  1. Also, this isn't a suggestion, this is simply my thoughts.
  2. With the huge jump in players recently, I've noticed that I literally have someone combat log in front of me almost once a day. This is super annoying because, firstly, you have to waste 15 minutes of your playing time waiting for them when you already know they're not coming back, or they will come back, see you're still there, and log out again. I know I can't be the only one with this problem. I simply think there is one way to solve this... I'd like to build off of the above suggestion with my personal solution. Combat logging punishments should be a 2-strike, you're out. Most new players don't understand what "roleplay" is, or what it means in the sense of GTA roleplay. They think it's an RPG, where you simply play to win. For someone who is trying to win, logging out of the game during an active scenario is the easiest way to do that. I understand what it's like to not know what RP is, I was the same way when I was new, which is why I disagree with a 1 strike ban. I think 2 strikes is more suitable because after they do it the first time, they are given a HUGE warning and get a noticeable in-game message that informs them if they combat log again, they will be permanently banned. I want to know your thoughts on this, and if you think combat logging is just as much of a problem as I do.
  3. This is a simple suggestion. A way to actually give you something to do, and improve prison RP, would be to make the phones inside the prison cell block usable by inmates. This could work by, say, you pay stamps to use the phone for a certain amount of time. You could do /prisonphone to pick up the phone and it gives you the option to call anyone in your contacts, or just type in a number. This would be a good opportunity for different types of RP, such as calling your lawyer to visit you or just ask a friend to visit you. It could also open up doors for smuggling contraband or planning a breakout. A risk for using the phone maliciously is that maybe the guards are wiretapped into the phones, so you would have to use code words or simply be careful what you say over the phone, or you could land yourself in solitary. I feel like more prison RP is something that benefits everyone, and this is just one small way it could be improved. Edit: With the new Detention and Parole Bureau (https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?f=641&p=142315#p142315) you could use the phones to contact a DOC officer/DPB Deputy to see if you are eligible for parole. I know this use would apply for less people, but I still think it would be awesome to have.
  4. Highly interested in where this gang goes. Seems very RP intensive. Good luck!
  5. If that were true then I'm pretty sure you just metagamed lol.
  6. I think this should be handled with a 2 strikes, you're out. A first time offense perma man is a little harsh, don't you think? I do think combat logging is becoming a bigger issue because I had to make 4 player reports in 1 week.
  7. How many +1s do you have to get before something is added lol?
  8. Hosting illegal races doesn't require any scripting/command intervention at all. Simply decide you want to host races, tell people IC how to participate and exchange numbers, possibly create an admin-approved Discord server for participants to join, and take it from there. You can show them where the racing route is and where it starts/ends. Adding scripted checkpoints ruins immersion and turns the race into one you would participate in while playing GTA Online. Also, adding a scripted way to place bets also ruins immersion. They simply give all their money to a trusted person and the cash gets handed to the winner. On Eclipse RP, you have the opportunity to be as creative as you want in your roleplay, so instead of asking for game mechanics, take your own initiative to make your racing league successful.
  9. I disagree. There is no way to enforce how applicants get there answers. Some copy and paste from the rulebook. We can't expect applicants to just "not copy from someone else".
  10. +1. There should be a harder\stricter quiz or there should be a mandatory practice server before new players get access to the real one. In recent weeks, with the influx of new players, the roleplay quality of the server has been dropping and rulebreaks have started to get much more common.
  11. "The Gun Import" With the sudden disappearance of stock on The Dream Market, criminal gangs have been having droughts in their gun supplies and are hesitant to sell their weapons. However, The West Coast Assassins know their way around the underground market more than anyone. Today, Pops, a highly respected member within WCA, has connections with a local gun store owner and was able to import everyone Pistol .50s for a VERY large discount. He went through each member and asked everyone one-by-one how many pistols they wanted. Anthony Lake answered with 20. After asking each member how many pistols they wanted, Pops said in total everyone wanted over 200 pistols. Everyone who wanted guns went to the bank to withdraw their cash and handed it to Mark Trunos. They then waited for the truck full of the guns to unload at the gun store. The members proceeded to follow Mark to the store, where we told him our total number of guns we asked for and he bought them for us. Anthony Lake collected his share of the .50s and put them in his bag. At this point, Anthony Lake was at a huge risk because of the amount of guns he had on him. He quickly drove to his apartment to drop off his guns, making sure he wasn't followed. Thankfully for him, he got there without any problems and put his guns into his secret hidden safe, along with his fully loaded AK and his drug stash. Anthony Lake was able to jump on a rare opportunity, and who knows how long it will be until something like this happens again, or when The Dream Market will be back up in running. All Anthony knows is that he has a significantly large stash of guns that won't be running out anytime soon. All information and screenshots in this post are OOC and should not be metagamed IC.
