  1. +1 Yes it's a punishment, but for the character and not the player.
  2. This whole topic is about IC issues and how to improve them. And yes, the reason is usually profiling or wanting a win.
  3. Biggest issue I have is being forcibly searched and arrested just for being in the vicinity of a crime eventhough I would not be part of it. No investigation, no questioning, no rights, just auto guilty by proxy, arrested, searched and thrown in MR for an unlicensed forearm. Being pulled over for a 10-66 when I've done NOTHING aside from maybe speed a little, ask why I'm being pulled over and subsequently arrested and the response? Verbatim "investigative reasons" which lo and behold, no investigation happened. They search me, my friend and the car for no valid reason aside from being in a gang which should be CONFIRMED with evidence instead of assuming. Cops act as judge and jury and while I understand there is neither to work with in the game, they still need to act like officers with probable cause, foolproof evidence and fairness instead of focusing on always 'getting a win'. I didn't understand why criminals always complained about corrupt cops and thought they were just whining because they lost. Now, after seeing both sides I really so understand why criminals feel that way and it's just sad.
  4. Everyone here pretty much summed it up. As exPD, I would always patrol high risk areas such as clothing stores, the foundry etc. No one just drives around aimlessly. As a Rook, I can confirm like the other gangs mentioned, we never target civilian workers at all unless in a crime zone (chop shop, labs etc) and leave most randoms alone unless provoked. I understand your frustration, but RPly making some connections with a few gang members or PD always helps. You don't have to turn to crime, just know some people who can do it for you if you require some revenge
  5. Also, 'looting' other players in general using that terminology just screams NonRP.
  6. +1 Mostly because I've seen people's infractions from 6-12 months ago used against them in punishments. I feel that using that information against someone who made a mistake, maybe the same one was 9 months ago isn't fair. Therefore, having a record voided after a period of time based on the amount of gameplay to me, is a good idea.
  7. So only even letters center? I got unlucky with my choices
  8. Is this why some custom plates are off center? Both of mine are moved to the left with a space on the end whereas a lot of people's (long and short plates) are perfectly centered. It super bugs me
  9. Or don't leave your car at the bank without paying the parking fee? The bank may seem like ECRP HQ which is why they tow vehicles that are there for a long time to stop players congregating and congesting the area with vrhicles. Don't want it towed, park it in the parking lot. Poor RP is thinking you should get a car out of impound for free after parking it illegally (not paying parking) outside of a busy public building.

    Death RP

But then you'd die and spawn back at Pillbox anyway, also not realistic. There is Death RP but it is granted as a reward for exceptional RP during the entire scenario. Just 'dying' means you get out of a prison sentence hence why Death RP is a reward.
  11. When you can earn 50k a day mining/hunting, $125 for water and $325 for food isn't that bad. If you work for a legal faction you earn upwards of 5k an hour. I get some stores are overpriced but they're convenient if you don't want to travel.
  12. -1 Shooting will never be realistic while we have crosshairs. Adding in 1 shot mechanics would just invite unfair desync with people being unrealistically accurate.
  13. -1 Heavy pistols are scriptly hidden but with the handicap of not being as powerful as the .50 The .50 is basically a Desert Eagle which is impossible to conceal even IRL due to its size but is more powerful. One does not simply hide a DE in a jacket or under a shirt. It's already been stated by admins that if you can see it, you can see it. I don't take mine with me when I go to the bank or PD when I'm on my crim because they all know I don't have a license. If I get robbed, they're going to find the gun whether I RP concealing it or not. You can't RP dropping it somewhere without actually dropping it either so if it's on you it's on you. Just gotta play it smart. There's no need to carry a weapon or valuables on you 24/7.
  14. +1 Should be able to buy painkillers like Methadone from MD, although I don't think it should add an addiction. Or at least be able to buy bandages or something of the like from stores to be used to heal instead of going to annoy medics every time we clap ourselves falling off of our bikes. As a retired medic, having people call me down like a taxi while I'm code3 to a call just to ask for a painkiller was very annoying. It doesn't give the best RP experience, especially with we TRY to RP looking at injuries as people usually just want /me gives painkiller /do do they take? /do yes /heal ID and be on their way.

    Tattoo Removal

I want to say +1 for convenience but I also want to say - 1 for rEAlisM, mostly due to being a tattoo artist myself lol Lasering off an entire sleeve isn't even possible and most of the time, Lasering only removes enough to have a decent coverup. Which is why changing tattoos makes more sense to me. So ill be an ass and say - 1. People want realism when it suits them, tattoos are for life.
  16. -1 Official is a privilege earned, not bought.
  17. +1 You can buy a pack of 50 bobby pins from a dollar/pound store in a little box that weighs less than a pack of cigarettes.
  18. I thought this was applied to the server now? However, I disagree that weapons would be dropped just by being injured if the weapon is not drawn. Because I'm a pleb, I clapped myself crashing into a wall on my bike and got injured. My weapons were then on full display for all to see and passersby noticed. Luckily, I managed to tell them that I'm an ally of theirs and they gave me my stuff back. If I was in an active scenario, gun drawn and I was downed, fair enough but not having it in my hand and having ALL weapons bring dropped? They took my knife too man, I'm not exactly going to be wielding both while driving a bike.
  19. You can buy a cheap jacket for 500 from the older selections to choose the undershirt. Then just get the top you wanted to wear with it from the newer selection. It's an extra expense but at least it's something for now.
  20. - 1 There are speed cameras where there needs to be cameras. People are using the parking lot to park, having a speed camera there makes no sense. Most, if not all speed cameras are around NCZ's and the parking lot is not one of them. As a cop myself, it's our job to stop and ticket people ourselves, not let speed cameras do the job for us. I get 'realism' but we're not trying to be completely real in this game are we? People still want to have fun no matter what faction or side of the law they're playing on.
  21. +1 As a cop and a crim, seeing both sides of the coin I find it quite difficult to give people the charges knowing how much time and money it actually takes away. At first I was very "don't do the crime if you can't do the time" but after being on the receiving end I take it back. Of course there should be punishments, but the punishments are for RP reasons and are still part of the players experiences. Five hours and 40k in fines is a serious demotovator to actually play, especially when there is 0 to none prison rp. I hide in the washroom when in DOC to avoid random fistfights and dudes threatening rape. It's tiresome and boring. Criminals bring a lot of RP, we're not all trigger happy monkeys but we go down fighting knowing we won't get questioned by investigators, we won't be told our charges and our side of the story won't be listened to. I was pulled over for a 10-66 by SD when neither the driver nor me were wanted, the car was not wanted, it was just black. We weren't even speeding and pulled over immediately. We weren't asked to identify ourselves, we were just forced out of the vehicle, searched for no reason and thrown in DOC. I asked why we were pulled over, I was told "investigative purposes"... No investigation happened. When I'm on my cop I try my best to talk those I'm arresting to give them something else to work with. It's sad to see so many people just resign themselves to their fate to the point where they don't want to interact with you anymore because, what's the point? And I don't blame them.
  22. As a gang member, other gangs calling cops is just pathetic (how my char sees it). As an officer, I find it hilarious. If it's used as a last resort to screw over a gang you just got clapped by, go for it. If you're calling cops out of OOC spite, that's just weak.
  23. Aaah boys! I'm so happy to be part of this faction, I've wanted to for a long time and I'm so happy to see this happen!
