  1. The suggestion am making is to have it toggled when you drive at a certain speed and the cruise control holds it(like irl). Unless you are talking about them modifying the speed limiter, then I wouldn't be opposed to your suggestion as long as you can set it to whatever you want (79kph to avoid speed cameras) and not just 70,80, etc. Only if it is applied with my suggestion, so people have the option to pick
  2. Instead of making the cruise control a toggle that you still need to hold the acceleration and it limits how fast you go, I think the cruise control would be better as it is IRL. You are at a set speed, you toggle it and let go off the acceleration and the cruise control maintains your speed. I think this would be a great improvement as it would be instant, you will see if the cruise control works. No hopping on and off your bike, thinking the cruise control still works and then I bugs and toggles off making you get a ticket. But I think the biggest reason this should be added if for driving and chatting. If you are a truck driver on a stretch of the highway and you want to type something in the CB radio, currently you will slow down as you type. But this obviously applies to everyone. I believe it would be a great quality of life change to be allowed to type in chat and if your cruise control was on you would maintain that speed, allowing you to chat on the stretches of the highway without slowing to 30kph while doing so.
  3. +1, logged on to see 2.5k/500 for one of my vehicles... that was after i sold most of my heavies. i cannot imagine what some peoples inventories look like.
  4. I wasn't stating it was your problem. I was saying you do not deal with the 5+hour of boredom, so it doesn't impact you. Yet you are against changing the jail sentence back? I haven't been caught in the last 2-3months other than times i wanted to be. (turned myself in). I am not 'used' to the safety blanket. I do not act recklessly knowing its only 2 hours. I am careful about the vehicles i drive, the hits and robberies i do, everything i take part in. The prison time doesn't effect me because i am recently much less active, and even if i wasn't i dont really get caught other than turning myself in. All of these assumptions, and you are incorrect about all of them. Let's lock you in a room, with little to nothing to interact with. Players which might as well be NPCs (Afk, not doing shit) and see how long you can entertain yourself before you get bored. Sometimes the issue is not with the player, but with the game. Script support is needed to prison. More than just mining and poker. You are saying not to look to DOC or PD for the answer to our problems. Are you saying guards shouldn't interact with the prisoners? They should. Its a fucking prison, The guards should be interacting with the prisoners, have a routine, etc. They are the main party prison RP should revolve around. A schedule to maintain, when prisoners eat, work, relax and watch tv, etc. Yet none of this is happening. Now i dont know about you, but to me i would think the lack of interaction between DOC and prisoners is a serious problem. The occasional time DOC is involved is with jailbreaks and that is it. You can only RP something so many times in prison by yourself before it becomes boring and annoying and realize you might as well afk on one monitor, netflix on the other and catch up on shows you missed. It is a much better use of your time rather than figure out what /me and /do to do for 5+hours to entertain yourself and only yourself.
  5. Also, Nice meme. Can we not say the same for you? If you are PD/Legal you do not have to deal with any of these consequences, you just send their ass in jail, and in an hour you will forget all about them, meanwhile they're the ones who have to sit in there and keep themselves occupied for 5+hours. Little to no RP or interaction from DOC. No daily routine, no nothing. You are also posting your usual rhetoric. You are not the one that has to keep yourself occupied for 5+hours with nothing to do. You toss their ass in jail, throw away the key and thats where it ends for you. People come on the server to have fun, this is a fucking game. They are not looking to come onto the server to be bored for over 5hours, this is not fun, this is not RP.Might as well just play an entertaining single player game at that point rather than sit in a chair and /afkmath every time it pops up. >Come home from a day's work >Forget you got put in jail yesterday before logging off >Log onto ECRP to relax after work and have fun >Realize you are in prison and have 5 hours left >Mine for 10minutes and realize its fucking pointless and boring >watch youtube/netflix on one screen and afkmath on the other due to the complete lack of RP in prison >3/5hours completed before logging off to do chores, work, etc. >Realize you gotta do the same tomorrow This is the RP i was looking forward to when they announced the increase to prison times
  6. This is already allowed, unless by "to his head" you also mean pull the trigger. If someone harasses you, you are allowed to point your gun at them and give them demands. Same as if they dont, it would just be a normal robbery. This wouldn't fix much
  7. i don't think anyone is reasonably disagreeing with you. The arguments that have been spoken about in the last 2 weeks are about how shit the update is for criminals. Because let's face it. It is. There is nothing for criminals to do in prison, and they removed the sentence cap and ability to afk. >Add mining >Add poker in prison >Mine 10 minutes to get 20seconds off your sentence Woah dude, let's remove the sentencing cap so people can go away for many, many hours and be bored out of their fucking mind The update does not add enough RP to justify an unlimited sentence. most people cant be fucked to mine for a long ass time only to remove a trivial amount of time off of their sentence. inb4 "hurrrr durrr, make your own rp in prison xD" Big mood.
