  1. FiveM was bought out by Rockstar, the developers of the game, of course they're going to have more players and better, they're first class citizens. There are more players playing FiveM right now than we've ever had accounts created. If you adjust your lens to a more comparable one, and compare us with all other RAGE MP servers, you will find that we're the most successful VOIP RP server. The only realistic competition is text-only.
  2. I think it's baffling how a group of players have started to echo the notion that the player base in 2021 was so high not because literally the entire world was in lockdown which saw monumental increases in all gaming and recreational activities, because people had nothing to do and were locked inside. Adolescents’ Recreational Screen Time Doubled During Pandemic, Affecting Mental Health | UC San Francisco Microsoft Word - 24.docx The drop in the player base is not because an imagine slight to a part of the population, but due to all of those people going back to work, or school. Even a game backed by Activision Blizzard and their gargantuan budget with Warzone, a free to play game, could not retain its peak player base. It's not an issue with the game, it's an 'issue' with real-life taking priority. In fact, as of right now, with the FM team and recent changes, this is probably the most active criminal scene we've had ever. I was leading an official criminal faction in 2021, and I can tell you for a fact we did not have 21 active criminal factions on the server then; but we do now; If you still find yourself lacking in people to roleplay with, or activities to do, perhaps consider if you focus too much on PVP and this makes other groups not want to interact with you.
  3. Do you believe that an LEO shooting your character and injuring it is not roleplay?
  4. You missed his point. It's not something that was obtained through IC means but is being used as an IC advantage. If you are fine with that, then you should also be fine with cops using personal Niobes to chase you. I don't necessarily agree with that, but that was the point. Not something about grinding for assets.
  5. I find any complaint about high-speeds to be made in bad faith as long as the Niobe and most other HSW vehicles continue to exist and perform at their curent level. No amount of Jugulars compensates for that. Watch 20secondsoritsfree | Streamable
  6. Outside of a few people that owned dealerships for years, I reckon the average old time criminal has more assets than a legal character. Just some stashes I've personally seen are worth like 3 years of working a legal job. Yes, it's steady money and yes you don't have as many sinks but in most cases you're making 6k an hour. That's nothing, you make more doing bus route.
  7. I think this is a symptom of a bigger issue: most people do not roleplay characters on this server. I've personally heard people state "what character, I just say what I want to say". It would be easier to dissociate if it was truly your character being hit on rather than the person behind the screen, but that is simply not the community that we have -- take for example any player with a female character that does not use their mic, or that has a different than expected voice. The reactions will be wildly different, even though, that is the exact same character they were before. I don't necessarily have a solution, but I do think that any solution should keep in mind the fact that most comments are addressed at the person behind the screen, and not their characters -- and that will make people uncomfortable.
  8. It's very hard to improve intent and very easy to say you did it by accident/miscalculated/etc
  9. What's stopping a player in a shootout that knows they're about to get shot to simply jump off a high place, or people that get run over at the start of fights from giving call of duty callouts? A better system would be that anyone who received any damage from another player in the last 30 minutes can not speak on the radio after injury.
  10. That might be you and your group's personal experience, but this is not the status quo; if anything, at this current time we have the most amount of gangs we've ever had in the server. It's never been easier to establish connections, make friends and succeed. You even get F4 menu after a month, whereas before it took you half a year. Empire is an example of a faction that, as far as I'm aware, was made up entirely of relatively random people (no offense), but they're now an established group that has its own club, headquarter(s), strengths and relationships. They weren't given anything, and for a while it was hard, but they made it and they're doing very well. There's plenty more examples of groups that came up through the same system, with very little friends to lean on, and made it. You can do it too. You'll find that you'll do a lot better if you try to adapt to your environment more rather than trying to change the environment to fit you.
  11. if we're trying to get people to stop having huge stockpiles of weapons without any maintenance, then decay/maintanance was the intended feature these are from #general around the time of the update
  12. In contrast to a MOBA or other such games where the idea is to provide an equal playing field where skill is the only determining factor, in a roleplay server we do allow for unequal relationships such as the one seen between law enforcement and criminal organizations. You should not expect to have access to the same equipment as established groups at the beginning of your journey; you should strive to either make yourself a reliable friend to those organizations, or simply steal it from them during roleplay scenarios. The choice is yours, but asking to be handed it is unreasonable.
