  1. i think you'd have to ask in the other forum section "Transfer Requests", but i don't know if you'll be granted the house. if the player is perma banned usually they put the house back on the market.
  2. not that it's any excuse but that video was from June 10th, less than 4 days after bank robberies came out. during that time banks were being hit every minute they came off cooldown on a constant rotation (i mean even in the video, you can hear that the next store will be up at 4:30 EST, meaning I'm sure you guys were planning on hitting that as soon as it was up). I know that in my experience that we were told to patrol more heavily around banks at that time. that officer may not have necessarily camping it, but rather checking inside that the clerks were not on the floor or whatever. I speak from personal experience and say I don't camp banks, or stores, mainly just enforce mask laws . As for the suggestions go, I disagree with the suggestions about the items being lootable off of a cop. You'll have some (not all, not all, not all) criminals targetting single man PD units every opportunity they get to score free pistols, tasers, armor, + whatever else that PD person has on them. - More clear rules or clarifications for LEOs. ( As a crim, i can't ram a Ingot (4 door saloon) in a contender, but a cruiser can boot me off the road while im in a Kamacho? o.O ) I always think that there should be clarification for rules. There should be clear examples, and plain text about what should and what shouldn't be allowed. There should never be any grey areas in a situation where someone could potentially be banned if they swerved left instead of right in a situation where the rules are too vague. However, PD has some of the clearest cut rules on the server, they have the strictest enforcement, can be punished ICly for OOC behavior (for instance, a player in PD can be booted if they get a punishment on their alt or something). So while I agree with you, I think you also miss the mark a little bit, it's not a PD issue I don't think. Unless you want to clarify a little bit more/ - A limit to the amount of members a legal faction can have. Numbers difference right now is a bit much. I agree that the limit should be bumped up for official factions, only because this is more realistic to real life. IRL there are a few gangs that dominate certain areas, and then there are smaller gangs that run in those same areas at the same time. I don't see why there should be an ooc limit on joining a gang at all, it should be completely IC imo. Why in the world is there any OOC influence to the size of IC gangs? If there are 3 main gangs that dominate the city, why not let people join those gangs if they wanted too? - Lower prison times, on no planet is it fun to be a full time criminal and spend 6+ hrs in prison at 1 given time. I'm probably in the minority of PD here but I agree with this. I understand that criminals choose the RP they do, and know the consequences for their actions could mean that they face x amount of hours in prison + x amount of money fined from them, but it's ridiculous. Prison RP is almost non existent in my experience aside from being brought in. The fact that you could log in with the intention of RPing all day, only to get caught doing a store robbery or something, and then have the rest of your day to sit in an AFK box isn't right. Some players can only play a small amount of time each day/week/month, and even though they chose that RP they shouldn't be punished so harshly for it. I'd be all for reducing prison sentences across the board by a ridiculous amount, like 50% or something. If prison RP changed and you could actually work toward leaving early by mining or whatever, at a reasonable pace then I'd say fine keep the prison times as they are. Prisoners should be rewarded for actively RPing while in prison, by being able to be released earlier (like 50% earlier, if they're mining, or sweeping or whatever there is to do in prison these days). I'd love to discuss more, and am totally willing to change my POV's on any of those points if anyone would like to discuss.
  3. Welcome, mate! Hope you have fun and stick around, this server has a lot of great opportunities for RP and you'll meet some real cool people on here.
  4. +1 if it truly is the case that you can just google all the quiz answers. As a cop in my experience almost all new player encounters are unpleasant. They don't read chat, mix IC and OOC, and generally just troll/break rules. Obviously we have to teach the new players how to play the server if they're new to RP but most of the time it's just people that joined the server to troll around in.
