More weed farms/bring back more drugs
Quietthecutie replied to Smoke1's topic in Criminal Suggestions
the server pop hasnt gone up drastically this year. why would more weed need to be made available? unless you wanna lower the spawns of the current 4-5 places to make room for a 6th and 7th? -
More weed farms/bring back more drugs
Quietthecutie replied to Smoke1's topic in Criminal Suggestions
Hold up. 1. I highly doubt indoor growing would be permitted for the same reason cooking isnt permitted. People just afk in their properties does not make an active server. 2. Arent all of the original growing locations for weed (sealabs, holeinthewall, braddocks, island etc.) Dont they still grow weed regardless of if the lab is active? So why does it matter if there are different labs active if you can still just gather the weed there your point dosent make any sense. -
remove the "5 cops need to be on duty"
Quietthecutie replied to Teenyinnit's topic in Criminal Suggestions
What youre asking for, is for there to be basically no cops on to respond to your crime. this simply isnt doable. for all your claims of realistic organised crime, IRL crime forces still have detectives and undercovers and duty cops around the clock. we, as a RP server, just dont have that because people have irl jobs they need to be responsible for lol. If someone tried to steal an ATM in the dead of night IRL, you can bet the farm there would still be an appropriate response from law enforcement. they wouldn't just be able to get away with it because most people are asleep at that hour. -
Actually a very reasonable point. Its also worth nothing that theres nothing stopping you rply blindfolding a player. This has been done in the past and it rply blocks the person from relaying any visual information they saw from the moment the blindfold goes on, this of it as NLR rule but just for the eyes and if the person lives.

Honestly for 90% of interactions, I think we are overthinking this. it should be self evident that someone is about to be cuffed, and that is entirely dependant on the situation that the arrestees IC actions puts them in. if you have been naughty, and you see a cop move behind you, then you should expect to be cuffed. you do not need a 3 2 1 go to resist. Now in most cases that involve a cuffing, this will be on an arrest, or an evasion aftermath or some other controlled scene where its clear you are about to get cuffed. even for street arrests I will say to the person before I cuff them "ok sir/maam i will at this point be arresting/detaining you." as this is just good roleplay. what I will not currently do is /me tries to cuff. because the act of me telling them that they are under arrest or detained already explains the situation to them if its not already immediately self evident, such as if they have just tried to evade. in which case I will go just go for cuffs. Once again, we used to have mandatory "/me tries to cuff" RP because there didn't used to be a minigame. and the resisting part of the cuffing and how that was handled was up to the arresting LEO. sometimes they would dice for it or provide RP as to weather or not the person could run off, and sometimes they would just say "NOPE" and cuff them anyways. Now we have the minigame. so it is no longer the LEOs call, its down to the crim and their skill to shake off the cuffing through the minigame. a minigame you already get 2 attempts at and the skillchecks are not that hard. fast but large success zones. So in short, as I said, what you're looking for is a rework or a revert back to the old system of it being RP based and not skillcheck based. otherwise its just a skill issue if youre asking for a countdown for the minigame.

Interactive Bag/Briefcase/Crate in Inventory
Quietthecutie replied to Vitaly Gorbachev's topic in Game Suggestions
i agree it would be handier. perhaps if only certain items, not including heavy weapony can be pulled from the side inventory. Like say, clothing items, food, small tools can be pulled from a bags side inventory. but bigger items like heavy weapons, car parts or furniture you have to drop the bag to pull it. -
Old Bayview used to have this little outdoor coned/barriered area for small repairs/washes. same design, compact, would easily fit into one of the new bays or one of the many many empty lots in Sandy.
-
+1 dosent have to be anything fancy, a few barriers, some buckets and sponges and a wash vehicle marker, one in sandy, one in paleto. Easy.

remove the "5 cops need to be on duty"
Quietthecutie replied to Teenyinnit's topic in Criminal Suggestions
LEO management does try to create a spread of staff to cover all timezones (this is why they ask what timezone you are in.) however its not always feasible. If a person is in a highly sought after timezone they still have to meet all the requirements, pass training etc. Ultimately most of the servers players are from NA/EU so there will always been those pockets of inactivity where its very late night or morning for both regions. -
I can see the logic in the suggestion, but the execution is an entirely different matter. Setting aside how the consequences would be enforced (and i cant see any decent way that dosent involve case by case admin involvement) it would immediately get metagamed. suddenly people would be causing a ruckus at labs not to try and push and take them over but to simply get them shut down because the last people to cook on them were from a gang they dont like, and a cartel consequence would be a bigger kick in the balls than any single druglab L. The server already has a problem with crims calling 911 to rat on other organisations activities and this would exasperate that further as well. In summary i think the result would not be what you want. crims would just start to flat out avoid certain labs altogether because they are simply too risky to sack cartel favour for trying to run.

Repairing a car you have perm keys to thats not yours
Quietthecutie replied to Midorina's topic in Implemented Suggestions
Been suggested a dozen times. already heavily +1ed, either its a script limitation, its on the todo list, or the devs have decided it would be bad for the balance of the server. -
Honestly i think the mosst effective way to get people back playing poker is re-allowing weazel to advertise it. even if its only in their new "text message notification" way. The biggest problem people seem to be having is that there is no way to tell if someones playing poker other than running in and checking. even with tequilala after the ability to post ads was removed it was pretty evident when there was a game on because no one parked there unless they were playing poker. With the new location being inside diamond people could be parked inside for any number of reasons. so people dash down, check, see no one around, curse the sun and then go do something else. in any given hour maybe 5-10 people who wanted to play poker does this but they all miss eachother, because they cannot post ads to let people know.
-
I'm not entirely sure why the ability to advertise poker was removed but this was prior to the casino update. and I would be down to see that portion of the suggestion done and it be reverted. Asking for the poker script or casino to be reverted is kinda naiive. devs put alot of work into making the new casino a reality and they wont just walk it back. simple as that.

