  1. Development will not aid a mentality problem; updates should not be the reason why you're on a roleplay server, they will never be able to put up enough updates to satisfy script-oriented people. Make your own fun, preferably with friends and you will not need updates to enjoy your time here.
  2. If the VIP fuel consumption perk is removed, it needs a replacement perk or it will result in income loss for the community.
  3. I do think that having it tied to your phone is a good compromise. If your phone is on, you see ads as normal, if your phone is off, you don't see ads.
  4. I don't follow, at all. Deputy John Doe is chasing someone on a Shinobi. If the Shinobi has less gas, he has to return that Shinobi to a precinct, or else it will stop working. Criminal John Doe is chasing someone on a Shinobi. If the Shinobi has less gas, he has to go to a gas station, or else it will stop working. It is the same for both people, the only difference is that law enforcement gets their gas for free, which can be the topic of another suggestion, but, the fuel tank affects both equally.
  5. I don't understand how this suggestion can be turned into crim vs pd argument. Law enforcement uses the exact same bikes, which means they would also be "nerfed". Nonetheless, I think we should focus more on what's better for the health of the game.
  6. Hello. I believe that high performance motor-bikes currently have too generous fuel capacity and that it should be reduced in order to increase roleplay opportunities. A person driving without stopping for a very long time does not allow for emergent gameplay; but more stops at gas stations cycles money through the economy by spending it at the gas station and allows other players to roleplay with the person as they are refueling. I believe it would be an all-around improvement.
  7. This video has everything you'll need
  8. This is only an issue because it's a new feature. Give it a week, and if it's still there I think it should be considered, but this is how every new feature gets a lot of people.
  9. Do you believe that a cop searching you is the same as an enemy gang member robbing/killing you? Honest question.
  10. That is a different conversation entirely, if you want to discuss rehabilitation options, that feels wholly in-character and something that can be petitioned with roleplay to the Judicial Branch/Commissioners; but they are not dead, therefore new life rule has not been triggered.
  11. There seems to be a misconception in the post in that it's saying that going to prison is the same as being killed, this is not true. Going to prison does not trigger NLR.
  12. I think it would be healthier if we avoided viewing suggestions through the lens of crim vs pd, as otherwise it fosters negative feelings and group-think where it is "us against them". We are all one community, with one goal, and I do think that this suggestion could further that goal, even if slightly inconvenient. The fact of the matter is that I, as a law enforcement main, frequently switch radio frequencies on-duty for various reasons, and I would also be inconvenienced by realism, however, I would be willing to make a small compromise in favor of it.
  13. This is not a criminal roleplay only suggestion, the cops would also have the same action timer when they switch frequency.
  14. It is unrealistically easy to change your radio frequency at the moment. The missclick was an added benefit not the main point.
  15. Hello. I believe that there should be a 3 to 5 second action timer when switching radio frequency. I believe this will add to realism as changing your radio frequency while running would not be possible to do accurately and instantly. Furthermore, it will alleviate a big number of missclicks that happen when people try to put their hands up and instead hit a bind, which impacts RP scenarios.
  16. I think it's fair to say when people are legitimately getting themselves arrested to make money in prison, it is an issue. The jobs should not be removed, but the rewards should be dialed back drastically. Prison should not be something you choose to do for cash.
  17. I'm saying that if you choose to say there's a problem with that on the basis of realism, there are 101 other things that should also change, but aren't talked about. For example, realistically, if you use your car to commit a serious crime (such as bank robbery), that car should be permanently seized upon you being charged.
  18. It's not realistic to have a shootout on the beachfront of a major city in which they face little police resistance because there's not that many of them online. The realism can only be realism up to a certain point, and pushing for hyper-realism on one side while we still have shootouts in Del Perro in broad daylight, feels one-sided. There's a situation very recently where a large number of people drove to the Santa Monica Pier and executed a person there in broad daylight after holding twelve other people hostage. If that level of crime was happening in real-life, the national guard would be patrolling the streets with way heavier armor. Talking about realism in the context of the current daily law enforcement wipes by groups of people running around with fake swat helmets is disingenuous and disappointing to see.
  19. In regards to the fact that you pay for the armor, that is because you own the armor. The fact of the matter is that as a criminal you can do whatever you want to do with your assets. The car that you drive will more often than not appreciate in value tremendously (see Hakuchou Drag, Comet Retro), the interiors that you own can quite literally turn into a money printer, the weapons that you own can be re-sold for profit or used to rob others for their assets. Contrast that to what can a cop do with his assets? He can't even pull it out whenever he feels like, because there's an in-character rule telling him when he's allowed to do so. That is why you pay for the armor and he gets it for free. The notion that law enforcement has a huge advantage in terms of weapon selection has not been true for years. If we're talking about the new player that just scored a .50 at x10 the cost from a player that made profit selling his asset, sure, they will have an advantage over him. However, this thread is populated by extremely old players that have, and have used way better weapons than what law enforcement has available to them. A good number of people in this thread should remember how very recently 3-5 special carbines with full attachments were used to wipe law enforcement, and their armor didn't seem to help very much. Pretty much everyone in this thread should acknowledge the machine pistol, and how it quite literally melts anything in front of it, a criminal-roleplay exclusive weapon. The only tangible weapon that criminals do not regularly have access to is a sniper rifle, and even several of those were sold to criminal roleplayers. I think it's time to put to rest the notion that you are out-armed by law enforcement.
  20. I feel that every person in this thread is glossing over the fact that in the same video you see a small group of people fight and wipe law enforcement. Clearly the armor didn't help as much as the comments in the thread would lead you to believe.
  21. The fact that you end up doing the time immediately is exactly what most people want; The average person does not want a realistic reflection of this. The current implementation of the SAJB system is in favor of the criminal roleplayers and against realism due to the fact that it is a video game. What would happen realistically is if we catch Joe shooting at some cops, we would arrest him, put him in jail and he would sit there for a while until an (Assistant) DA would approve his charges, at which point he would sit there for months until a trial happened. We could go to that system tomorrow, it wouldn't even require script support, but I doubt most criminal roleplayers would want that. Every single charge that a cop places on your character is able to be appealed in two different levels, one, with the department via internal affairs, and two with JB. There are checks and balances that prevent you from being charged with things that you did not do; the point of contention is that some people feel that being charged accurately is somehow OOC toxicity. I find that notion to be faulty and one of a person that struggles to separate their character's feelings/well-being from their own.
  22. Properly charging someone with the crimes that they have committed is not an OOC punishment; unless you have some difficulties separating IC and OOC. If your character committed a crime, being charged for that crime can not possibly be an OOC punishment. If you believe that prison times should be lower, individual charge prison times should be lowered.