  8. -1 If the desync on them would be any way similar to the desync with tow trucks. +1 if it would have no desync, and stable to drive with.
  9. +1 to giving people permission to build stuff without owning the house, -1 to it being a new faction. There are many more factions that have been suggested that would add far more RP than this. A simple menu option would essentially do the same thing, and it would be your job to advertise your services. A couple people i personally know have made good money off of renovating other's homes.
  10. Damn, You're right. They should have wore something to block their face and not get ID'd by the camera Oh wait, they did!
  11. i have a paleto house for the sole purpose of using its garage if my tires get desync popped. I am not a fan of the idea that my tires could be popped in paleto and be completely out of my control without anything i can do about it other than drive back to the city spinning out every 5 seconds to get them fixed at LSC. being able to fix in your garage is useful because of all the massive desync issues on the server. removing it would make players pay for getting fucked over by what is essentially a bug.
  12. Thats what he means but he didnt describe it well. He is suggesting to have all vehicles take damage that cannot be fixed by putting it in your garage, instead you need to go to bayview/LSC. I dont know about the rest, but im not in the mood to pay 8k to fix a rapid GT because it got desync rammed by a motorcycle
  13. Pfft, you mean to tell me adding mining wont keep you busy for your 2+hour prison sentence? You dont want to work 10minutes to remove 20seconds from your sentence because its fucking pointless? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
  14. Because the prison update is an OOC implementation. how would this be solved ICly? "hey mr commissioner, please go back to making the max prison sentence 10 years, kthxbye". There is no mayor, no form of government, its a police state. This cannot be solved ICly. Same way the salary changes wouldnt be able to be solved ICly. its an OOC implementation. Sure we might be able to RP along with it in character, but no changes will come from it without the community speaking out about it on the forums.
  15. Honestly this seems to be the reasonable solution funnily enough. Rather than hamstring the fuck out of criminal life and claim its to add realism when all it does is completely fuck over those interested in playing a criminally inclined character, why not just say you are trying to remove the majority of crimes on the server. Make criminal life even further difficult and add updates further promoting a civilian lifestyle and script support for that as an incentive for people to move towards legal work. Maybe not 2hrs, but make it a 3-4hr cap. At the end of the day this is a game. Even with the prison script recently added, it is not enough of stuff to do for 2+hours work. The mining in prison did not add enough rp or things to do, neither did the poker. i can't be fucked mining for 10minutes to remove 20seconds off my sentence and from what i saw in the discord general on the update, many feel the same way. This seems to be a weird limbo stage. I say there should be a very clear side and path chosen for further updates. Do you want criminal activity to be common or very scarce? In the past the way the server has behaved it was always very common, and what most non legal faction workers did. If you want to change that, then Okay, go for it. Make illegal life very hard to get into, difficult and punishing. But also make it rewarding for those who dare to do it. I would be against moving the server into a majority legal worker. But i would prefer that being said by the developers so the intentions of the updates are clear and it doesnt feel like they are just trying to fuck over criminals as hard as possible. Potentially add further non-faction legal work script support. Why the fuck would i risk grinding out labs or chopshop when i can make about the same mining with a pounder and avoid 2+hours in jail.