  12. Honestly this is by far one of the best "This is the LSPD" videos I've ever seen. Keep it up dude
  13. I stand by everything I said previously, however, I disagree with any type of character reset obviously. There's way too many reasons why that is a terrible idea.
  14. This was an awesome video, I admire the LSPD's work
  15. If the person who got DMed made a report, they would get their stuff back. Ever heard of a refund report? It's not their problem if they got DM/VDMed. It's the fault of the rule breaker. Therefore, they make a report and get their stuff back. Just like if someone DMed you in game and you lost your items. Make a report and get them back
  16. I see why this suggestion would be unpopular, but I actually agree with it. If you drop most of the Fear RP rules but implement the coma system, players would be more likely to act as they would in real life. If someone has a gun to you but your car is right there, you should have your own choice to risk your life trying to get to your car and escape. You may make it, you may not. The risk factor of dying and going through the coma system (Or maybe a fine, smaller than a prison fine usually is though) would encourage players to have more freedom to weather they want to comply with attackers' demands or not. Edit: This is definitely way too overkill, however the money you lose upon death could depend on how much money you have total. The richer a person is, the more money they would lose if they died. However, to prevent newer players from abusing the system (Because they may not have that much money) is the more often you die, the longer your coma timer would be.
  17. +1 . Super easy to add with a ~r~ and would make things so much easier
  18. +1 . This would literally make things super efficient and more RP-like than OOC un cuffing. Don’t see why it hasn’t been added yet
  19. After some deliberation between the founders, it was decided that The Red Devils should disband. It was fun while it lasted, however, four gang members, including the founders, had SD characters. It was decided that a gang couldn't thrive unless we spent all of our time on The Red Devils. We want to give a huge thank you to all of our members, we had a lot of fun! This thread can be archived. Goodbye.
  20. Haha. Never realized that. Appreciate the info
  21. Makes me sad to see this faction slowly fade away, a lot of work was put into it and I hope you guys are able to regrow!
  22. First Initiation 02/17/2020 The Red Devils finally accomplished their goal of developing an initiation process. As a matter of fact, they conducted their first one today! The members of The Red Devils met up with the three initiates, and we brought them to the location where this would take place. After the initiates were patted down, the Red Devil higher ups began questioning the initiates about why they wanted to join, what made them choose to be a criminal, etc. The initiates were also questioned on their knowledge of the city, including other gangs amongst other things. They were also questioned over Discord about their knowledge of server rules, which the initiates did a good job answering our questions. After they gave us their story and answered our questions, it was time for The Red Devil members to vote on each initiate over the ledge. Each member took turns giving their thoughts on the eager initiates, and gave a final vote on weather they would become recruits of The Red Devils, or thrown off the ledge. In the end, all the initiates were voted in favor of joining, and that's exactly what happened. The gang began setting up the initiates by getting them radios and bringing them to the clothing shop to get them in gang attire. Upon arriving at the clothing store, it was decided that everyone would change their clothes differently, to add individuality. So all the members picked red clothing and grabbed the Red Devil Mask. The outfits seemed to work out. The Red Devils will continue to accept more members and conduct more initiations. The crew has also recently purchased a Motel in Chumash Plaza and plans to use it as a business front. The Red Devils continue to grow, and aspire to be more well known throughout San Andreas. Stay tuned for more from The Red Devils, and let us know what you think of our thread!
  23. Yeah, just building up more members and creating more stories.
