This would be the definition of mass recruiting to meet the threshold and quantity vs quality

+1 You see swat chasing a suspect like fucking road runner while wearing heavy armor and heavy weapons while the one being chased has shorts and T-shirt. why armor hindering your movement is not already a feature is beyond me.
-
+1, an interesting mechanic to add could be that the empty can weighs lets say... 2-5volume and then you can decide how much you want to fill it up according to what you need and if you plan on carrying other things. I.e: instead of carrying 25% refuel you would get 15-20 because you plan on carrying other things such as food, bobby pins, weapons, etc.
-
+1 PD have more armor at no cost, and they can RP 'getting a new one' from their cruiser refilling a the armor as needed. Criminals don't have this luxury. With the amount of ways armor can be lost the 40k price is in no way justifiable. Not to mention the criminal armor is nowhere near as much as PD. It would be a different story if PD had an economy behind it, cost taken for each item spawned, vests, weapons, etc. But there are unlimited amounts of them.

Yes, but it gives a bigger margin of error, if the speed limit is 70, and it is implemented that you get ticketed at 101kph not 80/81kph (whatever it is now) it is entirely the fault of the driver as they have a more than adequate window to fix their cruise control if its bugged, or tap W so that they dont go over. At that point the players should have no room to complain that the speed cameras are too sensitive as they SHOULD be driving around 75-90ish casual speeding or whatever you want to call it. If they go pass that it is entirely on them.
-
Biggest +1 possible to this, cruise control is very buggy and tapping W or holding it a little too long gets you a ticket. 30KPH tolerance so you get fined at 101+ seems very reasonable and a great change to the current system. My only issue is, RPly with what you have presented is the cameras would obviously not know the driver of a vehicle if they are wearing a mask. So it wouldnt know if the driver has a previous criminal history.
-
No, but i also wouldn't: run red lights Make and sell drugs Murder,Rob,torture go 200kph in the city take hostages sell weapons steal and chop vehicles etc.etc.etc. It is a mechanic that is very useful for situations i mentioned in the previous post. Just because i wouldn't do it IRL because there are more resources available IRL than ingame and it would fuck up my tires doesn't make it a valid argument as to why it shouldn't be in the server. This is an RP server, and by choosing what you would and wouldn't do IRL as an argument as to why it shouldn't be in the server you are limiting another persons ability to RP or do certain things they would want to do, especially something that is as benign as a burnout/doughnut to reposition your car. This wasn't a massive widespread issue of people abusing the rotation of your cars to get people in the ragdoll animation or whatever. This is just something that was removed to fix a previous bug. However it now limits options on how to handle a situation which could before be answered by 'oh, let me just rotate the rear of my car to make it more convenient, safe, show off (insert 100 other things here)'.
-
"literally no point" is extremely hyperbolic. The issue appears to be fixed client side, sure. However i have seen more popped tires in the last 3days than anytime before. Purposes of doing a burnout to rotate your car: Get out/into tight spaces Alot of RP things many in the server are interested in such as showing off your car. rotate the vehicle for various purposes such as cover, to jump on top of to reach a ledge, etc. Without having to do many forward-reverse maneuvers i am sure there are alot of other uses i did not mention, but just because you do not use something in the server, does not mean that there is 'no use' to it.
-
Hold WS+a/d in a vehicle, you cannot rotate it anymore. very few vehicles you still can like the drag.
-
+1 Ironically enough, i have seen more popped tires with the update than before it. sync issue or not removing burnouts which can be very useful for escapes, RP and many other reasons is not a valid 'fix' in my opinion.

this would actually be awesome, +1

Im now going to look in every bush in the server to find your bike.

The timer should not come down, i think a factor you are forgetting about is the fact the owner should be given a reasonable window of time to have a chance to get the car back. Anything that would go down to lets say 3-5minutes it would narrow the window of time for the owner to put out a BOLO or hunt it down and get to chopshop significantly. At that point it wouldnt be fair for the owner of the vehicle as they would have little to no chance to retrieve it. Maybe an in-between could be interesting? No way an instant chop would be healthy for the server in my opinion. This would be way, way too easy for the thief and make BOLOs for stolen vehicles nearly useless. The owner would have such a short window of time to intercept the thief on his way to chopshop it wouldn't be reasonable. Perhaps you can 'drop it off' at the chop while the mechanics are working on it, allowing you to go and get another vehicle but with the risk of the owner being able to sneak it and get it away while you are no longer looking over it? Im sure there could be a lot of counters to this suggestion, just looking for alternatives of OP's and your suggestion. Now keep in mind, 3k is the minimum you can get, once you know the locations that a lot of people tend to leave their cars or you set up a proper operation to chop you can make more than the numbers you have mentioned. You can also get much higher value cars if you rob people for the ones they are in, you just have to be properly organized and have the required firepower. You have a choice not to chop and wait for our operation to be over (i.e bigger situation going on we have to tend to) or pay the small fee to keep the rest of the money the chop yields. Personally i do not think the amount the chopshop gives should be changed based off of IC events/issues such as people 'owning' the chopshop and taxing its users. I do have a biased point of view as i am part of the group that 'takes over' chopshop and does the contracts to tax people using it, but i think it is really great RP. It would be much easier and lucrative to just rob them all but that wouldn't be as enjoyable for either side. I do not think the interactions at the chopshop would be the same if you could instantly chop the vehicles. You make a decent point here and the expensive cars are targeted heavily when spotted by those who can take them on and rob their owner. Though the amount that they will be targeted versus their less expensive counterpart will probably not change change as there are so many chebureks, warreners, or other much less expensive vehicles. I disagree with the yellow highlighted text though unless you meant for it to apply just to the very cheap cars, then maybe i would agree. There has to be a cost for your vehicle to be chopped because you failed to park it in a safe spot, got mugged, or any other scenario. If there isnt then the vehicle owner can just take their 2 most expensive cars out of their garage when they go offline or know they wont need it for awhile and let their buddies get the cash for the chop with little to no cost for the owner. This could be interesting, but on the other hand the main risk would now move to the lockpicking of the car and i can see a lot of arguments also being made against that such as being exposed in the open for too long. Maybe a skillcheck could be added? as the better you get and more cars you chop you would get better over time and improve your efficiency with chopping vehicles? I have absolutely no idea how this could be added or if its possible, just thinking of other options. Making it instant would be bad for the above mentioned reasons having to do with the owner getting it back along with removing a decent amount of RP having to do with it. But i also think making it instant AND increasing the cash payout would be making it way too lucrative. I'm unsure whether to +1 or -1. Lots to think about, and sorry for the long ass read.

