thesilentwrath
make it so criminals can import illegal car mods we can use on our car to make them faster, but if the car is impounded or totaled/chopped all of the illegal aftermarket mods are lost. This mods also won't be cheap, they should cost any where from 50-100k a piece. The only way to import them is through the black market. They can be an on use item like a charger on your car, ofc you gotta RP install it some how if you know the right people who work at a mech shop and pay them of or if you rply know how to work on cars. Maybe we can even have illegal cosmetic car mods??? 5
TonyRizzo
+1 Especially now that the Wanted are official, giving them something they can RP specializing in would be cool, not to mention giving crims in general something fun to play with 1
Mopop
Even though IG I work at LSC I know little about cars. What kind of illegal modifications can you do to a car IRL? Only thing I know is you can make your window tint too dark (I had to go over court over that FML)
Victor Einhart
There's already hydraulics on some cars, and depending on what state you're in neon lights are also illegal (the reason being some people install flashing blue or red lights which can confuse the public into thinking the vehicle is law enforcement). The only other thing I could see being added is some kind of nitro injection system, but since that feature was cut from GTA V it would have to be added either with a mod or scripting. We could increase the enforcement of the already existing illegal mod law to cover more things like dark tinted windows and neons (hydraulics are already enforced) but that really depends if people want to actually go for that. Asiantator
Theres a whole bevy of illegal car mods. But it depends on the state you live in. Since San Andreas is loosely based on California a good portion of the current "Legal" mods would actually be illegal. California performs safety and emissions inspections. To this end most mods you can do in other states are not able to be performed. However, there are some you can still do legally. CARB certified air filters and intakes and, if memory serves, a handful of cars that can receive CARB turbos, high flow cats, ethanol fuel are just to name some of the few "legal" mods. In game the turbos would cause a vehicle to fail emissions testings, Straight pipes, engine swaps, certain exhaust exit placements are all illegal. In terms of general, or illegal roughly everywhere, Nitrous Oxide Injection and Methanol Injection are both classified as Illegal. While yes many people have NO2 in their vehicles the bottle needs to be turned off, and in some states completely disconnected from the system. Things like ride height as well can make a vehicle illegal, race fuel or additives like C16. Even tire choice can be illegal. Drag radials are partially legal. Illegal in some states while legal in others, and slicks as well.

I don't think this would actually be a good idea. Many people already take exception to the "No mask in public" law even tho it is a realistic law. This would just add one more thing for trolls to B&M about/ copbait.

Aldarine
-1 We don't need cars to go faster and we definitely don't need old beat up cars to have NOS installed. Hell, if anything we need people to not bolt through the streets for absolutely no reason.
