Apologies if this suggestion has been made in the past but I have noticed that when you buy a jerrycan from a general store and use it, it doesn't fill your vehicle up by liter/gallon, but by a flat 25%. This causes motorcycles to get screwed over in terms of the cost relative to the benefit of the jerrycans. If we take the fuel tank of an F-150, the standard size is 87 Liters, whereas if we take a bike such as the CBR 600, its tank size is 18.2Liters. Taking this into account ingame it is far less realistic and it is clear that the drivers of cars and trucks benefit far more from jerrycans than motorcycle riders. So my suggestion is to make the jerrycans refuel by a set volume, and not a flat%. Motorcycle before Jerrycan After Car before Car after

Sure, maybe if in supercars or motorcycles... But no side or rear mirrors is a massive issue. Also with forced FPP i would bet 100 monopoly dollars there will not be anywhere near the amount of truckers there are currently.
-
These are also 2 great points, alot of people want to see their customized vehicle from the outside when driving, not just the fuzzy dice on the non-functional mirror. For me if this game was Arma 3, I would be all for it. However GTA V first person is absolutely shite.
-
Other than it being a bad idea for all the reasons the others have brought up. FORCING it would make the trucking job nearly impossible for most people, having to back up into tight spots without functioning side mirrors., Sure it can be done but would take 100 back and forths, currently third person is needed for many jobs or activities, even if somehow it is fixed I don't think anyone should be forced into a PoV they don't like.

If that's what you think you clearly haven't read any sort of counter-arguments in this thread. There are many reasons. Here ill number them to make it nice and neat. 1) How would it be billed, flat $ or a percentage of what you have in the bank? 2) would it bill the owner, in this case what would happen with stolen vehicles? 3) would they be in fixed places, if so where? literally every street, or just near NCZ areas? 4) would they add other RP elements to be able to contest the speeding tickets i.e court system? 5) would the police and emt be immune? because you can see them be frequent offenders as well. 6) Would it bill automatically, or notify the police of locations of frequent speeders? 7) Would there be any form of counterplay to this other than the scrapyard cars? perhaps be able to purchase a fairly expensive item that blacks out your plate? 8 ) How would it effect those of us who do legitimate jobs in transportation, currently it is based off of distanced travel so there is even more of an incentive to not follow the traffic lights and speed limit. Get it done as fast as possible so you can get paid as fast as possible. (The exception to this would be salary income employees such as taxi drivers). Would they increase the pay to make it an incentive to do those jobs, or just keep the same pay but now you have to follow the laws to not get dinged by a ticket. (also, to add onto this, if youre driving a truck or any sort of other vehicle for a job, it would be great not having to pay out of pocket for gas, companies cover that.) With literally no information to go off of on any of the topics, the better question instead of asking "why would you vote no" is why would you vote yes? they have not elaborated on any points brought up or how it would effect those in the server. I'm sure i forgot a thing or two, but those are some of the biggest points i have brought up, and seen brought up.
-
That's as silly as me saying "if you vote yes, you're an idiot who votes for things with little to no information provided." Why even bother saying that? Needless confrontation.
-
Whats the scale you are going by though? I can change the qualification and say that most RP heavy moments usually happen when a situation goes bad and it turns into a gunfight/fisticuffs or other forms of violence. But point taken. If we are focusing on driving realism can we talk about how if at all would the pay change for truck drivers, parcel drivers, etc? if we want to make it more rp and they have to stop at red lights and the whole 9 yards... would there be any form of compensation to the salary or would it stay the same? Speaking of driving trucks or operation vehicles at as a job, what about refueling? currently you pay your fuel even when you're driving to a delivery and you are supposed to be working for company so they should pay your fuel and not you with out of pocket expenses. Edit: as i mentioned before, and will mention again, there is currently 0 incentive for drivers of law abiding jobs to follow the laws of the road because they will not be paid as much... no point in following the laws to a delivery and get to it in half an hour when you can speed, run red lights, and do it in 15. i hope this changes if people want to be more strict on road laws, speeding, red lights, etc.
