Maybe as an alternative to removing bleets, donators can get a certain % off of weazel ads?

Criminals fleeing to NCZ after committing a crime
TheCanadian replied to TheCanadian's topic in Archive
Banks are not protected by guards with ARs, usually just a guy slightly above 'mall cop' grade who has a pistol. Surely i can easily use the same argument as a reason to add this suggestion, no? The person(s) is so powerful that they can kill somebody at bank where there are cameras in broad daylight without a care and probably get away with it too if they planned accordingly. And as @Gangula mentioned in his previous post a very large portion of assassinations and murders happen in broad daylight in public view where CCTV or other form of cameras are rolling. -
Criminals fleeing to NCZ after committing a crime

My example was to make the police station an exception to this suggestion for obvious reasons; because it's the police HQ. All that really happens 98% of the time is a bunch of shit talking before the guys get bored and leave, or the one being chased logs off or leaves the ncz (and usually gets clapped 1 block from it). -
Huge -1 to the suggestion overall, but especially to these specific points. I don't see how this would possibly work. You are suggesting they should add a sort of tax on those who generally make less money (less active, less opportunity to make money) lowering the same 'tax' on those who should be able to afford it (play more, more opportunity to make money). Effectively this server's version of taxing the poor and giving tax cuts to the rich. I really, really, really hope this isn't implemented, but if it is I would like to propose it should be the other way around. The longer you are on the server the more you would pay in house bills (not substantially more, just enough to make a difference) Also I very much disagree with your 2week timer suggestion. Some people have serious job commitments which don't allow them to get on for a few weeks at a time, others just like taking breaks. I don't know about you but I wouldn't like to go on vacation for 2 weeks to come back and see all my houses on the market because I forgot to bring my laptop to log onto GTA V and run to every house I own. And sure you provide a sort of 'alternative' but this wouldn't work if they're already on the market, only if within those 2 weeks you make the request for the extension which you can only do every 6 months. Not to mention once you come back you will be in what I assume is significant debt because of your house bill being so high since you were inactive, on top of the requested extension.

I can understand this point of view. Thank you for taking the time to further explain your point of view, I appreciate it. -
Criminals fleeing to NCZ after committing a crime
TheCanadian replied to TheCanadian's topic in Archive
Right, so why the -1? I'm confused as all of what you say seems to support and give examples as to why this should be implemented. Or are you saying with your example of 'hands up this is rob' that these are both examples of providing very poor levels of RP but these should remain as they are and players should be allowed to do them both without repercussions? -

You would cover your plates, wear a mask. make yourself as unidentifiable as possible and then proceed with the kill in broad daylight. CCTVs and minimum wage bouncers or guards with a pistol wont stop 5 guys rolling up to clap a guy who fucked with them. I also know exactly what you're talking about, guys in their cars or bikes going back and forth across the street inching one way and the other of the NCZ talking shit while doing it because the invisible barrier says nothing can happen to them while hes in it despite killing 2 people down the street and their friends witnessing it... but nope, since he ran in the magic square he is now safe! -
Criminals fleeing to NCZ after committing a crime
TheCanadian replied to TheCanadian's topic in Archive
Exactly, which is why they run into the NCZ... to avoid the confrontation which their action (the robbery/attack) provoked once the tables have turned. I might be misunderstanding what you are saying but i don't see how what you said can be accompanied by a -1, would you mind elaborating? -
Criminals fleeing to NCZ after committing a crime