  5. Yeah, definitely reasonable for specific RP scenarios such as ERP or maybe like some other kind of RP where you need consent (like torture/kidnapping or whatever). I think if youre streaming on twitch and engaging in that type of RP, that all parties should be informed that it's being broadcasted. In cases where you're at the bank or something, or engaging in regular everyday RP it's probably not feasible to inform everyone that they're being livestreamed, but in niche situations like that it would be nice to be informed. +1
  6. @Darius Bivins Credit to @Phil McGee for the video
  7. Excellent points made, bring back turfs, remove faction caps for official factions that are displaying proper RP standards. Make criminal RP worth-while and fun so that if a player is spending 4+ hours in a non-afkable jail which contains little to no RP and players essentially just leaving their PC running with GTA on in the background while tabbing in every 10 minutes or so for the afk timer. I understand the point of the new robbery rule, but as you said, now the whole city is a NCZ except for very niche areas where you won't find anybody. +1, I hope the founders consider this thread when moving forward with criminal RP. We know this is an RP server, we know we don't want this server to be a total cops and robber server, but we also don't want to be restricted on every little piece of criminal RP that there is. I mean honestly, what do you even say to someone who asks to be recruited to your gang now that it is full? "Sorry man, we don't recruit new gang members because of the new city law," or something along those lines lol? As you stated in the original post, OOC rules are reaching wayyyy too far into IC matters to the point where you're almost metagaming by your character acting so wildly different then what they normally would act like.
  8. With that rule they're trying to promote better RP. You say IRL if someone took your belongings that you would shoot them immediately. Firstly, I don't believe that you would do that. Secondly, this isn't the kind of RP that they want on the server. Rules aren't being made up on the spot, if you shot someone for stealing something worth 5k, then that is too small of a reason to outright kill someone with no other interaction. 5k worth of stuff is like an hour worth of work (assuming you're doing the bare minimum and being slow). Really? If you had your phone in your hand and some petty thief quickly snatched it and ran away, would you execute them on the spot? Of course not. Don't get me wrong, you should definitely try to get your belongings back but you should do it the right way. If someone snatches your crate off the ground in front of you, pull out your gun and aim at him and tell him to drop it, or RP with him in someway other then just shooting him dead for stealing a crate with low value in it.
  9. +1, high quality post with lots of effort put forth. I especially like this idea: please for the love of god make drugs worth while besides selling them.
  10. Just as the above poster said, it's meant to give a realistic description of your wounds so that you can RP them properly. Death RP isn't always granted but can be granted if all the parties involved agree to it. The reason that this is the case is because if anyone could choose to RP death rather then go to jail for X amount of time then they will always choose death over jail RP.
  11. yeah i definitely see where you're coming from and I'm not even a player who does the whole "Hands up this is a robbery" type RP. I 100% don't think that what you did should be against the rules. It seems like everyone is taking the rule literally to a tee that you can't do any robberies in public, when that just should not be the case. Honestly, if you're not allowed to rob someone at 10:30PM in the middle of a rural area with no one around, then where would you be able to aside from the woods or some obscure shit like that. Why are store robberies still allowed if what you did is against the rules lol? Just remove /grabcash and delete the shopkeeper. I mean I know that you robbed a real player, but still the point stands, if you're in such a high populated area, then why are any stores allowed to be robbed at all. They are the literal definition of high risk, low reward. You get maybe a few hundred $ for a potential huge sentence EDIT: excellent points made by @Ryzoft I would definitely make an appeal if you got in trouble for this. From day one of this rule break I knew that it would lead to situations like this where the rule is so ambiguous that you could get in trouble for something that you shouldn't have gotten in trouble for. It should be reworded, or at least explained better.
  12. I'm open to changing my mind on this but what everyone else is saying doesn't invalidate the OP's points. It's 10:30 PM in game time. That means that there will be a small amount of people on the roads/in the area because people will be in bed or at home. He's in an already rural part of the map which would also reduce the amount of people on the roads. He's fully masked up and unidentifiable and has found someone alone in the dark with not a lot of people around IMO, that's the exact type of environment we should be robbing in. I took the new rule to mean that we can't rob someone at mid-day in a clothing store because that would be totally unrealistic (lots of people around, and in an already crowded area during peak times. If not here, then where can people do this kind of roleplay?