-
Thats a great idea! But why focus on driving only? If we want to make it more like RP and like real life, cops should die from a 9mm placed between the eyes
-
+1. Asking if we want them, and not asking how they should or would be elaborated. just a 'yes/no' question. They can look at this poll and say 'huh, most people want speed cameras, lets put them in!' if most people vote yes because they can see it as a seal of approval as people voted yes so they should be implemented without creating another poll asking HOW they should be implemented... To re-iterate i think this poll is just irresponsible
-
IF we really wana be anal, and follow the "more like real life" argument people seem to be putting forwards as a reason why they should be implemented... When and if speed cameras are implemented they should remain stationary, so once you know the map you know where they are (with lets say the exception of a few cameras that move) because IRL, usually theyre mounted on intersections or on the other side of the shoulder on the highway, permanently there. The exception being those that get towed and moved around based off of the time of day. This would allow people to learn the map and dodge the cameras, and in turn make it more realistic... You know, because of RP and all. Also, adding a radar detector would be interesting (apologies if its already in the game. havent looked in every store) because that would be more realistic too, and then if you get caught with one you get a massive fine, similar to IRL depending on the country.
-
It's all mentioned when you do the driving test at the DMV so people do know the limit. The distinction being whats considered speeding, VS the irl version of following traffic. (i.e 120 on highways, 80-85s in 70 zones, etc. I just hope it's implemented reasonably... That's all.
-
If that would be how speed cameras are implemented, i do not think you should count it as cop baiting (depending on the extent, and the rp stemming from it) because at that point alot of interesting RP that can be had with police automatically is written off as cop baiting. there should be a difference between going 250 on the north-most part of the highway where you can assume you are most likely alone, VS doing a burnout in front of a cop at an intersection.
-
+1 Adding a court system would add A LOT of potential RP experiences, you could now be lawyers and have clients, contest their speeding tickets or whatever other violation they have... also i agree on the no cooldown when you die, i find that abit strange... And it seems you cannot really contest any charges brought to you because the officers have the final say, if there would be a court system then that would be much better. also -1 speeding cameras until they elaborate on the implementation
-
That isn't the point i am making. The point is that they are asking the community to vote without elaborating on how they would work... Would they then add a court system to have you rp in there to contest speeding tickets? along with all the other things i mentioned, if they add a court system then this could add interesting RP. But we should ask them to have a frame of reference on how it would work before making a poll...
-
If you're voting without information might as well leave it up for a coinflip, as it currently is we have literally 0 information as to how it would be put into the server.
-
Also forgot to mention how would this effect jobs that are based off of distance traveled and not straight salary? (i.e trucker, delivery driver, etc?) right now there is no incentive to follow traffic laws as being one of those employees because its based on distance traveled, so why take 30minutes following speed limits when 15 would get you there faster, and in turn make you more money? if the pay is adjusted and its implemented in a reasonable manner, i can see this working potentially. But as of now without more information, i just think its silly to put up a poll.
-
I voted no. Before a poll like this is done, there should be more information on how they would be implemented. It's nice and all to get people .02 with votes, but if people vote yes with literally 0 information on how they would work, once the poll is finished it could be put into the server in a way most people would have disagreed with. would they be at set locations around the city or literally everywhere on the map?? would there be counterplay (i.e being able to buy a pricy item that blacks out your plate)? would it just notify the police on where those speeding are located, or would it automatically just bill you, and if it just automatically bills the vehicle owner, then what about those who steal vehicles, they can now just do that to get a massive bill to it's owner. Is it a flat $ per/kmph over? is it based off of a % you have in your bank? I think making a poll without elaboration how it would work on the founder's part is a little bit irresponsible because we have literally 0 information on how they would be implemented
