  1. That's also an interesting idea.
  2. I would be in favor of removing aliases completely and making it so players have a player ID used for reports, that changes every time they connect.
  3. If you imprison people of importance, they could be forced to log in and possibly look to run their organization from prison, creating interesting RP with smuggling communication devices and such. This doesn't happen at the moment cause there's very little need to talk to your gang if you're only out for an hour, if you were out for 24 however..
  4. Interesting concept, looking forward to interacting with you.
  5. Offline prison time is not something I'm against, but it obviously means it will have to be longer (24 hours sounds reasonable) and it would stop things like someone shooting a cop then an hour later hes at impound asking the same cop for his car back.
  6. Since it's been about 8 months, a suggestion reaffirming the community's thoughts on the matter would be warranted, I think.
  7. This seems like a really cool idea. Gangs could choose to keep the location secret for security, or rent it out to people for money but have to deal with the risk of it getting raided.
  8. How do you believe law enforcement should deal with people physically resisting arrest? I think being tased is reasonable, if you are given a chance to comply before-hand.
  9. It's the opposite. People that already have 2 hours in charges will do anything because they can not get any more. If they knew that committing more crimes means more prison time, they might make different choices. It also comes down to doing crime in a smart way, if you are decent about it, you will never see a cop. If you run from traffic stops or rob in the middle of the street, then you can't complain about the prison time.
  10. This was suggested before and received poorly by the community. NCZs are a necessity for areas such as the bank and police precincts but they are not needed for parking garages. I do agree that having just one brings some issues, therefore instead, I agree with @MusketDeezNuts and the rest of the community in previous suggestions that instead, we should have more parking garages.
  11. It's because people will rush them and attempt to kill them because there are no repercussions for doing so. If guards were able to grant early release, or extend sentences, this would not happen. It's a vicious cycle but guards will not interact with you because they will get attacked for no reason because of a lack of repercussions and you don't want to implement repercussions because guards will not interact with you.
  12. Who is going to be in prison developing their RP if everyone gets out after an hour of watching netflix? I know for a fact DOC has been trying very hard to keep activity in all timezones, even when the server has 80 people, they'll have two guards. There is no excuse.
  13. How is it not an argument? It makes perfect sense in the fact that the LSPD is missing other features that makes real-life enforcement easier/stronger such as (working) spike strips, the ability to cause traffic breaks, cameras that actually record stuff, etc. The fact that certain things are missing from the game, and the LSPD is given other advantages in the context of the game is completely logical, unless you are arguing in bad faith and wish to say that LSPD shouldn't have anything that isn't realistic but at the same time criminals can shoot cops and get out of jail within 2 hours. Is that realistic?
  14. Spikes strips are currently not functional / too functional. Either you will use them and they will not work, they will just be a ramp and send the vehicle flying or you will use them, they will work but then they will stay there until server restart (popping every tire that goes over it). (unable to be picked up) I believe that's the main reason they're underused right now.
  15. hi Andor. Hope you're well, I don't want your super.
  16. I've been thinking about bootleg stuffs for a while. Great suggestions all around.
  17. That is incorrect. All officers get issued a firearm covered by the department, they may choose which model of firearm it is (depending on the size and budget of the department) but it is paid by the department. Departments also give them permission to carry a secondary/backup firearm, usually of their choosing, but sometimes subject to restrictions. They do not buy their main firearm. Heavy weapons are mandatory in any large cities following the North Hollywood shootout between law enforcement and heavily armored bank robberers. It was clear to everyone that law enforcement needed to have bigger weapons available, and since then, and following other notable shootouts, law enforcement agencies will approve (but not always issue) heavy firearms to most officers.

You're obviously heavily biased towards the criminal side. I asked you once to not bring one side of the real life, because it will only prove how ridiculously easy criminals have it on the server. If a gang attempted to attack a prisoner transport, all of their gang members would be in lockup for 72 hours, without charge, just for questioning. If a gang member was arrested for killing a cop, he would leave prison in 20 years, maybe, assuming he killed him without an illegal weapon. In the context of the game, you kill 20 cops after you have 200 reckless operation charges, go to prison for 1 and a half hours, because VIP affecting IC prison times, and then you get out of prison, sometimes before the cop is even done with the paperwork/medical RP/the situation, and the biggest issue with that is that you got a fishing rod taken? I haven't been to Detroit either, that must be why I don't see your side of the argument.

And if people were summoned here, how many would show up? If if they don't show up, how harsh is the punishment in real life compared to here? Do you think people that kill cops would ever be out of prison? More yet, 120 months after their arrest? If you bring real life into this, you will find out that criminals have it so so sweet than what it would realistically be.
  20. The way it works here is people ask OOC but RP related questions via the use of /do. ex. /do Where would your gun be? If you were to say /b Where would your gun be? It would serve the same purpose, but it's generally frowned upon because people usually use /b to complain about something that is in-character. Such as a person being arrested going /b I didn't do anything wrong.
  21. Working at LSC does not make you a legal citizen. If you engage in weapon or munition trafficking you are a criminal, regardless of where you work.
