  1. Chopping provides you with cash not packed cash. ATMs are not scaleable therefore are not farmed for this purpose. 24/7s are annoying since they will give you 1000 different denonimations ($209, $230, $405, $450 etc) and they all need to be sold separately. In addition, bank robbery packs seem to provide a lot more influence compared to 24/7 packed cash. It is unclear if this is simply because of the amount (2k cap vs 3.5k avg), but all in all, it does mean that bank robberies the least inconvenient way to maintain your turfs.
  2. I will be the first one to agree that bank robberies are not in a good state, however, they are not being done purely for profit. Official factions require packed cash to maintain their turfs. It is upkeep, effectively forced and not a choice (inb4 don't hold turfs). The idea of having a staff member present for every single bank robbery would be great, if packed cash was no longer required to maintain turfs. Until such time that the system changes and provides official factions other means of obtaining packed cash, that suggestion is untenable.
  3. There aren't enough unique features regarding characters in GTA to tell them apart without an OOC crutch. Other servers get around this by being voice-only so you can combine their clothes with their voice, but we're a mixed server. I could go into character creation right now and make an identical clone of Solomon Cobb. I think that would be an issue without /alias.
  4. This is already possible through standard gta keybinds.
  5. Could avoid shootouts and focus on social roleplay, until you obtain better hardware. This game was released in 2013, it is not unreasonable to expect people to run it without messing with game files.
  6. I agree that it is important to the LSPD, and I've been on characters that used impound information extensively, however, it's importance to the LSPD can not come at the cost of negatively impacting everyone else in the server. There are more than enough officers to release vehicles in a timely manner, but it feels that the impound lot is very low on the list of things for officers to respond to; in short, you can not have your cake and eat it too, if it is very important, then it's staffing needs to be treated with priority.
  7. The notion that disabling shadows does not provide a competitive advantage is incredibly dishonest. It is one of the top recommendation in any sweaty game, from Escape from Tarkov to Siege. It increases visibility greatly, it's almost as if you are playing a different game. Additionally, sound modifications being possibility allowed does not speak for shadow removal being allowed. I agree that sound mods are an issue, however just because we have a bit of a bad thing doesn't mean we need to allow all sorts of bad things. This is a roleplay server, and for the most part, even in all parts, FPS should not be a concern. The chatbox is not affected by low fps; you can roleplay just as well with low fps as you do with high fps. The FPS only becomes a concern in shootouts or chases, which should not be the focus for playing on our server.
  8. My main complaint with the 2 hour cap in the past was that a person could shoot ten cops and then be around 2 hours later. Since the cap was raised a lot, I agree that doing the time offline is not an issue. That character is taken out of 'circulation' for a decent amount of time. There are no downsides to this. The people that wish to heavily immerse themselves into prison life, they can still do this, no one is forcing them to log off. The only thing this will change is people that will stay in prison will actually want to be there, and provide good RP. You will not get better RP by forcing people that don't want to be there, to be there. All you will get is people tabbed out or super aggressive because they are frustrated. +1 Everyone that is saying -1 because you believe this will 'kill DOC' do you really believe it would be better to have 10 people there that don't want to be there, at an OOC level or would you rather have 2 people that are choosing to stay there? Which group will provide you with better RP and less OOC grief?
  9. I don't think a lack of constant updates can kill a roleplay server that is based around roleplay. The issue is that a good amount of people seem to overly rely on script support for most things. The fact of the matter is that roleplay is supposed to be about imagination and creating scenarios, the script is more than capable of providing you with endless social interactions, violent interactions and even sexual interactions. I suggest looking at yourself and what you can do with what you have, rather than waiting for an update, because no matter how big the update will be, it will only keep you busy for so long, and then you will go back to waiting for the next update. Instead, try to have fun and positive experiences with what you have now, and when an update comes, it will be something extra on top, not the reason why you're playing.
  10. Big no. One of the best things about the new system is that you can actually leave a car/bike in a place for more than 10 minutes and it's not immediately stolen, as people are focusing on NPC vehicles. We're roleplaying in a first world country but sometimes the grind makes it seem like a lawless wasteland, and all of these recent changes helped with it. I would not like us to move backwards where your bike will be bobby pinned while you're inside a store to get water. -1
  11. People are not being banned for their 'type of roleplay', they are mostly being banned for their lack of roleplay. There used to be a playstyle that was very common in the past which was effectively running labs and fighting for the majority of the day, and then chilling for an hour before doing it again. That playstyle is not sustainable because to put it simply, you don't have a reason to shoot that many people that often, so you will end up looking for reasons, and that is when people end up breaking the rules. There are no major issues with the rules, nor the enforcement, it's an attitude issue. This is coming from someone that had an official gang during those times. That time is past, and it's never coming back. People that are still interested in criminal roleplay need to find other activities to take up their time other than shooting. Shooting has a place, but it should not be the main thing that draws you to criminal roleplay.
  12. The idea behind implementing it script-wise would be that the faster death would always happen in a scenario where it makes sense. Benefit or not, the shot person will still bleed out faster.
  13. I think that while the exact solution is debatable, we should all be able to agree that the current system of surviving most gunshot wounds without much doubts is an issue both in a realism way and in a game way.
  14. I believe this is a case of script limitation. The current animation for pushing the vehicle would not look good on bikes at all. @MrRabb unfortunately there is no "simply" making the character what you want it to do. You need to use one of the existing animations in GTA V.
  15. If people shot ended up succumbing to their wounds in the vast majority of cases, that would not be an issue, in my opinion. The act of succumbing to injuries following many bullet wounds is realistic, and comes with natural drawbacks in the form of NLR being activated and any assets present being lost. In regards to it removing roleplay, I disagree as well. There is a great opportunity for roleplay past medical/law enforcement roleplay. Coroners would have more bodies to use, and a paramedic can also do passive roleplay with a body, attempt to get pulse, etc. I would personally find it much more immersive if after a shootout most of the people end up dying rather than officers putting gauzes on them for 10+ minutes, or allies shoving them in trunks. Although I will agree this is a matter of preference, and the people against are not wrong, nor do I wish to imply that in any way.
  16. -1 I think it is unrealistic to operate a chop shop in complete silence.
  17. People that want to partake in that roleplay can ask to be teleported back and resume their medical RP.
  18. The current injured state is static, and that creates points of frustration during criminal interactions. As it stands, a player will have the same amount of time to receive medical treatment if they are punched to injury state, or if they are shot several times. The server features a wound system, which can be checked by all players, even the victim with /analysewounds, while the location is not perfect, as hitboxes are not perfect, it is more than up to the task and overall functional. My suggestion is that every two bullet wounds halve the time to death. The average person will take four to six shots to be put in the injured state which means that people shot will take around a minute and a half to bleed out, whereas people that get injured by traffic accident, punching, etc will still have the full five minutes to receive medical treatment. This suggestion is fair when considering both criminal and law enforcement roleplay as it would apply equally, it doesn't matter if it's a gang v gang shootout or a police vs gang shootout. You will still bleed out at accelerated rates.
  19. As long as the approval is following a standard and not just typed as the person doing the command feels like, it can be parsed by the script.
  20. As @SmushyTaco stated, this would be prone to abuse. Anyone could have a friend in a work vehicle just go past the toll over and over to pay their friend working at the booth. I would be in favor of an hourly pay for toll workers instead.