What would you suggest then to combat this very common issue? This behavior ruins a lot of RP encounters. Making a report for each time this happens would start to show people that it is in fact non-rp but with the frequency at which this happens, most people just dont bother reporting it and i dont blame them. Leaving it as it is would do nothing to intervene with the issue while its happening and it wouldn't add RP to the server, it in fact removes it. I do not like that people do this just to avoid confrontation after they realize their actions have consequences. Edit:removed the ncz paragraph as if we go into the actual RP of them we can go down a slippery slope. -
Suggestion: Allow those who were the victims of a very recent heavy crime to kill their offender in a NCZ. Explanation: I see this happen on a daily basis; one person robs another and they realized after the fact they fucked up, either the guy they robbed chases after them or calls for backup and then they are on a mission to kill the guy who fucked with them, and what happens? They flee to the bank, tequilala, MD, etc. All areas which are covered in cameras and the RP just stops right there, dead in its tracks because of the invisible barrier. I know killing them would be against the law but i strongly think it shouldn't be against the rules. How it would work: If you are actively chasing those who recently robbed or committed a heavy crime against you or one of your friends (that you witnessed as per the KOS rules) and they run inside a NCZ, you are allowed to kill them. This would not work with roles flipped however, victims of a crime may still run to the NCZ to seek protection from those committing the crime as this is proper RP and fairly realistic. What wouldn't be allowed: You would not be allowed to do most of the things currently against the rules in the NCZs such as executing your KOS on someone from 23hours ago or kill cops arresting your friends. I also wouldn't be against the idea of making PD an exception to this suggestion depending on how many cops are in or around it. In practice: I believe if this is implemented that it would add a substantial amount of RP to the server which previously just stopped because the offender ran into the NCZ. I played on an Arma3 altis life server which did not originally have this exemption to the NCZ. Once it was added those who committed crimes would no longer run to the magical safety barrier, they would have to try and lose the tail, come up with a plan with their fellow gang/faction members on how to deal with the situation at hand or just accept that they screwed with the wrong people and surrender with hopes to keep their life. This will have the opposite effect that some of you might be thinking, it wouldn't add a a lot of fights to the NCZ, but rather remove the incentive for people to run to them as cover. To clarify: The purpose of this thread is for crimes committed from one player to another, not having to do with hitting stores or making drugs. I am aware that this can be considered Non-RP if someone commits a crime then runs inside a NCZ for protection, but i cannot be bothered to make 5 reports every day for each time i see this and i also doubt admins want to filter through all reports related to this issue. So i am proposing a change to the rules to remove the need of reports related to this and add more RP to the server.

surprised it hasnt already happened

If what you are saying is a joke then alright. Otherwise in no way shape or form should PD taze through the windows while they are driving, that is 100% script abusing and shit rp by the PD. The tasers do not register the windows (it appears) and they just say 'fuck it' and keep tazing people that are driving. Not to mention that tazing those who are operating vehicles is extremely dangerous for both the officer, the one being tazed and anybody in their surroundings. This should never happen, seems like one of the most obvious things not to do in PD.

Also, forgot to mention: If it does get implemented that the coma works in function with your bleedout and not a static 15mins then it should remove a very large portion of mercy killing that can happen on this server. The only exception that i can think of that it would still be 'viable' is if your friend is about to get healed and arrested, otherwise it would be the same if they wait the injury timer or die instantly.
-
I think this could be really really interesting to give a try and see if it works for a week or two, then decide if they want to keep it into the server. I haven't made up my mind on what would be better though, single judge or full jurry. In practice the judge would probably be better and more reliable because i dont think jurry would function well unless for example... those who get called for jurry duty get a wellfare cheque of for example.... 5k, something that makes them want to pay attention to the trial, and be invested because they have that added financial incentive. Also though, to be fair to both sides, i am a zetas member. I am fully aware that if there is a full on jury system most if not all zetas irish and clowns would not be convicted, or have a never ending mistrial/hung jury due to the number they take up on the server and the likeliness at least one will be on any given jury. So i think just a single judge would potentially be the best option.
-
I agree with this, but also with all the other stuff admins have to deal with. I think there could be a way to fix the coma so that isnt one of them. Maybe there could be a good in-between? such as 15mins total? I.E if you got killed on your bike by hitting sodium and flying 500feet high then crashing, calling the medics waiting for 10mins and they dont show up, when you get to MD you only gotta wait for 5 since you already waited 10mins while injured. Whereas if you got in a gang fight, got clapped and the guys waited lets say 1minute to finish you off, you would get into a 14minute coma since you only waited 1 minute injured. (honestly this might be a pointless post, and it might be how it currently is. I've never been in a coma so far so apologies in advance.)

only way i see it effect anyone 'negatively' might be those who hit richman to rob... but even then i wouldnt take it as a negative, the chance that someone can roll up and how to deal with the situation just makes it more interesting IMO. . +1 to making this a gas station, and more competition in gas station forces others to adjust their prices accordingly, look how much the gas dropped since geralt put reaper gas at 6$.

I would actually love to continue this conversation in voice chat if you are alright with that, seems much better than over text on forums