  16. couldn't have said it better myself. -1 to this suggestion.
  17. Nah, its to add realism like all the timers and increased jail time adds to the server xD Memes aside, would you be in favour of the addition to your suggestion i made? No PD alts for judges along with no criminal alts, as both of these would give them further bias.
  18. Yes, hence the suggestion to change how deathRP works. You shouldnt be able to get lit up by 4 carbines when a SWAT insurgent rolls up and still be denied death RP. It doesn't make sense RPly. It isnt toxic, i have literally been told that if i "wasted" their time with the chase, the officer was gonna waste my time with jail. Can you enlighten us all with reasons why death RP would be denied when it is clear that RPly the person would/should be dead?
  19. i would +1 this, EMTs would tend to be less bias than PD. If the wounds make sense the criminal should be able to deathRP. I was baffled when i got shot by a .50 cal and death RP was denied. PD are less likely to approve death RP if its like you said a very long chase. Because they see it as you wasting their time, and they want to waste yours by sending you to prison (whether it makes sense RPly or not that you would be alive). Not to mention some people in PD will answer death RPs differently depending on who it is requesting it, i.e if its a zetas, clown, triad, wanted. Etc. or if they just have a personal vendetta against that person. I think the criminal should be able to present the facts of the situation such as "Got shot X times by X people with X weapon" And then if it makes sense for deathRP to be granted based off of the facts, it should be.
  20. The issue i have with IA reports is any time an arrest is made and i try to intervene, ask questions, etc. Whether its my friend or myself being arrested, in my 6months+ and 70 or so days played on the server i am willing to bet 95+% of the time i have been told "just ia report it, we are proceeding with this arrest." There are only 4 instances i can think of where the officer actually took time to get both sides of the altercation and didnt just say "just ia report xD" One was with Philippe Sanchez, the other with Ilia Daniels(twice with each officer). Granted, there might be more instances that i am forgetting but the point i am trying to make is that it seems many officers just answer to disputes of arrest with telling those who are debating it or talking about their side of the altercation with "just ia report, you're still going to jail." Which i mean, sure... i guess they can do that? But it doesn't really promote better RP on the server rather than taking the time to hear both sides and then when you have all the facts deciding if an arrest should be made and of who it should be. The reality is most officers know a lot of times civilians/criminals wont bother to make IA reports because it is a pain in the ass, and they use that to their advantage (it seems) rather than play out the RP and listen to each side. Seems they want to wrap up a scene as fast as they can once they arrive, get on with the arrests, and deal with any injustice in IA rather than listen to both sides. Having a judicial system would add significant RP to the server and help keep both officers and criminals accountable for their actions (Murders, unlawful arrests, etc.).
  21. Personally i would say "significantly" rather than "slightly". most of these timers are way too long for the action they are supposed to be slowing down.
  22. IRL literally takes bout 5-10seconds to do all 3 of those actions. when you own a home and have keys for awhile it becomes muscle memory what key it is. You arent looking through a set of 10keys trying them all out to see which one it is. These timers are way, way too long. Not to mention on most if not all homes locking your door from the inside takes about 1second to flip the lock on the door once it is closed. The point of these timers were to add realism, which i can appreciate and i like the intent behind them. But currently in practice they are doing the complete opposite. Truth is for many of these timers having it happen instantly was more realistic than waiting 20-40seconds for an action to happen. All of the timers you mentioned are painfully slow and unrealistic. when i first came back from the update and started eating i was like "huh, one timer then the burger is finished? Cool.". then i realized i had to repeat it many times until it was finished... +1 op
  23. Would it not also be fair to ask that the judge doesnt have a PD character then? Seems like a double standard. I would suggest that the court is only open to the charges above X number of hours (X to be determined, but i was thinking 2-3hrs). as it would be impossible to have a proper case with every charge and arrest made on the server. Nice meme
