I like the idea of pushing more anti- cheating methods but this is not it.

To add onto my original response, its very rare prisons even use just orange jumpsuits nowadays anyway, at the very least make it random what color jumpsuit you get

I love the idea of new clothes, especially prison clothes or customization of some sort. But i think the problem is (and forgive me if I'm wrong) I don't think the development team is all that caring of new clothes. These gang clothes have been in development for a long time going as far as having a video release called "Clothing update 2025" and as of right now has no sign of releasing anytime soon Halfway through the year. So I love the idea but if I'm honest the likelihood of it being implemented is insanely low.

I somewhat agree, there is no problem with enjoying PVP, the problem is when its the only reason people are there and they have no intention of roleplay, (Hence NHTRP) Essentially the less of those players the better because lets be honest those types of people either: A. Bring more people like that into the server, or B. trick newer players into thinking thats how the vast majority of the server works and then from there it just spreads like the plague. Ideally we want to provide as many Roleplay opportunities as possible, I know this discussion was started with the idea that "You dont need script to roleplay" but when people are newer to roleplay they will find it hard to figure out what they can do. I think we should provide as many script roleplay abilities as feasibly possible. Whats something you see all the time in gang RP? Niobe, Vigero, La Carouse, Kamacho, Combat MG MK2, Pump MK2. I mean really the list goes on. Obviously theres always going to be a meta, theres always going to be players that do a lot to win. The only thing we can really do is make sure the meta doesnt get the stranglehold it has on the server currently. People aren't going to like me saying this but im thinking something from FM might need to happen. Higher tier factions need to set examples for lower tiered factions, however lets be honest the only example they're setting is, "This gun wins, this gun doesnt" I don't really have the answers but im hoping someone that reads this (If they read it at all, at this point this discussion is drowning in suggestions) they realize that something needs to happen, whether thats changing the meta, or punishing people that abuse the meta I dont know really, I just hope it gets looked into in some shape or form cause its making crim RP less and less fun, atleast in my personal opinion.

Without this turning into a massive discussion, lets just say theres absolutely no way this would fix anything it would only make things worse. Removing the ability to equip certain weapons from crims isnt fair, in an already MASSIVE uphill battle.
-
There are so many ways around this its insane, I think increasing decay on guns would INCREASE RP. Maybe a middle ground: You must clean your weapons regularly otherwise they decay and jam. (Like real life wow!) You have to clean them semi-regularly, which discourages MASSIVE stashes which in turn means more interaction via gang fighting, or gang alliances being MORE useful because now you dont have a massive weapon stash the size of which can rival the military, you have to go to gangs to get weapons more often.

Way too many of these to read just to make sure someone didn't already say this, but maybe make some sort of feature to set up an official race circuit? with checkpoints and everything similar to the DMV? I think the revamps on the freelance jobs are great, the only problem is that none of them so far have been co-op jobs like roadworkers, or burgershot. See if we can get some cool updates to those two. Make fishing more worth while add levels to it so you have to grind before you get the good prices so we can (say with me now) REVIVE THE PIER those are a couple of suggestions for just anyone but specifically focusing on crim aswell is a necessity cause thats a vast majority of the player base: DOC should be revamped aswell, Chunder has a fuck ton of ideas for it pinned in their profile, revamping DOC means that whenever crims are caught they got something to do when their in DOC and they dont just AFK their time. P.S - Maybe add more freelance jobs that allow for co-op gameplay? Im not entirely sure how you'd do that but im sure its possible.

