Missing Vehicles and "1 of 1s"

Recommended Posts

So, it's no secret that there currently is a fair amount of vehicles from GTA missing on the server. Obviously some of these should never be implemented onto ECRP (Oppressor MkII and stuff) and I feel like a big step forward would be adding more of the remaining list of currently missing vehicles. Lawnmowers are currently able to be spawned in at DOC and by SAGOV (please correct me if i'm wrong there, as it may have been a one-off circumstance), I've seen golf carts spawned in by admins for events before, and small vehicles like these would add a lot to RP in my opinion. This opens up all sorts of paths just by adding these smaller things to dealerships, and of course there are other missing vehicles such as tractors (not the bulldozer), vagrants, and even the Willy that are missing from Eclipse. I was wondering why we don't have these vehicles accessible and I don't believe the answer is coding, as we quite literally have gotten game updates with vehicles in them for GTA and had those same vehicles almost right away.

This brings me over to the topic of "1 of 1" vehicles and such, but there is a LOT more supers and "1 of 1" vehicles that have ever been auctioned or raffled. I understand that some may have been acquired via events that were not related to the forums, but how did these events even happen? Were they all altRP or is there any process of requesting said vehicles rather they be small in price such as a lawnmower or massive such as the Banshee800R? I cannot get a very straight answer on this in /report 1's and was curious as to if anyone knew how these things came into existence, because I have even seen an Armored Kuruma at the GOV building before and I know that no one else has access to purchase them.

Can we pretty please get the ability to request vehicles that aren't in ECRP, or pay astronomical amounts of money ICly to get them?
What are your thoughts on a program like this?

(If this belongs in suggestions, I do apologize.)

The list of vehicles that get added to ECRP with each GTAO vehicle update is handpicked most of the time and there's a reason for not adding all of them. If you feel like there's vehicles that aren't on ECRP and should be added, you can make a suggestion about it.

As for the supers and "1 of 1" vehicles, most of them that are currently owned by players were either auctioned on the forums or were accessible at one point and no longer are. Sometimes they are also spawned in for events and such.

As for the all armored vehicles such as the kuruma as you stated, these are not accessible to all players whatsoever and are only rarely spawned in by the commissioners.

I can't imagine that lawnmowers, golf carts, Willy's or a few other vehicles would cause major issues. As for the topic being moved to suggestions, if it gets moved then I'm totally fine with that; it was more of a topic I wanted to see discussed in depth first. I know many special vehicles were available via the forums, but the Banshee Super variant was never posted to the forums and there are others that were not as well. I'm more curious as to how they came into existence of if all of these were from altRP events, as Faction Services no longer allows factions to get vehicles as rewards for altRP events anymore. I don't believe that these were commonplace at any point or available at normal dealerships. I just want transparency on that answer, as it seems to be sort of unknown except to people who were staff at that time I would imagine. The Armored Kuruma was more of an example as to what is and isn't available for general use, and that's definitely a vehicle I would not want anyone to have access to.

I just don't see where the issue could possibly be giving people more fun-loving and RP friendly vehicles to buy at dealerships.

The Banshee 900R used to be sold for in-game cash and credits back in the day (think 2017).

This will be the case with most supers that you can not find on the auction list, such as the Entity XF, Nero, Adder and so on.

They were available for all players to buy, but obviously only few remain from such an old time ago, and the player base was also smaller.

I think there should be a way to obtain these rarer vehicles like the supers mentioned before, maybe through some special import type deal either through current dealerships or through the government. Obviously these vehicles would need to be priced much higher than the current vehicles for sale but the fact that the 10F Widebody can be bought for under 2 mill I think the argument for supers being overpowered is a bit of a mute point. There could also be regulation with the imports, maybe an application would need to be filled out and is reviewed by the goverment and if the super is used in a certain amount of crimes or if it's impounded regularly it can be seized by the government and auctioned off.

I could create an entire character around a golf cart, an old senile old man (Evade police in it going 30mph), a retired security guard. Just having some minor vehicle could lead to an entire characters RP or even enhance it.

I do not really care for the supers cause speed is capped anyway so your just paying for the 1 of 1 and the looks, but as I am a AVID SPEAKER FOR THE VAGRANT I would do anything to get me that fucking car.

I agree with the comments and see no real reason to limits RP opps and not just add some of these "fun" vehicles in. Obviously the problematic ones such as some supers and armored vehicles have their reasons for not being added, but I would like to see the reason for not adding a golf cart for general purchase.

