  1. I specifically addressed the fact that the people involved put in a lot of work, that is not what is being contested. What is being contested is that very few people actually want to participate. If they did, you wouldn't need to bribe them with raffles.
  2. People are resistive to @Bala because it's not a comfy thought, we all like to pretend and advocate for ECRP being this beacon of high roleplay, but it is not. I agree with him, ECRP was at it's best when it was a light RP server focused on cop vs crim interactions. Everything that came after that was shoehorned and forced through with admin punishments and asset based rewards. I'm going to give some examples, but I want to make it clear, I am not bashing the people involved. I truly believe everyone that runs a faction, or an event for the server is trying to make it better. But. And this is a big but. I don't think the player base wants social roleplay or civilian roleplay. This is the same player base that was the happiest when you could say "flex your K muscle" (to unlock your car), this is the same player base that was happiest when you could give demands from moving vehicles. Is it any surprise that even faction services now rewards factions with assets based on behavior they consider good? You do what we want, we give you bigger guns. Because that's the goal of most players, not this imagined high roleplay standard. It's like "we gotta do some events so we can get ak imports" Have you ever noticed anything about the most successful civilian endeavors? They're not based in roleplay, they're based in assets. Bennys started with well known community members in Collie and Larry and they put a good amount of work in, but, if we're being honest, the other half of the reason why Bennys has so many employees is because its 90% gang members farming legal pay in between criminal activity. Have you seen the adverts for weazel recruitment? "come join the highest paying legal job" What about the peak of civilian roleplay, the event companies like Plague Inc? Jay Plague and his staff do a lot of work to organize them, but they do the raffles at the end because.. they know everyone is there for the raffle. It got to the point where even giving a free car wasn't enough, and after a bad turnout they started doing pick-up events at city parking to co-opt the people that are naturally there into winning a free car. Does that not say anything about what our player base wants? Assets and guns to shoot people with. Everything else is just forced upon them. I challenge anyone that disagrees to cut pay in legal jobs by 50%, and remove all raffles from civilian events, and then see how many people are attending them for the roleplay or social aspect. Personally, I think it's time we stop forcing people to act in a way that they don't want to act, and pretend this server will ever be what it will never be.
  3. Law enforcement is reactive in nature, in order for your suggestion to be viable, you would first need to limit criminal roleplay to a specific cap, and law enforcement would follow closely after/with that.
  4. I don't believe a clip from 2021 is representative of the issues faced by people in 2025.
  5. the vast majority of refund requests are because of dm and nonrp, not cheating, we can make an exception for cheating but we should remove ASSET incentives from player reports in a roleplay server, otherwise it sends a wrong message, that this is an asset based server where assets are king.
  6. They should be removed entirely, the only incentive to report someone should be to deal with a huge rule break. If you give people assets, of course they will overuse report system.
  7. I think it's important to remember that not only GND but law enforcement as a whole is reactive in nature, or more simply: you get what you give. GND, contrary to what you might hear is not made up of people that want to ruin your day, in the majority of cases they will just match your energy. For example, last night, Gang Detectives went to OTF HQ after there were reports of a large gathering there and when the gang members spoke to them normally, no citations were given, and some gang detectives even played dice with the gang members. Is that because the new F4 leader is an experienced criminal and old community member that knew how to interact with them? I don't know, but it's what happened. Remember, the people in that division are players just like you. They're here to have fun and don't always go full throttle.
  8. I think the issue of the pager shows a clear disconnect between the idea of law enforcement and the idea of the criminal roleplayers. The idea for law enforcement is to provide a deterrent that stops you from taking over the city and turning it into a failed state with gangs rolling around with heavies. After you page, it takes the average person about five minutes to connect, then they need to gear up, take a specialized vehicle and respond to wherever the situation is; I can tell you from experience that most come about ten minutes later, as they'll be afk, playing other games or whatever. If you are still in a static shootout with law enforcement ten minutes later, then your goal was not to get away but to wipe law enforcement and turn the server into civil war Syria, which is not a desired outcome. If we removed pagers tomorrow, we can replace them with: national guard staff members with admin duty on giving technicals and mounted weapons to metro/sed giving leos the gunships and/or 200 AP back I think people are missing the point, wiping law enforcement should not be happening on a daily basis, and if the pager is an issue, it will be replaced with something else.