+1 high quality post with lots of effort put forth into it.
  14. Mostly a good thing, but like others said - who is to constitute what a populated area is? Rules really shouldn't be ambiguous imo. Like Aldari saying that it's meant to be vague isn't really an acceptable answer for a player who could receive a permanent ban for robbing someone in a place that the player may think isn't populated, but an admin disagrees with them. it's definitely important to use your own judgement during RP as he/she/they said, however, we've seen in the past that players using their own judgement led to mishaps (think before NCZ's were marked on the map for instance; or when the fear RP rule changed; or when the VDM rule was changed; or when the KoS rule was changed. all of those rules have been further clarified after dozens of rule breaks took place which led to players being punished). Something that should be added to that rule is that the time of day could effect it, for instance, if a player robs you walking down the road in the middle of the day thats non-rp. but if a player robs you when you're walking down the road at 3AM, then that wouldn't be considered non-rp. Definitely a needed rule, just wish it was worded better/wasn't so ambiguous, even though that was the intent of the rule.
  15. yeah i havent seen anyone do anything in prison except afk but have to be at their computer so they dont get kicked for afk. the prison update that was supposed to introduce better rp to the prison kinda flopped because nobody wants to RP mining ore to take 15 seconds off their sentence every 5 minutes. also haven't ever seen any prison guards interact with prisoners outside of booking them which is shitty.
  16. preach. i'm walking on fucking egg shells every time an rp situation arises where i have to use my gun. it's like, i feel like im within my rights (RP wise and rule wise) to shoot this player, but is it even worth it to shoot my gun, knowing there's a chance it may end up on the forums? i feel you.
  17. This is exactly right. Players new to RP are much more likely to get several punishments in the first month of playing and then a year down the line they'll catch a non-rp for something small and then get permanently banned preach Big +1 Like @Phil McGee and @CaesarSeizure are saying, a player can essentially get hit with a DM charge on his first week, then be a great and active RP'er for the next year, and then perma banned if they get hit with another DM. Totally agree with Phil's sentiment in the regard that if you play X amount of hours without a punishment, that the previous punishment be either voided or not weigh as much for the next punishment.
  18. yeah i hear you, that's pretty shitty. Osvaldon said on the discord that you will receive compensation for any of your properties when they get sold, so check if you got that compensation maybe. the only way your properties would have been deleted is if you haven't played longer than 30 minutes in the past month, so you couldn't have been too active. everyone who had houses that got sold are pretty frustrated just like you are. it sucks, but it kind of needed to happen so that new players get an opportunity to get a house. it definitely sucks. retarded statement. person spent hours and hours of their life to get something, they have the right to be upset if it's taken without warning.
  19. yo jesus mate, don't spill your guts to everyone. did your shit get deleted because you were inactive for over a month? you can't expect to buy properties and then never play the server again, essentially holding those properties hostage, there was nearly no properties available on the market and tons of new people homeless due to people that bought properties and then haven't played in months. everyone goes through tough times, you'll make it through. keep your chin up
  20. This is an essential part of your topic, and what you just said is exactly my point. In game you don't experience recoil because you're in third person, its a matter of just clicking left mouse button while pressing W. It's exactly why there is no shooting out of the vehicle currently in the game. EDIT: accuracy isn't a factor due to in game mechanics being far easier to manage then how it would be in real life. I actually agree that you should be able to shoot out of the drivers seat of the vehicle, but while moving at very very low speeds or stopped. You should 100% be able to shoot your pistol/uzi while stopped if you're the drive of a vehicle, and maybe lower caliber guns if you're moving slowly.
  21. you absolutely would not be able to shoot a 50 caliber pistol accurately with one hand while driving and maintaining speed.
