  1. The system used to just say "John Doe is at the impound and is requesting a vehicle be released." but cops never got any indication of whether the person ringing the buzzer was in Paleto or the city. With last weeks update, it now says which specific impound they are at, so that should hopefully help things a bit.

  3. If people get frustrated and impatient, they shouldn't have broken server rules to begin with
  4. Please provide proof of this occurring. And if you or anyone else you know has said proof, did you report it or make a complaint to the proper group(s)? If this is a reality as you say it is, then there should be no issue getting some proof of it occurring. People can agree or disagree as much as they like, but facts are what matters. Please don't slander another group/faction due to opinions or rhetoric. Get the facts together and report them to either LFM/Law enforcement faction leadership for OOC concerns, or utilize the Internal Affairs complaint process for IC (or also OOC) concerns. I'm not sure how long you have been on the server, but JB was not in the server for a long time (only more recently was the group established). I joined this server back when there was no GOV or JB factions and police were judge, jury and executioner when it came to proving criminals guilty or innocent. And the system works fine for a long time. JB offers a lot of great roleplay opportunities and the people that put it together have put in a lot of good effort, but to say that JB is necessary because PD/SD cannot be trusted to be fair is false.
  5. It's not possible to know for sure, but factors can play into it such as the amount of time they have been banned for, the circumstances and their attitude initially when getting banned, and the effort they put into their appeal. Someone that had shown some willingness to improve themselves and didn't have a terrible attitude at the time they got banned, and that has put a lot of time, effort and sincerity into their appeal is much more likely to contribute positively to the community. Now compare that to someone who argued with admins, basically asked to be banned and said they had no intention of returning and puts in an appeal that is either AI written or just says "I didn't mean to" or just makes excuses is probably not going to be likely to have changed for the better. As I said, its a judgement call, and sometimes that works out, and sometimes not. But that filter we have with the appeal system helps at least pull out SOME of the bad weeds, whereas a timed ban would allow nearly all the bad weeds back in.
  6. As has been mentioned by others already (namely Bala), the D10 was added for variety as something cool for Law enforcement to use. Not everything gets added as a "buff/nerf". Sometimes is just about having fun and doing something different than the usual. In this case, the D10 really isn't that great and will be out performed by most other "meta" sports vehicles. And to address any concerns around its usage, it has restrictions on who can pull it out and its use cases, just like any other specialized law enforcement vehicle.
  7. You made the statement yourself here that provides justification to keep the system the way it exists today. Everyone is different, both from their punishment history perspective and them as a person. If someone gets a perma ban, there is a good reason behind it, and it will be a unique situation for each person. Given that its unknown who will actually change and who won't this is why its best to give them an "undefined ban" or perma ban and then let them appeal and make a judgement call at that time if they have truly changed or not. If you just generically give someone a timed ban each time, they can just run the clock out and then come back and continue to do the same nonsense they were doing before without having to change at all. Given each situation is unique, we cannot just fit it to a cookie cutter timed ban system for these perma ban situations.
  8. I have two concerns: One being the already mentioned issue regarding other players potentially having limited time. It's not fair to force someone into RP they either don't have time for or don't want to be involved in. My other concern is DM rights. If you kidnap someone to use as a robbery hostage, you will be putting them under threat of harm, and it will hinder the scenario if a random person is grabbed off the street that you have no DM rights on. Should negotiations not go your way, what then? You wouldn't be allowed to simply shoot/harm this random person you have no DM rights on.
  9. I think the clarification for this is the method being used to attack someone's property. If you shoot at someone's tires, what are the chances a stray bullet hits the vehicle occupant(s)? Or even if the bullet(s) don't hit anyone, what if taking their tire while they are driving at relatively high speeds causes the to crash and get injured. This action is either directly or indirectly causing harm to the other player. It really depends on the circumstances of the situation.
  10. Some warehouses are owned by factions. Others are business properties. GOV has a system already in place (unless something has changed I am unaware of) where you can submit a request to build a new business properties by submitting a request for it. If you are really desperate for a warehouse or business property, try going through those channels. Otherwise, normal housing properties are now auto-auctioned after 90 days of inactivity per the recent dev notes.
  11. Date and time (provide timezone): 26/JUNE/2024 Character name: Moderator Requiem Issue/bug you are reporting: When picking a marijuana plant from the ground, it puts your gun away if there is one in your hands, but if you go into the weapon wheel and equip a gun during the plant picking timer, the gun animation will be skipped and the gun will be in your hand after the plant is picked. Expected behavior: When picking a plant, the gun pulling animation cannot be cancelled/skipped. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Video will be hidden due to staff information in it. Vehicle license plate number*: N/A
  12. I agree some changes to /stabilize would be nice to see. As @Mpache mentioned above, I would prefer to see a medical treatment script of its own added as a solution though. For example, if someone has wounds stating they have a fresh gunshot wound to the left leg and a melee wound to right arm, the medic should have a bag full of medical supplies that they could get from faction loadout such as bandages, tourniquets, ice packs, saline, etc that they would have to apply to the person depending on their wounds, and only using the correct item for that type of injury would increase their health by a bit and maybe slow their bleed out rate with each successful injury treated. This would also be a bit more realistic and balanced for those individuals that have had 30 rounds of ammo unloaded on them, as they would be more likely to die as opposed to someone who scraped their knees from wiping out on their BMX. Could take the same script idea and create a foundation for other factions to use, such as mechanics. Vehicles could get some kind of random damage applied to them as their durability decreases and a mechanic has to use the correct items on a vehicle to have the durability increase. The whole system would be more interactive and engaging and could potentially work for multiple activities. It also can be used as an extension existing damage script, for the medical stuff at least, to hopefully minimize the dev work needed.
  13. This suggestion has been implemented.
  14. Duplicate bug report. I will be archiving this one.
  15. There is an existing suggestion already that covers the topics that you have expressed above. I would encourage you to offer your support on that existing post here: For now, I will archive this post as its a duplicate of an existing suggestion and also does not fit into the bug report section.
  16. Duplicate suggestion. Archiving this one.
  17. I would recommend sending any DOC suggestions over to the primary DOC improvements thread here:
  18. This suggestion has been implemented.
  19. Working cameras and binoculars have been implemented in the new /panims.
  20. The changes to stolen vehicles not showing up as stolen immediately has been implemented.
  21. This has been implemented.
  22. Requiem