I dont think he means the bank NCZ. It could be the Fleeca bank near chumash, or countless other banks already put into GTA V. +1 OP
-
This is good to hear, but I think something should be done until then This is my contention, PD should not know the chopshop even if there is a BOLO out on someone's car until somebody makes a 911 call about it. I.e the guy who's car got stolen asks around for chop location, goes to it waiting for his car to show up and when it does he calls the cops

Change Speed Camera Fines Or Add automatic cruise control
TheCanadian replied to ItsFiftyy's topic in Archive
The issue being if you use KBM which most do to be able to RP properly, accidentally forgetting to press L and set cruise control to 70, or leaving the bank too fast/ holding 'W' a little bit too long (especially on fast accelerating vehicles such as the drag) can get you wanted, and a full 2 hour sentence. I like the concept, but it needs a lot of tuning in my opinion. This should not come from the players pockets until the devs find 'a fix' or a proper way to implement speed cameras because alot of players will get shafted until the change is made. -
Sure, until you are the passenger and also get charged because the driver is speeding which has happened multiple times to those i have spoken to. It appears the script charges everyone in the vehicle which clearly shouldn't be the case.

I was told by many PD members that the rule in place is just for drug labs, not chopshops. They can currently camp the chopshops, patrol to find it and drive by them or come back later if a BOLO is placed. Chopshops do not require a call placed the same as drug labs from everything i have been told. there is no ooc rule against camping or patrolling them.
-
Another simple suggestion and addition to the OOC PD rule for patrolling drug labs. Add a similar one one for chopshops. They can only go to them when someone calls them/makes a report about the chopshop directly making the call at the location or describing it in the report. I have had multiple encounters where PD are camping/patrolling at or near a chopshop waiting for someone to start chopping or on a BOLO to catch them. Obviously chopshops are in set locations because of the script, however i do not think PD should know the locations ICly as they can be chopped anywhere, in your own garage, with an illegal connection you have, etc. This suggestion would make it so that even if there is a BOLO out PD should not be able to patrol the chopshops and drive by the areas in hopes to see cars there as they shouldn't know the locations ICly unless someone makes the call and reports it. The mentioned drug lab suggestion post: Let me know your thoughts!

-1 IMO. Taxis are still preferred over fagios when available because a fagio tops out at 70 as you said. Nerfing the fagio in terms of cost or speed would shaft the whole server. Taxi's still are far better when doing any sort of considerable distance, the cameras are only in the NCZs not everywhere. I don't think the small areas a taxi would have to slow down justifies nerfing such a widely used service like the fagio, not to mention fagios are available 24/7 but majority of the time 1 or so cab drivers are online and cannot possibly answer all the calls.

Can't disagree with you on this point, but a form of criminal counter like a license plate cover could still be interesting to implement in the future. I'm curious to see what direction it is taken in for later updates but I dislike the implementation of speed cameras in its current form.
-
+1 to this especially the mech and VOIP suggestion. If there could also be added an option for the mech bill to fix only the tires for less it would also be a good addition in my opinion especially considering how damn buggy they are and admins having more important issues to deal with. 2tires popped shouldn't cost the same as my engine eating 3 shotgun shells.

I'm unsure about LA so I might be wrong on how it functions there, but where I live (Montreal) speed cameras may only give a fine, no demerits and the person would not be wanted for it. I might be wrong on this, and correct me if I am but it seems that the speed cameras add you to the wanted list for reckless driving. Twice that you are already looking at max sentence. I'm not entirely opposed to the idea, but I think it needs abit of tuning and you shouldn't be added to the wanted list IMO especially when wearing a mask or driving a stolen car (still charges the driver when driving a stolen car, there should be no charges). There should be a form a form of counterplay like OP mentioned, you are able to toggle your plate being covered if you interact with your vehicle (maybe a seperate item, and an added option in the ctrl+x menu?). Having cops on you for driving too fast twice and getting max sentence is nonsense to me. And being required to have your phone off at all times because of it.

+1 don't know how it works behind the scenes or if it's just desync, but a kick does more damage than a shotgun...