I would like to say that there might not be a reason for not adding these old vehicles at all. They could've just not been thought of originally when adding the first bunch of vehicles to the server.

So, if there's vehicles of that sort such as the golf cart, etc.. that you would like to see on the server, I would advise making a suggestion thread where it can actually be looked at and forwarded appropriately.

Supers are trash and people who own them make owning a super their main personality trait most of the time, boring.

As for other vehicles:
Had the luxury of using a go kart to rp a mobility scooter yesterday with disability RP
IKosHNe.png

As fun as it was, I'd much rather see the vehicles added with a purpose as opposed to just as a regular vehicle. It isn't a mobility scooter at the end of the day and the experience was everyone treated it like a go kart cos it was one. The justification of "i could rp it as something else" just isn't really satisfying.

I'm speculating based on nothing but I'd assume they weren't added cos they're not really road legal vehicles and don't really fit in with other cars.

Few on the spot suggestions from browsing vehicles we don't have. The main point is to have them in the server with a purpose (e.g. tractors are in the server under farmer job):

  • Golf cart - Rentable like city bee at the golf course, despawns if you leave the threshold of the course.
  • Go kart - Buyable like a normal car but RPly not road legal through ic laws.
  • Lawnmower - Usable at a few certain spots as a freelance job only. You drive between set grassy points in the map in some sort of van and when you're there a lawnmower spawns on the grass as if you unloaded it from the van.
  • Bulldozer/digger/Mixer/Tipper/Forklift - Easy construction worker freelance job clearing rubble (not unlike the rp that was done at the power plant recently). A more building-focused version of road worker.
  • Camper - How is this not added as a more expensive RV
  • Rusty tractor - Gte rid of the crappy paleto farm nobody except lost new players use, put one in grapeseed using the rusty tractor or just make the one you spawn an optional choice between the 2.
  • Airtug/Civillian caddy - citybee style rent at LSIA since cars cant go on there, way to get from LSIA entrance to the plane/heli parking. Despawns outside of LSIA
  • Tour bus/Shuttle bus/Dashound/Bus - Bus jobs could assign a random one of these. Or more realistically different routes use different vehicles so the vehicle speed can be balanced with route length

That's just some ideas off the top of my head from randomly browsing vehicles.

The reason golf carts and lawnmowers work for DOC and SASG is because they're monitored OOCly with faction policies and roleplay standards for the most part. Taking a caddy outside of DOC was something hard set when we got them so theyre purely used for interior patrols.

Having caddys and lawnmowers driving on the roads fucking around will just be..silly barring maybe the odd funny scenario. Having a purpose would give people chances to use them within the right circumstances.

The suggested vehicle usages around freelance jobs would fall under our same rules for tractors, you don't see people driving tractors in the city because they'll be hit with the NonRP for using work vehicle for being an idiot.

+1

To what @Ash has to say. The vehicles shouldn't just be given to every person on the street. It would look very silly.

However, with the correct RP reasoning. I think there should be some more vehicles provided for roleplay.

I got to test out the go kart a little while back and it was super glitchy. I don't know if this is still the case with it. You would teleport around on other people's screens.

I also want to see more staff auctions or even IC auctions. We haven't had a staff auction since April and I know there are definitely cars/properties that could be auctioned/raffled.

IC raffles could be a great idea at something like Diamond Casino but I doubt that Diamond Casino will ever be finished.

Most of the supers that were in the game in 2017 were available through dealerships like any other vehicle, but they were later removed because literally every criminal had a super and it made things incredibly unrealistic. Also, the rusty tractor was available through the credit store in 2017, and I was one of the unfortunate souls who spent real money on one. I usually leave the stupid thing somewhere on the map for people to RP with and every once in a while I either see someone driving it, or I get a call from the police about someone running away on it.

I believe there should be a server-owned-dealership that auctions 3 randomized 'special vehicles' every month and get rid of the auctioned vehicles on forums.

These vehicles will have a base price that is set by admins, in which that base price will vary depending how many of these vehicles are player owned.

For example, the Emerus (this is just an example, it could go for the Tractor, Dinka Go Go Monkey Blista, etc.). It's set base price could be 40 mil. Let's say 8 players own it? The price will go down by 8*2.5%, that makes it go for 32 mil. If the percentage reaches 50%, the price can't go any lower than the base price [-] the 50%.