    Gun update.

Archiving this as it is not relevant anymore.
  23. The robbery UI probably has to be present to allow police or allies to participate in the robbery situation as well. I recommend getting rid of the UI and changing it to a command based system. I suggest the following: Rather than the UI and the big skull icon marking the robbery, the contract dealer only provides an address, and the player needs to do /setgps [robbery address] to find it, or just find it manually themselves. Add a new command /checkdoor to initiate the robbery or for others to check for signs of forced entry, or just checking if the door is unlocked. To prevent other crims from going around Vinewood hills and spamming this command at every door, there could be a random chance of law enforcement getting an automated call if the command is used on a house that is not currently marked for robbery saying something such as, "The homeowner believes someone is trespassing on their property, trying to break into their front door!" Ctrl+x can be used to lockpick the front door, just like with vehicles. Change the Law Cleanup UI to a command such as /cleanuphouse for police to use to get rid of the robbery contract. This command would of course be restricted to on-duty law enforcement officers.
  24. You are free to start any in game business you would like to. You could try and work with a store owner for example and get food at a cheap cost and then advertise a delivery service and have people call/text you to have food brought to them. There are other players that have already done similar things in game.
  25. I don't think this would work out well. If normal civilians had access to vehicles that could tow other cars, criminals would just use them to steal rival gang vehicles, get easy car chops, or people would just troll others by taking their car and hiding it.