Because in order to be a LEO you have to follow a certain group of rules to the letter or risk being kicked out of the faction. If crims get a pager, whats their risk? Dying? it just makes no sense. The Pager exists, the LEO's should have AN ADVANTAGE, the idea that they should always win is actually ridiculous, but lets not turn this into a LEO v Crim convo.
-
I think if anything the pager system should be taken away from LEOs long before crims get one.
-
This was her implying they should add more things to do. Ultimately the problem with DOC is the mere lack of roleplay thats even possible with it. Here's the lowdown: DOC has a lot of rules that kind of stops roleplay. Some are rules that stop DOC guards from going into the cellblock so that leaves RP to the inmates, no inmates no RP. Another thing is, visitation is only allowed under VERY SPECIFIC circumstances, that or you need a MEGA SURPLUS of guards because ive never even seen visitation and the only time ive heard of it was like a year ago. Visitation would allow for a lot of cool RP. I get they dont wanna dedicate more space to DOC, but to be honest I think making the prison slightly larger with some other places inmates could go, would be fun too. Add some more rooms with more "jobs" for stamps that could be fun. I know this one is very controversial but add the poker table back, it was really roleplay to be able to gamble stamps which is currency exclusive to DOC. Its not like DOC DOESNT want any of this added. The warden is a staff member, im sure the idea has been thrown around before. I think the solution atleast until they wanna dedicate an actual update to DOC is maybe lighten up on the rules.

Theres really no reason to take the bridge away.

I am not speaking about one interaction im saying, there should be zero concern for anything "Too Sanitary" for the server. There are things that escalate beyond things you said, sometimes people are afraid to speak up which has been mentioned before in this same thread. I dont know exactly what you think is going to happen with further changes to be implemented in the way of protecting our community members but I assure you they are irrational fears. Seeing how hard people had to fight for what we (luckily) got, I doubt any major change would be implemented that would affect your RP. That's all I have to say on the topic.
-
This is not a hard thing to understand, there are things you just shouldn't say. I know you know what i'm talking about as we have talked extensively in DMs about it. There is literally ZERO risk of this becoming "Too Sanitary" The change was good, but to be honest there needs to be more, hopefully we can reach that point sometime soon.
-
I would've agreed to this if not for the bus update making buses actually useful now, since the bus update I think its fine as is for now
-
This is not remotely productive, and will only promote more PVP on the server this is a ROLEPLAY server. Not a fan of this personally.

Make things "bearable" or less "unbearable" for the mortal crims
Jordan replied to Harveyyy's topic in Discussions
again this isn't a fix to the server at all. If anyone was banned for something like DM, Non-RP, or otherwise, you had to of been caught doing it multiple times meaning its no longer an accident. I believe this would make the problem considerably worse. -

This is not just incorrect but insanely irrational I think the biggest problem is there are players in both realms (Crim and LEO) that are very invested on winning so they'll do anything to achieve it. Just the other day I had a poor interaction with PD, we did absolutely nothing wrong, drove the speed limit the whole bit. A car conducts a U-turn and just follows us. We go to parking and a couple of us log off. Before another one of us could log off hes called a pussy and told to take his mask off by said PD officers, claiming he's already wanted (despite the fact his mask wasn't even off yet) and they arrest him calling his drugs in his inventory a "Fight Loadout" its officers like this that aren't too invested in roleplay and more so interested in winning, they did the same thing to me pressing me and calling me a "pussy" when I said nothing to them. Thats not to say Crims aren't responsible for this kind of behavior either though, I can't tell you how many times i've seen crims set up traps for LEOs to fall into, they kill the LEOs and then add it to their "Clapper montage" As a community we need to be better and be more accepting of losing situations. We also need to start allowing the chance for good RP to come out of these situations instead of cutting corners or doing anything to "Win" because yes while it is a game, we are in a ROLEPLAY server, I do not understand what roleplay comes out of calling some random person a pussy as police officer as this type of behavior would call for an officer being suspended. I also dont see what roleplay can come out of posing on top of officer's dead bodies -
yeah huge +1 to this. I can imagine at a house party or something, someone can log out during the even, and then log back in knowing full well no one is going to be around, and then if anything is left unlocked/not in safe its quite the easy snatch

