possibly higher)
Requiem replied to KonaKealoha's topic in Game Suggestions
10 objects alone might not create lag, but if everyone in a concentrated area all added an extra 10 objects, it could add up quickly creating lag. Also, there ARE lag issues in this server in some areas for certain people, especially around the MLOs. -
-1 This will make bad problems worse as stated above by others.

Being frozen while cuffed when released from MD
Requiem replied to Curtins's topic in Game Suggestions
-1 Don't need to create more non-rp scenarios of someone that just gets released from the hospital and decides to run again for no reason. You would realistically be escorted out of a hospital by officers IRL and wouldn't have a chance to run. -

+1 This would be really nice.

I will weigh in as someone in PD with 150+ hours as a heli pilot. I can personally say when I fly, I may see someone speeding, but I never use speed alone as a reason to give someone something like reckless operation. I always ensure I see them breaking multiple traffic laws such as speeding + driving in the incorrect lane + illegal u-turns, etc. At that point, I ask for a unit to come and assist and pull the person over. To NOT do so as an officer witnessing a someone endangering the public with the incredibly reckless driving would be NRP from my standpoint. I don't think its fair to ask someone else to avoid certain RP or let people do what they want simply for "fun" or because of game balance, especially when it promotes poor RP from one side. If you are going to drive unlawfully/recklessly through what should be considered a heavily populated city, you should be well prepared for the consequences. Regardless of whether a heli sees you driving like a maniac or you stumble across a ground patrol unit seeing the same behavior, shouldn't have any difference in the outcome. Overall TL;DR -1 to the suggestion. It would be NRP/unrealistic for a LEO to not act on seeing someone driving recklessly. There are already IC factors to consider for issues citations/charges. If it wouldn't stick in court, the charge shouldn't be placed. If an officer is placing citations they shouldn't, they can be IC IA reported for misconduct.
