You mean, doing farming or mining where you can get 10k+ in 1 hour? Earning way more than any faction job?

I don't think adding vehicle replacement or other kind of overhauls to the server should be done. While it looks good at the glance and server would look nicer, you have to know that if we suddenly started adding high quality vehicles to the game, certain people might not be able to run those. RAGE is currently not the best with stability when it comes to mods, especially when it comes to downloading and loading them for the 1st time. And because server side mods are not optional, if a overhaul is done that you don't like, then you are forced to see it every time you play, but if we keep the mods clientside then you can mod the game to your liking.

Let me start this by saying this is a nice suggestion on the first sight, but there are few problems that I would like to point out. While average officers can't know someone's previous names, if you get a name change IRL, your criminal history moves over to your new name, so you can't escape your past. Now to the actual suggestion. The main issue here, that exhibits less IRL is that we don't have multiple levels of identification. I don't work in financing industry exactly, but I handle lots of bills and stuff between private entities and companies and vice versa. And while this is not exactly working in HR department, I still have lots of information on how to identify someone or track them down if we are looking for them for unpaid dues. In my country, one being in EU, we have 3 ( 4 if you count health insurance stuff, but identifying people over that is illegal as that is higly sensitive information ) forms of identification. 1st one is your normal ID cards, that can be your standard personal ID card, or drivers licenses. This is used for basic level of identifications, such as when people ask you to show your ID at a store when buying liquor or when you are paying with credit card. This check is done at a face value, meaning if all information looks legit and the ID is done well, you would pass this stage. 2nd one is identifying numbers on your ID card at face value. Both on my drivers ( 3 on drivers ) and personal ID card ( 4 here ), there are unique numbers which upon inspection and some common sense on how those numbers work, all of the unique numbers are connected each other and an experienced person can see if those match ( For example, we use a number which is generated from when you were born, what area and which child you were born on that day, its not the most unique thing, but there can be some discrepancy in it, which most of the people don't know. In this case its because of the rolling over number, ( to display a year they used 3 digits instead of 4, so if you were born in 1990 you would have 990 on the card) there has been an change to x position of a number, which is used as a flag to tell if the person has been born before or after 2000 ) 2 of these numbers, especially on personal ID, are written in a special way, like it would be on a bank note for example. Officers and people at government buildings, usually look for this signs, but if you had a very good fake ID, you could still pass this. 2nd one is also identifying numbers on your ID card by running them in a system. In my country, we have a database called "Central Population Database", this database contains pictures, information about you ( address, name, number ( in some cases ),other IDs, certain information about your family members, and most importantly, picture ). This is used in a traffic stop for example, when they run you and your vehicle information, checking if the information matches and if you need to be identified because you committed a crime. --- This was all about interacting with PD and general public, such as general stores and other business entities that require you to identify yourself. --- --- Now we are going in more job interactions, which I believe is the biggest point of this suggestion, allowing people to apply for jobs they can't anymore because of their crimes --- 3rd form of identifying people. Each person is assigned their "tax" number, in a sense same way as Social Security Number ( but only used for tax purposes and not general identification ), at their birth. Once they turn 18, I believe that number is changed and you have to request it again. This tax number is used to run a financial background checks people, but at the same time it contains some parts of their employment history. While you may fake an ID, combined with the identification numbers on your ID card + tax number, its pretty much impossible for someone with fake ID to get pass this, as there would be a miss-match with the tax number. The only way this would be possible, if you had complete background information on the person you are trying to identify fraud as, this means employment history, address history and you would also have to use their name on the fake ID, so if the ID is ever ran in the Central Population Database, which can be done by private entities with your permission, you would get busted. --- With this out of the way, I can now explain the issues/my opinion --- Eclipse has nothing more than /showlicense to identify people, PD has some database when it comes to arrest reports, but because easily available surgery ( this should not change, as people make mistakes and even I have realized 1 month later after changing my character, that I don't like an aspect of it because I haven't seen it from that angle before due to limitations of the character creator ) and limitations of the game, even when we take mugshots, they all look almost the same in the end. If you made a fake ID, there would either have to be more identifiers, or there would have to be a command which could be used to identify if the ID is fake ( shitty option imo ). If there are multiple identifiers, you could have multiple levels of fake ID and identities, one that is just fake ID to pass the age check at a bar, another where they use someones stolen identity to build your fake identity on. This comes at a issue though, while you can just steal someones ID card, people don't usually carry their tax numbers on them, especially in my country. ( This gives me a good business idea though ) Not everyone could just make these fake ID's, at least not the higher level ones, not even official factions. This should be a process where people have to apply to become suppliers of stolen identities, with the people applying showing their roleplay history, making sure its up to the higher RP standard and making sure that their backstory makes sense when applying for this. And every high level stolen identity, because it will impact people a lot, especially the ones that suffer from their identify stolen, should have some roleplay oversight by the staff team.
-
I kinda made a script for this, not sure if it works as you are typing, but it works when you open map for example
-
Person drove up to the staff member because they yelled at them, and they just pressed I to steal something from the vehicle.
-
Well, in that situation, the person who did so, was a staff member and the report was denied, so it really didn't send off a good message about roleplay when it comes to looting.
-
Except a report got denied when a person just walked to a car, pressed I and looted it, same can be said for looting a wounded person, its going to be denied and rule should be put in place for this
-
Because then its not CK, its just wiping criminal record while they will most likely roleplay with the same faction.
-
If there is no oversight by admins, you will have situations where people will CK only because they want to get rid of their aliases and have a clean record without any asset loss. +1 to the original suggestion
-
Instead of removing the blips, they should be grouped together by using the same name, so instead of wasting 20 blips spots, it would only waste 1