  13. Date and time (provide timezone): 01/JAN/2025 00:20 server time Character name: Deandre King Does this issue appear again after a full game restart?: Yes How many times did this issue appear for you?: 100% reproduce Issue/bug you are reporting: Weapon decay not working or working so slow to render the feature meaningless Expected behavior: Weapons decayed Evidence (MUST provide either UNEDITED photo or video) , notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: 1. have firearms 2. watch them decay 3. (possibly) decay reset upon server restart 4. no meaningful decay after six or more months with no mitigating factors (VIP) https://i.imgur.com/0aekJH5.png I have several weapons which have been in house storage for at least six months, during which I did not possess any form of VIP membership; they were never cleaned and have either barely decayed or not decayed at all. I can confirm beyond any doubt that these weapons were not spawned after the 6th May of 2024; the expected result is that they would be unusable without a weapon kit by this point. From what I got told, other community members believe that the decay level is not properly saved and is reset on server restart, making the feature effectively broken, since we restart on a regular basis. 14. Anything drug related inside a private interior has been done, and deemed a bad idea. If these could be planted in the world, I'd be with it.
  15. Spawning money inside an interior has been incredibly unhealthy. If these faction labs were outside so that you could be interacted with by other gangs or law enforcement, I would support this. Locking yourself in your own private world for hours is not good for the server.
  16. I'm in favor of this, having the same lab for weeks sometimes seems rather boring and against the risk element meant for public labs.
  17. it probably stems from the fact that this is a video game and people want to have fun the in-depth and nuanced interactions that you speak of don't really work out in the vast majority of cases because the average person does not value their character's life the same way they do their real life, and that is okay
  18. I concur with Bala, an honor system unfortunately does not work -- I've had several very experienced players lie in /do recently about contents of their person and/or vehicle, in order to avoid arrest. I would not be opposed to hiding your weapon via script, if it took longer to take out versus just having it on your back.
  19. I think in roleplay it's important to take the good with the bad; sure, being robbed as a group of older people at labs is probably not the most realistic thing in the world, but neither is trying to outrun cops while roleplaying a pacemaker. Just have to make the best of it, and try to fit in your environment.
  20. going to labs in the current environment is the equivalent of flagging for pvp in an mmo, you're signaling to everyone else that you want to fight, and even if you run a large number of cars will chase you all over the map for a few plants and a .50 but that being said, shootouts are a big part of gta and as long as you understand what labs are, if you're not interested in that content, you can just ignore them. I don't see what harm they do as you're not forced to interact with them.
  21. I'd mitigate the issues by making an exception for low xp players. If a new player loses an AK it's a big deal, if a three year old community member loses an AK due to a rule break, it shouldn't be a big deal. I support this.
  22. You can not tackle people that are running away from you because everyone runs at the same speed in this game, you will simply fall behind them. It would work if you made cops faster than everyone else on foot, but that might not be ideal. If people wish for it to not be fear RP to run away from cops then I agree fully, with the condition that shooting them in the back is not DM. They can pursue IC avenues if they feel it was unjustified but if its DM to shoot them and its not fear RP to run at gunpoint then it just powergaming.
  23. This is probably the first time I agree with you, but I do not think removing the locations is realistic (i.e. will get implemented not realism argument) because of the amount of work that got put into all of the current private labs. I think the most achievable compromise is to allow placement everywhere while lowering the number of public labs active in rotation.
  24. The vast majority of the community agrees that there are too many player reports being made for less than ideal reasons; while this would not address all of them, it would remove the asset incentive from players that can realistically sustain that loss. If your character has more than 250k experience points, you can not make a refund requests for assets stemming from an accepted player report. 250k is quite a lot, and for the average player means that their character is six months to a year old, at that point, losing an AK or some drugs is more than recoverable, it also removes the "I'll report them just so I get my stuff back" attitude.