I have alot of issues with the things you have said Denni, First. Sure, sandwiches can be deleted upon arrest (cop doesn't get to keep it either). or any perishable foods. But once again, you seem to be applying this decomposing aspect of realism to suit what you want and not applying it consistently. Sure, fuck it your idea that food should spoil appears to be a good one, hell I'm all for it. But then this would mean you also cannot keep a sandwich on you forever or in your storage at home, you understand what im saying? This is not a valid counterargument for OP's post if you are not willing to apply it to the rest of the server and instead you are just using it as a red herring. See that is what makes it even worse, you are right in that i haven't been here long compared to the length of the server, and yet all this time, all of the organisation that had to be put in place to get it this far.... And it still is how it is. I cannot tell you the amount of times I have rolled up to a active scene, one cop yells at me to get the fuck out of the area, the other tells me to get out of the car, i drive off, they chase me and try to get me for felony evading before i explain to the sergeant that one of them told me to leave and i didnt know what order to follow so i just left. This example is not one that would require alot of organisation, this is the most basic shit to get sorted once you are at a scene no matter how small or big. The drug labs are more organised than the cops making a stop for an illegal u-turn. I understand that new players are a hassle, bunch of people are just out there looking to shoot cops, etc. Whatever, but if we add your so beloved aspect of 'realism' to this example, in real life cops are trusted with more power than a normal everyday joe civilian because they are supposed to be better I.e: look at the better side of 2 situations, understand them, take the facts from them, not react emotionally to a situation, etc.etc. You get the Jist. The excuse can never be said of 'do you know how hard my job is?' after killing someone by accident why? because we trust cops with more power. Above posts have already suggested the idea of a script to do this. I'm sorry my dude, i have to call the biggest bullshit on this. you once again adding realism to suit what you want it. You never see cops /me puts on nitrile (or whatever the proper material is) gloves. /me carefully picks up and places the sandwich in an evidence bag. etc. they straight up go to your body ninja loot all the shit you got, and then proceed with the arrest. Also the funniest thing is that even if they would do that you are still wrong, once the trial is over items are usually returned to their owner unless they were contaminated, in terms of firearms that can vary from different laws. I might also be able to buy your case of 'its needed for evidence' if it wasnt for the fact like you also conveniently mentioned which is the lack of a court system. What do you need the evidence for? As it is, the cop is the judge jury and executioner. The police doesnt have a case to show lawyers or judges, no prints required if they say the man is guilty, hes guilty. They do not need the evidence for what it is used for normally IRL which would be in court. Once they injured/arrested the subject he doesnt have his chance to prove his innocence. A simple report does not fix the fundamental issues that PD has in its lack of organization on a daily basis. I hope you read this all and understood what is wrong with the statements you make and seek to become more consistent in the way you apply your so beloved realism and RP. Much love, Mercer
-
Once the evidence is collected and analyzed, the items are given back IRL. (unless some crucial item such as the weapon). I dont buy that the cop needed my sandwich for a felony evading and felony reckless driving charge. And you are lying to yourself if you honestly think that. This just sounds like punishing people for doing a certain part of the servers economy, not adding any form of realism, or helping either party. Cops get away with a lot of shit that others wouldnt be able to, the same cannot be said about civis to that extent. The lack of a court system currently gives the cops way too much power, you don't even have to "do the crime" and you might get arrested because of a hellbent on revenge cadet thinks you did it. The lack of organisation in the PD is also very apparent. And if people really want to add the 'realism' they claim to love all around, and not just say it for the things they like, and forget for those they dislike, then the second point should be added.
-
+1, seems it would also make it easier to pay loans if it is added as an account you need to pay off in the banking UI.

If we're being completely honest here... No it won't, you can RP plenty while cops are arresting your friend now, ask them whats going on, why hes getting arrested, RP his lawyer if they wana play along, etc.etc. All adding this would do is add a KOS reason inside NCZ. if this gets implemented (which jesus christ i hope it doesnt) do you honestly think people are going to roll up next to their friend getting arrested and do proper rp with the cops as you claim? No. The RP that will go down is "oh shit. X is getting arrested for [ insert felonies here] let's go help him out guys!" then for the following 10 minutes, its going to be a shootout between the PD and the criminals trying to break their friend free (while civis are caught in the way). It will not add any form of RP, just another reason and location to KOS. Edit: even though you cannot currently do anything inside ncz, you can do something outside that will influence your friend getting arrested. (i.e kidnapping a cop, and demanding your friend to be let go in exchange for his life). This however, +1. Food, bags, radios,, bobby pins, etc. are fucking expensive when you add it all up. I'm all for cops being able to seize the weapons used during the crime, including those in the vehicles of the suspects. However, i do not think they should be able to be basically scavengers. I am unsure of what they do with the seized items ( do they have a place to destroy it? do they use it themselves?) It would be even worse if they use it themselves (tipping the scales further in their favor in terms of economy). Either way though, i do not think that matters, when you get sent to prison, everything that you have on you is collected and stored for when you leave. Im unsure why that is in this server, if anyone has a proper answer i would love to hear it because i cannot fathom why it is the way it currently is.

+1 to everything. Having a prison economy would be really awesome. Also especially +1 to the 2 hour limit, Why someone who guns down 10 people, then kills 3 cops before getting caught gets the same time as someone who only has felony reckless driving and felony evading is beyond me.
