Yes, that's good, that's perfect! Because that means you need to maintain your relationship with the contact. Right now, you can get yourself 1000 guns, keep them, and for the next 12 months just do nothing but fight the whole server. What do you care? If weapons decayed, you'd need to maintain a contact constantly that allowed you to restock. It forced you to have a decent relationship with FM/FS and possibly other groups. Right now there is no incentive.
-
All major conflicts back in those days happened because people got bored and it was time to push another faction out. It wasn't all bad, but let's not pretend or lie now, like six years later.
-
Can you spell out more clearly what your suggestion is? Do you want the script to stop people from equipping heavies unless they're in a certain tier faction?
-
this isn't for realism, this is so people with massive stashes still have an incentive to interact with the systems meant to moderate them, right now if you have a massive stash you have zero reason to listen to fm/fs, other gangs, or do anything but whatever you want.
-
Whatever benefits it provides to law enforcement, it creates a situation where you have no incentive to do anything but PVP. It's like spawning in a CSGO DM server, you have unlimited guns and ammo, so you use them. If gangs needed other gangs to get weapons, or if they needed to be on good terms with FS to keep getting a steady stream of weapons, you'd find that they'd be much more receptive to diplomacy and less likely to shoot everyone. I can name at least ten criminal roleplayers that could never import another gun for the next six months and still have enough to shoot once a day. If you don't think that's a problem, or the sign of a flawed system on a roleplay server, we'll agree to disagree.
-
Guns should decay aggressively in people's stashes. This means FS has more control over faction as they need to maintain at least a relationship with cartel or risk losing their weapons. As it stands, people with huge stashes have nothing to lose from fighting EVERYONE including staff. Cause even if you remove their imports, they got enough for years.

I think people are providing half-solutions to their problems. A number of players have suggested that law enforcement no longer use pagers. Let's say that happens and pagers are banned today. What happens when a certain gang or another decides to shoot cops when there's only 6 cops connected to the server? National guard? Staff team on admin duty? FAAA with attack helicopters? What should be the thing that stops you from wiping all cops at that time? Unless you just want it to be nothing?
-
I think that what you're saying is a good direction to perhaps go towards, but the implementation is wrong if you want to see any change before GTA VI. The vast majority of experienced criminals in official factions have extraordinary stashes that currently suffer no decay and no penalties for excessive hoarding. I know for a fact of at least several individuals that have over 100 class 2s and more than 50 body armors, them personally. So any changes like that would do nothing, this is assuming that they do not get any from robbing other people (which they do) as well. If you want to make a meaningful change, I think the realistic approach is to adjust law enforcement weapons to bring them back towards 2019 era loadouts, but also make all guns in the server decay aggressively, and lower import prices by at least 50%. This is to discourage stockpiling and encourage more cooperation with FM and maintaining good relations. Think about it, in the current environment someone could join a gang, like Rooks or Lost (only naming them cause they're the oldest), stick with them for a couple of months, stockpile hundreds of guns and thousands of bullets, then, go on a rampage with very little check and balances, because FM mainly use imports as a reward/repercussion. So then what is the incentive for <insert new gang name> to be on good terms with anyone or anything? It's zero. What if their guns only lasted for a week? Suddenly there is a strong incentive to have friendly organizations that supply them with stuff, and a good relationship with FM in order to eventually get that ability themselves. The current system directly goes against that, with guns as old as Zetas still being in circulation today.

A Call for Balance: Addressing LEO Overreach and RP Disparities on ECRP

how many of those are connected when a certain gang decides to shoot up legion square at 2 AM UTC? -
1. Cops can change it by becoming frozen scrolling through a long menu, taking a long time in a shootout while a crim can just drag a fresh body armor in the slot, instantly; the only downside is that they pay for it. 2/3. You misunderstood my post. It's not that you're not meant to win easily, you're not meant to win full stop. Winning for the criminals shooting the cops should be getting away, not successfully wiping all law enforcement on the server. If you start wiping DOC, there will be more factions called, because you simply shouldn't have that as your goal, and I don't understand how this is not already clear.
-
I'll tell you what changed, you got what you asked for; gangs now have 200 AP readily available to them but cops only have 150 AP. Gang now have MG MK IIs and cops do not. Gangs are better armed and armored than cops, and guess what they do with that? they fight cops. Just like you said you wouldn't when you asked for cop loadout nerfs. If you don't want DOC to come, it'll be National Guard and if it's not National Guard, it'll be Air Force, whatever, the point is that you should not be able to routinely wipe all law enforcement on the server, as has been happening the past week or so. DOC doesn't just sit in their Kamachos ready to be called by PD/SD. They have to deploy, get in CERT loadouts and stuff. If you're still at the place where you wiped most of PD/SD 15 minutes later when DOC arrives. What are you doing? What are your goals? To just keep shooting until there's no one left to shoot?