Lets keep the discussion on track please, comments like this are not necessary and do not add to the discussion. -
Im sure everyone by now has played or at least heard of the game "Schedule 1" but if you haven't its basically a game about being a small time drug dealer that deals in different strains of weed but eventually as you level up you get more drugs you can produce. Now obviously this idea isn't original in anyway but this concept you're about to read is inspired by Schedule 1 and the pre-existing drug system. I'm aware that a lot of what im proposing is a lot of work, and if it were to be implemented it'd probably be done differently, but with that being said here was the idea I was able to come up with: New Drug Production Methods The system as it stands currently is pretty basic, and offers little roleplay, and little interaction between criminals/criminal factions beyond fighting or trading for drugs to fuel turfs. This idea would serve to extend the process needed to produce drugs and thus it would be a new system to learn which: A - Provides more RP between criminal factions in order to learn the new process & B - means there would be more things needed to produce said drugs, perhaps the ability to import these things similar to the original Drug tables and vents? Different drugs would require different equipment to make, the larger the product's price, the more expensive the tools needed would cost, similar to buying a toolbox it would be a long term investment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weed The simplest drug to produce, essentially all you would need would be: Rolling paper, weed plant, and a table to roll it on. This one would remain mostly the same, I believe in order to have a healthy system implemented into the server we need to keep particular things that already exist so the gameplay loop doesn't change TOO much. Keeping this the way it is now would mean crims still rotate labs for growing and picking plants, as well as needing tables to roll blunts onto. Strains People who smoke weed IRL are no strangers to different strains of weed: Indica, Sativa, etc each strain gives you a different high, like Indica for instance is known for a more relaxing feeling, while Sativa is known for boosting productivity. Introducing strains would mean creating individual effects for different strains similar to how Steroids, Weed, and Crack etc give you differing effects. For instance: Indica would provide the focus boost needed for lockpicking that currently exists for blunts, while Sativa would provide a smaller boost for speed. All while Hybrid strains would provide a boost to both at the cost of a higher percentage of failure to produce (More on that later) and also yielding a more expensive sale. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For meth it would be a simple overhaul, this would need to be produced privately in an apartment or an illegal property provided by Cartel. This would mean that criminal factions would be the main pushers for drugs like Meth, Coke, etc. This is more realistic and means solo crims have more reason to interact with factions. You would need a couple of things for meth, we could probably keep the same ingredient system just so (again) we keep some of the mainline gameplay loop. The difference would be in the production itself. We could create more ingredients and re-introduce the hazmat suits (already implemented) when producing meth as now it would be done in an interior. Meth would require different materials and wouldn't be done on just any table. The idea is you'd need things like flasks, ingredients, and a ventilation system along with a hazmat suit. The production would work like a mini-game more than likely the same one we have for everything the classic skill check but it would work more like Dead by Daylights skill check where you don't know when its gonna happen and it just randomly pops up so it means you have to be focused. Quality This would be the meth equivalent to "Strains" better quality would yield a higher price, and better/long lasting effects. Meth would remain largely the same with the exceptions of quality. Inspired by Breaking Bad from best to worst: Blue>Pure>Cloudy>Dirty (potentially more) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brief Explanation I wont go into more detail with other drugs to keep this suggestion relatively short but essentially stuff like Heroin would require needles, and other ingredients. Hopefully with this entirely imaginary and fake update each drug would get their own icon instead of just the classic bag of money that is the current asset used for drugs along with items used when using the "Hand over" feature. Roleplay And finally the reason I wanted to make this concept: The roleplay. Previously I was the leader of a faction (Waterfelons) and part our lore was selling CLEAN drugs. Now im in a faction that's lore is being hood rat drug dealers, but obviously with the current system that is all hypothetical because drugs are drugs, and you are 90% of the time selling to NPC dealers that take your drugs, they cease to exist and you get cash. Its quite simple and only really a way to make money and get the upper hand in a fight. This new hypothetical system would provide SO MANY avenues of roleplay. An of example I thought of while writing this: A faction is the lead producer of Weed. For this example lets say Black Corp. Some solo crims are looking to get their hands on some blunts, but they can only produce very simple strains of weed so they don't get long lasting or desired effect. They would be incentivized to make some sort of deal with Black Corp. Demand = Roleplay & Profit. Now obviously we'd keep the base system for selling drugs to dealers for those people that like grinding but for factions whose roleplay stems from a lot drug dealing: (I.e - OTF, Black Corp, Waterfelons etc) would have more chances to roleplay drug sales. Additionally you could introduce specific equipment only certain factions have access to, such as previously mentioned: (vents, cooking kits, flasks, burners, papers, filters, seeds) If we want to keep the same gameplay loop we could re-vamp labs to be for different drugs in the form of "Public Trap Houses" houses like "Grandma's Lab" would be places where you can have access to that equipment, at the cost of fighting for it. Currently I realize there are a few problems with how this works, such as: Beyond RP what incentive do factions have for buying drugs from crims or vise versa, the prices would virtually remain the same depending on the produce. Maybe gangs would buy at a slightly higher price because they want to boost the price with other drugs? Im not really sure. Also, a new system means a lot of figuring stuff out, and with that comes a bit of frustration and I can already see the "Why not keep it the same" comments from a mile away. Ultimately this suggestions serves as a very basic idea for more roleplay to be introduced to the server. That's all I got really, again I know this is a very basic idea, but I'm hoping this can turn into an active discussion where people bounce their ideas off of others in hopes to get some sort of new system implemented because as previously stated the current system is incredibly basic and offers very little roleplay.