To give more info in how much time someone gets today. I arrested someone today for attempted murder of government employee, carrying unlicensed firearm and manufacturing narcotics and the person received 135 minutes jail time I believe. So even though the crimes the person did were serious, they only went to the prison for 15 minutes more than before. Where with the old penal code, attempted murder would get you 150 minutes alone and you would hit 120 min cap with 1 crime
-
I was thinking of making a topic of all the scripts that I did, because I have few more and just add links to them in the guides section.
-
To put in perspective, they are serving time for 16720 minutes, in the penal book, the longest charge that we have is Domestic Terrorism which nets them with 120 minutes. To get to that sentence, they would have to commit Domestic Terrorism ~140 times. They have committed more than 140 crimes, and now they are finally serving time for it. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time, and that includes the Reckless operation that you get from the speed cameras.

You don't have KOS on them, but you can still roleplay getting revenge. Just because you dont have KOS, that doesnt mean you cant interact with them.

I can't tell about how other officers grant death RP, but I can give you how I do it. Whenever there is someone that I have downed and they ask for death RP, I look at what lead to the wounded state of the player. Did the player just come up to me arresting their friend and started shooting? That is denial and not much will change my mind, as you didn't add anything to the RP. Was I transporting someone to Bolingbroke and you they blocked me with the vehicle and instantly started firing? Death RP denied, because they didn't add to the RP. Someone being in a chase because they are wanted, flipping their vehicle and actually RPing crawling out of the vehicle, roleplaying being all dizzy and everything, then doing a kind of last stand. I would grant Death RP as that, as they didn't just reach for the guns instantly, but they RPed for it. Someone being in a chase and ending up in a massive collision with an object or another vehicle ( not dying, just stalling the vehicle at high speed ), and RPing getting serious injuries, I would grant death RP for that. But if the second they stall, they step out of the vehicle, pulling out guns, that is an instant denial. Or if the whole experience is fun for everyone involved, then that I might also consider granting death RP for that, but if we have someone that is off-roading in a sports vehicle while in chase and then stalls because of that, there is a very small change I would grant them death RP for that.

Good luck you guys, I hope you will uphold your RP standards!

At the moment yes, we are stuck with Internet-radio till they come and deploy a solution for the issue
-
My server is not hosted on internet-radio, but instead on my own private server.
-
Well, my system would allow you to upload .mp3 files to my server, where you could add them to the radio playlist.
-
When the speakers were added, I spinned up my server and set up an instance of management panel for radio, where I could create new instances of radio on demand. My intention was that I would create 4 or so radios for Eclipse RP community and give it out to any potential business owners ( night clubs and such ), so they could make their own playlists with it. This is still my plan and I am just waiting for Nobody to fix the issue.

Add getting ID as a command from corpse or allow other form of RP
AnnoyingOne replied to AnnoyingOne's topic in Archive
That was my 1st part of the suggestion, where we would get a scripted support for it. The 2nd part of the suggestions is something to bridge the time meanwhile if the devs decide to implement the feature -

That is also a good point, but we would still have to PM the person that died, so we can Identify them, we cant just use server ID to run them in the system. That is my whole point. -

PD cant place crimes on dead criminals? This whole thing would help criminals as it would close any potentional crime reports into the criminals. As I said in the example above, if a criminal is wanted and they get into shootout and they die, the charges or any crime reports on them would resume, but if we could identify them, we could close the crime report. And at the same time, when someone dies, RP just suddenly dies with that person, which is also very bad and poor RP. This is a roleplay server and not scripted Cops and Robbers server where we 100% rely on the scripts. And as for your point regarding shooting to kill, I have only ever returned fire at the criminals, even when I was in standoff with a criminal, I waited till the criminal shot first and I died because of that. -
When someone dies and gets revived at the hospital, a corpse is left on the ground. At the moment, due to script limitations, not much can be done to the body, apart from checking how they died using /analysewounds false and checking their body. I am suggesting that we add an command, such as /friskbody, which will allow us to see the ID of the body. Maybe even /takeid, so if your friends dies, they can't be identified if someone stumbles upon the body. Doing this will allow more in depth RP for Criminals and PD, as in the case of PD, lets say that there is a shootout between wanted criminal and PD, if PD failed to identify the criminal before engaging in the shootout, after the shootout is done and criminal is dead, PD has no way to know who they have just fatally injured, so they cant RP that the wanted criminal has died, because they are not able to ID them. Because this requires script support, which is unlikely going to happen. I have another solution on how to solve this, something which PD was already utilizing and something which makes sense for a RP server, but due to some opinions from certain staff members, which in my opinion they shouldn't have on RP server, that is considered metagaming. PD was roleplaying with the body using /me's and /do's and once it came trying to get actual information as to what happened to body, considering that /do is just an OOC extension for the game to describe what people would be seeing, PD was using /pm as an /do to ask the players who have died, if they would have ID on them or what happened to their body. This adds RP to the server as instead of there just being a body, PD can actually investigate. But, certain staff members have said that using /pm's is considering MGing, even though that we have body in front of us, which we could RPly frisk and get information from, this doesn't make sense for a RP server, because why if someone died and is not there anymore, why couldn't we get any more information from them. In the end this is RP and we shouldn't limit ourself to scripts

Change the VOIP hotkey from N to something else !
AnnoyingOne replied to HungryRabbitz's topic in Archive
Make sure to run it as admin, RAGE Multiplayer runs at admin level, so if you want AHK to work while windows is focused to RAGE, you have to run it as admin