A Call for Balance: Addressing LEO Overreach and RP Disparities on ECRP
alexalex303 replied to Koji96's topic in Discussions
You can ask them to help you evade, they can drop off a bike for you, and it has been done before. The issue comes when you want them to shoot with you, and that's when it's no longer helping you evade, but helping you wipe all law enforcement on the server. -
Staying banned on ECRP is very hard, in fact, just from history I know several people that replied to this thread were banned and unbanned several times over. Any person that is never welcome back has done some proper questionable things like cheat or dox people. I would not want them back.

The license automagically shows up in your pocket when the time expires, don't even have to do a command.

It was actually mainly criminal roleplayers that had concerns about people being left out. If for example you had seven members online but the rules only allow six to commit crime, one person is relegated to sitting at hq / doing stuff on their own. It's the same way on FiveM but it was a dealbreaker here apparently.
-
It's pretty straight-forward, water in RAGE MP has major sync issues with people teleporting, failing to show animations (even shooting) properly and creates all sort of issues. If you are being chased by anyone, cops, gangs, anyone, or anything, you should not be able to swim away from them. You can still use boats and water vehicles for elaborate escapes, but should avoid swimming as the primary means of getting away from people.
-
FiveM was bought out by Rockstar, the developers of the game, of course they're going to have more players and better, they're first class citizens. There are more players playing FiveM right now than we've ever had accounts created. If you adjust your lens to a more comparable one, and compare us with all other RAGE MP servers, you will find that we're the most successful VOIP RP server. The only realistic competition is text-only.

I think it's baffling how a group of players have started to echo the notion that the player base in 2021 was so high not because literally the entire world was in lockdown which saw monumental increases in all gaming and recreational activities, because people had nothing to do and were locked inside. Adolescents’ Recreational Screen Time Doubled During Pandemic, Affecting Mental Health | UC San Francisco Microsoft Word - 24.docx The drop in the player base is not because an imagine slight to a part of the population, but due to all of those people going back to work, or school. Even a game backed by Activision Blizzard and their gargantuan budget with Warzone, a free to play game, could not retain its peak player base. It's not an issue with the game, it's an 'issue' with real-life taking priority. In fact, as of right now, with the FM team and recent changes, this is probably the most active criminal scene we've had ever. I was leading an official criminal faction in 2021, and I can tell you for a fact we did not have 21 active criminal factions on the server then; but we do now; If you still find yourself lacking in people to roleplay with, or activities to do, perhaps consider if you focus too much on PVP and this makes other groups not want to interact with you.

Do you believe that an LEO shooting your character and injuring it is not roleplay?

Some of my gripes with PD on this server
alexalex303 replied to penguinkibble's topic in Discussions
You missed his point. It's not something that was obtained through IC means but is being used as an IC advantage. If you are fine with that, then you should also be fine with cops using personal Niobes to chase you. I don't necessarily agree with that, but that was the point. Not something about grinding for assets. -

Make things "bearable" or less "unbearable" for the mortal crims
alexalex303 replied to Harveyyy's topic in Discussions
I find any complaint about high-speeds to be made in bad faith as long as the Niobe and most other HSW vehicles continue to exist and perform at their curent level. No amount of Jugulars compensates for that. Watch 20secondsoritsfree | Streamable -
Outside of a few people that owned dealerships for years, I reckon the average old time criminal has more assets than a legal character. Just some stashes I've personally seen are worth like 3 years of working a legal job. Yes, it's steady money and yes you don't have as many sinks but in most cases you're making 6k an hour. That's nothing, you make more doing bus route.

[DISCUSSION] Sexual Harassment and Gross Roleplay
alexalex303 replied to Bala's topic in Discussions
I think this is a symptom of a bigger issue: most people do not roleplay characters on this server. I've personally heard people state "what character, I just say what I want to say". It would be easier to dissociate if it was truly your character being hit on rather than the person behind the screen, but that is simply not the community that we have -- take for example any player with a female character that does not use their mic, or that has a different than expected voice. The reactions will be wildly different, even though, that is the exact same character they were before. I don't necessarily have a solution, but I do think that any solution should keep in mind the fact that most comments are addressed at the person behind the screen, and not their characters -- and that will make people uncomfortable.- 45 replies

It's very hard to improve intent and very easy to say you did it by accident/miscalculated/etc