  9. Leaving and joining something else is very different than leaving the server because of gang suppression.
  10. Even if they did leave, having people hold the server hostage with their playing status is silly. But either way, the gangs are still here, regardless of one or two people being not happy. Eclipse RP - GTA V Roleplay Server Panel
  11. you are mistaken.
  12. clear and properly communicated demands at a location that makes sense should allow people to shoot your character if you choose to flee them.
  13. At what point do we become GTA Online with no repercussions for being careless?
  14. There is something wrong in that it gives people an incentive to report others. This is a very asset driven server and you're telling people if you report someone you might get your losses compensated. If you see no issue then it is what it is, but I see a big one.
  15. Since you admitted it's a game, all that AI slop can be disregarded. It's unhealthy for the state of the game for people to have insane stockpiles with hundreds of guns, which is the current environment. I also think it's questionable to make a suggestion rooted in a bug.
  16. Guns can stop to jam if it only takes 100 bullets for it to reach 0 durability. Guns are too durable right now and are being held for years. Repair kits being temporarily bugged is not justification for any changes like this.
  17. Because a good amount of our player base does not care about the money. There were high level deals done at the faction level that were broken an hour later cause one of the factions just wanted to pvp and were looking for a reason, any reason. What you're saying works when everyone self-moderates and has rational interests; with unlimited stashes, people have no incentive to ever make peace, as pvp itself is the goal. This is more or less a different issue but it's very hard to be a moderate and somewhat realistic gang on ECRP; either you will never go to labs, mainly sit at your hq, do a bank every now and then and people will not have an easy reason to beef you OR You go to labs a few times until you catch the wrong kind of attention and then people will chase you and harass you all day looking for a reason to beef you, not for cash or anything other than "free guns".
  18. anything will be an improvement over the status quo, in my opinion -- the amount of baiting for demands that is happening at labs is disgusting
  19. I don't play crim, and yet I see it in every other report, the formula is the same every time. You see a gang that you're hostile to you holding a lab, so you send a person on a BF400 or a Gargoyle and you have them sit there / talk a bit of shit until they get pointed at -- from that point forward your gang can now KOS them and your hostiles can't do without being reported. It's not good RP, it's not a good environment. It's just rewarding ruleplaying under the guise of good RP.
  20. That just encourages and perpetuates this cycle of constant forum wars, because it encourages people to just bait "DM rights" or a forum report. If you can't react to someone driving away at gunpoint you're in a lose-lose situation, if you let them go, they can come back and KOS you now, if you don't let them go, they report you. If we're worried about people giving demands for stupid reasons? Make that fall under NonRP. Like robbing someone in a public place. If we're worried about copy-paste demands? Make it require VOIP or clearly showing a threat. I'm not talking about demands from bushes with /s, I'm talking about a rifle pointed at someone. But driving/running away at gunpoint is always a choice, and choices come with repercussions. If they don't want to get shot, they should surrender. I'm not saying put them under fear RP, I'm saying they should stop being protected by the server rules. I could link a lot of reports where someone clearly received reasonable demands, made a run for it, got shot, and it got ruled as DM. I don't think anyone can argue it's not happening. I think that choosing to make a run for it is fine, but so is getting shot for it.
  21. No, you brought up real-life and I showed you how in real-life cops can and will end your criminal career. Having a gun pointed at you momentarily is nothing compared to real-life repercussions. Don't bring up real-life as an argument if you are not ready for the full side of realism. Selective realism is for children or bad faith actors.
  22. If you are wanted in real-life police get a warrant and go to your house(s) to find you. If you use your vehicle in a crime or for profit, like drug smuggling or cooking, you can have it confiscated forever (look up asset forfeiture), not to mention California's 3 strike law, which ensures that after three violent felonies you get life in prison. Laws are different in-game versus real-life because of balance, if you want to argue realism, I can guarantee you that real-life cops are a lot more overpowered than what happens to you on ecrp.
  23. agreed, it was always weird that it used up the whole cloth
  24. -1 unless we remove ALL OOC corruption rules and cops can randomly charge you, arrest you and steal your things, since they are now paying for their equipment, they should use it the same way as crims do (doing whatever they want with it). obviously there can be IC repercussions but no more OOC enforcement.