Im not entirely against the main suggestion here. that being said phone tracking is not something every cop can do. infact only a select few are able to do so and only with good reasoning. Next would be a question of counterplay. the thing about removing/swapping plates is PD/SD have the counterplay of carrying out traffic stops, checking VINs, all that. so while yes, the crim has a way to counter plate scanning they still run a risk of getting nabbed for not using correct plates if they get pulled over. with your sim card idea i dont see the counterplay and it would make phone tracing (which again, cant be done by 90% of cops and without good reason) irrelevant. theres already a very easy way to circumvent phone tracing. As for the LEOs OP part of the suggestion, particularly the part where our cars are faster than most vehicles, thats catagorically untrue. most police vehicles, particularly regular patrol ones top out their speed between 175-200. easily within the range of civilian cars crims commonly evade in and by no means better. the only exceptions to this are vehicles like the shinobi, Jugular, specialised interceptors which can only be deployed in limited numbers during a high speed chase. the same vehicles which are again, incredibly common vehicles for crims to use to evade in. and LEOs also have to go back to a station and deploy them wheras you start your evasion in whatever car you please. The amount of your average LEOs day that is spent watching Drags, Niobes, Paragons etc fly by at 240 and us being pretty helpless to stop them is the side of the story you dont see. Crims OP? no. thats just part of the game. the cat and mouse of Crims getting away vs LEOs deploying and getting the specialised units where they need to be. and even then Crims still have a chance to evade, take tires, bike drop, block and obstruct, LEOs still have to get it right and stop you. Taking Ls suck and I get that but its important to realise there is another side of this story. that said its been a while since we have had a good old fashioned "cops OP" post in the forums so im looking forward to some real stimulating conversation here.

Sounds reasonable, slightly boring for the blindfolded player but so long as they are used properly they could be fun.

Hi and welcome! This server adopts a "find out ic" style. to most things. BUT thats not to say you cant get OOC help while in game. if you find yourself in a situation where youre not sure whats expected of you (like say an arrest, or medical RP, or you just cant find the right anim) feel free to ask a quick question in game oocly by using /b. for example "/b how do I put my hands up?" and someone in the scenario will be more than happy to help you. As for general roleplay. a good rule of thumb for beginners is to react to any given situation as you would IRL. find someone unconscious in the street? call an ambulance. dance party? grab a drink and break it down. someone offers to sell you drugs? well...that depends on your character and what direction you want to take it! There are some essential rules you want to make sure you have a good understanding of, such as New life rule, Fear RP rule, Deathmatching rules. all of their definitions can be found on our rules page and are fairly straightforward. like i said, so long as you act as you would expect someone to do IRL, you wont be far off the requirements of the server. Theres plenty of guides on the forums and you can /report 1 in game to ask a staff member a question. Welcome to the community!

Small suggestion but an annoying one for any LEO trying to type. the mini MDCs position currently blocks your typed textbox. could we move it down a smidge? https://imgur.com/a/sRg36rM

The gov website is sorely in need of an update. its easily the most outdated part of the ECRP experience. having to have separate accounts and email addresses for each character is at best tedious and at worst, maddening, BBCode is ancient and formattings tough unless you are REALLY good with it. I understand that the old girl is carrying alot of baggage, and perhaps a total rework is unrealistic, but I would at least like to see some polish added to the to-do list.

Its not an OOC tone, Prison breaks do happen and they can be quite fun. I believe one happened quite recently there were posters up everywhere, but they require ALOT of RP prepwork and Admin approval. this isnt just because of script limitations either its kind of core to how ic crime and punishment works. Your reaction to going to DOC should never be "oh boy now the fellas can try to spring me." DOC is the ic consequence of committing crime. The reason admin approval is required for the altRP of prison break is because its something that should be super rare, only committed when DOC have enough guards to sufficiently react to it, and only when staff deem enough prepRP has went into it. Regular bus trips for inmates to ostensively work but in reality are just going to look for the first chance to run are not it. Particularly seeing as most inmates will keep sprinting even with a gun trained on them, basically ruleplaying the scenario because they know DM rules mean the guard cant actually fire anything but a taser. it would be a shitshow. To resummarise, I agree that DOC is stale and more activites should be added to make it more fun, but those activities should remain within DOC, not being a chance to leave DOC.
-
This was suggested a while back, as a sort of, drive inmates in a bus to a location to litter pick type deal. It never went anywhere. probably because it would be a nightmare to moderate. inmates would run off constantly, crims driving by would try to get them in their cars, bystanders would gawk and talk shit, the responses would be all over the place, in extreme cases the buses would be a gang target and no actual work would get done. Second problem, DOC would need to have enough officers online to facilitate this. think visitation. while its technically a part of DOC RP and it sometimes does happen, more often than not there are simply not enough officers online. a bus carrying say 8 inmates would require at least 4 DOC officers to be relatively secure. 4 officers who are now no longer at DOC. Im down for the RP and i do sorely agree DOC needs more variety in activities besides running around the cell block and yard picking stuff up, but I dont think the server is currently ready for this.

This is a very interesting idea and could use some exploration, but I agree it would be metagamed like heck.

Still leaves you wide open to multiple scenarios. IDs are used in reports mostly when the scenes are fast, fluid, and you dont know who the reported party is. Example: Im walking down the street and outa nowhere someone rams me for no reason, and runs over me again, VDM rulebreak right? but he floors it before i can hit /report and now i have no way to identify him even if i saved my POV. The current ID system is not great for immersion, but it is vital for the reports system that keeps people accountable and on balance i believe thats more important.
