  1. In this case, why did you not report it? If you are (or were) in PD and you directly witnessed the system being abused it seems quite easy to have reported it. In this case, the abusers get in trouble and other LEOs don't get punished. Furthermore, if it came to light that the ID search was being abused, I'm sure this feature would have been removed a while ago. Edit: More often than you think we arrest criminals with the name along the lines of "Freddfersfklesfrt Handletebsyeto". I sure as hell am not typing that Non-RP name into the MDC.
  2. Big -1. This is a feature for ease of access and I've never witness it being abused. Has this ever directly affected you?
  3. Super +1. Sounds like a really good idea.
  4. +1. Whole furniture system needs a rework. It's way too wonky.
  5. Please keep posting more. These are super entertaining.
  6. I agree with the dedicated help-information channel.
  7. We don't have lawyers and courts because there wouldn't be enough judge/jury members to handle all the court cases. The only time the police search you without an obvious reason is because they are doing Gang Suppression checks. The police actually do request warrants from the government by submitting evidence collected over a period of time. Did you think SWAT raids gang HQs when they feel like it? It's usually because they have sufficient evidence to request a warrant, even if you don't know what their evidence is. It really wouldn't. There wouldn't be enough courts to handle all the cases. This is why Internal Affairs is our equivalent to courts. If you wanted to plead Not-Guilty, make an IA report.
  8. Other than questioning and interrogations, what more RP opportunities are you looking for?
  9. I agree 100% with this. If you're not in IB, you simply don't understand all the work that goes in with convicting a suspect. Internal Affairs is basically like court. You want to plead not guilty? Make an IA report, present evidence, and take it from there.
  10. Quite the story. Maybe sometime in the future you can come back.
  11. +1. Why not? Also: I 100% agree with this. There should be more variety of cheap vehicles in the city so you don't always see a new player driving a Warrener.
  12. I understand how this would make sense in a "gang wars" video game, but for a roleplay server it's just too unrealistic. I should be able to drive around in a blue car without being chased just because I like the color. In real life, there would be millions of people who live in the city and it simply wouldn't be realistic for a gang to enforce the colors in an entire city. HOWEVER, this would make sense in certain situations, like if someone rocking your colors comes close to or on your or an ally's terf. It would make sense to chase someone who is wearing all green and drives up to Grove street. It wouldn't make sense to chase a random person in the city because they have your colors. In all, you can't realistically enforce your colors throughout an entire state.
  13. I don't think anyone who has commented on this thread has actually tried it out. You already can open the gate when no one is working there. Just do /paytoll and it opens automatically. You do not get charged if you're a government worker and you're on duty.
  14. I understand guards won't be able to tap into VOIP, so maybe the phones force you to use text chat so a conversation could be heard by wiretapping, similar to how /speaker works. Here's your answer:
  15. This would definitely be very helpful. There's only one toll booth and a lot of people beat each other up over using it, because it's a good way to make money. +1
  16. I have a solution to your problem, because this happened to me in a different situation as well. Try to get an admin/mod to admin jail you and it should fix the issue.
  17. +1 to this very well made suggestion that deserves to be implemented.
  18. +1 I feel most non-affiliated criminals try to make the RP as quick as possible because the longer it takes, the higher chance police will drive by or a bystander will call the police. This is completely unfair for the victim. There should definitely be an extension of roleplay instead of: Robber: (Finds a random player in the middle of the street) HANDS HANDS HANDS KNEES KNEES Victim: /down Robber: /me pats down person. /do s? Victim: /do s Robber: /frisk (id) Victim: /friskapprove (id) Robber: (After frisking) DROP THE GUN NOW Victim: Why don't you just take it off me? Robber: /b Fear RP and stalling drop the gun or /report Victim: /me unholsters the gun from their waist and- Robber: 5 4 3 2 - Victim: -slowly puts the gun on the gr- Robber: -1 (Proceeds to open fire and loot the victim) A way this could be improved is adding a rule where in the event of a robbery, the robber must allow the victim enough time to type out their roleplay. If the robber blatantly speeds up roleplay to avoid a bystander spotting the robbery, then that would be a violation of this rule.
  19. Woah. This looks super fun. Are you branding yourself as a civilian faction? Just curious, because we don't really have many official civilian factions.
  20. My answer is very simple. Provide proof. The rules state a roleplay situation can be excused as long as proof is provided. If their power went out, simply use the email from your electric company, social media post from electric company about power going out, phone call saying there is an outage in your area, so on and so on. If someone has to log for a legit reason that they proved, then I believe the entire RP situation can be voided and forgotten. However, even if they purposely log out, it should be followed by the 2-strike rule, not an IC punishment. It's simple because the player will log out with the attempt to not face any IC consequence, but instead will be faced with a ban if they do it again. So, they either won't do it again, or they'll do it again and get banned. This way, whichever option they choose, it makes combat logging less prevalent in Eclipse RP.
  21. Major -1 here. Players who have already committed crimes a couple of times are barred from legal jobs for a substantial amount of time, forcing them to commit more crimes anyway. Increasing prison time, especially 8 hours and eventually life (deleting the character) would make it so players couldn't roleplay as career criminals. What if a gang leader gets arrested? Prison time is already long enough as it is. You need to remember that this is a roleplay server and we are here to have fun, not win all the time, despite what you usually see. With a new change implemented recently (https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?f=641&p=142315#p142315) players could start turning their life around after a first offense. If prison time increased as you committed more crimes, criminal roleplay would go extinct. Remember Eclipse RP aims to be realistic, but NOT real life.
  22. +1. If the body only stays lootable for a certain, short amount of time, then this implementation would NOT affect players who log off injured when they are not in an active roleplay scenario.
  23. I definitely agree with this suggestion, however the implementation of the 2-strike rule is so it would benefit criminals and police. Your suggestion seems awesome for gang members and criminals, however this wouldn't benefit police in any way with combat loggers. I'll be sure to +1 your suggestion, however I don't believe that alone would fix the problem.
  24. Of course, seems like that would be self explanatory lol Yeah, I guess that makes sense.