This comment, and response as a whole (Not just the above quoted statement) deeply saddens me. As a member of this community for a good while, I've seen discussions of LEO v Crim like anyone has pop up here and there to much of the player bases dismay. These discussions are here to build a back and forth between different communities in our server. Whether that be crim v leo, or Legal and Ilegal, the whole point is to reach some middle ground so staff might work on the things stated and implement changes into the server that contribute to the health of the server. So quite frankly, do not understand the need for pointless comments, and stray insults such as "You just want to win" when there are some valid concerns brought up in this discussion. I understand both sides. On one end crims drive around with heavies all the time, especially the more notorious ones: Rooks, OTF, etc. For PD not to bring out heavies to combat that is a little hard to believe. At the same time though, in reality I do not think personally, cops should just roll around with Carbine rifles. At the very most i'd find it fair to roll around with a pump shotgun and a pistol (More than likely a .50) as IRL police do often carry shotguns in addition to their firearm thats already on their person. The heavy weapons are reserved for swat or the bigger police units for certain situations. I was just talking to one of my fellow faction members when discussing crim RP and how much it could be improved if the scarcity of weapons was improved. I am in OTF, and we are the "Hood Rats" of Los Santos, and we were discussing how cool it would be to have gang beef with another street level hood gang with shoot outs in the cul-de-sacs. The problem is: In real life you don't exactly see two hood gangs pulling out Carbine Rifles and shit. Now for labs its kind of a different story because thats where the gang beef gets mixed, you have gangs that are based on real life hood gangs such as OTF fighting against groups that are based on Mafia's or ex-military groups that tend to bring out bigger weapons, so the mix is unfortunately inevitable. I'm not proposing some sort of change that will limit heavy usage of any kind, im just putting it out there in the discussion in hopes someone reads up on it and agrees. Back to the comments made in this discussion, I believe some of the people making these back handed comments and "strays" are long standing members of the community and as such should know better than to tell other people how they want to play the server. If we as a community seek improvement in any regard we have to be open to criticism from every end of the player base, whether you agree with it or not there is simply 0 need for comments like "You just want to win" or "We get it, you don't like PD." None of these comments contribute to the discussion at hand and only serve to offend more people which distracts from the discussion. Thats all I have to say on the topic. TLDR: I get both sides, I wish the server had a more realistic behavior when it pertains to when to use "heavy" weaponry would make for some cool RP. -
@SaltyPoiosn I moved it thank you
